"Just how important are these herbs?" Victor mumbled as he was on his way searching for the second and last herb he had to find this day.
The sun was already up, and he had been walking aimlessly at some point. Last night, his impulsiveness brought him here. He forgot about all the regrets he had. This would also be good to increase his concentration, as searching couldn't only help his awareness but also made him contemplate and prepare in case of a sudden threat arose.
However, goblins were not much of a problem for him now. It would be just about the time he should return to the Rotting Land, but Victor took the task of searching for these herbs as he thought that he could encounter more danger. More danger meant more opportunity for him. But, he still hadn't found the enemies he was expecting. He was waiting for the White Agile Wolves to appear.
He groaned, then leaned on a nearby tree. Furthermore, he exasperatedly sighed and closed his eyes while adjusting his posture.
"I want to immediately become strong. I wanted to take my revenge on that old man as soon as possible. But, why am I doing this? I am getting away from my goal. It is wrong that I put my nose in the girl's business."
It was already too late for him to regret it. He had already thought about the opportunity before even thinking about his real goal. Hence, what he could only do was to continue and leave no bothersome to his thoughts.
He stood up after a few minutes of rest and continued. He should find some monsters now, and as he was waiting, goblins appeared. They were a total of six and had high levels to consider.

However, as Victor had adapted to his small and weaker body, he was able to move more easily and hit their vital points more effectively without harming himself. So far, it was the best luck he'd had since he started hunting and searching for the herbs at the same time.
"I am telling you, this is the path he took."
Victor paused as he heard people coming from behind him. He also sensed that they took a halt, seeing him choking the last goblin.
'Shit. If I was still my previous self, even from hundreds of meters away, I would sense that they were approaching in my direction.'
Victor slowly turned his back and faced them with a weak and innocent expression.
'They look like normal adventurers or travelers; they won't be suspecting me of someone, right? Although it is weird that I have this type of garment while killing a monster, it won't be a problem to dodge their questions.'
"Ah... hello." Victor tried to communicate with them, but it seemed like they had different intentions. Most especially, the man in their vanguard, who seemed to be their leader, was staring at Victor as if he looked familiar to him.
The leader slowly took out a picture from his pocket and compared it with Victor's. As he compared it, his expression gradually changed. He was now elated as he recognized who Victor was.
'Fuck it. Were they hired to look for me?'
Victor already knew that they were going to catch him. Therefore, what he should do was to at least escape, or just kill them since he still hadn't used his previous life's stats for this day.
The leader was acting as if he was going to dash at him, but suddenly, he became a different person.
"Y-Young Master!"
All the seven adventurers ran towards him with different expressions of elation. This left Victor frozen in his position, baffled about how they were acting.
"Young Master, we finally found you."
'Young Master? Did they think of me as someone who is their young master?'
He still didn't know what to do, but he knew that the best thing to do right now was not to react. He couldn't be careless, as when he used his [Observation] skill, their level was indeterminable.
'They have a higher level than my skill can perceive?'
Whether it was a good thing or not to be mistaken for someone, he still should be cautious for now.
The leader touched him on the shoulder, but he simply stared at them, continuing his act.
"You are calling me your Young Master, but why? I can't remember being your Young Master."
The leader of the group shook his head and showed his picture. It was familiar to him, and he knew when it was taken, it was when he was still 15 years old.
'Fuck! They were already stuck on me. It was all an act to lower my guard!'
For a few seconds, the confusion they caused brought them closer to Victor. And as they were already touching him, they could just exert their strength immediately.
"Ysabel, now!"
The one who had a red mage staff immediately took out an item that made Victor petrified. Furthermore, she was a mage, and she cast a binding spell on him.
"Good thing you are naive. As we had expected, you are just a kid." The leader said.
Victor lowered his head as he gritted his teeth. He didn't expect this, and he was negligent despite acting wary. He should have not hesitated for a second and just killed them immediately.
An awkward smile appeared on his face as he faced everyone who was vigilant about him, despite being restrained.
'Were they aware that I killed the guards?'
And, seeing their alertness towards him, he established his confidence back and thought about taunting them. At least, it would be his best chance to save time after activating his previous life's stats.
Activating it wasn't just by clicking the button on the window board with his hands; he could just think of it being clicked, and it would be activated in a second. But, since they were not thinking of killing him, Victor thought of observing things for a moment.
"They say that you killed the guards. But why does it feel like you are just a weak kid? That is a simple binding spell from an A-rank mage and also a simple binding magic item. Why can't you fight back? Why did you not even try?"
Victor glared at them with his dead stare. On the other hand, they were assessing Victor with all of their wits.
"Leader, I have an idea. Could it be just a burst of his powers that gave him the ability to kill the guards? Probably in a berserk state, as most sudden awakens experience in their awakening."
As their leader understood what he said, he nodded.
"Thank you, Michael. It seems that way."
However, they weren't expecting Victor's plan to play with them for a moment before the bloodbath began.
