Back in the classroom Minita addresses the students just after they’ve introduced themselves

“Good luck and let’s get started with our first lesson… now I know we’ve told each other what we can do but I think it’s time to show each other as well, let’s head to the simulator”. Everyone walks into the simulator room and takes a seat, they all put on simulator helmets which have a large tube coming out the back which connects to the mainframe. The students turn the helmets on, lean back and fall asleep. Instantly the students are seen in a simulated gym. Minita continues to speak “so, as you are all probably aware there were a couple of incidences in the evaluation centres this year” Yuka, Mizo and Etsuko all look embarrassed. “To avoid any situations like this occurring in academies every academy is provided with a simulation training device, here you can’t be hurt, killed or destroy anything so please feel free to use your powers to their fullest. Does anyone want to volunteer to go first?”. Minita looks around at the students and then proceeds to look confused.

Minita begins to count the students “I’m sorry but I think there may have been a malfunctioning helmet only 9 of you seem to be here” a voice is heard out of nowhere. “Urm Sensei no I’m here”. Everyone looks around confused “it’s me, Daisuke, I seem to have accidentally turned myself invisible and I’m struggling to undo it, sorry I was a little nervous about showing my powers”. Everyone looks at the empty space and seems very impressed, Hiro shouts out “hey you better not use that to spy on us in the locker rooms” Daisuke begins to appear, his face is red and his cheeks are blushed. “No I would never do that Hiro I promise, at this point, I can’t even control my powers” Hiro replies “well you better not if I find anyone creeping on us girls I’ll set Mizo on you” everyone turns and looks at Mizo, she gasps and quietly whispers “I don’t want to hurt anyone here but also as Hiro said please don’t creep on us thank you” all the boys begin to shout out and mutter to each other. “No” “I wouldn’t do that either” Ryota turns to Daisuke. “I totally would if I could” Miss Minita jumps in “ok everyone that’s enough of that let’s make it clear the academy has strict rules as you all read in your induction letter. One of the rules is being respectful to your classmates, that said let’s move on, Daisuke do you want to show us any more” Daisuke rubs his head and replies “no I’m ok thanks, I'm not sure I can”. Minita nods and continues “that's fine, anyone else?”.

Tatsuo puts his hand up “Urm I still technically don’t know what my power is so I’ve got nothing” Shuichi puts his hand up “yeah to be honest at the moment I’m the same, I can use a katana a little but nothing that special at the moment”. Miss Minita mutters to herself “this could be tougher than I thought” she then speaks out loud “ok anyone else?”. Kenikai puts his hand up “Ok Sensei I’ll give it a go” he steps out into the gym in an open space, “ok guys so as I said my powers are pretty random so I have no idea what's about to happen, here goes” he activates his ability, as he does a smile comes across his face “oh yeah” he lifts his hand towards the empty space of the gym and shouts “here comes my first power” as he does so a massive wall of ice erupts from his hands filling up a large area of the gym, everyone looks incredibly impressed including Minita, everyone applauds and Minita speaks “that’s amazing Kenikai well done, you said first power, does that mean you also have a second one?” He smiles nervously “thanks Urm, yeah but it’s only doing this” he opens his mouth as he does a small but steady stream of water comes out making a small pool around his feet. Everyone looks very confused, Miss Minita speaks again “Urm ok well that’s good enough, you can stop that now thank you, fantastic ok, who’s up next?”.

Yuka puts his hand up “ok miss I’ll go”. He walks out to the ice wall and punches it as hard as he can, but nothing happens. Everyone looks around at each other and Tatsuo speaks up “is that it… now what?” Yuka replies “that’s it, now I have to wait” Tatsuo whispers to Shuichi “I hope when my power comes it’s not as bad as that”. Minita Sensei smiles politely “ok anyone else?”. Ryota shouts out to the group “has anyone got a coin”. Minita speaks up again “anyone else?”.

Etsuko puts her hand up, “yeah I can go, as we have a massive ice wall this will be perfect for me to show off my fire element” Yuka shouts at her, “hey but I need that for my power” Etsuko replies “you had your chance, double of nothing is still nothing” Yuka sighs and Mizo whispers to Yuka “if it helps I’m sure your power is super cool” Yuka smiles back “thanks”. Etsuko confidently walks up to the ice wall and shouts to everyone “step back and watch this” Shuichi speaks to the group. “It’s ok there's no need to worry, Minita Sensei informed us at the beginning no one can get hurt.” Etsuko swings her arm at the ice wall “wall of flames” as she does so a large chunk of the floor hurtles towards her, hitting her entire body and sending her flying backwards she continues getting thrown backwards for another couple of hundred meters. Tatsuo whispers to Shuichi, “I know you said people can’t get hurt here but that’s gotta hurt”. Etsuko respawns next to the group looking a little embarrassed. Miss Minita addresses the group. “ok thank you for that, as you can see if you suffer a lot of damage I've set it to respawn you here. Now Etsuko that was a very powerful attack just, urm, not the right one or in the right direction but I’m sure by the end of your time here you’ll have mastered your abilities. Mizo do you wanna show us what you can do?”.

Mizo looks down at the floor and shyly responds “Urm I don’t feel like getting angry right now and I don’t really like my body when I go into rage mode so can I do it another time please?”. Minita smiles warmly and responds, “of course, that’s fine, ok Kame that leaves you, he walks out next to the wall of ice and speaks towards the class “Kenikai do you reckon you could hit me with another wall of ice”. Kenikai looks at the teacher and she nods her head “it’ll be fine”. Shuichi walks up again holding out his hand and creating a very large ice wall which completely envelopes Kame. Shuichi speaks out. “Woah that attack would seriously hurt someone or even kill them instantly”. Everyone looks at the point where Kame would respawn but nothing happens. Yuka puts his hand up “Urm Minita Sensei, it’s been about 12 minutes since I used my power do you reckon I could show you the other half of it now”. “Of course, that’s fine, just remember Kame may still be in there somewhere”

Yuka steps out and turns to Kenikai, “what was that you said about my power earlier”. He turns and faces the ice, “RELEASE!” As he shouts this an incredibly powerful and large force is exerted from where he punched it earlier, both ice walls are completely shattered and blown away. As the area clears Kame is seen by the students, he is standing there completely unphased, everyone in the class has their mouths wide open with shock. Kame and Yuka both walk back into the group. Minita whispers to herself again “maybe there is some promise here after all”.

Minita presses the palm of her hand and a screen appears in front of her, she presses a button and the simulation shuts down. Everyone takes their helmets off and returns to class. Minata is at the front of the classroom, everyone looks disheartened except for Yuka and Kenikai who are sitting there with large grins on their faces. Minita addresses the room, “thank you, everyone, for taking part, there are definitely some areas of improvement but that’s what we are going to spend the next 2 years working on during this course and hopefully, we will teach you to fully utilise your power. Also, all of you will have the opportunity to apply for your hero licenses at the end of the first and second year, but please remember your powers are not to be used in combat outside of academy hours unless in self-defence. Now as you are all aware this academy was founded by Titan himself, once a week your combat classes will be with him and he will help in your development. Don't forget you will still have to complete a normal academic curriculum like any other student so please don’t allow your hero training to affect your grades, although we will try our best to make you all heroes not everyone ends up becoming one so please do your best in both areas. On that note let’s move on to the second lesson for today, as you may know, I’ll be teaching all your classes so if you want to get out your mathematics book” Yuka bangs his head against the table “anything but maths” after a gruelling hour of maths Minita looks at the clocks. “that’s the end of class today guys enjoy lunch” all the students breathe a sigh of relief except for Yuka who seems to be bleeding from his nose, mouth and ears.

All the students are sitting at the lunch table eating, Shuichi turns to Etsuko “I must say that was a surprisingly hard first math lesson, I guess they take the academic section of the course just as seriously as the power training side”. Etsuko continues “let’s just hope the rest of the academic lessons today aren’t that hard”. Kenikai jumps in, “at least tomorrow we have a whole day of ability training, only 2 more classes today and we are done”. Hiro stands up and addresses the table “hey I just had a thought how about we all go out after school to do some karaoke, it would be good to get to know each other and have some fun doing it”. Everyone looks at each other in agreement. The 2 following classes begin and end. Again Minita Sensei is seen standing at the front of the class. “Well done on completing your first day of Titan academy, I will review the simulation from earlier and hopefully create a training plan for all of you to help improve your overall abilities. In the meantime we have a surprise guest who would like to welcome you all”.

Titan walks into the classroom, all of the children gasp at the same time, he walks over to wildfire and kisses her on the cheek “hello everyone it’s great to meet you and thank you for all being so kind to my beautiful wife” Minita San giggles then whispers to Hotaka. “Not in front of the students” Titan laughs and continues to address the class “make sure to get good rest tonight, as tomorrow is your first day of ability training and surprise, I’ll be training you. I’ll get to know you all more and see you all tomorrow” as he says that the bell goes and the whole class look stunned. Ryota turns to Hiro. “Guess that’s karaoke off the table!”.
