Seline didn't answer, but from this, Noelle instantly knew the truth.
After a moment of silence, she let out a soft laugh and said, 'Well, that's good."noveldrama
"What is?" Seline asked.
She had initially planned to keep quiet about the meeting with Hendrix. After all, it wasn't a very kind thing to bring up other's painful memories, and it was also clear that Noelle didn't want to dwell on Hendrix. But she couldn't hold back after seeing Noelle act so "unbothered"
"Do you know where I ran into him? He was going on a blind date! And he had the nerve to tell me he's moving on with his life! How can he be so heartless?"
Seline struggled to find the right word, but "heartless" was the best she could come up with in the end. Noelle froze for a moment, then slowly lowered her eyes.
"There, now." Seline quickly waved her hand dismissively. "He's a piece of trash, so let's just toss him out. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll meet better men in the future."

Seline simply smiled and reached out to gently brush Rosie's cheek. "All I want right now is for her to be safe and healthy. As for other things... they don't really matter to me."
Seline fell silent.
After a while, she nodded firmly and said, "Don't worry. I'm sure Rosie will get better soon."
After what Seline told her, Noelle no longer had to agonize over whether to make that phone call. In a
way, she was relieved that Hendrix's stance had been relayed to her through Seline.
Because if she had called him herself and had heard those words directly from his mouth, Noelle wasn't sure she could have remained as calm as she was now. So, in a way, this was for the best.
She had thought that this would be the end of any connection between her and Hendrix. There would be
no reason for them to meet again. But life had a way of throwing the unexpected at one.
For instance, on her way back from the hospital, Noelle was knocked to the ground by a car that suddenly swerved into her path.
The driver wasn't speeding, but he was swearing nonstop. On top of that, it was rush hour, and the already congested road had become a complete mess.
Noelle wasn't seriously injured, but the skin of her calf had been scraped off clean, leaving a bloody wound that looked rather alarming.
The driver was yelling at her, accusing her of staging the accident.
Noelle, in a hurry to retrieve something, had no interest in arguing with him. She simply propped herself up and stood on her own.
"What's your problem? Listen. I've already called the police. There are cameras everywhere, and my car has a dashcam. So, don't even think about scamming me!"
"I'm not trying to scam you. I'm not seriously hurt anyway, so let's just leave it at that," Noelle said calmly. With that, she tried to walk away, but the man wasn't having it. He insisted she was playing some kind of trick,

setting him up for a bigger scam later.
Just as Noelle was about to explain, she caught sight of someone rolling down their car window from the corner of her eye.
A black, extended luxury sedan stood out conspicuously in the crowded traffic. Hendrix was sitting inside the vehicle, watching her with narrowed eyes, and the air of arrogance and indifference radiating from him was the same as before.
Noelle quickly looked away. She wanted to pretend nothing had happened, but the next moment, the person in the passenger seat stepped out.
"Hello."
It had been years, but Dan's demeanor was as composed as ever. He handed his business card to the man who was arguing with Noelle.
"I'm a friend of this lady. Is there a problem here?"
Dan's calm authority left the man stunned. When he saw the title on the business card, his eyes widened even more in shock.
