Chapter 28: New Side Quest

Ding!

[Side Quest Activated!]

[It’s hunting season time! Let’s begin the hunt!]

[Objective: Hunt down 10 Lesser Aliens.]

[Reward: Five levels worth of experience points.]

Whoa, what’s this? A side quest this time, huh? Interesting. Also, the reward is five levels' worth of experience points, which means I’ll hit Level 11 instantly upon completion. Ha, not too shabby! However, it looks like the task won’t be a walk in the park. I have to hunt down 10 Lesser Aliens, and judging by my past encounters, this isn’t going to be easy.

I can already imagine the challenges ahead. It would definitely be simpler if I could kill the aliens while they’re sleeping. But that brings another set of challenges: I need to locate their sleeping stations. Unfortunately, I don’t have a map of this colossal alien spaceship, which makes things trickier. The vastness of this spaceship is daunting, with its maze-like corridors and hidden chambers.

Anyway, as I looked around, I couldn't seem to find the quest arrow marker anywhere. Hmm, this makes me wonder—does the quest marker arrow only show up for the Main Quest? So, no arrow guide for side quests, huh? Or does it depend on the type of quest I'm assigned to?

Welp, I suppose it doesn’t really matter. There’s no time limit on this Side Quest anyways, so I guess I can take my own sweet time completing it. For now, I’ll put the side quest on hold and focus on finishing my daily quest first. I'll figure out what to do next after one thing is done.

The reason I’m prioritizing my daily exercises first is because the rewards from daily quests seem to be far better than those from side quests. Well, at least that’s how it seems for now. Why? Because there's no risk involved. The side quest requires me to go outside and battle the aliens, while daily quests are more like stay-at-home training, with no need to go anywhere, making it much more convenient.

Additionally, completing daily quests not only offers better rewards but also helps me grow stronger at a faster pace. I find it essential to maximize my efforts on these tasks to make the most of my time and focus on what benefits me the most in the long run.

Moreover, I’m curious to test something out: what would happen if I can’t complete my daily exercises within a single day? Will I be able to pick up where I left off the next day, or will I lose out on the opportunity to earn those rewards entirely? That’s what I’m trying to find out.

Alright! Let’s not waste any time and begin right away! After all, tackling one million reps per exercise is going to take forever to complete. However, I won’t give up easily. I’m determined to give it my all and try to complete everything within a day. Anyway, I hope I can finish it in time!

“Raaaaarghh! Huuuuraaaahh! One, two! One, two! One, two!”

Twelve hours later…

Ahh, I’m exhausted! Fucking hell, despite all that hard work, I’m only about 25% done—there’s still another 75% left to go. Oh well, whatever, let’s take a quick break for now to eat and recharge. I need to refuel if I want to push through the rest of these exercises.

Without further delay, I chugged down tons of energy drinks, feeling the fizzy rush of caffeine kick in. I surrounded myself with a mountain of high-calorie snacks—crispy chips, colorful chocolate candies, and crunchy nuts. Each snack seemed to call out to me, promising a burst of energy and a moment of satisfaction. Among them, my all-time favorite is still Coke. I love the way it bubbles and fizzes, delivering that refreshing taste that instantly perks me up. There’s just something about it that lifts my spirits, especially when I’m feeling drained.

Potato chips are pretty good too, with their salty crunch that’s hard to resist. Ah, nevermind! There are just too many snacks to choose from, and I can't get lost in indecision. I know I don’t have time to waste, so I’m just going to grab and eat whatever benefits me the most for this moment.

Fueling up is my main priority for now—once I’m recharged, I can tackle that remaining 75% with renewed energy!

MUNCH! MUNCH! MUNCH! NOM! NOM! NOM!

Ah, I’m so full! After enjoying a delicious meal, I can feel an overflowing surge of energy within me. It’s as if every bite has recharged my batteries, leaving me bursting with enthusiasm. I’m now pumped and ready to dive back into my daily workout routine once again.

“Hoorah! Alright, let’s do this!”

Push-up! Sit-up! Squat! High jump! Running!

A day later…

Ugh, I’m so done! This is getting overwhelming… I can’t believe I’m only 69% finished and still have 31% left to complete. I’m completely exhausted… so I think I’m going to stop for now to rest and continue again tomorrow.

Even though a day has passed, or roughly 24 hours, I noticed I didn’t receive any new daily quest for today. It seems like I won’t be getting another daily quest until I complete my current one. In other words, this leads me to conclude that there’s no time limit for daily quests; as long as you finish one, you’ll receive a new one for the next day.

Phew! It looks like I got stressed out for nothing. I had convinced myself that I needed to complete all the exercises within a single day, which made me feel overwhelmed and anxious. Thankfully, I realized I can always continue again tomorrow. It’s such a relief to know that I don’t have to rush and can take my time to really focus on each exercise without the pressure.

Daily Quest Progress:

[Push-ups: 693,182 / 1,000,000]

[Sit-ups: 694,112 / 1,000,000]

[High Jumps: 691,323 / 1,000,000]

[Squats: 696,876 / 1,000,000]

[Running: 692,788 / 1,000,000]

Anyways, I can’t keep this up any longer, so I’m going to sleep now. Alright, good night or good morning…? Nevermind, honestly, I don’t even know what time it is… But good night, I guess.

With that, I closed my eyes and slept like a log.

Zzzzzz... SNORE!
