Chapter 10 - White Agile Wolves

Chapter 10 - White Agile Wolves

After just casually using his time, Victor spent his day hunting goblins in the forest. Compared to their population in the Rotting Land, goblins in the forest were just like lone wolves, away from the main pack.

It was what Victor was thinking, which justified their nature at least. Goblins tend to move in groups, but why did he meet only one in the Rotting Land and also meet them one by one in the forest?

It should mean something, but, ignoring it, later on, he continued earning experience points with his pure stats.

'They don't mean anything, so at least think of things that are useful.' Victor reminded himself.

The day ended in a flash, and without even spending his max stats, Victor was thinking about which situation he should use it. He still had the smoked meat from last night, which he could still eat since it was still edible. Furthermore, he had already secured a place to stay, and meant half of his day was spent on creating a tree house.

'Should I just hunt some stronger monsters that left the Rotting Land?'

Just like humans, leaving the main group to learn more or just become stronger, monsters from the Rotting Land leave the main group as well, with that same thought in mind. Even though humans and monsters don't think the same, the essence of their actions are the same; they are to adapt and survive more efficiently.

Victor sighed and went down from his tree house. He had already decided what to do. He should at least hunt nonstop and use some techniques to search for monsters he could fight.

He nodded, then clasped his hands before summoning the window board to click on the button to use his max stats. But, before he could click it, he heard a loud howl of wolves from nearby. And later on, they became growls,, and a second passed by, they get near to his direction.

Being careful, Victor climbed a tree and searched where the sound was coming from. He expected that its direction was accurately in his direction, and not being failed by his intuition, he saw a young human lady running away from a pack of huge white wolves.

'White Agile Wolves...' Victor thought as he watched them surround the young human lady when she lost her balance. 'Clumsy.'

Victor then finally realized something. He observed them deeply and realized that they had level marks above them.

'So... this world also has levels... or I didn't know about this?'

Victor jumped down from the tree and took some of the attention of the pack.

[Level 22]

They were all twice his level. He was still level 7, and fighting them with his current stats would be a suicide. Which meant that he could use his previous life's stats in this situation.

'1... 2... 3... 5... 10... They are still coming...? Woah... What kind of deal is this lady carrying in her bag?' Victor thought as he looked at the lady who had braided hair and had been carrying a bag around her waist since earlier. Her face wasn't clear to see as it was dark, but Victor knew where every wolf was standing because of their white furs.

'So... pressure and experience unlock skills... Not that I was expecting it. Practice unlock skills in Kluma.'

For some reason, the wolves were not attacking the lady immediately; they seemed to be wary of something, which gave Victor an idea that it could be the thing she was carrying in her bag. But he'd had enough of thinking; now he just needed to kill these monsters before time ran out.

Victor grabbed one wolf, and everyone started to give him attention. These wolves were looking at each other, which was a natural tendency that White Agile Wolves have, and as he pressed more into his grip and choked the wolf tightly, everyone attacked him.

'They ignored the lady...?' he thought before emitting sword Qi which covered his arms.

He swung his hands and targeted their necks to kill them immediately. Victor didn't need any flashy techniques to kill these monsters, as he had limited time. He wanted to utilize each second so he wouldn't waste them.

As these monsters kept attacking him, he moved back, then put some strength in his legs. He dashed to the wolves that were in the back of the pack, with his eyes gleaming with red light. He was again happy to kill.

This continued for a minute, then as he stood tired, surrounded by the carcasses of these wolves, he wasn't still satisfied. An awkward smile appeared on his face, then he slowly approached the lady who was still cowering in fear, probably because of the sight she saw of Victor. He was carelessly covered with blood.

Victor didn't mind it and just lowered his stance.

"Wait here for three minutes. I will return immediately." Then Victor disappeared.

The lady was clueless... Suddenly, she felt stupid being left in this dark forest and meeting a weird person as well. Nonetheless, she was now safe, which meant she should ignore every other detail that happened this night.

She leaned on the tree and breathed slowly to calm herself.

'At least I am safe now...' A bitter smile was painted on her face.

After exactly three minutes, Victor appeared beside the lady, which surprised her and she almost jumped back in fear.

"That was fast..." she mumbled with slight fear in her tone.

Victor nodded. "Yeah? Just I said, wait here for three minutes."

The lady looked at Victor in a weird way, but Victor didn't pay any heed to it. He went to see the results of his quick hunt and was not surprised to see the result.

'So... the more I kill, the lesser the experience points as well?' Victor thought, then looked at the window board. 'So this means that I should just hunt monsters that are near my actual level.'

He sighed, then closed his eyes. 'At least another day has ended and I am still alive.'
