Chapter 3: The Name of the Titan

Chapter 3: The Name of the Titan

In the room illuminated by sparkling crystals, Ye Tianrui stood before a mirror almost as tall as the dome, silently observing the reflection of his gigantic figure.

His fair face looked chubby, with the baby fat typical of his age, appearing so tender that it seemed squeezing it could produce water.

Shoulder-length jet-black hair was scattered, with two faint golden dragon horns stretching back among the strands, silently showcasing the noble bloodline and non-human identity of their owner.

The slightly plump baby-like body stretched the silk pajamas he wore, and a pair of broad golden dragon wings extended from the gap intentionally left in the pajamas. Beneath the robe-like attire, a dragon tail tipped with blade-like golden scales swayed back and forth.

"How big am I now, Sophia?" Suddenly, Ye Tianrui looked down at the quiet golden-haired maid standing behind the baby in the mirror and asked her.

"Young Master Muria, you are now five meters tall. According to the Titan standards, you have passed the infant stage and entered the toddler stage. According to the dragon standards, you are currently in the young dragon stage," the golden-haired maid, with fine golden scales along the edges of her cheeks, answered respectfully.

"Is that so? That means I've been in this world for almost five years," Ye Tianrui said with a hint of nostalgia as he turned to look down at the dragon maiden whose height barely reached the middle of his thigh.

Sophia, a tall dragon maiden relative to ordinary humans, was too petite for Ye Tianrui at this moment. As the dragon maid appointed by the golden dragon mother, Artelis Elonsath, to take care of him, she was dwarfed by him. He was already on par with her in size when he was just born, let alone now. Of course, Ye Tianrui didn't mind at all because Sophia and her team of dragon maidens had taken excellent care of him for the past five years, being very competent servants.

It was a bit amusing that although Ye Tianrui had been in this world for five years, he had never left this sparkling crystal room. Most of his time was spent in sleep, and the rest was devoted to eating. It wasn't that he didn't want to go out, but his body simply didn't allow him to engage in any activity other than eating.

Thus, Sophia and the other dragon maidens, led by her, held a nurturing role for him. After all, gold dragons, or dragons in general, were inherently lazy. It was impossible for them to raise their offspring like human mothers, tirelessly taking care of every aspect of their children's upbringing.

However, compared to many other dragon mothers, the golden dragon mother was relatively good. She had arranged a team of dragon maidens specifically to take care of him, attending to his every need.

"Sophia, can you take me out for a stroll? I've never visited my mother's castle before," Ye Tianrui said, looking towards the door of the room with a longing and curious expression.

"Sure, Master Murray," the golden-haired maid Sophia obediently walked to the door of the room, gesturing to lead the way. "Please follow me. Lady Artelis's castle is very large."

"Murray?" Ye Tianrui paused for a moment. He had heard the dragon maidens calling him that for five years. This was his true name, unique to him, while his name from his previous life, Ye Tianrui, hadn't been used in five years. He was almost beginning to forget it.

"Ye Tianrui was the name of my past human self, and my past life has ended. There's no need to use the name Ye Tianrui anymore. Now, I am the son of Titan and Dragon, Muria Iapetos Elonsath. This is the name I will use from now on and into the future."

With a curious expression on his face, Muria, not Ye Tianrui, followed Sophia's footsteps and began to explore the crystal castle where he had lived for five years.

Muria trailed behind Sophia, his eyes constantly scanning every corner they passed, like Liu Laolao entering the Grand View Garden in "Dream of the Red Chamber," broadening his horizons.

The castle was built entirely of various crystals, each shimmering with colorful brilliance, making Muria almost feel like he was in a fairy tale.

Although precious crystals were used as materials, the castle was not small at all. On the contrary, it appeared grand and majestic, exuding an aura of opulence.

Walking through the corridors of the castle at Muria's current size gave him a sense of vastness. Moreover, as he walked, Muria could be very sure that he hadn't repeated any part of the journey.

He had no doubt that if he hadn't been following Sophia closely, he would have gotten lost in the castle. This showed just how vast the layout of the castle was.

"My mom is really rich!" This was Muria's only thought as he walked. "But unfortunately, even if it's just a brick, I can't touch it. This is the private dragon property of my legendary golden dragon mother, Artelis Elonsath. Even though I'm her biological son, I have no connection to even a single copper coin."

Thinking of this, Muria's mood began to darken. Just then, Muria looked baffled at a tall exhibit in a gallery, and his mind was racing.

Since Muria had left his room where he had spent five years, he had been amazed by the collection of golden dragon mother, Artelis's treasures, placed throughout the castle: precious enchanted swords, magnificent magical armor, priceless artifacts, and the bodies of cherished yet formidable creatures.

Although Muria didn't know the origins or value of most of the collection, it didn't diminish the strong visual impact these golden dragon treasures brought him. At least he knew one thing: these things were damn precious.

And then Muria got used to it. Until now, when he saw the exhibit in the gallery, the look of astonishment on his face was unconcealed. Luckily, he was looking up at the familiar exhibit in the gallery, so Sophia couldn't see his expression, only hearing his voice.

"What the hell is this thing?"

“This is the top-tier alchemical creation of the Arcane Federation, named the Legendary Arcane Golem Titan.”

"Named Titan!" Even though it was a familiar design, Muria's face showed a disdainful expression. "This thing also deserves that name?"

The Titans were a branch of the numerous giant races in Elerasia, but they were the most special branch because among all the giant races, the Titans wielded the power of storms and thunder. They were the strongest in every aspect.

Among peers, Titans had the tallest and largest bodies, and the strongest strength. Even giants of the same size couldn't match a Titan's power. For ordinary giants, Titans were gods, worthy of worship.

"Indeed, it's not worthy," Sophia's face showed admiration and longing. "So, your father, the great legendary Titan, Ansor El Aperthos, sought out the Arcane Federation and specifically challenged this arrogant Legendary Arcane Golem named Titan."

Listening to Sophia's explanation, Muria looked at the exhibit in the gallery—a giant alchemical golem with a V-shaped ornament on its forehead and eight blue mechanical wings spread on its back. Its predominantly white body exuded an imposing presence.

The colossal humanoid alchemical golem, nearly a hundred meters tall in its towering freedom Gundam-like appearance, looked just as cool and handsome as Muria remembered, even more so with its size multiplied several times from the original setting, which left Muria feeling awestruck.

The only downside was the large transparent opening in the chest of this oversized Gundam, through which golden lightning still lingered, emitting a familiar yet unsettling aura that gave Muria a sense of unease.

“Then, this Legendary Arcane Golem named Titan was punched to pieces by my father!” Muria continued Sophia's narrative about the outcome of the battle.

Except for the chest, there were no traces of damage on this "Gundam," shining like new. The gaping hole in the "Gundam's" chest looked like it was punched through, and the golden lightning above it was obviously the legendary thunder power left behind by his father.

“Wait a minute, something’s not right. This is my father's trophy, so why is it in my mother's collection gallery?” Muria suddenly noticed something amiss.

“Well, at that time, Lady Atreus went to the Arcane Federation with Lord Ansor El Aperthos. After the giant was destroyed, Lady Atreus took it and kept it here.” Sophia explained in a soft voice.

“Just like that?” Muria looked at Sophia with suspicion. “Even if the giant was destroyed, it's still a valuable piece of magical metal. They could have salvaged it and built another legendary golem. Why would the Arcane Federation let my mother take it away?”

Though there were many things Muria didn’t know about this world, he still had some knowledge from his heritage, such as some world-class powers and precious metal materials. On this colossal "Gundam," Muria recognized several types of magical metals that could be used to forge legendary weapons. Metals of this caliber were strategic resources no matter where they were, so it seemed unlikely that they would be allowed to be taken away so easily.

Upon hearing Muria's question, Sophia was speechless and looked embarrassed. Her face turned red as she slowly lowered her head. Seeing the maid's reaction, Muria could roughly guess what had happened at that time.

Along with the formidable power for which dragons are renowned, there's also their greed for treasure. The "Gundam" made from various precious magical metals is indeed a rare treasure.

One can imagine that when his legendary father, Titan Ansor El Aperthos, punched the "Gundam" to pieces, as one of the world's top beings, his father must have valued his reputation. He wouldn't just take the "Gundam" away directly.

After all, his father came looking for someone just because of a name, then smashed their property to bits and took the wreckage as spoils. It might be a bit embarrassing for him.

On the other hand, his mother, a gold dragon known for her greed, wouldn’t hesitate. Between reputation and treasure, dragons always choose treasure. So, this "Gundam" ended up in his mother's possession.

As for the Arcane Federation, being the defeated party, they probably felt awkward to object. It's customary in Elerasia that the victor has the right to take their spoils of war. They have their pride too.

“Hmm, it should be something like that,” Muria speculated about the situation at the time, feeling that it was very likely.
