Chapter 30 -Angel Of Death-

CHAPTER 30 -ANGEL OF DEATH-

CHUZEOTH

The ground shook like there was an earthquake, causing the bed that princess Pearl was resting on to move left and right continuously. Both angels and patients looked scared and confused.

First of all, how could the ground shake if we are on a floating island?

But before I could get my thoughts together, lady’s Pearl’s face along with Prince Eugene changed to something I’ve never seen like this since the Eclipse blade left to Prince Alter’s side.

“Lady Pearl, Prince Eugene, what is happe–” The sudden pressure of power weighed on my body like a whole continent was on my back. I didn’t feel anything before… Could it be?

Prince Eugene and Princess Pearl felt this before me, and they know what this power is… more like they know who it belongs to.

I regained my composure, I couldn’t let both future monarchs of the dragon kingdom see me like this. Not today at least.

The commotion that reached the hallways later reached the nursing room, the opened door revealed hordes of armed angels in black armor running the opposite side. Clashing against the angel civilians running for their lives.

I decided to ask an angel nurse that seemed more calmed than anyone around, before I even opened my mouth, the nurse spoke in a casual tone.

“If you are curious about what is happening you should go and see it yourself before you start doubting the existence you call ‘prince’.” She then took out a needle and extracted some medicine that was next to her.

“The prophecy is finally arriving to such an era, changing everything that was proclaimed to happen. Changing even fate itself is like erasing a line and connecting it to another.”

Before I could even process what the nurse had said, I sensed mana in the air change. Mana itself is alive and happy, but this made it turn around. The feeling of mana fear whatever there was…

The sound of an object falling made my head turn. Witnessing seven silhouettes standing around the bed where Princess Pear and Prince Eugene were.

“Who are you and what are you doing standing around the future monarchs of Ezar for?” I said, releasing mana into their direction only for it to nullify a few inches away from them. I dashed forward, unsheathing the golden sword from my waist and slashing forward into them.

“Chuzeoth don’t, they are–” Princess Pearl screamed but I didn’t back down, instead I rushed even more, using even more mana.

Raising my sword above my head and bringing it down with full force. Even if they are able to nullify my mana they can’t be strong enough to stop my attack, I thought.

I myself, was strong enough to challenge a Marshal and be toe to toe–including the other dragon generals, they too were strong–using mana and physical.

However, these strangers were stronger than anything I’d faced before. Their strength felt unbelievable, while some say that my strength was that of a boulder, their strength was that of a mountain.

“So this is the power of the famous dragon general, Elder Chuzeoth himself.” said the woman who held my blade with her bare hand, making my attack look like it was a child swinging a sword and nothing else.

Her amused and yet disappointed expression poured onto my pride, showing, telling me that I didn’t stand a chance against her or any of the ones present. I gritted my teeth to such cruel thoughts of reality hitting me.

Moments played in my mind, moments that brought discouragement and isolation. All negative emotions that couldn’t be described were displayed like trophies in my head, trophies that had sentences engraved into them saying that my loyalty to the future and momentarily monarchs would be forever and everlasting.

The day I, myself, declared to Prince Onyx that I would protect him and shield him of the evil things this universe had to throw in his direction. Yet that promise I made to him was never fulfilled, instead I was met with an unexpected turn. The sudden absence of the Crowned prince that participated in the war that the basilisk and demons initiated, giving his life, his powers towards someone that he met through a vision, a prophecy.

This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.

Allowing such a person to have control over his powers, his memories, even his appearance. Having to think that only made me feel rage, a strong hatred towards the human impostor that was using his powers and influence to stop the war between the elven, demon and basilisk.

He stopped one only for another one to initiate, taking in the residences that inhabit the continent of Afreon. The human took into account that he no longer had the power to stop another full fledged war by himself and searched for those that had the potential of rivaling the power of a marshal.

Training them for months and getting them ready for something that they never had experienced before. Converting them to his pupils, having them protect the continent he was born in while he was gone. Disappearing for six years, not letting a single soul know his location of such time.

During those times, random letters were sent from different dimensions into Ezar. The letters often had the words ‘help us’ and ‘alliance’, a pre-existing being that went from one dimension to another. The piles of letters with detailed descriptions of how this individual was, a darkish gray long coat along with some strange structure symbols that were on both sides of its arms.

I was sent into those dimensions to see if this situation was real or not, taking up to months and sleepless nights until we found the description that was said in the countless letters.

But everytime we got close to catching him, he would just disappear from existence.

The only thing we got from him was the name that they would call him, every letter, every living thing, called him something that I have never heard in all my years of living.

Giving me a sensation that I have never felt before, an icy cold chill went down my spine just remembering it, even seeing the name would tell me how strong this being was…

The name that this being was inflicted upon was… Angel Of Death.

Maybe, just maybe these people in front of me could find and get rid of the entity. I thought to myself as the woman didn’t seem to break a sweat from stopping my attack.

They–

“Chuzeoth, lower your weapon… that's an order.”

Being dragged into reality, my common sense came back. I realized that what I was thinking was not me but someone else… I quickly lowered my weapon, not wanting to disobey an order from the princess.

Sheathing my sword back into the side of my waist, then the unidentified woman began to talk. But this time with more respect than what she had towards me, leaving me baffled that I wasn’t worthy enough to have it.

The hooded woman kneeled, putting her right hand over her heart. “Princess Millguard, I’ve come to inform you that a star along with another marshal are headed this way.”

“I expected another marshal but a star…just how much of a threat is he?” Responded the princess in a concerned tone. The mana in the air then moved towards her, with both of her eyes closed she then proceeded to send the mana away like little birds.

A minute or two passed with no reaction from the princess, it was quite unsettling seeing her like this. I tried getting close to her but a hooded man stopped me from doing so, instead he carefully read my expression and said, “Don’t worry about the princess, right now she is using the mana around her like a detector.”

“Detector?” I asked. He nodded to my question and proceeded, “Disturbing her concentration would not only bring her to unstable conditions but a disadvantage to us too.”

“Disadvantage? What are you talking about?” The more he said the more there was to the picture than what I saw, I expected an answer from him but he didn’t even say another word. Instead he walked towards the princess and the hooded woman and muttered something, something I couldn’t hear.

It appears that the hooded woman is the leader of the group, the rest are just her lackeys.

I stayed in the same spot for more than twenty minutes, lost in thoughts, unconnected thoughts. These thoughts came in many forms and colors. Some are like ‘what is their motive of helping us?’, another being ‘how long did the princess know them to deem them trustworthy?’

Whatever their motive was appearing here to help us, to me it didn’t look like they wanted this aspect to end anytime soon… no they are in search, in need of something that we have.

I focused my gaze on the princess, she was opening her eyes. Sensing the mana that was sent out earlier come back, I believed that everything was stable.

But why… why are the princess’s eyes in a state of shock, what did she detect outside?

Her eyes that were glued to the sheets she was covered on, slowly raised and looked at every single cloaked and hooded person in the room before speaking in a disbelieving tone.

“What is your plan? From what I remember, having Alter’s old self come back wasn’t part of it!”

“It seems that you have gotten everything wrong princess. You don’t remember there being a saying of the chosen one’s old self because it was never meant to be shared with you in the first place.” Stated the hooded woman with a serious voice as she looked into the wall, almost like she was looking through it.

She stretched both of her arms to shoulder level like she was accepting something from the above. “The second coming of the ‘Halo King’ is here and no one here can stop it from happening… or should I say the ‘Angel Of Death’...”
