The host steps forward. “The first match is about to start, will Yuka Yoshida and Shigeo Ikehera head to the simulation area now”. Yuka starts walking over to the simulation room and on the way past sees Shigeo, who gives him a very dirty look”. Yuka smiles confidently and carries on walking. He goes into the simulation room, places on the helmet and downloads into the simulation, as he does he opens his eyes and sees Shigeo standing there smiling opposite him, everyone in the crowd is cheering with excitement. The host’s voice is heard. “Students be ready, your fight will commence in 3,2,1 Begin”. A horn sounds and Shigeo shouts out. “Hey Hey Hey, it’s the idiot from Titan academy, I still owe you for knocking into me earlier”. Yuka laughs “I’m pretty sure you bumped into me on purpose”. He laughs. “Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, remind me again it takes a while for your power to charge up right?”. He begins walking away from Yuka in the opposite direction towards the edge of the arena. As he does he continues speaking. “Bing bong, you guessed right, earlier when I bumped into you I did do that on purpose, as you’re probably aware my power is called switch”. Yuka stands still, watching Shigeo walk away.

Shigeo continues speaking. “My ability allows me to switch 2 objects' positions. But first I have to place a tag on the 2 objects I’m switching, therefore when I knocked into you earlier it gave me the perfect opportunity to do it, now I’m able to switch your position with another object, or as I did in the second round, I can switch an object with myself”. He stands at the edge of the ring “the first person to touch the floor outside this line will lose, and looks like it's about to be you”. He looks over at Yuka and sees he is smiling. Shigeo stops and turns around “What the hell are you smiling about, didn’t you hear what I just said, you’re about to lose”. Yuka replies “I saw what you did during round 2, where you pretended to be nice to my classmate Tatsuo but was instead placing a tag on him and that Nozomi academy guy. when I saw we were matched against each other I assumed you would do the same to me, so it gave me an idea. That’s why I let you bump into me, you may have placed a tag on me but… I placed something on you as well”. Yuka remembers back to when they bumped into each other and he places a pocket on him.

Back in the arena Shigeo’s face drops and he starts to look worried. Yuka continues to talk “you’re right it does take time for my power to charge up, but there’s been plenty of time since I placed that pocket, it might not have been much force at the time but right now I can see it’s definitely built up, and even now as you’ve been talking and walking and I’ve been stood here talking to you it continues to build. Do you realise it yet? I’m not the one who’s going to lose, you are”. Yuka smiles and suddenly Shigeo jumps backwards and switches positions as he does Yuka starts to fall towards the floor, he looks up smiles and shouts out “Too late”. Yuka releases his powers. As he does an incredibly massive force sends Shigeo flying at unbelievable speeds into the side of the arena. Yuka lands on the floor and looks at the board. A horn is sounded and a pop-up appears above Yuka saying ‘Winner’ with Yuka’s name underneath. He looks over at Shigeo and laughs “don’t mess with my academy again, got it”.

They both download out of the simulation and Yuka heads over to the academy area, the other students welcome and celebrate him. He sits down and Kenikai stands up, “well guess it’s my turn”. The host steps forward “will Kenikai Randy and Hideki Shimizu please head over to the simulation area”. They both get up and head over to the room as they do Kenikai looks over and sees Hideki smile and wave at him. Kenikai smiles and waves back awkwardly.

They both download into the simulation and face each other Hideki bows and Kenikai looks shocked. “This guy actually seems kinda nice”. Kenikai bows back and the countdown begins, as it hits zero the horn is sounded. Immediately Hideki sits down on an invisible chair and starts reading an invisible book. As he does so he pretends to take a sip of a drink. Kenikai looks confused. “What is going on, is this a tournament or a rest break. Come on, let’s fight”. Hideki looks up from his book momentarily, waves Kenikai over to him and then starts reading again. Kenikai get’s angry and activates his power. “Oh yeah, I’ll wipe that smile off your face”. He runs towards Hideki at a very fast speed, “right now I’ve got super speed, you don’t stand a chance”. He continues to run towards him but suddenly hits an invisible wall, he smashes into it and falls backwards onto the floor. Hideki closes his book and stands up then begins leisurely walking towards Kenikai whilst smiling.

Kenikai gets up and runs away, he then loops back around and runs at Hideki again from behind, again he hits an invisible wall. He gets up and runs off again. Hideki stops and watches as Kenikai runs around. This time Kenikai runs towards him in a zig-zag formation, he then stops around 10 meters from him, runs in circles around him and then runs at him again. This time he makes it through, Hideki suddenly acts out throwing something at Kenikai, Kenikai laughs and shakes his head then continues to run at him, suddenly something hits him in the face, Kenikai grabs his face and looks confused what the hell is this power, he looks over to see Hideki with what looks to be a bazooka, he fires it and Kenikai looks around in a worried expression “where the hell is this I can’t see it”. Suddenly it hits him and explodes sending him flying backwards. He lands and gets up. “Damn it, wait, if I remember the commentators said his power only works up to 5 meters from his body so if he tries to attack I can avoid it by getting distance, but then how am I going to get close enough”.

He looks over to see Hideki leaning on a box whilst eating an apple. “Man, this guy can create anything”. He shouts over, “hey is that apple even filling you at all”. He shrugs his shoulders and stands up properly, throws the apple core behind him and then acts out opening a door, he then waves Kenikai in. “This is it, if I attack fast enough, he won't have a chance to use his power against me which means he'll be done for”. He speeds in again and gets closer this time, just as he goes to punch him he suddenly gets stopped, something grabs him by the body and lifts him, as it does he looks down to see both his arms clamped against his body. Hideki smiles and walks towards the edge of the arena, as he does Kenikai is floating behind him. He gets close to the edge and Hideki turns around. Kenikai shouts out. “Hey, what the hell is going on what is even grabbing me right now”. Hideki thinks for a second and tries to act out what is carrying him. Kenikai looks more confused and continues shouting out to him. “Yeah, I didn’t get any of that”. Hideki shrugs his shoulders. Suddenly a scorpion tail comes from Kenikai and goes through Hideki’s chest. “You know I can have more than one power at a time if I’m lucky, I couldn’t get close enough so I let you capture me”. Hideki grabs his chest and Kenikai falls to the floor. Kenikai then whips his tail throwing Hideki out of the arena. He hits the floor and the winner screen appears again with Kenikai’s name on it.

Kenikai heads back into the main hall and joins his classmates. They all cheer for him and welcome him back in. Kame points behind Kenikai “looks like someone is here for you”. Hideki is behind him and bows then puts his thumbs up towards him. Kenikai smiles awkwardly and puts his thumbs up towards him as well. Hideki then sees Ryota and flails about in happiness then waves at him. Ryota awkwardly waves back. He then turns and walks off. Everyone sits down and Kenikai turns to Ryota. “You’re right, your roommate is definitely a bit weird”. “Right! But I guess he’s kinda nice though”. Kenikai nods. “Yeah true, which makes a change from the rest of the students at his academy”.

Etsuko starts walking towards the simulation room. As she does she hears her name being called from behind and she sees Daisuke running after her. “Hey, Daisuke what’s up”. He reaches her and stands up straight. “Oh well, nothing’s up, I just wanted to say good luck” Etsuko smiles. “Thanks”. Daisuke’s eyes start to widen “Urm Etsuko, you know you’re on fire right now right?” Suddenly the fire goes out and she begins to blush. “Oops sorry about that, lucky I’m in my uniform otherwise my clothes would have completely burned off, and that would have been embarrassing”. Daisuke begins to blush as well “oh urm yeah, we wouldn’t want that to happen would we”, he says awkwardly while rubbing the back of his head. Etsuko realises what she said and begins to blush even more. She quickly replies and runs off, “well gotta go, see you later” Daisuke shouts back to her “see you after you win”. Daisuke returns to the simulation area and sits down. Kenikai and Ryota start making kissy faces and acting out kissing the air. “Ohhh Etsuko please kiss me”. “Ohhhh Etsuko I don’t need to win the competition I’ve already won by getting to kiss you”. They laugh together and Daisuke begins to blush. Hiro rolls her eyes and turns away, “boys”.

Etsuko downloads into the simulation, opposite her, she sees Suzu download in also. The countdown begins and the horn is sounded. Etsuko starts by stamping her foot against the ground, a large boulder comes up and she punches it towards Suzu. Who in return holds out her hand and stops it. She closes her fist and the rock crumbles into pieces, she then fires them back at her, Etsuko creates a wall of water which slows the rocks down but a couple break through and hit her knocking her back onto the floor. Suzu laughs and speaks to Etsuko “did you just try to use my own element against me, you know, just because you can’t feel pain in here doesn’t mean you don’t experience the effects of attacks, and apparently you can also feel embarrassed because I’m embarrassed just looking at you. Looks like I’ll be done with this fight fairly soon”.

Etsuko stands up and starts running around her as she does she fires a wind attack at her which sends Etsuko backwards, “damn it, I wasn’t prepared for a wind attack, I tried to use a water attack, ok just take a breath and try again”. This time Etsuko runs directly at her, firing off a couple of fire and water attacks as she does. Suzu lifts her arm and an Earth wall emerges from the floor, blocking the attacks, Etsuko punches through the earth wall and looks to where Suzu just was, however instead finds a pillar of rock hurtling towards her which hits her and sends her flying backwards. Etsuko immediately gets up and again runs towards her. Suzu flicks her finger and a small rock comes from the ground in front of Etsuko, who trips over it and falls, sliding along the floor. Suzu hits her foot on the floor causing the ground under Etsuko to knock her up in the air, then she pulls her hand towards her causing another piece of ground to knock Etsuko towards Suzu. Her body continues to roll until she’s just in front of her, Suzu stops Etsuko’s body with her foot.

“Just because you’re able to control more elements doesn’t make you better than me, your control of each element is poor, and your power levels of each element are poor, even if you accidentally attacked me with a full power strike it would be weak compared to me, the only reason you managed to land a hit on Titan was that you caught him off guard. Takao was right your school really does suck”. Etsuko makes a dome of air come out from her body pushing Suzu back slightly. She stands up and shouts “you want my full power, well have it” as she does she sticks out 2 hands and screams. A very small flame comes out and stops half a meter from her body. Suzu laughs “well, that was embarrassing”. Etsuko huffs and again holds out her hand, a massive water jet comes from it and hurtles towards Suzu, an earth wall comes up and Suzu runs around it, uses the ground beneath her to push her and lunges towards Etsuko, kicking her in the chest and knocking her to the ground. Again she kicks the ground causing it to knock her in the air and then punches her to the ground.

Suzu looks down and laughs, “do you give up yet?”. Etsuko looks up with despise “never”. Suzu tuts and folds her arms, “guess we haven’t had enough yet then”. She stomps on the ground again firing Etsuko into the air, this time she acts out a series of movements causing Etsuko to get hit with a barrage of earth pillars knocking her back and forth until eventually, she falls on the floor a few meters in front of Suzu. “I said, do you give up yet?”. Etsuko pushers herself up off the floor “oh come on now, I can see you’ve got a broken leg and arm, you’ve also probably got broken ribs as well as maybe a fracture in your head, plus who knows what else is broken, you might not be able to feel the pain but you should probably be feeling the urge to forfeit right now”. Etsuko stands and looks up “I’ll never give up to someone like you, a hero fights until they can’t anymore” Suzu tuts “ok have it your way”. She hits her foot on the ground and a pillar emerges in front of Etsuko smashing her in the face and sending her flying backwards, her body lands just outside of the arena”. The winner screen is shown and Suzu chuckles. Etsuko walks out of the simulation room and Daisuke walks towards her “hey Etsuko, I saw what happened, I’m sorry you didn’t win but it’s ok, you did great”. She starts to cry and pushes herself past Daisuke and runs off. Daisuke turns around and watches as she runs away.

Mizo and Tatsuo walk towards the simulation room together. Tatsuo turns to Mizo, “I’m sorry Mizo but I won't hold back in this fight”. Mizo chuckles, ok guess I won’t either then”. Tatsuo chuckles, rubs the back of his head and mutters to himself. “I was afraid you were going to say that”. They both go into the simulation room and sit down, they nod at each other then place on their simulation helmets and download in. Tatsuo gets into a fighting stance and the countdown begins, as it reaches zero the horn is sounded. Immediately Tatsuo puts his hand up “I forfeit”. He smiles and the winner board comes up for Mizo. They both come out of the simulation room and everyone in Titan academy begins to laugh together. Takao and Takuyaki look over and glare at them.

Daisuke is wandering around the arena hallways when he sees a student from another school walking towards him. “Hi, have you seen a girl wearing my uniform about my height with streaks of red, yellow, brown and blue in her hair?". She points over to an open glass panel door, he heads outside and finds Etsuko sitting on a balcony looking over the city. He goes and stands next to her “Hi”, she turns and replies “Hey”. He looks at the view of the city and then points next to her “do you mind if I sit here with you?”. She holds out her hand to the area next to her and he sits down, for a minute they sit together in silence looking at the city. As they continue to look Daisuke speaks to her, “you know, I think you kinda rocked in that fight, pun completely intended”. Etsuko giggles, sniffs and then turns away “yeah right”. “No I mean it, I’ve seen you train nearly every day, so what you didn’t win but what you were doing in that fight was awesome, you were controlling your powers so well”. “Yeah but she humiliated me. And what about that, ‘you want my full power, well have it’ crap, I just embarrassed myself”. “Daisuke puts his hand on her shoulder “I don’t think that at all, and I don’t think anyone thinks that, if anything she’s the one who humiliated herself”. Etsuko turns and gives him the side eye “come on you think I’m going to believe that”. She turns away again.

Daisuke continues “no really, a real hero wouldn’t try and beat someone while they were down, especially not another hero, this tournament is to prove that you’re powerful sure, but also to prove you have what it takes to be a hero, and for that, you need to be kind, and she just wasn’t kind. Maybe it’s the power going to their head but not many of their academy is being kind. But I know you, and I know you are incredibly kind”. She turns and smiles at him “and next year when you have even more control over your powers and you are kicking everyone’s butts and wiping the smile off her face, possibly even winning the whole competition, then I’ll be right here to support you”. She laughs and wipes away a tear then leans in and hugs him. He is surprised for a second but hugs her back. They pull away. “Thank you Daisuke”. “no need to say thanks I’m always here for you”. They sit there smiling for a few seconds, and she shakes her head whilst smiling. “Hey, we better get back to watching the tournament, come on let's go”. Daisuke helps her stand up they get up and head back to the main hall.

Takuyaki is walking towards the simulation room, he hears someone shouting his name from behind, “Hey, Takuyaki”. He looks back to see Shuichi, “I just wanted to wish you luck for your match” Takuyaki turns and continues walking away “I won’t need it”. Shuichi shouts out to him, “hey, what’s your problem? I get you’re probably powerful but why are you acting like this”. Takuyaki stops turns around and walks towards him. “Everyone asks me why I turned down all the top schools. You really wanna know why? The academy you go to doesn’t define if you have what it takes to be a hero, training hard and doing the right thing, that’s what it takes to be a hero. So I chose the academy that everyone said was the worst, and I’m going to win this tournament and prove that with dedication and training, anyone can be a hero, no matter what academy they go to”. Shuichi smiles. “In which case… I’ll be rooting for you”. Takuyaki’s eyes widen, and he scoffs, turns around and starts to walk away. Shuichi continues, “I agree with your cause, even so, if I end up fighting you don’t think I will hold back”. “You won’t need to, the fight will be over before you know it”. Shuichi shouts back. “Who knows maybe I’ve trained harder than you”. They both smile and Takuyaki continues walking away.
