Chapter 1087

Chapter 1087:

Corey noticed her blood-soaked pants, which inexplicably reminded him of Alicia’s miscarriage, stirring an unusual emotion within him. “Go ahead,” he said, his voice unexpectedly gentle.

After Talia left, Corey instructed one of his men to contact Pierre. He suspected Pierre was more than he appeared and was eager to settle matters today.

Pierre was in Gemma’s comforting arms when he received the call.

Since Pierre had been exhausted from boxing, Gemma had taken care of him for the last two days. By the third day, he had fully recovered. They had spent much of that time intertwined in bed, reconnecting deeply.

This call interrupted their bliss.

Gemma playfully said, “Don’t worry. Go ahead. It might be something urgent from my brother. I’ll make soup for us tonight.”

Pierre responded, “No need. I’ll pick up some groceries later and cook for us.”

“Alright,” she agreed.

As Pierre left, he felt as though he was living a dream. For three days, he hadn’t left Gemma’s side, cherishing her like a newfound treasure he couldn’t bear to lose. He had momentarily forgotten his purpose, forgotten she was Corey’s sister, and wished only to remain with her indefinitely.

Upon reaching the hospital, the bustling crowd snapped Pierre back to reality. People were pointing toward the rooftop of the inpatient building.

Shielding his eyes from the sun, Pierre looked up briefly and then focused on finding Corey.noveldrama

Corey was watching the scene from a nearby car. Seeing Pierre approach, he smirked. “You’re here.”

Pierre asked, “What can I do for you, Mr. Hampton?”

Noticing the love bites on Pierre’s neck, Corey realized his sister had thoroughly been charmed by him.

Corey crossed his legs and nodded toward the rooftop. “There’s a desperate pregnant woman on the ledge. Thought you’d appreciate watching this with me.”

Pierre scowled. A desperate pregnant woman on a ledge? Such grim entertainment was typical for Corey, but involving him seemed peculiar.

Glancing upward again, Pierre couldn’t make out the person’s face due to the building’s height, but his heart tightened. “Who is she?” Pierre asked. “Do you know her?”

Corey replied, “You should know her.”

As he spoke, the crowd erupted in screams.

Pierre looked again and saw the pregnant woman falling rapidly. Within moments, there was a resounding crash. Blood splattered across the pavement, throwing the crowd into a frenzy.

Pierre gasped, his breath catching in his throat. Now, he could clearly see the face of the person. It was Talia.

Talia had been a pivotal figure in Pierre’s life. During their passionate, youthful romance, as Pierre focused solely on his career, Talia taught him how to love, value himself, and embrace life.
