‘It is frustrating to see that there is a huge gap between my previous life's stats and my current one. I can’t accept that the Great Feral Demon like me had to face such weakness…’

The only sound that could be heard in the middle of the day was silence. No tweets from birds, or even a soft breeze of wind. It was just the atmosphere in Rotting Land that was expected to be experienced. But Victor didn’t pay any heed to any atmosphere; he was fixated on the matter of his stats.

He was powerful in the past, and the frustration of remembering his power was hard to accept.

‘After all, I still have to work hard. Even though I knew it would take years, I still have to work hard to be my former self. It is just unacceptable. The hatred I had couldn’t be equalized to the enemy I had as I know that I am still weak. But with this… I will have my revenge… As well as for my parents…’

He suddenly recalled his first life because he escaped from the facility. This became his motivation, which now was revenge.

Despite being calm, he had this violent nature that he developed through endless killings and enemies.

‘But, I should be patient… This is just reasonable since this trash and weak body was a product of the two strongest entities in this kingdom.’

Victor knew that there were important things he also had to do in a world he wasn’t familiar with. Even though this is his first world, the thoughts of being aware of his surroundings weren’t present when he was still in society. Hence, he was still green. If he rejoined society, he would be discovered immediately.

‘For that facility to stand without any worries from the government, it would be reasonable that the operator of that facility has some connections. And being discovered in human society would be disadvantageous for me.’ Victor thought as he started walking, testing whether the restart button was the reason monsters weren’t attacking him.

A monster passed through him, and he was almost caught off guard. He didn’t notice it passed through him, but he breathed calmly as that monster didn’t notice him.

‘A goblin…’

His intuition about the restart button was right, which meant that he had an advantage in properly positioning himself to stay for the night. He wasn't hungry for some reason, or his body had probably adapted to the environment he grew up in and the lifestyle they imposed on him.

Victor ignored the goblin and continued walking to search for a better place. Much better if it was a territorial place where there was a monster so that nearby monsters would be wary of the place.

‘I wasn’t fed well, and most of the time, I was injected with some weird serum and tubed with liquids so I didn’t have to rely on food. It was harsh and helpful at the same time. What I need to focus on here is the nutrition, not the nature of my stomach.’

Although it could be bad for him if he didn’t eat if he got hungry, he still had the energy to use due to the lifestyle.

‘Hah… I even managed to stay alive without eating. What could be this small challenge for me? I could simply not eat for this day. Monsters have plenty of impurities in them, which means monster meat is not edible. But, it didn’t mean that I won't eat. I still need to make sure that before leaving Rotting Land, I have some strength in my current stats to hunt.’

Victor sighed in frustration and just at the same time, he saw a cave. It had eerie vibes. For any normal human, they wouldn’t enter this place. But, Lucas had already gotten his fear gone, so the atmosphere around him wasn’t even bothering him.

He entered nonchalantly, with the restart button still hovering by his side. And just as the rocky formation was now in front of him, he took a deep breath and checked if there was any creature inside.

He didn’t want to look stupid. Even though he could just simply restart the [System] and use his previous life’s stats for now and check if there was a monster, he should learn how to utilize each ability he had.

As he went deeper into the cave, Victor noticed a huge bear. It had rotting flesh, and seeing that its fur was falling out of its body, he knew that this monster should be at least strong.

‘That is the fruit of fighting. The wounds and the carved shapes in the flesh, it is beautiful.’ Victor’s eyes flickered as he watched the body of the Rotting Flesh.

However, Victor didn’t know that it was just the physical appearance of the monster. It wasn’t the result of any fight, but instead, this Rotting Bear was naturally like that.

Checking to see if there were other monsters should be his priority too. His luck was playing on the good side as there wasn’t even one that could help this one Rotting Bear in front of him.

‘I could just kill this monster easily. But, it would be bad if the remaining time would not be used. Was there any chance that I could use the remaining time and utilize it?’ Victor deeply thought, but he didn’t get one. He was still new to the new interface and features of the [System]. Hence, studying it and not being hasty would be better.

"Hunting time," he mumbled in a bothered tone and clicked the restart button.
