Chapter 15: Just My Head

Chapter 15: Just My Head

I tried to speak, but nothing came out. I tried to move my arms, legs, or any part of my body, and that didn't work either. No, not only that—I can’t even breathe or see anything. However, I could smell something rotting, maybe corpses or blood around me.

Ugh, this place stinks! It’s like hell in here! Holy shit! I think I’m gonna die from this disgusting stench! Aaaaagh! I can’t take it anymore! What in the world is this place?! Am I inside a dumpster or something?! What the hell is going on?!

As time passed, I found myself slowly acclimating to the foul stench of rot. It didn’t make it any less stink, but at least it was becoming somewhat bearable. Yet, I couldn’t shake the question: where in the world am I? And, more importantly, what am I? Am I human? It certainly doesn’t feel like it, but at the same time, maybe I am human... Gah! It’s hard to tell without a mirror or any light around me to reveal my current form.

Nevertheless, I discovered that I could move my tongue, teeth, eyes, nose, and even change my facial expressions, but beyond that, I felt utterly immobilized. Hmm... now that I think about it, do I even have a body? Or is it just my head that exists here?

Anyway, I began to suspect that I might’ve been reincarnated as a Slime—though, the more I think about it, the less certain I am. When I moved my tongue, I felt my teeth. They were distinctly human, as much as I hate to admit it. The shape, the texture—everything was familiar. There was no doubt they resembled human teeth, and that alone was unsettling. If I really was a Slime monster, shouldn’t I be some kind of amorphous blob with no teeth at all? Yet, here I am, stuck with this nagging question: why can’t I move my lower body?

Agh! This confusion is driving me insane! Nothing is making sense, and my frustration keeps building up. To make things even worse, it’s pitch black around me, so I can’t see a damn thing, and I have no clue where I am—what world, place, or realm I’m currently in. My surroundings are a complete mystery. I’m trapped in complete darkness, left to piece together what little I can with my other senses.

Ugh, and then there’s this stinky smell! The stench of rot is overwhelming, thick and suffocating, like I’m buried in decay. It smells like death, and that’s when a chilling thought crosses my mind—I might be lying in some kind of dumpster, surrounded by dead animals... or worse, maybe human bodies. It’s hard to tell when you can’t see a thing, but that foul, putrid odor is impossible to ignore. And furthermore, without being able to move or look around, I can’t confirm anything. This uncertainty is maddening, leaving me trapped in my own thoughts and guesses.

Where the hell am I? How did I end up in this place? And why is it so damn dark here?

Ding!

Ah! Damn! That caught me off guard. Hmm, body regenerating…? What the hell does that mean? Hold on… wait a minute… could this somehow be linked to my passive regeneration skill?

Infinite Regeneration (Passive Skill)

Well, that's intriguing. I didn’t expect my regeneration skill to stick around even after being reincarnated. I thought everything would reset, and I’d have to start from scratch. Surprisingly, even my stats stayed the same.

[Race: Human]

Then upon a closer look at my Window Screen, I noticed it listed my race as “Human.” I was instantly shocked—I really thought I’d be reincarnated as something else. But to end up as a human being again? Wow, that’s some serious luck. Did I just catch a stroke of luck?

Well, I’m not sure what’s going on, but I’ll take it!

However, there’s still one thing that confuses me—if I’m supposed to be human, then why is my body missing? I mean, everything else seems fine. My head is here, my thoughts are clear, but from the head down, it’s just totally… empty. Only my head exists. There’s no torso, no arms, no neck, no legs—nothing. It’s almost as if the rest of my body has been completely erased. How is that even possible? No, more importantly, how am I still alive? Without a body, how the hell am I even functioning? This doesn’t make any sense.

Is it my regeneration skill that is keeping me alive? Hmm, if that’s really the case, then it looks like I’ve unlocked something extraordinary. An overpowered skill that lets me survive with just my head—damn, that’s some next-level stuff. Well, I’m not entirely sure what’s happening, but for now, I’ll just enjoy the fact that I have such an incredible regenerative ability on my side.

Suddenly, an idea struck me. I can’t believe I didn’t think of it sooner! I realized I could use my “Status Window” hologram screen to generate light and illuminate my surroundings. While the light wasn’t particularly bright, it was enough for me to see a little bit better—at least much better than having no light at all. Alright, I’ll leave the Status Window on for now.

Then, as I looked around me, a chilling realization set in. I saw human hands, eyeballs, faces, legs—just all kinds of body parts scattered everywhere. A wave of panic washed over me. Aaaaaaaaaahhh!!! What the hell is this?!!

Why am I surrounded by a bunch of dismembered human bodies?! I couldn’t help but freak out, my mind racing as I struggled to process the horrifying scene before me. The sight was grotesque, each severed piece a grim reminder of a life once lived. I fought the urge to scream inwardly, feeling a cold sweat trickle down the back of my head. This couldn't be real—was I trapped in some kind of twisted human slaughterhouse?!

Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Panic surged through me as my gut instinct screamed that something was deeply wrong about this place—something profoundly evil, though I couldn't quite put my finger on it. In any case, ah! I don’t like this! I must find a way to get out of here quickly!

At this very moment, every fiber of my being urged me to escape from this hellish place immediately.
