Minita downloads into a simulation, in front of her one by one, the students appear and Minita addresses them. “As you are all probably aware your last class training simulation with Titan didn’t go so well, it’s been over a month of training hopefully your skills have improved enough for you to be less… destructive this time. Today's task will be infiltrating an enemy base, full of simulated armed guards. This is a covert ops mission so do not alert the enemy, your aim is to collect the information from the central computer using this USB stick, the enemies may be removed however you see fit, including lethal force. Also one of you has been captured and needs to be rescued, please decide which of you that will be. Here is a blueprint of the area”. She hands the blueprint of the base over to Shuichi and Tatsuo puts his hand up “Minata Sensei I would like to put myself forward as the one to be captured, currently my powers still haven’t developed so this will give us the best chance of success” Minata smiles “that’s very brave and good of you Tatsuo” Minita presses her palm and both herself and Tatsuo teleport off.

The class gather around the blueprint, Shuichi studies the map and starts to think. “Ok Yuka I want you to take Mizo, Daisuke and Hiro through the tunnels, the entrance is here, this will be the most heavily guarded area, you will need to gain access to the main control panel and give access to the information storage facility to Ryota, Kame and I. We should be able to get the requested information from there. That leaves Kenikai and Etsuko to break Tatsuo out, it should be the least guarded area as the simulation suggests they are unaware of an attack. It’s a small low guarded base with 10 or less personnel so shouldn’t be too hard. Good luck everyone, we all have radio communication so please relay the necessary information to each other. When your task is finished meet back at this point here outside the exit gate for regroup”. They all head off in their groups.

Shuichi, Ryota and Kame are sneaking through the base, a couple of guards begin approaching them, they hide behind some boxes and after the guards have passed, continue going through the hallway. Shuichi holds out his hand. “Hold on, wait for that security camera to turn”. They all look up and see the camera turning. “Ok now let’s go”. They finally end up at a locked door, Shuichi continues “ok this is it now we just have to wait for the others to get us the access code”. Ryota questions Shuichi “So what should we do once we get inside?”. Shuichi replies “when the door opens Ryota I need you to offer a quick distraction, in doing so Kame and I can take out the couple of guards that will be inside, from there I’ll download the documents. Whilst I’m doing that Ryota you find where they are hiding Tatsuo and report back to Kenikai and Etsuko and Kame will keep an eye out to make sure no other guards join us”. Ryota nods his head “understood, so now we just wait for the code, shall we check in with the others?”.

Yuka, Mizo, Daisuke and Hiro are heading down a long tunnel when they hear a radio call in their ear, it’s Shuichi on the other end. “Team 2 any update on the access code?”. Yuka replies “not yet team 1, but we should be getting close to the main control room”, as they approach a bend they see 4 armed soldiers. Yuka gathers them together “ok we need to make sure we don’t get caught here which means Mizo, we can’t afford for you to go on a rampage right now. Hiro I’m going to need you to somehow lure one of the guards over here. From there I’ll take them out, grab the gun and then Daisuke you will run in, make yourself super hard or whatever so the bullets bounce off you and when you’re close enough shoot the other guards. Got it?”. Everyone looks at each other, and Hiro speaks up “urm ok I think I can do my part” Daisuke speaks up “wait hold on, I’ve barely even begun to master going intangible let alone making my skin hard, plus I have never fired a gun before” Yuka grabs Daisuke by the shoulders “I believe in you Daisuke, you can do this”.

Hiro pulls out a bag of small metal balls “ok so I’ve got these, I have spent the past month making these fly in circles and increasing their speed so I’m hoping this should work with distracting” she takes one of the metal balls and makes it levitate, she levitates it close to the guards and then shoots it at the wall. It flies past one of their faces at an average throwing speed, and as it does it hits the metal wall making a banging sound. One of the guards turns to the sound “what was that?” Another guard replies “I don’t know, maybe there’s something around the corner, you go check it out”. The guard walks towards the students. The others start to panic “Yuka what are you going to do” says Hiro, he smiles “I’ve been working on something”. He looks down and sees a golden circle floating in the air, “when we got here I punched this area of space and I’ve been letting the power build, it’s not much but when he gets here it should be strong enough to knock him out”. Mizo smiles “You never told me you could make your pockets in thin air now, that’s really cool”. He begins to blush “well I was going to save it to show Titan and you together but I guess now’s the best time to use it”. The guard walks over and turns the corner, as he does he sees the 4 of them and goes to grab his weapon. Suddenly a large force is exerted which hits him and knocks him against the wall unconscious. The other guards turn and look to the unconscious guard.

Yuka shouts to Daisuke “Ok Daisuke now!”. Daisuke runs out, grabs the gun and runs towards the other guards, “oh yeah take this” the guards start shooting at him and suddenly he goes intangible and the bullets go straight through him. The gun also falls to the floor. He turns to his classmates “hey at least my uniform stays on when I go intangible”. He turns around and suddenly goes solid again, the guards reload and spray another round of bullets into him, he dies and spawns out of the simulation next to Minita. She turns to him. “Well done, that was a good attempt, however still needs some work. For now let’s watch how the rest of them do”. He looks up and sees a number of tv screens in the simulation. He sees the other 3 students in the hallway, they all look panicked.

Mizo begins to hyperventilate “guys I think, I can feel myself turning” Yuka grabs hold of her. “It’s ok, there’s no need to get angry, he’s not dead, it’s just a simulation”. She makes eye contact with Yuka and he sees the fire in her eyes begin to dim, suddenly a spray of bullets is fired near them as the guards begin to walk towards them, Mizo screams and her eyes start burning bright again. Hiro shouts out “she’s about to go on a rampage, get away”. Yuka grabs her and pulls her closer “no it’s ok, I’m here”. He hugs her and holds her tight “I’ve got you” her breath normalises and her eyes dim again, one of the guards goes around the corner and aims the gun at Yuka, in her normal form Mizo pushes Yuka back and knocks the gun out of the guard's hand, Hiro picks it up and shoots the guard, then turns the corner and shoots at the other 2 killing one but missing the other. As she does her bag of metal balls drops all over the floor, the other guard runs towards them and slips over on the metal balls, accidentally shooting himself in the process. The 3 of them together sigh a breath of relief. Yuka turns to Mizo “Hey thank you for saving me” she smiles back at him “Thank you for stopping me from getting angry”. Hiro jumps in “ok if you two are done making kissy eyes at each other we got a mission to complete”. They turn away from each other quickly and blush.

The 3 of them proceed to the bunker, Yuka starts using a computer and begins to type “ok I’ve got the code” he radios Shuichi. “Shuichi I’ve got the code it’s 210198. Shuichi replies “copy, thank you, now you all get back to the meeting point” Shuichi starts entering the code “Ok Ryota get ready” the last digit is entered and the door begins to open, Ryota runs in and sees a guard turn around. “Huh you 3 aren’t supposed to be here” Ryota shouts “Diversion” and releases a dove from his sleeve, the bird flys past the guard confusing him and Shuichi comes from behind Ryota and hits the guard with his sword, the guard turns into pixels and disappears. Shuichi turns to Ryota “Diversion… really” Ryota shrugs. “It worked didn’t it?”. Another guard runs towards them and starts shooting at Shuichi, Kame steps in front and the bullets fall to the floor, again Shuichi comes from behind Kame and hits the guard who then turns to pixels and disappears. Another guard runs up to the 3 of them and gets ready to aim, Kame walks over to him and kicks the guy's leg, knocking him to the floor, Shuichi then runs over and stabs his sword into him also making him disappear. Shuichi looks up “Good work guys, now let’s get this information, Ryota locate Tatsuo on the CCTV over there.” Kame heads over to the door and keeps an eye on the hallway.

Kenikai and Etsuko hear Ryota speaking over the radio “I’ve found Tatsuo, he’s in a storage room, turn left in front of you” they look at the CCTV camera and wave. They follow instructions from Ryota until they come to a locked door, Kenikai speaks “ok Ryota we have a problem, the door is locked” Ryota replies “try 210198”. Kenikai replies “I can’t see any keypad, but it has a lock, I think I need a key to open it”. Ryota looks at the screens “ok I’ve found 2 guards resting in what looks like the break room, 3 doors down to your right”. Kenikai and Etsuko slowly open the door to see 2 guards sitting inside. Kenikai speaks. Look the keys there, Etsuko if you knock the one on the right out I’ll get the one on the left, let’s treat this as a real mission and try to just knock them unconscious”.

Etsuko points her hand at the guard and suddenly the whole floor comes up from under them crushing him into the ceiling, the guard pixelates and disappears, Kenikai looks at Etsuko “I said unconscious not dead”. The other guard looks startled and goes to grab his gun. Kenikai runs in and activates his power, he suddenly sprouts wings, “oh damn” the guard shoots him and he falls to the floor, Etsuko lifts her hand and crushes the guy the same way as before. She runs next to Kenikai and kneels down to him on the floor “Etsuko, tell my family I love them” she sighs “yeah ok, I’ll see you in the classroom when we’re done” Kenikai spawns next to Minita and Daisuke. Etsuko picks up the key and opens the door to Tatsuo. “Hey, we’ve come to rescue you”. Tatsuo looks up. “Oh hey, cool, let’s go”.

Everyone starts running back. In the control room, Shuichi speaks “Ok It's downloaded let’s get out of here” they all begin to leave and meet up with the other students at the pre-selected point. They all run to enter the exit gate and as they reach it they all download out of the simulation. back in the classroom. Minita is at the front “ok so there were definitely massive improvements there, and you succeeded in both missions, however, 2 of your teammates died, you only came into contact with 9 non-powered guards but ad to kill them all to succeed. If this was a real mission it would have been much harder and the possibility of terminating the targets might not be an option. But it’s great to see the improvement and see you guys working together like real heroes. Well done. For now, let’s move on to the academic classes for today”.
