“You found them? You really found them Mr Sain?!” Aria said in shock and joy running up and grabbing Sain so he couldn't escape without telling her all the news.
There was so much joy in her tone and in her face that Sain could not bare to push her away. Doing such a thing might break the sheer happiness that could only be elapsed by actually being united with them.
“Thank you, thank you...sob” she said tearing up.
“Ah...”
Tears came down her check as she realised that she could be reunited with the remainder of her family. However, even so, she let Sain go after a few seconds as she knew from personal experience that Miriel did not like other girls to be attached to Sain.
Sain also knew this and said nothing of it. But he figured that Miriel wouldn't do anything too dangerous with Aria since she was still one of their quest givers and they were on a Guild Quest currently.
“Please calm down Aria. I will tell all about it as well as the information me and Shadow gained due to that tip on that shack” said Sain moving a bit away from Aria just in case Miriel was watching. Even though she was less...active if you could call it, the number of stares increased and the number of times his 'Sense Killing Intent' skill has activated increased as well.
The skill after a month or so upon gaining it was almost already at the Intermediate Level though some of it was due to the dangerous acts he and Shadow did for the last 2 weeks. There were some close calls and this skill helped them escape from the 'eyes' of the turrets.
“Turns out it was a treasure grove though Sain refused to remove anything from it” said Shadow entering the hideout as well. He had hands on the back of his head and relaxed as he walked in. He had this carefree feeling to him and looked like he was part of the background.
It was a good thing for him to be easily hidden from the gaze of enemies but a bad thing when his allies, like himself sometime did not know where he was and therefore had no idea how to proceed. Shadow's natural lack of presence and his 'stealth' skill made him near impossible to find when he properly hides.
“I see” said Aria to what Shadow said though partly not realising that it was him who said it. She really did not care of any news besides that her siblings were found right now. But she quickly realised that Shadow was indeed there and panicked for a split second before calming herself.
Aria took a look at Shadow and bowed to him slightly for his good work but did not thank him as well. For what she knew, Sain was the backbone to all the group and he was the only to respect while everyone else was below him which was a bit true if not for the fact that Sain placed the others above himself when he can.
“Hmm....nah” said Shadow as he looked away from Aria.
Shadow did not mind this attitude that Aria took to him and shrugged it off. At least she didn't completely forget about him despite being told both of them were doing this and the fact that his presence wasn't that high compared to the others, especially recently.
“I did say that there were probably some powerful people connected to what was there right? That level of blackmail material can't simply be there without a reason and even more so since we were tipped off to it” said Sain shaking his head to what Shadow just said before. Shadow had been bothering him for the trip back due that and that conversation was about to be picked up again.
“Doesn't mean we couldn't loot the place, there were even potions there!” Shadow protested as the two of them walked to the meeting place.
“To be fair, there wasn't really anything of value besides the potions” said Sain justifying himself again.
The two plus Aria who was moving along behind them and not saying anything reached the 'main' area where they talk to each other.
There they met with the rest of the group and Hale who was currently talking to several people and giving them missions. These people were those who the group saved during these last two weeks.
There were only a small amount of people but each of them had unique skills that made them valuable enough as they all used to be part of the construction team of the city.
“Those potions themselves were probably a trap to see if we would fall for it by taking them” explained Sain, “We don't know what's in them unless an alchemist told us what was in them. Perhaps they were poisoned or had other effects, even with my identifying skills I couldn't see anything about the content of the potions. And for we know they were observing us as I ransacked the place and put it back together though there wasn't much to see in there.”
“What is this about potions?” asked Miriel turning over to hearing the name of that super expensive product.
Potions in Royal Road were rare. Not because of the material restrictions, if it were so then there would be other problems but because potion makers hold a monopoly on the supply of potions. This jacked the price up to extremely high even for the most basic potions.
But a good potion could easily decide defeat or victory in a battle. Having to recover health instantly, or various buffs that the potion may give could turn the tide potentially or allow one to. As such, everyone desires it but even more so in the later years of the game, potions were an extremely rare product else you were a potion maker or knew one.
Even the group only had a select few basic potions that weren't that useful anymore but would sell for hundred gold each. That was how valuable they were.
“Don't worry about it” said Sain automatically since this could derail what he really wanted to talk about. He expected for Shadow to keep his mouth shut about it especially since Miriel was very picky on money and anything about it.
There was one time when he left some copper on the ground, not picking it early in the game, about the same time when they were just starting to go out of the city to train and level up. A 2 hour lecture that was thankfully interrupted by monsters attacking them was about money and how important it was even though it was a copper and at most a few copper coins.
This continued later on and got stronger as copper coins turned into silver coins and the rare gold coins for their level. According to the Royal Road forum, gold coins were only dropped from boss monster, rare monsters that haven't been hunted much and higher levelled monsters.
“Sain found potions and didn't take them.” And he was wrong. Shadow did talk about it...immediately.
“Shadow!” Sain raised his voice at him but Miriel seemed to be more concern about why Sain did not take the at least 100 gold each potions with him back here.
As such, Miriel was glaring at him and she said one word to him that wanted to know all, “Explain.”
You have sensed a dangerous presence
“Umm...ah....” Sain did not know where to start. The first bit being that he found information under the false bottom of the chest that the potions were in and more on how the shack was almost completely empty besides that chest and that there was so little security to that place as well.
There were too many points that led him to believe it was a trap than anything else.
“Actually don't explain” said Miriel changing her mind, “You're here because you found something out right?”
Sain felt he was lucky that Miriel didn't kill him there.
“Yeah, the location of Aria's siblings among other more disturbing things” answered Sain with a nod.
“Good, we can begin trying to save them then” said Hale confident that they would be able to get them out wherever they are. Aria nodded and said, “I will be praying for your success” encouraging them as well.
“Okay, tell us where it is and we will charge in and take care of it!” said Lyndis with complete confidence that they will succeed. She had a heroic face that could charm most people with a glance right now. Sain wondered why she didn't have the charm stat.
Lyndis was more than happy to get some action and even more happy that Aria was going to be with her family if they succeed. She and Aria had been getting better along especially since she was a new face and a new person to talk to.
Because of this, she took a couple of things such as rope, food and bandages with her as she opened her inventory window to get out her armour and weapon.
“What are you doing?” asked Sain frowning. He did not like that Lyndis was planning on charging in without a plan at all. Such a thing would be the actions of an idiot that thinks power is everything when they don't even have power to do anything.
“Leaving” she replied in turn. She had this determined look on her face.
“....”
As Lyndis got ready to leave immediately, putting on her armour and such already in a matter of seconds not even bothering to adjust it so it fitted her. In such a sloppy shape, Miriel stopped her and Sain stopped her as well and asked, “And what will you do when you reach there?”
“Charge in, kill lots of bad guys and save the people trapped there” Lyndis replied bluntly.
“That is a stupid idea of a plan” commented Miriel with a sigh. Almost four years and nothing changed in her attitude to plans.
“Well it's better than not doing anything. There might be a chance that Aria's siblings and other people will be killed before we get there if we stand here” Lyndis warned. This caused Aria to pale as a result but in turn Sain said:
“And do you know where they are?”
“No” Lyndis frowned. For some reason, she felt that Sain wasn't going to let her go like that but still asked, “Are you going to tell me?”
Contrary to her feelings Sain answered, “Yes.”
Lyndis' frowned increased as such as she asked, “Why?”
Sain let out a soft gentle smile that made her be reminded of Alena but at the same time it reminded her that he was mocking her and answered, “Because there's no point in not telling you.”
“Basically he's saying that even you won't rush in when you know where it is though we hope not” said Shadow adding in his own comment of it with a sly tone that made her want to hit him.
“....”
After a moment of silent, Lyndis asked in a demanding tone, “So where is it? Tell me already.”
“The Tower.”
“....”
Lyndis stopped at that moment, Miriel was shocked and Aria was on the verge of fainting now. All of them and really all of them knew that this was extremely bad news. It was like seeing that the sword to kill a boss in a game was given after the boss battle itself.
From the three weeks they spent in this city, they knew for a fact that the Tower was powerful. And powerful that they were fit to take on a siege. If getting to those siblings would mean getting through the Tower, then it was near impossible to do.
“The Tower as we all know is in the centre of this city. Though incomplete, most of it's defences were completed a long time ago” explained Hale in a solemn tone, “Besides the fact that he is made with the best physical and magical resistant materials the Kingdom has to offer, it has those invisible turrets as well. However the number of them is to the insane numbers and can fell a Dragon in mere moments.”
“....”
Fighting against a place that are hiding it's weapons and could fire at you at any moment in any quantity of attack that can take out a Dragon was impossible to beat normally as well especially when their total numbers only reach a dozen.
“So what do we do?” asked Miriel. She really had no idea on how to take it on.
To this question, he was thinking of it for a while now. There were several things they needed to do before anything else to make this work.
“First is that we need numbers. Second, we need information. Until we have these two things, we can't do anything at all” said Sain, “And there are already a few problems with getting that much alone in this place.”
“The numbers can be gotten via those the Tower pretty much pissed off, capture, tortured and so on to include the slaves as well” said Miriel, “However we need to be friendly to the residents since they will be the source of information we need.”
“But they won't help us...” said Serena in a worried voice. They had tried for 3 weeks on doing this but no one wanted to go against the Tower.
“We have no choice” sighed Sain, “From what I can tell, there is literally no way in getting into the Tower even with stealth since those turrets see through it no matter the level.”
Shadow furrowed his eyebrows remembering that his stealth that he was kinda proud of since it was in the Advance level was utterly useless on helping him escape. However the main weakness of the turrets is that they can only target physical beings...
But later on he learnt the hard way that there were magical turrets on the Tower that were made to counter his 'Become Mist' skill or similar. Magic and attacks that attack the soul or intangible was his skill's weak spot.
“Basically nothing will happen even if we charge in and attack right?” asked Lyndis now letting go of the plan to attack head on. Even a sneak attack won't work.
“Yeah basically we have nothing even if we know this. Even with more numbers, how do we equip them and how do we feed them. Our supplies for only us can only last us for a few more months at best. With more people this amount will decrease dramatically as well” said Sain in a serious and yet hopeless tone.
“In that case....” said Miriel with a similar tone to Sain, “We need to ask for help.”
“What help? We have no help here which is the problem” said Shadow. With no contact to the outside world...they had no player friends after all, they had no way on even spreading the information they had gain.
“What about the Guild then? We can spend some of our contribution points to get some help” said Miriel in turn.
“....”
There was some silent. They had around 12 thousand in points, closer to 12 thousand actually in contribution points to the Guild. They were unsure on what they can use these points to but at the same time they had almost 9 thousand contribution points to the Kingdom.
That amount of points were due to doing Guild Quests as well.
From what the group could find on the forums of the game, Contribution Points were hard to get since the quests involved in getting them were usually extremely hard. But at the same time, you could temporary get the service of powerful allies from the Kingdom, weapons and other treasures as well.
You could even use the points to incur favours as well. It's use is quite large.
But for the use in the Contribution Points in the Guild? They had no idea, each Guild had their own way on using the points though the functions are similar to how you would use it with the Kingdom.
“Will the amount of points we have be enough to complete both quests?” wondered Miriel frowning.
An A rank Guild Quest as equal to 10 B rank Guild Quests. A B rank Guild Quest was equal to 10 C rank Guild Quests and so on. Furthermore there were some more difficult Guild Quests on the same rank as well.
A C+ rank Guild Quest was equal to a B rank Guild Quest. The only difference of rank is due to the scale of the damage the quest requires you to fix. The group's fire Guild Quest, the one with the Demon King and army of Demons was a B+ rank Guild Quest.
But at the same time, the worth of these +rank Guild Quests are worth 10 times the rank they say, in other words they are equal to the Guild Quests ranked one above them.
Because of this, their orders to complete 5 Guild Quests is quite shoddy. Upon seeing it, it looked like it would be better to do higher ranked Guild Quests but it was so much easier to just do 5 easy D rank or lower Guild Quests instead of the higher ones.
On the orders, it said a C rank guild was equal to completing C of the lower rank Guild Quests when it was equal to 10 D rank Guild Quests and this only got worse as it got higher. But it was most likely the amount of contribution points to the Guild would vary after completing these Guild Orders as a result.
As for contribution points these Guild Quests give, a F rank Guild will give around 10, E rank will give around 30, D rank will give around 100, C rank will give around 1000, B rank will give around 5000 and A rank will give around 10 000 contribution points to the Kingdom.
However failing these Guild Quests are extremely bad. Even on a C rank Guild Quest you could lose 500-1000 Fame in one go.
But at the same time, they give around the same amount in contribution points to the guild as well. The only reason the group's contribution points to the guild is higher than to the Kingdom is due to Sain taking other means to increase it.
Following Guild Orders will naturally increase the contribution points to the Guild.
The Dragon that was wrapped around the Sun with stars falling around it were a symbol of the three Guildmasters the guild had. One of the 5 S rank Independent Guild, failure was not a option at all for them.
They had one B rank and one C rank Guild Quests on their shoulders right now. Upon completing it, they would receive around 6000 contribution points and complete one part of their Guild Orders that they still have another year to complete.
But how much would they need to spend to complete them for the help?
With all of this in mind, Sain sighed and said, “I'm contacting Eden. We need help to complete this or at least advise on what to do” and walked out of the room to talk to Eden privately.
No one stopped him since it was the only choice.
Eden always made people pay off their debt one way or another. They did not wish to rely on Eden more than they could as they may be thrown into things they cannot deal with later on as a result of early favours.
xXx
“Hello Hello?” asked Eden to Sain via messaging in a slightly cheerful tone. This was the exact opposite of what Sain was feeling right now.
“I need help and we have no way out” said Sain.
“Well that was blunt” Eden expressed some surprise there. Usually people sugar-coated things before telling him that, “What happened? I noticed you accepted two Guild Quests, quite brave on trying to complete my orders in one go.”
Sain took a breath in and started to explain.
“Basically the first Guild Quest led to Shia City that seemed to be taken over by NPCs who are controlling things from the shadows. The second Guild Quest is to stop this but we hit a problem, no several problems due to this.”
“Explain.”
“It looked like Little Droplet was part of the reason of this city turning into...a prison. No one is being let out even though only a few people are let in at a time. There are invisible turrets everywhere and god knows how many illegal stuff going on here. Drug dealing, extortion and even slave trading is being done here.”
“Ho...that kind of place would never have existed under Kingdom eyes. I'm guessing that communication is restricted due to this seeing that no one else got this news. The Kingdom suspect but only suspect at this point.”
“Right, another thing is that we got a quest to save some siblings as well and took it since it seemed to be connected to the Guild Quest involving Little Droplet. And I found out that we need to take over the city and complete the second Guild Quest in hopes to even complete it. And the worse of it Is that Little Droplet has a spy that knows what we were doing and left the city as well.”
At the end he sighed thinking through of what happened. It was one after another set of events that eventually led to nowhere.
“And you have no way on doing that which led you to contact me of all things. You have...around 13 thousand Contribution Points to the Guild. That's not enough to get the help from other members of the Guild you know, each person has a certain amount of contribution points you need to get them to you and the lowest is 20 thousand contribution points. This is also the amount that will be deducted if you fail any Guild Quest though it may go higher, the larger the screw up.”
“....”
It was that point that Sain gave up a bit. It takes them so long to gain that much contribution points but getting help from another member of the guild cost that much?!
“I'm pulling your leg here. The lowest is actually 10 thousand for something of a C rank Guild Quest. Normally other members can choose to accept a request for help or not but since it's an unique situation and you guys are new rookies, I'll make an exception this one time.”
Now with this, their contribution points could be reduced to around 3 thousand. However Sain had a way to increase the amount of points he could spend now...
“In that case, can I contribute knowledge to gain more points?” asked Sain.
“Sure. Tell ahead.”
Sain proceeded to tell all the information he got from the folders that were located under the false bottom chest that was filled with potions. And when he did:
You have gained a total of 9022 Contribution Points to the Guild for the information you have provided
Sain was quite shocked at seeing this amount. This was equal to completing around 2 B rank Guild quests and it was ironic that he would be using this to complete a C rank one...
“With this amount added on, you have a total of around 22 thousand points you can use now. You can get two members to help you out with this quest” said Eden lazily that it reminded him of Shadow a bit when he wasn't doing anything.
“....”
Right now Sain was thinking of whether to get one other member of the guild to help them or two. With one, he was more than certain they were powerful but at the same time unsure on whether that alone was enough.
But he rather not take any chances since if they failed...whether it is with one or two more members, things will get ugly.
“I'll get two thank you” said Sain in a polite tone. Even if it is two, if both of them were not suited to the task than sending this much was useless.
“Okay then, I'll send over Eart who is a earth user and Nue who is a string user to your side. Both of which should be beneficial to your quest. They will arrive in...two months I believe. Eart is actually in the Central Continent right now but Nue is currently in the Cursed Forest.”
Cursed Forest, one of the 10 restricted zones. For a player being in even one of them, they must have considerable skill. Sain was sure both of them would be useful especially since Eart was able to manipulate the earth which meant this entire city was his playing ground.
As for the one called Nue...a string user. He was unsure how it would help but since Eden said so...
“Now to deduct your points and tell those two to get their asses to you as quick as possible.”
You have hired the help of two members of your guild.
- They will arrive in Shia City in two months
- A total of 20 000 Contribution Points to the Guild has been deducted for this
The amount of contribution points to the guild decreased to around 3 thousand now. Sain sighed seeing years of work disappear that quickly but it was still better than failing.
And as if he knew what Sain was thinking, Eden warned one last time, “As part of this guild...failure is not an option. Complete both Guild Quests no matter what.”
“Understood.”
Sain was silent for a few more moments and then asked, “Eden, can you do me a favour?”
“Most people don't dare say that to me for a good reason.”
“...Even so I need to ask you to look into a couple of things to confirm something. If what Shadow said was true and what I think is right...then the spy from Little Droplet...”
“I'm listening.”
With that, Sain told him what he wanted to know. And with that, he left to tell the rest of the group what happened and what they needed to prepare for in the coming months.
xXx
And so another 2 months had passed by with the group and with that, the resistant group to the Tower working hard to prepare for the attack on the Tower when those two members of the guild appear to help them.
To summarise what happened in the two months, their numbers increased to 200 via them raiding slave trading areas where people were kept. Due to this, they were seen as actively opposing the Tower now and lots of people were hunting them now. But fortunately, the level of the enemies were quite low and they did not need to worry about pissing the Tower off since they were already.
But then there was an issue of space. They solved this by setting up several other locations to which they can hide out. In other words, safe zones were being developed under the nose of the Tower. The further away they were from the centre, the less influence the Tower had.
There was also an issue of food and other supplies as well. They had raided the supplies of the Tower frequently to solve this but with time, it became harder and harder to do so with less and less locations to choose from and the security increasing to the point that most of them were traps that weren't worth it.
They were reaching their limit here. And even though all of this happened, the other residents of this city refused to cooperate with them, mostly reporting on them even though some looked away as their help.
Because of this, Sain was quite thankful on the sudden appearance of two people he 'brought' to be here.
“It's been a while Sain” said Eart in a happy tone ignoring the stares he was getting from being knee deep in the ground as always. It seems his strange ability worked on concrete as well which was a powerful ability here.
However his lecherous eyes went on Miriel, Lyndis and Serena as he said, “Ladies, why don't you-”
At that moment, the second person that came with him, a seemingly young girl that was no younger than Serena appeared and used some sort of thin rope or string to drag Eart's face back forcefully.
“Perverted acts....will not be forgiven” she said cruelly.
This person from what Sain knew from Eden was called Nue. With long black hair that was as long as Serena's, in order words dropping to her legs but was curly or rather fluffy and bright eyes despite being black, one could think of this as a cute child if not for the fact that her hands were equipped with gloves that already looked like deadly weapons.
“Little Nue, what I was doing was not perverted but merely a gentleman's greeting here. You interrupted this greeting no knowing what I was intending” said Eart smoothly.
“Such acts...will not be forgiven” Nue said again while allowing string to shoot out from the fingers of her glove and wrap around Eart even dragging in back a bit.
Sain noticed that her eyes turned bright amber instead with her iris similar to a snake's at this moment. At these times scales seemed to appear around the area of her eyes and on the black of her hands.
“A snake eh...” Sain suddenly felt a small kinship with Nue now. After all, didn't the others say that his eyes were similar to a snake or a lizard when he used 'Boost'.
“I'm Sain, nice to meet you Nue” said Sain in a manner that was extremely polite with his hand out to shake.
Nue did not shake his hand and instead said, “Can't shake. Poison gloves” gesturing at small amounts of unknown liquid that was on the sharper end of her glove.
Sain took this chance to inspect the glove more closely. The glove was quite unusual since he couldn't tell what was underneath it though he knew that her hands were being wrapped by string or wires or a combination of both. Furthermore there were some metal rings at parts of around her fingers as well.
The mechanics of this, how it worked and how Nua knows how to use this, Sain has no idea.
“I understand” said Sain while smiling and understanding.
Looking around at the place, Eart moved around and said, “It looks like you're ready. We can do and take down in Tower place any time you want though I don't understand why you needed numbers when you had us.”
“Oh there are several reasons and I can't take all of your time since Eden said he forced you two here” replied Sain courteously to them. But when Sain said that, Nue tugged on his shirt and said, “It's bad to hold back...”
“Hmm?”
“You can insult Eart if you want. He's a hopeless pervert” said Nue which caused Eart to let out a wry laugh to the side.
Eart looked around and he was still getting those stares. He decided to do something about this since both he and Nue were getting strange looks. Well they were both admittedly strange people to begin with.
“I think we should introduce ourselves first to everyone here to make them less tense” said Eart looking around. Right now, they were all in this room with a large table that has a replica of the city on it.
On the walls are detailed maps and other information on people they need to take down as well. Along with Sain, there was also the rest of the group, Hale and those who were freed and took up the cause against the Tower which numbered to around twenty.
“My name is Eart 27, a level 741 Earth Slave. Basically I can control almost all earth and use most earth type skills like this” Eart raised his hand and from it, concrete started to move to form a orb and a hand grabbing onto it.
“Those turrets you hate, I can detect them and disable them from afar as well” he added which made several people wide eyed to such a skill. Then they looked at Nue to introduce herself as well.
“I'm Nue, level 688 String Master” she said in a indifferent tone. There was some shock to this, though it was mainly due to Nue looking so young.
As a precaution, Miriel asked, “Nue...how old are you?”
“Fourteen” she replied. She was the same age as Serena who started the game a year ago. Now there were more questions than answers now that they knew this.
“And...how long did you start playing?” Miriel further asked with some sweat on her forehead. She knew that someone like Nue could instantly kill her right now.
“Since I was seven I think. Mum and Dad brought me in and I played around until Eden found me” Nue replied nodding her head, “The glowing light magic Eden showed me was really really pretty.”
“....”
Everyone was silent as Nue said this. They could not put two and two together to say that this person was extremely powerful. However the group knew this to be true. Everyone in the guild was a monster in one way or another.
Even though they had passed the level 200 point, they were as strong as a level 250 in fighting and it took them almost 4 years in game to do this. Nue had 7 years in real life or 28 years in game to get to her point which was not so surprising when you think of it like that.
With that done, Sain was about to tell them on what they have to do and said, “Anyway I want you-”
BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!! BOOM!!
Four loud impact hit the building causing it to shake. They were in a building that was similar to an apartment.
“What's going on?!” someone shouted.
Another person looked around, at the crumbling building and shouted, “We're being attacked!”
“The turrets are comin-”
BOOM!!!
The last person to speak died when something large and hard hit them and blown him to pieces. Sain was quite shocked here. He did not expect them to find them at this exact moment. It was horrible luck that they attacked now.
“Eart! Nue! I want you two to attack the Tower. Eart should disable and destroy as many turrets as possible while Nue should focus on personals that the Tower will send!” Sain shouted while holding onto the table as the ground as shaking.
He noticed that both of them were perfectly calm and also not even bothered by the shaking ground.
“Roger~” said Eart in a carefree tone moving to the side of the building. There, it seemed that several turrets shot at him since a volley of attacks went to him. However in an instant, a massive concrete shield appeared to protect him.
“Earth Lances~!” Eart shouted waving his hand and firing off those attacks through the large concrete shield he made.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Five of those attacks went out judging by the sounds of the impact and there weren't any more attacks on the building. At this time, Hale was screaming commands out and the group was preparing to battle.
Aria was standing there shaking no knowing what to do. Sain left Lyndis or the others to help protect her but realised there was no time for that.
“Lyndis! Leave Aria's protection to Hale! We're going to attack now!” Sain shouted in a commanding tone that even drowned out everything else in sight. His tone had a frightening feel to it as Sain was quite angry that they were attacked out of nowhere.
Was his suspicions right? Was there a traitor among them? None of the group were suspected but those who they freed and others were...
“Hale! Organise the attack, we're going to take the Tower in one go, secure a parameter around it and lock it from the rest of the city” Sain ordered to which Hale immediately started telling other people what to do.
If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
This was one of the things they thought up in their attack. The Tower was frightening itself but they also needed to be on guard against enemies attacking them from behind. Therefore the simple way to resolve this is to stop them from attacking you from behind.
One way was to eliminate them, another was to distract them and the last was to physically block them. Sain was sure that a large number of people were putting all three ways into practice right now as the group left with Eart and Nue heading directly to the Tower.
“Good luck” Hale said those last words as he saw the group left.
xXx
In the way to the Tower, the group and the other two members of the guild ran in formation. Basically Nue was at front, Eart second and the rest of the group third. Though it looked sloppy, it was quite powerful with Nue and Eart at the front though the reason Eart was second was because the girls felt uncomfortable if he was behind them.
“Another batch of enemies coming our way Nue!” Eart warned while moving forward without running. He was pushing the earth so he was at the same speed as the rest of the group. On his arms were blocks of concrete reformed into arm guards as large as shields to block attacks.
“Right.”
Nue sped up letting loose her string and fling herself forward a few metres over the air in extremely speed that made spider-man’s swinging look slow. There, a group of five enemies, those kinds of guard NPCs this city had ran at them to confront them.
“Hanging Wire Net!!” Nue said those words and a few wires shot out of her gloves connecting to each other like a net. And as she passed those five guards...
CUT!
In an instant, no it took a second for their bodies to respond to the attack; their bodies fell apart leaving behind bloody remains as Nue shot pass them.
“!!!”
Seeing this, every last member of the group was jaw shocked seeing this kind of skill and power. Foes that would at least take them moments to defeat with a few skills here and there was instantly killed.
Seeing them like this, Eart let out a laugh and said, “Out of everyone, aside from our guildmasters, Nue has the strongest attack against enemies, especially humans and elves who have the weakest defence of all races against extremely sharp attacks.”
“How is that possible?” exclaimed Shadow, “That little girl no younger than Serena is able to do all of that without hesitation. Even Serena is still afraid of blood.”
“She is someone who can survive in one of the 10 restricted zones alone. Anyone who can do that is a monster in their own right” said Eart though at the same time noticing that turrets were appearing at the walls of the buildings they were about to head to. They did not detect Nue since she was too fast and too small as a target.
“Don't fall behind here else you will die!” Eart warned the group beforehand.
“Earth Lances!” he shouted producing that attack from the ground that he passed and shooting them rapidly at the turrets that in turn fired back.
Bang! BOOM!! Bang! BOOM!! BOOM!! Bang! Bang! Bang!
A series of explosions were taking place with Eart using his 'Earth Lance' attack as a rapid fire spam type attack and at the same time, from what Sain observed to be preparing for something else.
“Shattering Break!”
From where Eart was, though he was still moving, two rumbling presences went through to the sides of those buildings and onto the walls.
BREAK!!!
And at the same time as this rumbling presence came about, the wall on the side of the building broke a part causing those turrets that they could not see but yet could tell were there due to them firing fell with the wall.
“Waaaah!!!” Sain was not sure who it was but someone let out that scream seeing the walls of buildings they were running to breaking down and falling.
“Hmp! Earth Walls!” Eart shouted again this time causing a series of two pillars to shoot up from the ground diagonally to block the wreckage that was falling down in front of them. Seeing this, Eart let a grin to the group.
Sain could only sigh, were every member of the guild this flashy? But still Sain had to ask, “Can you not destroy the city too much? One of the conditions of the Guild Quest we need to finish is to make sure the city is intact afterwards.”
“In that case be thankful Eden didn't come. Out of everyone, he specialise in structure destruction even more than me hahaha” Eart let out a laugh after saying that as all of them sprinted to the Tower at speeds quicker than before.
Miriel's 'Melody of Sound' buff boosting their agility, Sain's 'Swift Legs' buff that increased agility as well and all of them using 'Boost' at the same time increasing their base stats and the effects of these buffs made them go four times faster than normal though their stamina was being drained twice as fast.
But even so...they were barely keeping up with Eart who was actually only going at a faction of his full speed and was only using part of his full power against the waves of turrets that keep on coming.
“Oh there seems to be a large number those turret things that you can't see up ahead” said Eart a bit surprised for once.
“That must be a borderline to the Tower. In there, there's a much higher quantity and density of turrets to the point they can take down a dragon” explained Sain with a warning.
“A dragon? I can smash a weak dragon into pieces with one blow!” said Eart with confidence, “But a higher grade dragon or god forgive a Dragon King? This city would be levelled even with those turrets though normally people were scared enough of a weak dragon.”
For some reason, the group agreed with this statement.
xXx
A while later as the group with Eart leading and Nue off somewhere clearing enemies so they didn't get close Eart stopped all of a sudden and the group a bit stunned also struggled to stop in time without running into Eart. They were already going quite fast and for so long that they were used to running at this speed for now.
“Why did you stop?” asked Lyndis. She almost tripped over due to the sudden stop.
“The reason for stopping is...?” wondered Miriel, while Eart was a pervert she wanted to kill, he was powerful and would only stop against powerful foes.
“Just wait and see....I'm not sure on what to expect as well” said Eart looking serious and not making a joke about something this time.
The reason for them stopping, they soon saw.
“What the hell is that?!” exclaimed Lyndis who was pretty sure she couldn't beat that. It was so...large.
“That can't be...” said Shadow in shock in a different way. That thing that they all saw was...even though it looked really shoddy and incomplete and kinda stupid to begin with.
““““““A Gundam?!””””””
Even though it's colour was off, it was a dull bronze colour, even though it looked more like a giant tank on the bottom half with it's legs have wheels to move, it's resemblance to a Gundam was quite high.
The hit mecha series that still ran through even now when the show is extremely old with several remakes of the older series with some hits and many defects.
And all around it's body were equipped turrets as well that were clearly visible. It seemed that they didn't make it so it was invisible though that may be due to the thing being so large. To describe it, only the top half looked like an actual Gundam. The bottom half were more or less two tanks equipped to it as well.
“Oi oi oi, where is Nue to deal with this? She can just cut this thing into pieces with her wires” asked Eart seeing at that Gundam like machine with a bit of terror. The thing looked frightening enough though it's firepower was probably quite high as well if they were bringing it out to use against them.
“It looked like she circled around that thing and went on” said Sain observing the path of cut up pieces of things. He was paying attention to the wrong thing right now. There was a 20 metre tall machine monster in front of them.
Bang Bang!
The Gundam monster thing turned and faced them now and produced that much noise and impact from just turning. It had started to targeted them.
Sain counted there were 4 large turrets on it's shoulders, another 6 on each leg and a dozen shattered around the main body. It was a walking, firing fortress of death.
“So....should I take care of it or should you guys?” asked Eart not sure on what to do now. He and Nue were ordered to support the group and not lead them. The decision was up to them to decide.
“....”
He looked up at the mechanical monster and pondered how heavy it was.
“We'll take care of it” said Sain considering it. It was a rare chance to take out something that was unknown to the rest of the world. Plus he had a plan though it was mainly centred around Raven if he was right.
“Eh?”
Shadow was surprised, hopefully he wouldn't need to be bait again. Lyndis on the other hand was excited for this battle. Miriel sighed while Serena and Raven prepared for battle as well.
“Shadow be bait” ordered Sain immediately seeing that it would be bad news if that thing fired on them right now.
“Damn!” Shadow cursed and yet created several clones and made them charge in at the Gundam monster. He still obeyed the order even though he didn't want to. Sain had pounded in complete obedience in Shadow to what he ordered while no one was looking.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
The left shoulder turrets fired at Shadow who was moving at speeds that was barely leaving a shadow behind. It looked like he immediately used 'Burst Speed' and was switching from clone to clone to avoid hits.
His speed increased to the point that he leap off walls to quite a height though it was nothing to the 20 metre tall monster machine they were looking at. It was as tall as the buildings around it.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
All four hits missed Shadow but instead hit the area around him. Even if they did not directly hit which would result in an instant death, Shadow was being damaged bit by bit with the explosions. He would be reaching his limits soon enough.
Now that the Gundam monster was distracted and turned around to try and hit Shadow....
“Everyone except for Raven, break it's legs or at least one of them will do” said Sain already chanting his spells. Miriel and Lyndis prepared to use their unique skills while Serena was chanting a spell as well.
“Magic Arrows!” chanted Sain firing off his spell.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Seven Magic Arrows was fired from his hand and hit the Gundam monster's leg which was a bit thinner as it connected to the main body. However they barely did anything at all.
Without using 'Compressed Magic Mastery Release', was this the limit of his attack even with Boost doubling his stats and doubling the power of his spells?
“Leaf Slicer!” Serena chanted firing off a series of sharp green blade like things at the same place that Sain attacked. Unlike his attack, it seemed to have a small effect at least making some holes though Sain it's due to the fact that the spell Serena used was meant to target living creatures instead of a robot.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang....!
But the same results was given like when Sain attacked it. It looked like it was highly resistant to most minor attacks. However next Miriel and Lyndis both at the same time fired off their skills.
“Take this and Freeze! Rage of the Ice Dragon!” “Burn to hell you bastard! Wrath of the Phoenix!”
From Miriel came a gush of ice that quickly formed into an Eastern Dragon and roared as it moved to attack the enemy and from Lyndis came a wave of flames that formed around her body in the shape of a Phoenix that was breathing fire out at the same enemy
BANNNNNGG!!!
BOOOMMMM!!!
“Eeeck!” Serena let out that sudden scream seeing that everything actually went bright out of nowhere from the aftershock of the two attacks.
Sain figured that both of them poured most of their mana and stamina into these attacks.
One leg of the Gundam monster was covered in ice and thus was prevented from moving and the other leg was being boiled by the flames that continuously surrounded it. It was an unusual sight of both ice and flame working together though there was a clear line on where both attacks clashed.
“Damn...” cursed Sain silently. He was hoping that this thing would not be that strong and was only large in size.
However there was literally almost no effect on the Gundam monster. Thus the attacks were literally in vain.
But....
“As expected, this thing can't be damaged with normal means” said Sain with eyes sparkling. For some reason Raven was standing next to Sain and had the same sparkling eyes as well.
“Wait why the hell did we attack it then?” asked Lyndis surprised that Sain would make them attack a monster they could not beat.
“Wasn't that just a waste of mana and stamina then?!” retorted Miriel at the same time as Lyndis.
“Just wondering how strong it is to regular attacks” said Sain in reply.
“....”
The two stared in disbelief at Sain.
Ignoring this, he turned to Raven and then asked, “How many times stronger can you increase the gravity around your attacks?”
Raven put up three fingers meaning he could increase it three times which was impressive itself. This mean by punching, he would deal three times the damage compared to normal.
“Three times eh...” muttered Sain but Raven shook his head and said, “Thirty.”
“!”
Sain was now quite shocked. Thirty times...no, it made sense since whatever that invisible and transparent thing that was surrounding him right was quite powerful. His punch could increase in range and increase in size and thus power as well.
Plus a punch's damage was quite low but when Raven first used the power, he was able to flip giant monsters that were several times larger than him with ease.
It seemed that his and Shadow's powers were the most unique while Lyndis and Miriel were the most flexible and Raven and Serena's powers were the most powerful in direct strength.
Sain made a mental note to study the abilities they gained with 'Boost' more deeply. He didn't before since he wanted to improve their base stats more. Now that they had grown, the effects of 'Boost' increased as well.
But without an actual skill window, he could not tell how powerful these abilities were.
However even though Raven's 'Boost' abilities were based off gravity, it was unable to make a gravity field. Was there still some room for growth...or is there something missing?
“Okay then, please smash that thing before Shadow dies” ordered Sain putting away his regrets on destroying such a wonderful machine. It was an enemy right now and frankly it was too big to admire. It being this large meant that whoever made this was unable to completely replicate it in game.
“About time!” Shadow screamed out of nowhere listening in on their conversation. It looked like he was still alive though at this point it didn't matter if he lived or not. Sain just preferred that everyone in the group lived.
“Yeah yeah, moderate heal” Sain sent that healing spell to Shadow to make sure he didn't die from complete health lost and once again said to Raven, “Attack before Shadow dies.”
Rave nodded and moved forward. He stood his halberd onto the ground and let go of his shields. It looked like he was able to that power unarmed. Sain made another mental note to later on change his equipment to that preference.
Sain felt like something was distorting around Raven's fist as he threw one out.
“Haaa!”
BANG!
A giant impact of a fist was formed on the front of the Gundam monster. The attacks the others used didn't even leave a dent on it and yet Raven's attack did...
“As expected, Raven seems to have the best compatibility against large foes” said Sain praising the power of the attack.
“Haaa!!”
Raven threw another two, three attacks at the Gundam monster.
BANG! BANG! BANG!!!
Another three impacts hit the Gundam monster but it still did not fall. Even though it took damage and left a noticeable dent on it, it was only to a certain extent and was already adapting to Raven's attack moving back a bit to reduce the amount of damage it would take by the third hit. It was still a giant machine monster that could kill them by just stepping on them.
And it's turrets were aimed at Raven now.
“Uh Oh” Sain was about to shouted to Miriel to place barriers onto them all. But-
“Earth Shield!” Eart screamed raising the ground to block the series of attacks directed at them and the group he was protecting. At some point, Shadow already moved behind this protective shield he made.
BANG! BANG! BOOM!! BANG!! BOOM! BOOM!!.....!!!
The shield endured but was in bad shape. However Eart started to attack shouting, “Earth Lances!”
The half broken shield turned into a weapon and shot at the Gundam monster.
BANG! BANG! BOOM!! BANG!! BOOM! BOOM!!.....!!!
Cracks and large dents formed on the Gundam monster but it wasn't enough to completely take it out. Even though Eart knocked out one of it's arms, it was still operational.
Then Eart shouted to the group, “I'll hold that thing here, get to that Tower place or whatever.”
“Got it” replied Sain already figuring a route in. Right now, they were literally in front of the Tower but they had no way to get in without resistant from that machine in front of them. With Eart blocking the way for them, this would be easy.
“Ah, Nue is over there” said Miriel pointing at the small figure that was coming this way as Eart continued to block the continuous turret attack from that Gundam monster. If there was any time to run for it, now was the time.
“See you” said Sain running over to where Nue was cleaning up the last batch of enemies outside the Tower itself.
“Wait, you're going just like that?!” shouted Eart struggling to keep up his 'Earth Shield' against the bombardment of turret attacks.
“More or less” Miriel chased after Sain while Shadow was close behind not saying anything since he was injured.
“Don't you guys have any sympathy to me?! I'm fighting this giant thing here!” Eart shouted again. This time, his 'Earth Shield' was being breached more quickly than before due to pin point attacks and he couldn't gather more concrete from the surrounding buildings fast enough to build a proper wall.
“Not at all~” said Lyndis holding Serena and running, following everyone else.
For some reason, Sain thought he heard Eart scream before long.
xXx
With her hair kinds dishevelled due to sprinting so fast and her hands drenched in blood, Nue has this frightening cold feeling around her as she looked at the group. The ones most affected by this were Lyndis who thought of Nue as someone similar to Serena and Serene herself who found herself to be more attached to Nue than others since she was the same age and yet so strong.
“Search around the area, make sure there is no surprises hidden away” ordered Sain. At this point, there was literally no one else in a 300 metre radius of the Tower. There was no need for that many people to guard this place with the Turrets and the Turrets did not react to Nue even when she chopped whatever guards into pieces.
The rest of the group quickly split up at the entrance of the Tower and went inside at different directions to see what was around on the first floor. Theoretically this would be one of the most heavily guarded places but there was no guard or Turret in sight.
“What do I do now?” Nue asked Sain considering that he was the leader here and the fact that he didn't signal her to leave to search around as well.
“....”
Sain thought of several plans but the main goal was to get rid of everyone who was an enemy in the Tower and save those siblings and others that were trapped at the bottom of it, hidden away for some reason he did not know.
“Go in the Tower, clear it out. Kill anyone who looks like an enemy and quickly to make sure they don't escape” said Sain.
“Then...” Nue pointed at the Tower that was over 50 metres tall, “Can I chop that in half?”
“....”
Sain was momentarily stunned at the suggestion but still considered it. How would the Tower fall down? What would happen to the people inside of it? But according to the information he found, the siblings were trapped at the bottom of the Tower not the top.
“Cut it at the middle and make sure it falls at where Eart is” said Sain, he was not taking a chance that the Tower would fall down and crush anything under it rather than fall to the side.
“Got it.”
Nue nodded to the order and started to jump on the side of the Tower, using her string to propel herself up higher and higher rapidly.
“What is she doing?” asked Lyndis who walked over, not knowing the conversation they had after coming back.
“Cutting the Tower in half” replied Sain before asking, “What's the situation inside?”
“Cutting the what? The inside of the first floor is completely empty, there's nothing in there. No people, not even turrets to defend them at all” Lyndis replied while looking up at Nue who continued to climb higher.
Thinking of what Lyndis said, Sain considered that those at the Tower did not believe that anyone could breach this far in. Because of it, the so called series of Turrets that could take down a dragon did not even fire at them once.
It looked like no one was paying attention to what was happening at the outside at all. Eventually some of the rest of the group returned all saying there was nothing inside at all. They would need to climb higher to search through the Tower but Sain had them stay here.
“What's going on?” asked Miriel though then looked up to see Nue rapidly running horizontally on the wall of the Tower where it is the thinnest.
“Amazing...” muttered Serena seeing this kind of skill.
“Wow, I can't believe someone can move like that in 3 dimensional space like that” said Shadow in praise for once.
A dozen loops later, all of a sudden a great CRACK sound was heard and then a loud BANG sound was further heard with Nue kicking the side of the Tower making it fall in a certain direction.
Fuuuuuuussssssssssshhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
The tip of the Tower that was cut at the 25 metre point fell from the skies and down onto the 20 metre tall Gundam machine monster. '
BAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!
A large number of corrupt officials of Shia city had been killed, progress on quest has increased
“....”
While the others looked at what happened in shock, Sain read this message and frowned. This meant there were more people they had to kill to finish this quest? And with the Tower collapsing like that, they would all want to run away.
However Eden or someone else from the guild or Kingdom would notice this and have the surrounding area guarded. Plus there was Hale with his resistance forces and the rest of the residents that will now probably cooperate with them now.
Sain would not let this city be freed just yet in order to complete the guild quest. He didn't care how long it took or what methods he needed to use to complete it.
Then, Lyndis while dragging Raven along shouted to Sain saying, “Hey I found something!”
“Hmm?” Sain looked over as Lyndis dragged the rest of the group with her. Eventually they went through the modern looking corridors to to an isolated door with several locks and chains on it.
“This looks to be the place right?” asked Lyndis.
“Good work” said Sain looking to Shadow and asked him, “Do you hav-”
“No I don't have a pickpocketing skill” Shadow interrupted when replying to Sain who was probably thinking that Shadow should have this skill. He was an assassin! He didn't need to pick locks to begin with!
“Looks like we need to break in” said Miriel with a sigh to Shadow's attitude. She chanted to fire off some 'Mana Bolts' onto the locks and chains and broke most of them with a couple of shots.
“This is taking too long” said Lyndis pushing Miriel aside. With a slight run, Lyndis did a jump kick to the iron door.
BANG!
And smashed through it landing on one knee going through the door, knocking it down in the process. Without a word, Sain followed in with Lyndis and started looking around. This place was dimly lit and there was a lot of dust here like this place was forgotten.
“....”
The group all frowned and found that it looked like this place was abandoned...intentionally.
“Let's search around” said Sain noting that the chances of those siblings being alive...was dramatically getting lower right now.
After some minor searching, they found some stairs and walked down. Looking around, this place was some sort of prison and in the cells were...
“People? They aren't moving...look pale and aren't breathing....” said Miriel after inspecting one of them.
Sain simply nodded and continued walking ahead as the others searched through the cells one by one. Eventually he found two siblings next to each other like they were in sleep, chained together. They looked somewhat like Aria but were really thin and pale.
“....”
He broke open the cell and checked their vitals.
“Heartbeats....breathing? They're alive?”
You have found Aria's siblings, but they are in dire state and are about to die
Sain was shocked and quickly checked their health. It was quite low, on the verge of being critical due to a lack of food and water.
“Moderate Heal!” Sain chanted using the spell twice along with 'Minor Heal' to keep them alive. It was strange but healing spells were able to sustain a person a bit even if their hunger levels were rock bottom.
Sain quickly took out some breath and broke it into small pieces and forced them to ingest it with a canteen of water each.
“I've found those siblings! They're alive but barely! Serena, I need you to cast your regenerative spells on them!” Sain shouted back to the others.
Serena's regeneration spells would counter any health decrease that may occur. She quickly did so and Lyndis and Raven carried one of the siblings in their arms.
“Now to get them back to Aria” said Lyndis a bit tear eyed seeing that these two managed to survive after so long.
“Right, me and Serena will continue to heal them...Miriel make sure they eat some more” said Sain handing over the bread and canteen of water to her, “So they won't starve to death. Our healing spells are useless if they die from starvation.”
Even if healing spells temporary halt death via starvation, it in the end would be too powerful and would take them in the end with certainty. And with that, the group and Nue left to meet back with Aria.
Completing the C rank Guild Quest would come after.
xXx
At the same time...
“Earth Eruption!”
A crater of earth exploded outwards revealing a person who had survived having a tower being dropped on him. Even though that giant Gundam machine monster was destroyed, he still lived!
“Where is everyone?” But he had to ask that question. He had no idea on where the others were and that he was forgotten.
xXx
“That...!” Aria looked in shock at the two people in the arms of Lyndis and Raven and immediately ran up to them.
With tears in her eyes she continuously said, “Thank you, thank you” to us.
You have completed the quest: Find the Lost Siblings
- You have levelled up x2
- You have gained 100 Fame
With this, they had levelled up to level 215. After a whole six months, half of that was spent in this city and thus they didn't gain that much in terms of experience with them not hunting monsters for a long time.
“Okay, we need to prepare to complete this Guild Quest, everyone, gather information on the state of the city” ordered Sain to which everyone left Aria to be with her siblings.
Right now, Sain was-
“Hmm?”
“Yo” said Eden via a message all of a sudden, “I've found the spy.”
“I see” Sain started looking around, there were several people around right now that were culprits. Personally he was thinking that Hale was the spy though this news kinda dampened the joy of siblings finding each other again.
“Who is it?” asked Sain to Eden via a message.
“After a long study of every person that could it possibility be, I've narrowed it down to several people and in fact it was near impossible to find the Little Droplet spy since there was so little to go on. However I have found that a person exchanged for being a spy...”
Sain was shocked on what Eden said afterwards. He felt betrayed, that person played them as a fool.
All along, now that he thought about it, that person was quite suspicious. Every action had malice intent behind them.
Every word was one that made sure that person did it's duty to Little Droplet. All along, that person was to not be trusted no matter what.
Sain drew his spear and raised his hand gathering mana.
“Magic Arrows!”
He fired seven magic arrows.....at Aria.
Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!
Three of the Magic Arrows hit with four of them missing due to his rage. She dared betray them, no she was a traitor from the very beginning! Making sure that they could not take tail to Little Droplet!
She sold thousands of lives to be tortured! Even if it was for her siblings, they almost died as well! No, it was more probably that she sold them out as well to lead them here, to trap them!
Aria coughed up blood after she was blown away from the attack. Several people turned their heads seeing what was going on but Sain didn't care.
Aria started to try and crawl away from Sain. From where her siblings were.
“Ha!”
Her true intents were revealed on near death. She didn't care of them, anyone but herself! She a person was a danger to the group.
DANGERS WERE TO BE EXTERMINATED!!!
“I wondered how those siblings survived in a near death state when everyone else we found were death for days. I wondered how we found information of them in the first place where you directed us. And I wondered why the organisation [Little Droplet] who created this damn situation in this city in the first place escaped the city exactly the moment we came!”
Saying those words, Sain no longer hesitated in his decision. Such a person could not be forgiven.
Standing above her crawling and injured body, Sain stood there like a God of Death to her.
She needed to die.
“Die!”
His spear that was beautiful and clear was strained with blood as he stabbed her in the neck, killing her instantly.
You have killed a [Little Droplet] spy!
- Contribution Points to Kingdom increased by 500
When that message flashed before him, Sain knew he was right and smiled. He was quite happy that this hole was plugged now though he had no idea on what to do with those siblings.
Well he had to figure it out later.
“SAIN!”
But first he turned to see Lyndis angered and charging at him shouting:
“WHY THE HELL DID YOU KILL HER!!!”
Her sword was drawn covered in flames as in a matter of a second, she moved next to him and slashed down.
BANG!

Author's Notes:
- Word Count: 12000~
- Maaaaaan that took way to long to write, it went all the way to 27 pages as well. Guess that means a bit more to read...
- I think I did find on what Sain was thinking when...both sides of him clashed when thinking of what to do and deciding on what he needed to do. Tomorrow, I'll write up the epilogue to this cliffhanger ending...
- Two reasons why this took longer than expected. One, I was reading and watching anime a lot and two I wrote a story for the valentine day's contest thing which stopped me writing on this chapter for a while.
