Chapter 364

Noelle was still caught in her surprise from moments earlier, so when Hendrix suddenly kissed her, she didn't react immediately. Her slightly parted lips gave him the perfect opportunity. The lingering taste of the cake was still present on his lips, and the rich, sweet aroma of mange instantly filled her mouth. Perhaps it was the overwhelming sweetness of the flavor, but Noelle didn't push Hendrix away. She just sat there, completely still, letting him kiss her.

After a while, Hendrix finally pulled back. Looking at her, he asked in a raspy voice, "Why didn't you move?"

He was so close that Noelle's reflection was clear in his deep, dark eyes.

Noelle met his gaze and replied, "The cake might fall."

Her response left Hendrix momentarily stunned. It was then he realized that, all this time, she had been holding

the cake in her hand.

He was initially quite tempted to take things further. After all, the street was quiet, and the spot he had chosen was secluded enough. But seeing Noelle like this, he couldn't help but laugh instead.

"How does it taste?" he asked.

Noelle raised an eyebrow and asked back, "Don't you know I'm allergic to mango?"

As soon as she said that, Hendrix's expression immediately changed. But his panic only lasted for two seconds before he quickly regained his composure and said, "You're not."noveldrama

"What?"

"Don't try to fool me. How could I not know if you're allergic to mango?"

Noelle fell silent.

She had, in fact, lied to him. She had been ready to catch a glimpse of his startled and guilty expression, but his unexpected response threw her off, leaving her unsure of how to react.

And now, it was Hendrix's turn to enjoy her expression. He watched her for a moment before smiling. "Why aren't you saying anything?

"What is there to say?" Noelle frowned and pushed him away. "Enough. Just drive already-I want to go back and sleep."

Hendrix didn't respond. He simply stared intently at the tips of her ears.

That focused look made Noelle increasingly uncomfortable Just as she was about to say something, Hendrix b

her to it.

"Penny, your ears are red."

Noelle's eyes shot up immediately. The flash of irritation in her gaze only deepened the smile on Hendrix's lips. However, he didn't continue teasing her. Instead, he returned to the driver's seat and resumed driving.

Noelle didn't have any appetite at first, but as they drove, she ended up finishing the entire cake. Hendrix didn't say anything more.

She gazed out of the window, the lingering sweetness of the cake still on her lips. The night breeze

slipped through the crack in the car window, lifting the ends of her hair.

In the quiet serenity of the evening, Noelle suddenly felt everything was right in her world.

That night, he didn't do anything more.

Noelle had taken a nap in the afternoon, but Hendrix hadn't stopped moving since stepping off the plane. After a quick shower, he pulled Noelle into his arms. The moment be closed his eyes, he drifted straight into sleep.

In the past, Hendrix had only ever been used to sleeping alone. Ever since he could remember, he had always slept by himself.

He recalled a time when he had fallen ill as a child. Summoning all his courage, he had timidly asked Beatrice to stay with him for the night, but she had refused him without the slightest hesitation. Even till now, he could still vividly remember the disappointment in her eyes as she stared at him.
