A couple of hours passed since the group and the other two babysitting them went out of the barrier of light that Alexandra made and went with a rush to the Demon King Castle.
Normally this kind of trip would take weeks or months to get through due to the high swarm of Demons in the way. However due to Alexandra and the Knight's efforts, it was like there weren't any Demons attacking them and slowing the group down at all. However this cause a large pile of corpses to pile up behind them as they ran.
Due to the group not being in a party with Alexandra, they got none of the experience from her kills. However the group did not stand by when there were enemies and possible experience to get. Because of this, they attacked mostly from range when they could and gained at most some small percentage of experience; not enough to level up but enough to say that it was a waste by running by not attacking anything.
Right now the eight of them were in front of the gates of a pure white castle.
“Th-this is a Demon King Castle?” asked Serena confused since it looked the exact opposite.
The Knight confirmed it, “Yes, this is the recorded location. Don't be fooled, the appearance is just a disguise to let your guard down.”
“Strange how this looks like it came from a fairy tale...” muttered Miriel looking at the pure white castle closely.
“Complete opposite from behind us” said Lyndis as well.
“Hahaha” Alexandra let out a hearty laugh and then said, “Soon enough this place would be dyed in red though.”
“....”
Although blunt in her statement, one could not simply be shocked at her words no matter how strong she was. There was a limit to strength and it was likely that she would be brought down with force at this rate. The only problem was when that would happen.
“You DARE attack us?!” screamed a creature in a high pitch voice.
That creature flew out and floated in the air with it's large wings that were pure white. One description would be that they were angels...even though they had a bird face.
Alexandra looked pleasantly surprised and blurted out, “Ah! A bird-freak!”
Hearing this the bird creature in anger shot out a beam of light at Alexandra shouting, “Die! Lowly insect!”
The beam of light was easily deflected away from Alexandra without her even doing anything.
“This may actually be easier than that horde of demons...” commented Alexandra seeing the level of attack.
Seeing that it's beam of light attack which it pride itself with did not work at all on Alexandra, it simply chose to go in close range to rip her apart. It was a powerful creature so why would it be scared of humans of all things.
Bang!
Alexandra shot up in the air by jumping in front of the bird creature and grabbed it's neck and slammed it to the ground in one go. With a evil smile on her face, Alexandra asked, “Now where is that Demon King we need to kill?”
“A villain....” muttered Serena.
“Yep, can only see a villain there” said Shadow as well.
Sain looked confused and asked, “What are you talking about? She's getting information off that creature. Plus it was self defence after it attacked her.” Sain unexpectedly look Alexandra's side for this case.
Miriel was about to try to lecture Sain on what could be done and what could not be but then several more white winged creatures appeared around the castle. All of them seemed angry as well.
“Enemies” commented Raven lifting his shield and spear at them prepared to fight.
Alexandra and the Knight looked at them identifying them as enemies as well.
“Ho~ How many more of you are there?” asked Alexandra to the one that she pinned down.
“Damn Insect! Disappear!” the pinned down bird creature shouted letting out a beam of light from it's mouth at close range at Alexandra.
BOOM!
However it did not have the change to even attack as Alexandra slammed her other hand down on it's face killing it in a single hit. Alexandra sighed seeing that her informative was now dead so soon but there were others that she could use around her.
“Miss Alexandra” said the Knight readying it's swords, “I suggest we take care of them now so they won't interfere with the slaying of the Demon King.”
Two mechanical swords appeared in the Knight's hands and several more around the Knight.
“I have to ask but are those swords stored in a sub-dimension based around you?” asked Alexandra a bit curious since she knows two people who can create weapons at mass but never one that uses pre created weapons from another dimension.
“Yes this technique is used by master swordsmen in my order” replied the Knight letting out a sharp grey and red aura around his body.
“I see...I might take a liking to it and copy it” said Alexandra.
“Eh?” the knight was confused by her words but then for some reason, in Alexandra's hand was a mechanical sword exactly like the Knight as well.
“Meh, sword quality is on so-so” Alexandra threw away the sword without a hassle seeing that it wasn't up to her expectations.
“Miss Alexandra....did you just....”
“Oh such a technique like using different dimensions is something quite simple when you think about it. The only problem is that you don't really have the time to learn how to create personal ones so everyone more or less takes a big space and some old ones some people made a long time ago though they are sectioned off” Alexandra explained taking out a sword from her inventory.
It was sky blue, a great-sword that was curved at the end. It was as long as Alexandra's body in terms of height and it let out a frightening feeling from the blade.
“Anyway, I rather use this kind of sword compared to the weaker swords with no life in them” said Alexandra gathering aura in the sword which shone bright as if it was responding to Alexandra.
“Do you think mere insects can do anything?!” shouted one of the bird creatures in the air. There were now perhaps 30 of them over the castle now.
Alexandra smirked and used her most prized skill since early one.
“SWORD WAVE!”
The blue sword exploded in aura and let out a scream of power into the air in a single swing my Alexandra.
Bang!
It was as if the sky and heaven itself was split into two from the slash. That was how powerful this skill Alexandra used was. Plus a fair chunk of the top of the castle was taken out as well and simply looked like it disappeared along with the bird creatures.
“Ah, used too much power again” said Alexandra realising her mistake, “Damn almost killed the final boss in this trip accidentally.”
“....”
'Too much power? Also wouldn't it be very fine if you killed the final boss?' thought someone in the group.
“Well that takes care of that lot...” just as Alexandra said that, another group of 30 bird creatures appeared quite furriest at Alexandra.
“You DARE attack us insect?!” one of them shouted.
“More of them?” sighed Alexandra. She really didn't feel like taking down all of them over and over again but since they would probably harm the others...
“Knight-san~” Alexandra said with a smile, “Please take the new recruits inside the castle to face the Demon King.”
“Eh?”
The group and the Knight blurted out at once. What was this woman saying. There was also a strange light in her eyes that looked at everything was troublesome and minor.
“I understand” said Lyndis who was the first to more or less realise that Alexandra wanted to fight along not protecting anything right now.
Raven was the next to realise Alexandra's intention and nodded to Lyndis' words. The Knight scratched his helmet and said, “I understand Miss Alexandra, please come after us as soon as possible.”
The Knight then sliced down the entrance to the castle and then lead the group of six in with him.
“Wait!” shouted one of the bird creatures as he flew down to attack them.
Bang!
Alexandra blocked the creature and kicked it back.
“How many are there now? A hundred, two hundred? Perhaps you can relieve my boredom a bit....?” The aura around Alexandra sharpened by several times as she went to serious mode.
“Divine Beast...ah I forgot I changed it.....right....forgot what I just said, need to redo that scene now!”
Alexandra took a breather.
“Sun Beast Mode!”
Alexandra's hair turned to a black colour along with the markings that appeared all over her body. The marks on her hands, were pure black as well and were symbols of the sun. This was a change that happened with Alexandra when she gave up her Divinity for the power of Sun Authorities.
Alexandra looked at her body with interest saying, “Hmm...so I can use this mode with 3 Sun Authorities. Still far cry from my former strength but for mere birds....”
Light gathered in her sword as she swung it once at the swarm of enemies around her.
“Light of Judgement!”
Despite being creatures of the light affinity, Alexandra's affinity to light was so much higher than theirs that it dealt a massive amount of damage to them all. However some of them were stronger than the rest and survived with little damage.
Seeing this, Alexandra changed tactics to simply use her sword skills to take them all down since her light and holy skills weren't as effective.
“Sun Aura!”
A pure white aura that resembled flames appeared around Alexandra. This was one of the skill that were changed when we switched her Divinity to Sun Authorities. There were several other skills changed but still, Alexandra could still use Holy Spells though they weren't as effective as before due to Divinity literally increasing the power of Holy Spells by several times.
Bang Bang Bang!
Alexandra fought alone from the ground against flying creatures that made her have a severe disadvantage. Usually it was Eden's job to deal with these kinds of things. But she still had some anti-air skills that she could use.
“Holy Cage!”
Light was shot out of Alexandra's hands and bend around several of the bird creatures at once that were firing light beams back at Alexandra. Her Light beams however were much stronger than theirs and formed a cage around them preventing them from moving before...
“Sword Wave!”
Bang!
Alexandra killed most of the bird creatures that continued to come out from somewhere like this. Tens of minutes passed and the number of enemies still did not change.
Then....
“Die!”
From directly above her, a beam of intense light that was abnormal in power shout down from the Heavens.
BOOOOM!
Alexandra using her foot skills quickly dodged it in time and only took some of the shockwave damage from whatever just landed. She was completely focused now on this creature since she felt a very familiar feeling from it.
Yes...it was the power of Divinity coming out of it. It was a Divine Beast.
The light disappeared around it to reveal it's body. It was a very large hybrid of a griffon and several other creatures that Alexandra could not describe.
“Honestly...I would think you would look better with all that power” commented Alexandra on it's looks immediately.
“A mere mortal challenge me?! Such an insult disappear!” the creature shouted. It was 15 metres tall and was a multicoloured creature with wings that looked like something you could make with play do.
Alexandra tightened her grip on her sword as she prepared to take this creature down. It's power was at least level 800 or even more so she couldn't hold back on it like the other bird creatures around her.
“Get out of the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!”
“Eh?”
Alexandra surprised dodged whatever came like a beam of light at them leaving the giant creature that she was able to face get hit.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
“....”
Alexandra was quite shocked that this Divine Beast just died like that.
From the wreckage came a person she recognised immediately. It was a beauty despite being a guy with long black hair and a slim body. He looked at Alexandra clumsily with a slight apologetic smile.
This person was Eden.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
A while back....a few minutes back in fact.
[This and that do not matter right now, disappear and die!]
“Honesty....the angry ones are always to worst to logic!” Eden immediately started to run away from White since he would really rather not clash with a Dragon King foe right now.
[Don't you dare run away!]
White covered his body in the pure white aura and charged straight at Eden who had his back to White right now. I very bad idea.
Bang!
“Ow!”
Eden took major damage with that hit and slammed to the mountain side. He groaned in pain as he turned back to White in annoyance. At that moment, he decided that he would kick his ass no matter what now. Everything else was secondary.
“Hey....remember what we got from that Dragon King Festival? You never actually saw my prize for becoming a Dragon King back then right?”
Eden had a smile on his face but for some reason all the other Dragons other than White had a very bad feeling about this. Some of them were in that very Dragon Festival while most did not know what Eden was capable of. Still, they had a feeling that it was best to run away now.
“Dragon King Transformation!”
Eden's body was consumed by Dragon scales. His body transformed naturally with scales appearing on his body but then another layer, a much more powerful layer of scales appeared and wrapped around his body tightly like it was body armour. If Dragon Transformation made Eden seem bulky in size then Dragon King Transformation would be the exact opposite though much more powerful.
Eden's face was then covered by a mask of pure black and there were no wings or a tail on Eden at all. Those features would only slow him down in this state so they weren't included at all in the transformation. With his six golden wings of light behind him, he looked like a hidden boss character right now. Yes, this was Eden's new 'battle mode' that condensed all of his power into this form.
But he didn't stop there at all.
“Dragonic Release!”
Eden immediately then activated the skill that powered him with the power of a dragon. The marking appeared even on his armoured state and covered his body as well more apparent than before. The glowing marks covered the mark as well forming a general image of a Dragon's face on the mask.
Bang Bang Bang!
Three hits were heard and White was slammed into the opposite mountain without him nor anyone else noticing. Eden in this state was too fast....and too strong. He was on a totally different level of strength from what White and some of the other Dragons remembered.
However White also had a trump card from the Dragon King Festival as well from being crowned a Dragon King.
[Deadlock of Purity!]
White used his aura and condensed it down like what Eden did with his Dragon King Transformation. However unlike Eden's one, it was pure white and simply added an extra layer of scales onto White's body...in fact it was very similar to Eden's.
“Golden Bow!” said Eden taking up a bow that the other dragons haven't seen at all. Why would they when Eden hid a number of skills he had from them. You don't always use all the cards you have in every battle.
Eden drew the bow and fired it using mana quickly.
The single mana arrow multiplied in a frightening rate and soon numbered several hundreds before 20 metres. And all of them went to White as if those arrows were lured to him. With his speed, White could probably dodge them all since in his state, Eden was even faster than these arrows. But he didn't and took all of the arrows at once.
[Hmp!]
The arrows were immediately deflected off him like they didn't affect him at all. As a comparison, Eden's arrow each had 3 or 4 times more power than a normal arrow attack from an ranger who has the higher pure arrow damage and multiple it hundreds of times. And none of them even damaged White at all.
“....”
Seeing this, Eden immediately made the bow in his hands disappear and replaced it with a spear.
“Extend.”
Using the special property of the spear, Eden shot the end at White in which White refused to dodge once again completely blocking the attack. A bit of the spear however broke compared to the density and defence of White's scales.
“So while my one increases attack and speed to the extremes your one increases defence and endurance to the extremes instead” commented Eden.
[So you know that victory is impossible right? Hurry up and submit so I can kill you]
Eden hearing this let out a laugh.
“What? Don't you remember what my speciality was? It was not simply pure power or magic. It was utter destruction in all ways that made even broke through the ultimate defence of Gods! Do you think mere Dragon Scales can stop me?! Dragonic Overload!”
Eden unleashed his power even more with his long hair turning silver-white in colour. The oppressive feeling that he let out of also increased because of this.
“Ice Spear!”
Eden quickly created a giant ice spear that was shot out at White at extremely high speeds as he kicked off the mountain to attack as well. Being the speed type originally, White easily dodged the ice spear coming at him and only focused on Eden.
Bang Bang Bang!
The two collided and hit each other several times.
[Ahhh!]
White went back in pain as part of his scales were pierced through while Eden's hand was bloodied with his own blood since he broke trying to pierce through White's scales.
“Tch.”
Eden immediately recovered his hand that was broken just then but White had no such ability. If the fight goes on, Eden would win in the end. Therefore he had to use that all or nothing move right now while he had the strength.
[Burst Stream!]
White picked up speed that gradually got faster and faster while fighting in mid air with Eden and eventually surpassed Eden in speed as well. Eden noticed this and went his way to increase the power and speed of his attacks as well since he had a naturally...no abnormally and disgustingly high regeneration and defence.
After a whole minute of these exchange in attacks that eventually became just blurs to the eyes of the other Dragons; both side went for one final attack.
“Burst Strike!”
Eden used his arm as a weapon and went forward as fast as White at him. White did the same while using his head as the weapon instead since his claws were too short for such a frontal attack. But at the end just before the clash, White used a certain technique.
[Limit Break!]
White's power and speed increased several times taking Eden in surprise all of a sudden.
Bang!
The two flew in a single direction stuck to each other since White used his full speed plus this move that increased power and speed to the extremes of the extremes causing damage to the body in the process and could not even stop.
Eventually after around 5 seconds they were headed to a white castle in the distance just as some creature descended from the skies. Eden then noticed Alexandra was there as well.
“Get out of the Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!!”
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!
The two slammed into the strange creature that Eden barely got a look at and killed it in one shot unintentionally.
“....”
Due to the impact, Eden's transformation was cancelled and broke into pieces. The same was with White as well though Eden somehow managed to cushion on White by turning them around at the last second.
“Ow ow ow, damn that hurt like hell. You okay White? You better not die from just that” said Eden ignoring what was happening around him right now. Checking on White, he was alive and Eden let out a sigh of relief due to this.
He then looked around and found Alexandra alone with these strange bird creatures.
“....What happened?” asked Eden.
Alexandra really did not want to answer since Eden seemed to be oddly excited for a battle right now which was kinda rare for him and his hermit lifestyle.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
After some slight explaining from Alexandra of what happened and how she was just about to get serious...
“By the way, why did you literally shoot out from the sky? Is this a new trend I'm not aware of?” asked Alexandra remembering the scream and luck in which he dodged getting exploded into pieces from that.
“Ah, White here used something called 'Limit Break' and really went around 5 times faster and stronger all of a sudden with his full speed. It's should be something similar to your 'Blood Destruction' in nature though...it seems that it deals more damage to the person when they use it” said Eden.
“White? Oh that Dragon that wanted to marry you!” said Alexandra excitingly.
“Yes....that one” Eden had a bad feeling from the how light hearted her words were.
“So this was the boyfriend you were hiding from me.”
“Eh...what?”
“To think you would cheat on me like this sob sob” Alexandra to Eden was definitely faking crying but still it was a shock to Eden. Plus there wasn't any tears at all....actually scratch that, Alexandra was now fake tearing.
“Damnit! Stop trying to guilt trap me! I know what your trying to do here!” shouted Eden in rage.
“Tch.”
Alexandra looked disappointed at Eden seeing that he didn't play it out. Eden sighed and looked at the sky where there where the bird creatures were still flying around for some reason.
“By the way, what are those?” asked Eden pointing at the bird creatures.
“Oh just some enemies” replied Alexandra not concern of them at all.
“In that case....”
Eden raised his hand and said, “Lightning Shower”, dropping down countless bolts of lightning from the sky onto the bird creatures killing them all in now time.
“Sometimes I forget however ridiculously powerful you are in causing genocide.”
“Well I AM a mage of the highest level” replied Eden.
[What...]
The two turned to look at the White Dragon that just regain consciousness.
“White turn to human form” ordered Eden.
Hearing his voice, White suddenly snapped out of his confusion from the blow he took.
[What?! You dare...!]
Eden and Alexandra both pointed their swords at White at this. They would not let something was powerful as White wondering about when they had a job to do.
[….Fine...]
Though very redundant in turning into a humanoid form due to his pride as a Dragon which continued to increase ever since he became a Dragon King, White turned back to the form that Eden remembered.
It was the form of a small boy in white clothes.
“CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!”
Alexandra immediately started rubbing her cheek on White as he struggled to escape from her.
While Eden sighed at this, Alexandra's eyes shone with a weird light. Yes, Alexandra liked to hug small cute creatures as if it was a programmed response for girls.
[Eden...help!]
White cried for help reached Eden's mind.
“Didn't you try to kill me a few minutes ago?” asked Eden in a cynical voice.
[This and that are different! I feel like my bones and organs are being crushed! What is this ridiculous strength?!]
“Yeah....that happens sometimes with her strength...in the pure strength stat, she is actually ranked 1 in the continent so there's literally no escape” replied Eden giving up on White, “Anyway we better go in to catch up with the others.”
Thus the three, two of which are actually Dragon Kings went into the white Demon King Castle.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
Inside the Demon King Castle...
“There's nothing in here at all....” muttered Sain, “No enemies at all...is there something wrong with this place? I thought a Demon King Castle would at least have....”
“Monsters of every kind guarding this place right?” added Miriel on the same line of thought.
The atmosphere of the group was very bad right now since this castle was unexpectedly too peaceful, even more so compared to the outside world where they had to pass through demons and then bird creatures of light. What was even more disturbing was that actual design of the castle.
There was no corpses and other disgusting things in a dark light you would expect. In fact it was the polar opposite with the place being brightly lit and the place being mainly white in colour. In fact it was easier to try to find any other colour besides white in this castle.
“Why does this place....” muttered Lyndis.
“Feel very disgusting?” added Shadow understanding Lyndis in how she felt. In fact the entire group had this kind of feeling eve Serena whom initially thought this place was similar to a fairy tale castle that young girls would like. The lack of...many things made this castle feel really off.
“Please pay attention, there may be traps” reminded the Knight. It was quite a hassle to take care of the young ones from the guild that he requested to help in this quest.
The group nodded once again but could not help but to be wary in another way. This place was too perfect. It was like an illusion of some sort that would vanish to relieve the hell that they were truly in at any moment.
Yes, it was like a person cast a spell on them all to see this.
“We should move forward...there may be traps but I don't think any of them even exist in this place. It would be too obvious or too hidden if there are traps either way” said Sain on his opinion on this place.
The Knight took his words into account. It is not wise to just have on perspective a subject.
The previous Demon King Castles had traps of all kinds in their castle but this one didn't. Another thing to consider was that the previous Demon King Castles were the typical type and this one was a first.
Yes, the Order of Knights have fought against Demon Kings for a long time now and have raided countless castles that popped up all over the continent for the sake of peace. Peace that they brought without any words or graduate for a true knight would not boost of his achievements or actions for all to see. A Knight must remain in the shadows to protect and serve of his lord. The Knight must only be seen as a weapon or shield of the lord and nothing more.
Stolen novel; please report.
Those were the teachings of the Order of Knights.
While they were few, they were all powerful knights of all kinds. This was the main and only reason that others dare not fight them at all along side that Demon Kings often were enemies of Kingdoms.
In the past, the Knights of the order would always fight against Demon Kings. Often alone, there were times where others may come with the knights to fight the Demon Kings. Heroes, Merchants and even civilians that were wronged by the Demon Kings in the past came along. However all of them were powerful to a certain extent.
Never once did the Order of Knights faced such a Demon King like now now did it have requested for help. It could be said that never did the Order of Knights allied itself with such powerful allies as well and such weak allies as well. This was a first to the order and the actions in the future would depend on this...that is if the Demon King would escape once again.
But the Knight did not worry about the six weak ones that it had to protect. After all, all Demon Kings had a certain special characteristic that made it very powerful and very weak at the same time.
“We're here” said the knight in front of a pure white giant door that was easily 10 metres tall and 6 metres wide. You would see this kind of door in castles of powerful cities but the group never saw something like this before.
“How much money did his castle take to make this?” wondered Shadow.
The group nor the knight did not know. However the Knight thought that the servants probably constructed this castle with their own resources so the cost would be near zero.
Before they entered and faced the Demon King however, the Knight needed to explain some things first.
“The Demon King has a certain power that will ultimately scale in the enemies that it face in certain ways” explained the Knight.
“So...we could face it as well?” asked Lyndis.
“Yes, however this depends on what level the Demon King is in rank. There are 10 ranks a Demon King can have. Anything from rank 5 and below will allow you to face it fine as it's power will dramatically drop when you face it. However if it is rank 6 or up then do not face it since it will be much more powerful than you.”
Sain thought about it and then said, “So facing a Demon King does not depend on level or stats but rather experience and battle ability in the end right?”
“Correct, this power allows the Demon King with extremely high experience and battle ability to easily slay those fools with only stats and levels to make you stronger rather than their own pure ability” replied the Knight.
“How much stronger would the Demon King be with the ranks?” asked Sain once again.
“A Rank 1 is a standard type that can easily be defeated as long as you are good enough. With each rank to 5, the Demon Lord will get a bit stronger than you each time. After Rank 6 however, this increases dramatically to the point at Rank 10 where the Demon King may be twice as strong as you or the entire group combined.”
“....”
Somehow the group found that a Demon King was a very unreasonable creature to the point of cheating.
“However the power of the 'Knight' is to negate the power of the Demon King so it's actually a lot easier as long as a 'Knight' like me is with you. I am a Rank 8 Knight which can turn a Rank 8 Demon King into a Rank 5 Demon King in terms of power. With this power I can only turn a Rank 9 Demon King to a Rank 7 and a Rank 10 to a Rank 9 one.”
To sum things up, the power of a 'Knight' can negate power of the 'Demon King' by directly reducing the power of one. Each side has it's own rank from 1 to 10 with each side increasing in power. For a Knight to negate the power of a Demon King, of equal rank, the Demon King's power will be directly reduced by 3 ranks. If the rank of the Knight is lower than the Demon King, then the negation rank is decreased by 1 until it doesn't affect it at all. If the rank of the Knight is higher than the Demon King, then the negation rank is increased by 1 until if forces the Demon King to go down to rank 1.
“Get your weapons out and prepare...on the other side is something unknown after all” said the Knight drawing a mechanical sword out as well.
It was at that moment that the fight against the Demon King started.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
The doors opened and revealed what was on the other side.
You have entered the Demon King Cambers
Curse of the Demon King has activated
- Level and stats will be adjusted to give the Demon King an advantage over you
- The Level and strength of the Demon King and all other entities in this room will scale to the average level of it's enemies
Protection of the Knight has activated
- Part of the Curse of the Demon King will be negated
The place was also pure white as well, even the paintings and furnitures in the room like the rest of the castle. However there was a 'black stain' standing right in the centre of the room sitting on a throne. It was the Demon King.
Behind him was a beautiful person dressed in white trapped in a crystal bound to the wall that looked like it was partly made of crystal. It by any stretch of the means, that person should be the princess that was kidnapped by the Demon King which led to the group heading here.
The Demon King was dressed in a ragged black with a skull mask on his head with horns at the end. His armour was greyish in colour and was quite thick though it also gives the impression that the Demon King was quite thin like the knight. The princess on the other hand was the polar opposite with even her hair being pure white as well with her thin body and a pure white one piece dress that looked like snow flakes, many males would immediately fall for her.
This was partly the case for Sain, Raven and Shadow and even the girls to a certain extent. But this effect from the princess was completely negated by the presence of the Demon King in front of them staring at them...no the Knight.
“So you come to take my life” said the Demon King in a solemn voice.
The Knight pointed his sword at the Demon King saying, “It is the duty of the Knight to kill the Demon King that threaten these lands.”
Bang Bang
Two heavy footsteps were heard. To the left and right of the room came in two very large and disgusting looking creatures that were each 3 metres tall. They looked like ogres in appearance with little armour, bald head and generally like a Orc but bigger and dumber. Each of them held a giant spiked club in their hands.
“Tch.” The Knight looked at both these ogres and them looked at the group.
Sain then spoke up for the group to the knight, “Don't worry about us, we can just run around to survive while distracting one of them for a while.”
The Knight nodded and ran at one of the ogres and slashed it's legs through and then stabbed it's head killing it. He then moved quickly flying in the air to the other one striking and killing the other one as well in one shot.
“....”
Sain was quite surprised since the Knight was that strong. But more surprised since the Knight considered their well being as well.
“Die Demon King!” shouted the Knight summoning a mechanical dagger and throwing it at the Demon King who was sitting down.
Clang!
The Demon King deflected the attack with a mechanical sword as well which looked similar to the Knight's one except there was a twin snake wrapped around the handle.
“You oppose me...so be it” the Demon King started to say, “Disappear from my sight! Demon Rule!”
A black aura surrounded the Demon King similar to the 'Death Aura' that a lich may have. The Demon King got up and swung his sword at the Knight who did the same.
Clang!
The Knight was instantly knocked back with pure force to the group whom while battle ready wasn't fighting at all since the Demon King did not recognise them to be there since they were too weak.
The Knight slid on the ground using his sword to stop.
“This one...his a rank 10 Demon King! Run away now!” shouted the Knight now knowing the strength of the Demon King in person from that one hit.
“Hahahaha, don't think you all will escape from me!” the Demon King shouted mad.
BANG!
The doors behind them shut tight with no sign of opening. The group looked shocked at this sudden event while the Knight was still calm. It looks like something like this happened often with Demon Kings.
“Damn....spread out and don't take any hits!” shouted the Knight taking out another mechanical sword from his dimension storage skill.
Clang Clang Clang
The Knight and Demon Kind started to fight each other once again. After a few seconds, the Knight was wounded in multiple places while the Demon King still remained unharmed.
“Weak! Too Weak!” shouted the Demon King in madness.
It was at this moment that the group decided to fight. At this rate all of them were going to die and as a result, fail the quest. They have heard from Eden what happened when you failed such a quest and it was very damaging to the point that the six of them would not recover from it for a long time. They trusted too much in the fact that Eden and Alexandra would more or less complete the quest.
“We're going to help finish this quest” said Sain determined no matter what, “Please follow my instructions carefully to help the Knight.”
They while much weaker than the Knight normally could actually fight in this place. Due to the power of this room, the level of the Knight and Demon King scaled down by a few hundred levels while the six of them scaled up by that amount at the same time. It could be said that they were now at the strength of a level 200 while the Knight and Demon King were around that level as well though a bit higher due to their natures.
“Serena, Miriel; please focus on protecting us from attacks. Raven and Shadow will try to distract the Demon King while trying not to get into the fight too much. Lyndis, you and I will attack from long range when we can and support Raven and Shadow” said Sain quickly.
The group moved in while the Knight and Demon King continued to clash. Shadow naturally was the quickest to move in.
“Burst Speed! Backstab!”
Shadow instantly moved behind the Demon King about to hit.
Clang!
The Demon King twisted around quickly and blocked the attack.
“Magic Arrows!” “Ice Bolt!”
Both Sain and Miriel fired magic attacks at the Demon King at the same time to prevent Shadow was being counter-attacked like that. The Demon King dodged it swiftly moving back away from the group and the Knight.
“So you oppose me as well....DIE!”
The black aura around the Demon King increased and thickened greatly. Now more focused on ever, the Knight did not even comment on the group helping him and just accepted it since these things usually happen.
“Heartbeat Healing!” chanted Serena finished casting the spell.
Health will regenerate for 6 points every second for 10 minutes
“Ram!” said Raven as he charged in ignoring the fact that the Demon King was powered up.
“Cracked Barrier!” chanted Miriel casting it on Raven just in time.
Bang!
Luckily Raven guarded with his shield in time but the hit from the Demon King was frighteningly so high that Raven was sent flying a bit in the air before landing on his feet.
“Attack and speed are up!” shouted Raven feeling it in his bones that the Demon King really got stronger.
The most disturbing fact about the Demon King power up was that the twin snake on the hilt seemed alive...yes as if it was alive. And their fear of this was confirmed.
“Awaken and consume! Serpent of Lost Paradise!”
The snakes eyes glowed red as they slid off the hilt of the sword and grew in great size to be a creature that was twice the size of a person.
“Serena, Miriel attack!” ordered Sain snapping out of the shock from seeing the two snakes about to attack.
“Strike that is faster than sound!”
Bang!
Both Snakes went to attack Raven who was the closest to them. However the Knight quickly moved in to protect him using his two swords that were both glowing in power to block both of the attacks.
Sain analysed the general feel that the snakes gave off and it was most likely that they couldn't see well like real snakes.
“In that case....Miriel, focus on using Ice Bolt at the head area! Serena, please start using your healing spells already....Serena?” Sain looked back and saw that both Miriel and Serena were frozen....no they were petrified to stone.
Party Member: Miriel has been Petrified, unable to fight until effects are healed
Party Member: Serena has been Petrified, unable to fight until effects are healed
“What?!”
It was only then that Sain realised that the snakes were no common ones but in fact....basilisks. Creatures that could turn other creatures into stone with a look with their eyes. The two must have looked directly into the basilisks eyes when they appeared.
“Don't look at the eyes!” shouted Sain while firing 'Mana Bolts' at the eye area of the basilisks to prevent it from using it's ability to petrify anymore.
“Right! Burning Touch!” called Lyndis as she moved to the middle of the body of one of the basilisks and tried to burn it.
Booooom!
The area which she used the skill on burst into flames and melted off part of the scales that protected it's body. In terms of scale density, snakes were rank number 2 after dragons naturally.
“KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKya!”
The Basilisk that was hit with the skill screamed pain and wildly moved it's body around the room hitting Lyndis and Raven several times in the process. Sain saw their health decrease quite a bit due to this and Serena was out for healing now.
“No choice...Minor Healing!” Sain started to heal the two even though the amount he could heal at a time was a lot less than Serena's own spells. The amount was a mere 110 health each time after all.
Stab!
“KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKya!”
On the other basilisk that Shadow and Raven were taking on at the same time; Shadow managed to stab one of the eyes the creature had causing it to scream in extreme pain as well. It was a double critical and fatal hit at the same time dealing 4 times more damage than normal.
“Magic Arrows!”
Sain shot some magic attacks at the head area as well just for good measures. Lyndis and Raven were both tanking the basilisks while Shadow and Sain were supporting them. It was going good so far.
Sain then look a peak at the battle between the Demon King and the Knight in which both sides were injured but the Knight was taking a worse beating for sure. Parts of the armour the Knight wore was cracked at places and he was replaced swords more often than the Demon King.
As much as he wanted to help the Knight, the two basilisks were already taken both of Sain and the others' hands to deal with. Plus they were dangerous enough with the fact that they could petrify people on sight as well which was quite nasty with both support members of the group taken out like that. There was no more manpower left to help the Knight individually.
Several minutes passed by with a high speed intense battle went way with the four and the two basilisks. Eventually they were able to slay one of the basilisks but the other one hit and stunned Raven to the wall.
Bang!
Party Member: Raven has been stunned
That message flashed in front of Sain's eyes. And then a light shone from the eyes of the remaining basilisks which turned Raven to stone as well.
Party Member: Raven has been Petrified, unable to fight until effects are healed
“Shit!”
Now their main tank was taken out as well. Lyndis as the sub-tank had to endure alone with Sain healing her as much as possible. Sain's mana levels were dropping quickly as well so they could not fight that much longer.
“Mana at 20%” said Sain firing some 'Mana Bolts' which were the least mana demanding of his spells.
Sain looked at Shadow and Lyndis' health. Lyndis just had over 30% while Shadow was only a bit better with 34%. Sain's own health was at 55% due to being further away from the basilisk.
Bang Bang Bang!
The Basilisk going berserk now that it was about to die, went on a rampage with it hitting off three of them at the same time reducing their health levels to or near critical point. It was only thanks to their higher than usual agility that they managed to get through it alive.
“Agh” Shadow let out a groan of pain and fell to one knee.
Lyndis was literally face down on the floor not moving at all though her being there means she had some health left.
Sain on the other hand was using his spear to keep his body up.
Health is below 5%, you will lose health until you are healed
“Damn....” Sain's consciousness felt like it was slipping away slowly as his health was decreasing. He looked and the Knight was in a very bad shape as well.
'Is this the end.....?'
That thought was the only thing that remained. They have in the end failed. They were not good enough at all. It was laughable how their cockiness gets destroy each and every time like this. From the forest on the first day hunting to the training Eden gave them. This world only showed them despair in the end for those who are not blessed.
“Hey, why is this door locked?!”
“Wait, don't break it!!”
BANG!
The door that sealed them in was completely destroyed by a foot. Yes it was just like them to show up like this.
Three people entered the room. Two of them, Sain recognised as Eden and Alexandra his guildmasters. The third...was a young boy with white hair? Sain did not know who he was but since he was with those two...
The three looked around and saw the room. Saw that three people were turned to stone, a giant basilisk and the Demon King and Knight fighting.
“I can get what happened here....” sighed Eden. He looked at the Basilisk without fear and said with killing intent.
“Disappear!”
The Basilisk was torn into pieces just like that.
“Hmp! This kind of cheap trick...Break!” Eden then raised his hand and clenched causing something that surrounded and covered the room....the thing that caused the strength of the Demon King to increase above others to break into pieces.
“What are you?!” demanded the Demon King shocked at this sight.
“Alexandra...heal the brats while I take care of this” said Eden in a very serious voice.
“Yes sir~” Alexandra walked dragging the young boy with white hair with her in her arms like he was a doll to play with.
“Cure Petrify!” chanted Alexandra immediately causing Miriel, Serena and Raven to turn back to normal from stone.
“What just...” “Where....”
Both Miriel and Serena were confused since they were instantly turned to stone when the battle just started against the basilisks. However Raven more or less knew what was going on even though he was turned to stone for a while now.
“Let the guidance of light protect the weak sheep that walk these lands. Blessing of Healing!”
Health will regenerate quickly for a total of 100 000 health in 1 minute
- All Injuries will also be healed in this time period as well
Alexandra used this second spell to heal everyone back to full health in one go just like that casually. It was proof of how much stronger she was compared to them.
“Now, let's watch the show~” said Alexandra making sure that the group does not interfere with Eden from now on and until this quest ends.
[p=center]xXx[/p]
Eden was quite pissed off right now. There were a number of things on his plate right now. In fact this was the perfect time for him to let loose....however there was a high chance that he would destroy most of this castle on one go along with everyone else besides Alexandra and perhaps White.
“You are the Demon King right?” asked Eden with an attitude with an enormous amount of presence.
“What are you?!” shouted the Demon King backing away. In fact the Knight was also backing away from Eden as well.
“Someone pissed off!” Eden used his hand to slice the space where the Demon King was. Sensing this, the Demon King jumped away barely dodging to safety. But this was the wrong choice.
“Sever!”
The same thing happened with the basilisk happened again. The space around the Demon King was ripped into pieces with the Demon King unlike the basilisk being heavily wounded instead of dying instantly.
“Guhh!”
The Demon King was on one knee so easily now. That was so much more power Eden had compared to the strongest rank of Demon Lord.
“How disappointing....say you there” Eden looked at the Knight who was frozen on sight...though it was for a totally different reason than the three that were turned to stone.
“Y-yes!” the Knight immediately responded to Eden who was completely superior in strength.
Knights and other martial art related people tend to respect those who were stronger than them deeply and wish to learn from them. Naturally this means they are submissive to those stronger than them as long as their relation isn't bad. This was especially the case if the other person was that much stronger than them.
“Hurry up and finish this damn quest. If I remember, there should be a hidden condition in the quest for you to kill the Demon King else something bad will happen right?”
“That is correct...other than those from my order, no other are able to properly vanquest a Demon King. They will revive after a few days if not for this 'power' I hold” replied the Knight walking to the Demon King who was critically injured now.
“Holy Sword!” The Knight took out a blade that was pure white in colour though still had that mechanical design to it and lifted it above the head of the Demon King stabbing it down.
“This is the end” the Knight said as he stabbed down beheading the Demon King. With this the crystal that captured the princess broke into pieces and the quest was finally finished.
“Die!”
The Knight looked at the princess that was captured and unsheathed a blade from the 'Holy Sword' and threw it at the heart of the princess in that moment to kill her.
Stab!
“Eh?” Even Eden was surprised at this action. The small blade sunk into the heart of the princess staining her white skin and dress in red.....no that colour that was coming out of her was not red.
“Black....blood?” muttered Eden seeing this. He finally knew the true identity of the Demon King.
The Knight fully covered himself with aura and killing intent towards the 'princess' of the castle. Several swords dropped and stabbed into the ground around him.
The 'princess' opened her eyes looking at everyone especially the knight that 'betrayed' her. With pure hatred in her face, she let out a cry.
“GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR!!!”
The black blood poured out of the 'princess' covering herself completely in something that looked like 'black mud' staining the white castle in her influence. The white dress turned into black armour that covered her body tightly and her hair and eyes turned completely white as well with her iris disappearing as she awakened.
The 'Holy Sword' disappeared revealing that the 'Demon King' still lived. The Sword itself was an illusion and was only used to trick the true 'Demon King' to reveal herself defenceless.
Yes, the final tale of the 'Princess, Knight and Demon King' will soon end...

Author's Notes:
- Word Count: Exactly 8900~
- Just finished this chapter and in the end I decided to extend this quest to another chapter...or at least it goes to chapter 8 as well....
- Yes...recently I felt that having less and less tables made writing much easier for some reason...ah the wishes of a lazy person here. Well another concern is that for some reason Eden became the 'main character' again.....I mean the moment I reintroduced him in this story things revolved around him and not those six new main characters that I made [th_096_K.gif]
