For a moment, everyone's thoughts were in turmoil.
Shirley's expression was especially grim. Martha hadn't just humiliated her with her words, but she had also insulted Ivy. It brought back painful memories of her past-those days of poverty and hardship when she had to endure the scorn of others. It was a life she never wanted to revisit. It had been many years since she had suffered such humiliation.
Shirley was about to speak when Ivy stepped forward. "Mrs. Zachman Senior, it's one thing for you to insult me, but why humiliate my mother, too?" Tears streamed down her face as she bit her lip, her voice shaking with indignation, as though she'd been wronged beyond measure.
"Mrs. Zachman Senior..."
"What's so wrong with me liking Wren? Is it a crime to want to be with him? What have I done to deserve this kind of humiliation from you?
"I know you look down on my background, but I still have my dignity. Wren and I are in love. It's true love! Why are you so determined to tear us apart?
"Have you ever thought about his feelings? If Wren knew you were humiliating his girlfriend like this behind his back, do you think he'd be happy about it?"
Martha let out a cold laugh, her gaze filled with disdain. She didn't even look at Ivy properly. "You like my grandson? Do you really think you're worthy? Don't think I don't know what you and your mother are up to.
"That's enough."
"The older one seduces my son, and the younger one goes after my grandson. Ultimately, isn't it all about coveting the Zachman family's fortune?
"Spare me your nonsense about 'true love.' You might be able to fool others with that, but do you even believe it yourself?
"And now, you're trying to use my grandson to threaten me? Who gave you the audacity?"
Martha slammed her hand on the table, her gaze sharp as a knife as she glared at the mother and daughter. "You have one day. Move out of the Zachman residence. You don't deserve to live here." With that, she left the dining room.
Meanwhile, Katrina continued to enjoy her breakfast, unbothered.
Shirley shot her a venomous glare, her voice dripping with resentment as she said, "Katrina, are you feeling smug now? Don't think that old hag's protection will last forever.

"Sooner or later, she'll be dead. And you? Without your husband's love, do you think you'll ever rise again?"
Katrina calmly dabbed her mouth with a napkin before giving Shirley a faint smile. "Do you know what you look like right now?"
Shirley froze, only to hear Katrina utter three mocking words.
"A ridiculous clown."
Shirley realized she was being insulted and lunged at Katrina, but Ivy quickly stopped her.
"Mom, don't make it worse. Mrs. Zachman Senior is still around," Ivy urgently whispered, trying to hold her back.
Shirley clenched her teeth in frustration, but her fear of Martha ultimately forced her to swallow her anger for now. "Katrina, don't get too full of yourself. Let's see who has the last laugh!"noveldrama
With a bitter remark, Shirley grabbed Ivy's hand and stormed out of the dining room.

Katrina paid them no mind. Since she had already decided to file for divorce, whatever happened between Shirley and Carlisleno longer mattered to her.
Once the divorce was finalized, whether they got married or continued their affair, it would have nothing to do with her.
As for Wren and Ivy, that wasn't her
concern, either. It all depended on how shameless Carlisle was willing to be. If he was willing to alienate his own son for a woman, his downfall and Shunning would be inevitable.
