Vol.3 Chapter 2 - Conflict of Interests

“Now my request is simple....very simple” said Gen assuring Sain that this would not be too difficult at all. After all, Sain was a weak player who had less than a year of experience while Gen lived for decades with countless experiences.

“You will help me on a prank against that damn Jenny!”

Quest Update: Help Gen prank Jenny due to petty reasons

Gen requests you as a favour since you are of the same guild to help him prank Jenny, another member of the guild due to very petty reasons. Note that relations with Gen and Jenny will be altered based on the results of the quest in question.

Rank: C

Restrictions:

- Part of same guild as Gen

- High Intimacy with Gen

Reward: Being Taught new Spells

“....”

“What's with that disappointed look Sain? This is a very simple and yet dangerous request from me. Look at that quest rank of 'C'. This quest is on the same level as taking out a small army of monsters!” said Gen affirming that Sain did not read the quest rank wrong and this was indeed a 'C' ranked quest.

'A quest like this....this rank.....for a prank...? How much of a monster are these masters that the quest rank gets increased from F to C? But why is this limited to only Jenny? Wasn't Master on bad terms with Mel and Anna as well?'

“Umm...can I ask the reason why you are planning a prank on Jenny? I don't want to be dragged into....”

Gen made a hateful face remembering the event and explained it clearly, “Get this, Eden orders us to clean up after him...a natural thing to do in this guild sooner or later and forces me to group up with Mel and Jenny! That I can endure at least.”

'I see...so something serious must have happened then.'

“Things were going all right but then Jenny decided it was a fun idea to cast magic which dumped a whole lot of dirt onto me while Mel watched on laughing! For that I will get my payback on her, then it will be Mel's turn!”

“What did Mel do?” asked Sain feeling that there is something missing from that explanation.

“Oh her, she did something to Mel but that's not the problem here! She watched and laughed and didn't help me as I was dying from lack of air in my lungs! Both of them are guilty of this crime of nearly killing me and they will pay! First Jenny for the act and then Mel for watching!”

“....”

'This is....quite minor isn't it? Didn't Eden drop you three into a lake filled with monsters before which was a lot worse than this? I better ask.'

“What about the time Eden dropped you three into a lake filled with monsters? Aren't you going to get payback against Eden for that?”

Gen gave Sain was serious look and said, “Are you crazy? There are literally five people you do NOT mess with no matter what. Two of them are the rulers of this Kingdom and the last three happen to be the guildmasters of our guild! Pissing Eden off is worse then stepping on the Dragon's tail since it is stepping on a Dragon King's tail instead. Not to mention there is that other Dragon King with Eden as well not that I know where that one is now.”

'I see...though I know already, never mess with Eden, Alexandra and that other Guildmaster along with the two rulers of this Kingdom....good to know.'

Gen got closer to Sain and then whispered, “Now here is the plan....”

[p=center]xXx[/p]

“Miriel, now that your in this boat with me, you can help me out” said Jenny with a smile on her face though she was still covered in blood and holding a large nail in one hand and a red stained doll in the other.

'I don't even know what to do anymore....'

“I'll make the explanation very simple since you are a smart girl and don't need much to be of use to me. I want to humiliate Mel for what she did to me. How dare that wrench attack me out of nowhere and....and....”

Jenny's face was blood red with rage at Mel.

“....”

“And this is where you come in. Since I can take care of Mel by myself, I however cannot take care of the other people around her at the same time. Mainly it's just Park though....I need you to distract him so he doesn't interfere with my plan. He has this bad habit on getting in my way.”

“So...why couldn't you get someone else to do this Master?” asked Miriel, she did not know why she had to be dragged into this as well.

“Because I am your Master and you will have to listen to me right? Plus you're a freeman so when you die you come back either way” replied Jenny pushing the issue aside.

Quest Update: Help Jenny out with dealing with Mel

Jenny has requested for your small help in her revenge due to reasons unknown to you. The act of helping Jenny is a simple one but may prove fatal to Mel in the end. However you have given your word to help Jenny and as such will help her by distracting Park from whatever schemes she may have

Rank: C

Restrictions:

- Part of same guild as Jenny

- High Intimacy with Jenny

Reward: Experience

“....”

'Isn't this quest rank to high for something like this or is it because whatever Master wants to do is too dangerous to be compared to normal revenge?'

However despite this, Miriel decided this was a good thing since she was going to find Park either way and with this, her relationship with Jenny would improve and the one with Mel...probably will be fine as long as she doesn't find out that she helped Jenny in the end.

'I don't plan on having enemies....especially one from the same guild and especially one as powerful as Mel.'

With that thought, Miriel asked, “So how will I distract Park?”

“How would I know? Ask him to train you or something. He's a training maniac so ask him to to teach you how to use a weapon or something. He'll be glad since most of the time he's teaching snobbish brats!”

“Right” Miriel nodded to this statement. She remembered that Park was a bit irritated whenever he wasn't with Raven teaching him months ago.

“In that case, I'll go to Park today and start my training with him” said Miriel about to leave.

“Wait!” shouted Jenny stopping Miriel.

'What is it now?' wondered Miriel figuring that Jenny wanted Miriel to do something....probably delay things until tomorrow perhaps?

“Take this with you.”

“?”

Jenny gave some sort of small device that strangely looked like one of those listening devices that you would see in old spy movies. It was the size of one of those mini-phones that were 10 cm long and could easily fit into one of her pockets.

“Please this button here when you think Park is distracted enough.”

“Why?”

“Because it will allow me to more accurately attack Mel when he's not watching out for her” explained Jenny.

“I was on the impression that Park and Mel did not get along that well from what I saw back then.”

“Well they may be like that but in the end they do get along well enough that Park defends her and Mel supports him without attacking each other. It's only when you mention age in front of Mel that she goes crazy which is where I have to step in.”

Miriel nodded, she also didn't really like it when people mentioned her age intentionally though it was fine if it was in context. For some reason Miriel also got the impression that woman over a certain age was very sensitive of their age.

'I rather not be that kind of person later on...though according to Eden and Alexandra, they've been playing since near the beginning of this game so are they over a hundred years old each....? But I heard that the game auto age your character so it's more realistic though it's at 4 times slower than NPCs.......but seeing those two....why is it that they look young....as old as us or a bit older? Probably due to a skill or effect or something we don't know about....'

As Miriel was thinking about these things, Jenny was preparing all sorts of things. Disguised, scented potions that gave certain effects and...the core of her plan. A scroll that when ripped would allow you to cast the spell inscribed to it.

On this scroll however was a super forbidden spell that's existence was hastily erased by the Kingdom itself by the orders of the Queen. It was....a strip beam. The ultimate spell in disarming enemies from their armour and everything else....if this spell was to fall under the hands of an evil person and replicated, all womankind would be in danger. As such Jenny had to be careful but yet this was the perfect chance.

“Muhahahhaha, this will be the perfect revenge!” said Jenny ignoring that Miriel was watching her the entire time as she looked like a madman planning an evil plan.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Meanwhile at the same time....

“Park don't push people too hard to the point that it wouldn't be abnormal that they'll break!” complained Mel after healing another set of recruits that was brought into this training centre to be brought up as guards.

Unlike the other training centres in the rest of the continent, this one was exclusive to a particular type of people. Namely troublemakers and outcasts due to past actions that made them the enemy of the people though not enough to make them criminals to be eliminated. Their sins were not that large on the levels of pranks but had dramatic effects on those around them often harming innocent people as a 'joke'.

It didn't help that the majority of those who come here are dishonoured nobles who have bad attitudes.

“Not my fault. I need to hit it in that they are no longer who they are anymore” replied Park holding a training spear that he used to beat down 20 or so people together.

“This training is to show that numbers are useless against vastly more powerful foes. Also it's useful for me to relieve my stress.”

“....”

Mel sighed since this was probably the real reason in which he actually did this kind of training though it was part of his stress to begin with.

'A never ending cycle of stress gaining and stress relieving....' thought Mel as the next batch of 20 or so people came to be 'trained'.

“Just make sure that none of them are critically injured just in case I can't save them...I rather not get hassled by their families after all” reminded Mel to Park who already started to beat the new set of recruits that walked in with a wooden spear.

Mel sighed and remembered what happened only yesterday with Gen and Jenny.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

“AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Help Me!!!” shouted Gen from under a pile of dirt which was crushing him to death.

“That's for trying to play it cool when you are in the wrong~” said Jenny now cheerful since she relieved her stress from being insulted by Gen on him as well as the stress from the order Eden gave them.

(Sound of muffled words)

Mel looked on laughing but then realised quickly that at this rate, Gen will really die from the lack of air under that dirt pile and when Eden asks who killed him, the blame will also fall on Jenny as well as her. She needed to do something to save Gen...hopefully though it would be a good thing if he still died.

“Let the blessing of nature allow greater vitality in cursed lands....” whispered Mel under her breath chanting a spell to allow Gen to breath and survive even under that dirt pile which was stacked on him.

To place emphasis on the situation, the crater is roughly 300 metres wide and Gen was lying under enough dirt will half fill it up. It was a situation where you would normally died if not for his high level and even higher vitality and endurance stats.

With Gen's life now safe, Mel could rest easy that she will not be punished by Eden for an act that she did not do...

“Hey Mel, I wonder what will happen if I drop another stack of dirt on him” Jenny said already preparing the next stack to drop on him.

'Damn at this rate he will really die from the pressure alone! Need to make sure Jenny doesn't finish that spell!'

Without thinking about it much, Mel kicked Jenny into the hole as well which caused her concentration to drop and as a result also dropped a half finished stack of dirt she created on her as well.

Thud!

There was a clear solid sound as the dirt landed on her.

“....”

Mel stared hopelessly on what she now has to deal with. First was Gen that was dying slowly under a thick layer of dirt and second was Jenny who was under a fairly large amount of dirt about to kill her the moment she gets free.

'Well....not my problem now. Might as well regrow the plants in this area to recreate that portion of the forest' thought Mel completely avoiding the problem on hand.

It was only a few hours later that a certain maid dug them up after sensing their call of help via the vast amount of killing intent coming out of the ground which scared every living creature away in a hundred metre radius.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

“Since that Miriel girl is here as well and Jenny is certain to drag her into this as well, the most important thing you can do is to make her uninvolved in all of this” said Gen calmly to Sain.

“Umm....why do I have to do that?” asked Sain really confused on what was happening. Moments ago, Gen found out via some unknown method that Jenny had pulled Miriel into this as well. For some reason, Sain could hear the conversation that those two had as well....

“This device here is an advance listening device. I planted it on that doll that Jenny made as a voodoo doll that can repair itself. Great for knowing what Jenny will do next at these times since she would always relieve her stress on it alone in that library” Gen explained to Sain.

'Isn't this an invasion of privacy....?' thought Sain hearing about this listening device that Gen used.

“So...what is the reason you want me to get Miriel away from all of this?” asked Sain once again.

“Weren't you listening?! Jenny plans on doing something to Mel and though I have a bone to pick with her later, I want to interfere with Jenny as much as possible right now! That means I have to help Mel out on getting Jenny off her back...then I'll take her out as well in one go. Sometimes I'm surprised with my own brilliance! Hahahahhahha!”

'Why is that everyone in this guild is strange or crazy....? Eden and Alexandra are.....sort of fine(?) but my Master here as well as Jenny and so I heard Mel are these types of people....Park is somewhat normal while Ron is a pervert and Anna is strange in her own way according to the others....'

“Anyway go to tell that Miriel that you want to meet her” ordered Gen.

Feeling that something was left out in the details Sain asked, “Ask to meet for what? I don't think she's the type to talk about strategies we can use in battle since she left it up to me.”

Gen face palmed at that moment thinking that Sain was quite slow for his age and almost shouted, “A Date! For Gods Sake, ask her out on a Date!!!!”

“Eh???”

Sain was really confused now. Of course he knew the term of dates as in taking someone else out to hang out of the opposite gender but never seen anyone do it at all. He was too preoccupied on helping the other children out to do that. Plus there was no one close enough to do dates with though he had many outings with other children buying food and supplies every week or so.

However Sain was not going to question Gen right now since he had blood shot eyes and simply PMed Miriel saying:

“Miriel can we meet up for a bit?” he asked.

A few seconds later he got a response.

- Meet up for what?

“I want to go on a date with you” said Sain to the question since Gen wanted this outcome.

Sain looked and saw Gen face palming once again for unknown reasons.

- A d-d-d-d-date?! What the hell are you asking me you idiot?!

“Umm....so is this a yes or no on the date?” asked Sain much to his ignorance.

- NO!

The PM ended like that. Sain looked over at Gen and said, “She rejected me” with a slightly sad face.

Gen sighed and then said, “Of course she would....you were too straightforward.....my god to think that in my long life I would meet such an idiot on these matters.....I thought you could only find them in stories catered to young boys....”

Ignoring those insulting words to him, Sain then said, “In that case, shouldn't I just go where she is?”

“Yes, go to her. You know where the training centre is since you went there once on my orders right?”

“Yep.”

With that, Sain went to find Miriel in order to distract her and possibly drag her out of the 'kill zone' which would destroy anything in it including dignity and perhaps when the worse comes, people's lives as well.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

On the other side of the talk between Sain and Miriel was a Miriel which was completely red in colour and Jenny who was humorously watching her apprentice try and find herself after all of that.

“....”

Thoughts swirled around her had as she remembered Sain's words.

'He was so straightforward! I had to reject him else.................he might think of me less. Yes this is his fault. His fault for being so straightforward to me....'

Miriel started to blame Sain in her mind over and over again to calm her nerves down. Unknown to her though that from an outsider's view, she was extremely happy to get such words and was smiling gleefully on the matter.

“Miriel.”

That one word from her Master, Jenny snapped her out of it and also caused her to be completely red once again for an entirely different reason.

“Master....”

“Don't worry, I won't tell anyone that you were extremely happy to be asked out for a date but somehow still rejected the boy.”

“Master!”

“Right right, I'll leave out the rejecting part when I tell it. Also don't think I will stop now even if I saw something entertaining from you. Mel is still getting it in the end.”

“....”

Miriel stared unhappily at her master as she continued to talk.

“While I would love to take my revenge with this time....first I need you to still distract Park and probably that Sain boy” she said while also encasing the doll which was in her hand in some sort of barrier.

“This is a sound proof barrier....I had a feeling for a long time that Gen was listening in on me to be the one upper on me while he could...unfortunately I haven't been able to find a doll this...fine. My stress is relieved so quickly using this compared to other methods that I can't bring myself to throw it away. I intentionally let Gen hear the conversation we had until now.”

“....”

“What's with that look? So what with that Sain boy know that you were happy when he asked you out on a date.”

“Th-this and that are extremely different issues!” shouted Miriel trying not to fluster so much on the issue. Sure Sain was a nice person who helped people when he could, he was also a demonic commander the last time they hunted as well and yet had the selfishness on whether she was all right or not. Miriel couldn't pain where Sain's true colours lied even with the explanation of the 'mark' distorting his personality like that.

“Anyway, I also want you to distract Sain as well at the same time. He will be heading to you as well and you need to make sure he doesn't get in the way as well as distract Park at the same time. Got that?”

“Yes...” Miriel could only weakly reply to her master since she seemed too headstrong to stop what she was planning on doing.

'This will....not end up well.....right?'

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Later on, Miriel went to the training area where Park was to see a line of corpses...no they were still alive though their beaten up faces and bodies would say differ if you ask. And in the centre was an intimidating Park that looked like he came out of a serious and bloody battle.

“Group Healing! Ranged Injury Reversal!” chanted Mel quickly which reverted the bodies of those lines of corpses back into people quickly enough that they all live though they were still unconscious for most matters.

“....”

'What the hell just happened here? I feel like I'm missing something important in the chain of events.'

Wanting to ignore the sight and yet eyes still drawn to the massive number of people on the ground like that beaten up by Park, Miriel shouted. “Hey!” from the gates of the place to which both Mel and Park looked over to.

“Miriel?” asked Mel confused on why she was here. It couldn't be that Miriel was sent to assassinate her?

'No...that's impossible even if she tried...' thought Mel removing any thoughts that Miriel was here for any bad for now.

Miriel walked over to the two and then immediately went straight to the point asking, “I want to learn how to use a weapon” to Park.

Mel smiled wryly hearing this and said, “I believe in most cases you can think of magic as a weapon.”

“That's not what I meant. I need another method in case magic doesn't work” replied Miriel a bit irritated at Mel almost immediately from her comment. However it seems Park was a bit more serious than Mel in this since he immediately named a few suggestions.

“Close, Mid or Long range?” he asked.

Miriel hadn't actually thought about it but then she thought of bows for some reason. An Ice Archer was something that she imagined herself as.

'The pretty Ice Archer...no wait! Why the hell am I having those kinds of delusions?!' Miriel immediately cut back on the thoughts and said firmly, “A Bow would be nice.”

“Long Range eh....good since unless your a quick caster, going close or mid is suicidal” replied Park going back to the barrack to grab the bow and some arrows as well. A minute passed and he returned with a fine looking bow and a stack of arrows to use.

“This bow isn't exactly for beginners but it's requirements are for level 50s. It is a good bow with good aim.”

Miriel happily took the bow as Park directed her to a shooting range which was not exactly in use in the barracks. It was also at this moment that Sain came to the training area as well.

“A bow?” he asked to Miriel seeing as she was about to fire it though she could not hear him.

Miriel used all her strength which was on the low side for her level and fired the arrow straight at the target which was only 20 metres away from her.

“AHHHHHH!!!”

A scream was heard.

“....”

Miriel, Sain, Mel and Park all looked at the direction of the scream and it was a recruit with an arrow in him though thankfully not dead.

“....”

Mel immediately ran over healed the person taking the arrow out of him and returned. Seeing this, Miriel felt a bit pissed off since she knew that she needed to do better and fired a few more times.

“AHHHHHH!!!”

Several more screams were heard unfortunately as the arrows all missed their targets and by some unknown force either from the Gods or the Devil himself, they managed to hit people who were several tens of metres away from the target as Miriel was properly aiming at the targets opposite to her.

“This ability of firing...it's like a miracle happening but still quite horrifying” commented Park on Miriel's firing skills that would be the abilities of a saint to enemies while the power of the devil for allies.

“Sh-shut up!” shouted Miriel firing the bow once again.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush!!

Burst Will is now active

'Wha?' thought Sain seeing this message all of a sudden.

Miriel fired another arrow and Sain's body almost reacted instinctively and dodged to the side as an arrow was about to hit his head and kill him instantly. Sain could feel the cold sweat down his spine as he narrowly escaped death from Miriel nevertheless.

Several more arrows shot and several more screams later, Mel was running around healing people rapidly while Sain using his enhanced senses and Park using his enormous skill dodged them as arrows were flying to them.

If you discover this tale on Amazon, be aware that it has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. Please report it.

“This is ridiculous! We're behind you, why are we dodging for our lives here?!” retorted Park to this impossible situation. Both him and Sain were standing BEHIND Miriel as she was firing. Not to the side but directly behind her which should be the best position to not get shot by a novice archer.

“Miriel Stop! You'll kill me at this rate!” shouted Sain pulling out an arrow that managed to hit him unfortunately.

However Miriel did not listen at all and continued to fire rapidly arrows until she ran out. It took her several tens of minutes but the entire place was filled with arrows. Sain's health was reduced down to 30% and he didn't even have the time to heal himself else a couple more arrows might fly at him.

“Minor Heal...”

Sain started to increase his health up slowly while Miriel looked around confused. Seeing this chance, Park immediately grabbed the bow off her and immediately said, “Never hold a bow ever again” coldly to her.

As a result she pouted and said, “I wasn't that bad.”

'WASN'T THAT BAD?!'

Everyone there even the ones hidden away (Gen and Jenny) retorted in their hearts at the same time.

Miriel managed to somehow hit almost everyone around her several times. You could say that it was an extreme skill with the bow even though she only hit those who were not actually enemies but you could also say that it was a sad skill since it was too dangerous.

“Other than a bow, you can use a sickle and chain as well though it's a mid range weapon” said Park handing over the weapon to Miriel once again. This time, he knew that he was standing out of range of the weapon she was holding as he moved next to Sain who was 10 or so metres away from her.

“Hmm~”

Miriel swung the weight on the other end of the chain in a circle and it immediately broke off firing in Sain and Park's direction immediately.

““SHIT!””

Both of them ducked down to dodge the 'attack'. Immediately after that Park grabbed the sickle and chain and said to Miriel:

“No weapons that can somehow become projectiles for you” said Park regretting even trying to let Miriel test out some weapons now.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Watching all of this, Jenny who managed to sneak her way into the barrack without knowing was grinning at how effect Miriel was.

'To think that she could act so well and could not only distract Park alone but everyone else as well...' she thought praising her apprentice in her heart. Jenny continued to move to an ideal location to use the scroll in her hand against Mel.

She moved from floor to floor and eventually decided on one of the upper floors in the barracks since it would be more well hidden compared to the roof after all.

'Now to just wait for the perfect timing....though Miriel created on before already...but Park took away the bow so that level of distraction is no longer viable for Miriel to create...hmm what to do?'

“What are you doing?”

“Ekk!!!”

Jenny let out a small shriek hearing a voice out of nowhere when she clearly did not want to. She quickly looked over and determined that it was better to 'silence' them rather than take any chances with this since it involved Mel.

“Oh, it's you” said Jenny calming down quickly seeing who it actual was. Next to Jenny was Anna, the petite assassin that followed Eden's orders to the letter.

'Though I have seen her do what Alexandra wanted all the time as well....I wonder what's up with that?' Jenny thought she Anna peered out looking at what Jenny was doing.

“Harming other guild members is forbidden” reminded Anna though a bit too coldly.

“This spell won't harm even a single health point...though not mentally later on...” replied Jenny assuring Anna was wasn't doing anything 'wrong' at all. Anna nodded and then said:

“Gen knows what you are doing.”

“I know.”

After all, she knew that Gen was listening in at times like this just in case.

“Sain over there is working for Gen.”

“I know, that's why I have Miriel on the case as well.”

The two looked down as Miriel was holding a weapon and trying it out. It was a staff and she was trying to spin it around as instructed by Park as a basic defence that a staff user would use.

Bang..

The staff flew away from her and managed to hit Sain who blocked it with his arms. He took a bit of damage from that but thanks to his health being higher than a beginner, this could be considered a minor injury.

“That Miriel...” muttered Jenny praising her acting skills so much now.

“She isn't acting you know.”

“Eh?”

Jenny was a bit shocked on this statement. Unless it was really an act, how does one manage to really screw up that much on these kinds of things? Perhaps it was a good thing that Miriel came to her and was train in the use of magic instead of other weapons.

“She has very bad motor skills, Lyndis is a natural at those things but Miriel is the opposite. They somewhat suit each other” said Anna who was very talkative currently. Anna had watched Lyndis train after all for a while and immediately knew that she had an almost genius level of control over how her body moved.

But it was only on the level of almost genius since she still made mistakes here and there until she corrected them with the help of Ron before.

“That reminds me, why are you still here?” asked Jenny really wanting to know since normally Anna didn't stick to anyone or anything even if it was interesting except for Eden who raised her.

“Helping.”

“Helping?” Why would Jenny need help on this.

“Gen is involved.”

'Of course' Jenny thought. The only times that Anna was like this was when it involved Gen. They had one of the worst relationships she had seen due to the many events that led to Anna hating Gen to the point that she wanted to kill him. If it weren't for Eden saying that Gen was useful for him, he would have died a long time ago no matter his skills.

'Anna is one of the few assassins that can even threaten Eden after all...someone on Gen's level can't even react if she was truly serious.'

Yes, when Anna attacks Gen, she isn't even that serious at all. Her 'mark' would allow her to become extremely frightening indeed even as Jenny thought about it.

'A trained assassin becoming even more frightening as an assassin is something that doesn't normally happen....' thought Jenny thinking of how each of them changed using the 'marks' they had granted by Eden out of Whim.

“Right” said Jenny, “Can you keep tabs on him. Make sure whatever he's trying to do fails and what I do succeeds. I'll need your help later on dealing with him as well.”

“Right.”

The two hiding on the higher floors of the barracks peered down at the training Miriel was getting in order to use a weapon....though she still hasn't been able to use one without causing an accident yet.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

In contrast to Jenny taking the higher grounds in order to make her plans effective, Gen took the opposite route in contrast since it would allow him to react faster than if he did the same. The closer you are to the target, the faster you can react to anything that may happen to them.

'What the hell is that crazy bitch planning up there?' wondered Gen already knowing that Jenny was set somewhere up in the barracks. It was the perfect location to do things with so why would anyone not go there when planning a plan like that?

'The only thing is that I don't know what kind of spell she is planing on using. Against Mel however, there isn't many normal spells that could be used to begin with. I have to be careful not to be caught into it.'

The last thing that Gen wanted was to be dragged into whatever Jenny was planning since she took some of her twisted personality from Eden after all.

“Hey what's going on here?” asked Ron not knowing that Gen and Jenny was watching as he walked up to where Sain, Miriel, Mel and Park were.

Suddenly something came flying at him and he immediately cut it down using his sword in a flash. When he looked, it was a spear that came flying his way.

“How does one managed to throw a spear at me at this direction so accurately?!” shouted Ron knowing that his life was in danger at that moment.

“Not going to say sorry, it was an accident and I couldn't control it” replied Miriel being stubborn.

Park sighed and added, “And you couldn't 'control' all the other weapons that were placed into your hands as well. That's it, no mid or long range weapon for you...ever.”

Park took away the majority of weapons that he had originally planned on letting Miriel test out but he did not expect her to be so bad at using any weapon at will to the point that several people were at risk due to her.

“Then what kind of weapon can I have then? Did you say that close range weapons are no good for me since I need to use quick casting spells?” complained Miriel since they couldn't find a proper weapon for her.

“That's only the case when you actually charge in to attack them directly. For self defence, a close range weapon is recommended though you insist on having a weapon with good range when you don't” explained Park taking out some smaller weapons.

“Daggers for example are a good last measure you can have. Another thing are these” Park took out a small....stick?

“This is a baton which isn't exactly lethod though very useful in knocking people out. Naturally if you hit hard enough at the right places then a person will really die even with this...but as a defence measure, it's quite good.”

The baton itself was only at most 30 cm long and had a hilt to block blades that come sliding down at you as well. Being black, it was easy to hide on your person or at night to use later. However...

“I don't want it! It looks horrible! I don't want to be known as someone who carries a large black stick with me all the time!”

“....”

Ron let out a small laugh hearing those words but Miriel immediately glared at him shutting him up while Park placed the perfectly good baton back with the other weapons.

“What do you think Sain? You think she can ever use any weapon?” Park asked.

Sain who was completely silent until now only watching Miriel while dodging for the life of him could not fund any words to say 'No, she is horrible with weapons that the world is better off without her doing so'.

“Ummm-huh?” just as Sain was trying to make up an answer, something took Miriel's eyes and she immediately went over to grab it.

Coiled up into a circle, if extended straight it would be at least 3 metres in length and looked quite elegant on her hands. What she held was a whip.

“Oh~ This feels nice” said Miriel touching the grip of the whip in her hand. The moment she uncoiled it to use it, everyone immediately backed away a few metres at least to get out of range of the incoming attacks.

Snap~!

The whip strangely hit the location in front of Miriel where she aimed. With this, she smiled and get close enough to the target, around 2 metres away and swung the whip again.

Snap~!

Once again, Miriel was about to hit where she wanted with the whip.

Snap~! Snap~! Snap~!

Three more times she demonstrated her skills with the whip hitting the target three times with three swings that had little time between attacks. With this her smile grew even larger for some reason and she started to rapid fire attacks at the target like she was in a frenzy. After a few minutes of this she stopped and looked at Sain with eyes of lust.

'What is going on....?' thought Sain as Miriel approached him.

Snap~!

Immediately, Sain felt a sharp pain on his knees forcing him on the ground as if he was kneeling in front of Miriel. Sain had no idea on what was happening but a few hits from the invisible whip attacks moved his body for him.

Snap~! Snap~! Snap~! Snap~!Snap~!

Sain's face was now near Miriel's feet. A position that Sain never thought he would be in let alone be forced into.

“Lick it~” ordered Miriel in a seductive voice that was clearly the opposite of her usual attitude.

“....”

Snap~!

“Lick it or else~ Give me some pleasure Sain~ I like that look on you~”

The hit on his back hurt enough that Sain really wanted to lick her feet but pride amongst other things prevented him from doing so.

“....”

As Sain was not compiling on what she wanted him to do, Miriel frown and was about to attack Sain once again but a combination of three people grabbed her immediately and stopped her. These people were of course Park, Mel and Ron who were pretty much the only people who weren't not completely shocked on what happened to Miriel all of a sudden.

“Mel, remove the glove” asked Park.

“Right.”

“I'll make sure she doesn't resist too much” said Ron as well gripping her right arm causing enough paint that numbness came over that part of her body. As Mel removed the glove and Sain got up to see what was happened, all of them were shocked.

The 'Mark of the Fairy' which really only looked like some wings on her hand glowed a bright red like when Sain was in his 'Commander' mode.

“....”

The four...no five of them stared at the mark which eventually after a few seconds of Miriel letting go of the whip by force turned back to normal. Miriel losing most of her strength on her body dropped onto the ground was bright red. The first was how she acted on that state and the other thing was what she did to Sain of all people.

“I..I...I..I” she repeated like a broken record to herself.

For some reason, Sain felt that jokes were needed here since it took Sain out of his depressed state before from what he did to the others in his other state as well.

“Empress. Yes, the way you acted was like a Sadist Empress forcing others to submit to you...to think you had such feelings inside you....” said Sain trying to sound a bit disappointed at Miriel.

“What...?” muttered Miriel not believing that what Sain is doing is in good intention.

“Yes 'Empress'?” asked Sain a bit humoured by her reaction just then.

“Don't call me 'Empress'!!!” shouted Miriel about to burst into tears. The sheer thought of her doing something so shameless was bad enough and now Sain was teasing her like this. There was something she liked to think of how a gentleman should act and one of those rules was to not tease her at times like this.

Miriel swore in her heart that Sain will one day pay for this. But for now...

“I had enough....I'm taking this whip okay...Sain” Miriel grabbed Sain by the collar and dragged him away with her out of this place. She could feel several snickers behind her but restrained herself to not blasting them away as well using magic.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Sain was being dragged away by Miriel.

'This is fine since this was my job to begin with...though I have a feeling that something bad will happen to me later...'

“Miriel what are yo-”

“Shut it!”

Sain could feel the clear killing intent coming out of her. It seems that the choice of teasing her backfired and he had to suffer from it now. He could not believe that this was the same girl that was in that 'Empress' state and then that depressed state and now in her current state which was extremely angry at him in a matter of a single minute.

“....”

As such to not incur more wrath of her, Sain shut his mouth leaving with her though partly due to her forcing him even with her much lower strength stat value...

“Hey Sain!” called Park jogging a bit catch up to him.

'What is it now?'

“That reminds me, you came here to learn something like a spear skill right?”

“Yeah...?” replied Sain as if he was asking a question.

“In that case, I'm more than happy to teach you a simple but effective move that Eden once upon a time used quite a bit” grinned Park.

It was at that moment Miriel pressed that button Jenny gave her.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

At that moment, with Park with Sain and not with Mel with a far enough distance away that he couldn't even help her, Jenny started her plan now.

“Anna now!” she cried causing Anna to leap from the barrack from the sky and to Ron who was the next nearest person to Mel. IN a single motion, Ron was hit several times while he blocked using his sword to defend himself from this sudden attack.

“Anna?!” cried Ron truly surprised.

Mel look at the two in shock, now even more distracted then ever.

'Now!'

It was at that time that Jenny ripped the scroll with the spell in it and aimed at Mel. A beam shot out heading for her with no way for her to even dodge. The timing was that good.

The end of Mel's social life was here.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Gen made his move then and there. Moving at extremely fast speeds that rivalled Anna's own, he too leaped at Ron with malice intent.

'Sorry Ron...this is for the greater good and to stop Jenny...'

Gen grabbed Ron who was still defending himself from Anna who was also shocked in Gen acting at this exact moment as well and threw him into the beam that Jenny fired at Mel. Ron being the trained person naturally flipped his body in mid air rebalancing himself and happened to land right in front of Mel facing her.

“What the-”

(Sound of Beam hitting Ron)

“Ahhhh!” Ron let out a short beam as it stripped him of everything that he had on his body though not destroyed, only relocated to where the caster in this case, Jenny was.

“....”

(Sound of utter silence)

Mel just had to look down to see 'that'. Her face paled and so did Ron's since he knew what was going to happen next. As such he accepted such a fate at this moment.

“KYYYYYYYYA NOOOOOOOO!!!”

SLAP!!!

Ron was immediately slapped and sent flying to the direction where Sain, Miriel and Park were. The only fortunate thing right now was that both Sain and Park were further ahead then Miriel which would lead to another result.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

“Don't turn away! Don't look!” shouted Sain immediately though extremely disgusted right now on how Ron looked and much to how much he wanted to vomit, he couldn't let Miriel experience that since she was a young girl.

“What ju-”

“I said don't look!”

Sain immediately grabbed Miriel's face and held it so that it only looked at him. Miriel as a result blushed completely red not knowing besides Sain was being very aggressive towards her.

“Wh-what are you doing?” asked Miriel who was now becoming more and more confused as seconds passed by.

“Only look at me” replied Sain as he stared back at her at close range. In any other case, Sain would never do this but for the sake of not destroying the 'purity' of Miriel right now, it had to be done in Sain's mind.

Through much struggle on his part, he managed to escape with Miriel from the scene of carnage as Park ran back with the words, “I'll teach you that skill later!”

That day, as 'punishment' Sain was forced to stay with Miriel looking around the city in something that he knew as a 'Date'. Naturally through some unknown means, Miriel had some spare gold to spend which was on clothes to wear on the game and other things that Sain was forced to carry for the rest of the day.

It was only later they found out the quests that they were on failed at the same time...due to 'certain' circumstances involving who they managed to piss off.

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Back at the barracks, completely naked since he was forcefully stripped of his armour and sword, Ron got up laughing. While he was laughing, his eyes were dead cold and literally froze everyone in place, even Mel who slapped him.

“Who was it?” asked Ron in anger.

“Jenny fired the beam and Gen threw you. I was only told to distract you. Jenny is up there in the barracks, second to top floor, 12th window from the right” replied Anna immediately.

“Anna you traitor!” shouted Jenny from the near top of the barracks. Only then that she realised that it was a bad mistake to reveal her location to Ron in his state. Due to everything being stripped off him including the glove that held back his power; the 'Mark of the Hydra', a snake figure with 8 heads appeared on his right hand glowing a bright golden colour.

“Hydra Mode!” chanted Ron as if he was using a spell.

At that moment, his body completely changed to one of the elements. Due to his rage, only the power of fire and lightning appeared turning him into a hybrid fire-lightning high ranking spirit as his body blurred with flames.

“Disappear!!!!”

Several hundred shots of fire and lightning appeared from Ron's body aimed at those two.

“Wait wait wait, at this rate, I'm really going to die!!!” complained Gen who was running away from Ron. Soon enough Ron caught up and nearly burnt him to cinders. Next Ron moved at extremely high speeds to cut off Jenny who was also running away from her.

“Ron...it wasn't my fault that Gen threw you into the strip beam....at least it wasn't a lethod spell that I would use instead....right?”

“Punishment time” replied Ron like the terminator.

“AHHHHHHHHHH!!!” Jenny was also put near death as well.

Just as the others were feeling that things would now end, Ron appeared in front of Mel. She took a few steps back since he was a swordsman and she was a magic user and the element they were using; Ron with Fire outmatched Mel's Nature in comparability.

“Ron.....?” asked Mel afraid of the goofing off Ron who turned into a scaring machine that would precisely finish orders with no emotions.

“All parties involved will be punished” said Ron plainly.

“Then what about Anna? If it weren't for her then Gen wouldn't be able to throw you into that beam....” plead Mel with her eyes more than her words.

“She gave me information on one of the parties involved. Contributions then and before allowed her to escape from punishment” Ron replied in the same tone as well.

“AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!”

Park sighed seeing what just happened. The barracks was...half destroyed. The training area in which they were also standing on was almost completely destroyed and a large number of people was injured just then.

“What am I going to report....?” wondered Park. It would take a lot of word to undo what happened here even if Eden helped. So many noble families will start to complain at once which will increase the stress on Eden which will consequently increase the workload of himself and the others...

Even though he had nothing to do with this even to the end...

[p=center]xXx[/p]

Meanwhile....

“Zzz....zzz.....zzz....”

Eden was sleeping due to no one disturbing him now.

“No....don't.....”

Some vague words slipped out of his mouth due to him having some nightmares of the past.

“Alexandra....don't....I'm not a hugging pillow.”

And sometimes these vague words form sentences as well.

Author's Notes:

- Word Count: 8500~

- As I was planning this, I feared that there was too much to write on and this would extend over 2 chapters. I was wrong...just barely made it this far without stretching it too far.

- It's funny how planned out chapters are so much more easier to right and are of a higher quality compared to the random writing spree ones.
