6.Jealousy

Arriving at the hospital, more than ten minutes had elapsed. Although the wound was still burning with pain, the bleeding had miraculously stopped on its own. What's more, it seemed to Bidegla that the wound was slowly healing. This discovery left Bidegla extremely surprised, with emotions swirling within him. Could it be that he possessed the ability to heal himself? It would be one thing if some time had passed, but this was clearly just over ten minutes. The only explanation seemed to be that this extraordinary ability had appeared out of thin air, leaving Bidegla baffled as to how it could be. However, the ability to see through things was enough to suggest that divine providence was looking out for him, and that this was no dream.

The nurse who was tending to his wound had a sweet appearance. "It's strange, your wound seems to be slowly shrinking," Tara Lassen said with some amazement, as she herself was surprised. When she had just finished stitching Bidegla's wound, she distinctly remembered it being at least five centimeters long. But now, the wound was less than three centimeters. How could this not astound her? Even though she had only been a nurse for a few months, she had never encountered anything so peculiar.

Looking up, she suddenly noticed Bidegla staring at her intently. Blushing, Tara Lassen shot him a reproachful glance and said, somewhat coyly, "What are you staring at?"

"Nothing," Bidegla quickly turned his head, feeling rather embarrassed to have been caught.

"How did you sustain this injury?" Tara Lassen asked, frowning.

"Oh, this is evidence from a confrontation with a villain," Bidegla said with a grin.

"Tch," Tara Lassen's expression clearly showed that she didn't believe Bidegla. In this day and age, who would still confront villains? They were all avoided, and besides, this guy had been staring at her private area earlier, so she had mentally classified him as a rogue.

"Bidegla, are you feeling better?" Jennie asked as she came over after settling the bill.

"I'm getting better," Bidegla responded upon seeing Jennie.

Despite having only known this woman for less than an hour, the experience had been more thrilling than an entire year. And when she had carefully wiped away his blood earlier, it had seemed to touch a soft spot in Bidegla's heart. Besides his parents, she was probably the first person to show such concern for him.

Tara, holding onto Bidegla's arm, appeared intimate with him. This sudden pang of jealousy made Jennie's body tremble, and then, like a girl who had done something wrong, she swiftly turned away, unable to look at Bidegla any longer.

"What's wrong with me? Why am I having such embarrassing thoughts?" Jennie's face flushed, and she felt flustered, like a startled deer. From junior high to college graduation, countless people had pursued her. If not tens of thousands, then at least thousands. She had even forgotten how many love letters she had received. Given her looks, she could be considered a popular person. However, without a doubt, no one in the past had ever caused her to experience such emotional changes. She didn't understand why Bidegla could make her so nervous. Perhaps it was because Bidegla had taken that knife for her. When they were in the car, even though she was pressed against Bidegla, she had still clearly heard the sound of the knife cutting through flesh. So, with her intelligence, it wasn't difficult for her to imagine what had happened.

In the past, those who pursued her were not lacking in physical appearance, temperament, and even surpassing Bidegla in all aspects. However, Jennie understood that what they valued was nothing more than her body. How many of them would truly be able to protect her with their lives?

Although they had only known each other for such a short time, Bidegla did not hesitate to use his own arm to block the blow in order to prevent her from getting hurt. Such a person undoubtedly shook her heart deeply.

"Alright, we can go now." Just as Jennie was lost in thought, Bidegla had already finished treating the wound, his face bearing a warm smile.

"Mm." Jennie nodded, her voice even softer than the buzzing of a mosquito.

As they left the hospital, Jennie's face slowly regained its previous calmness, turning into that composed and poised woman.

"Jennie, where are we going now?"

Glancing at her watch, Jennie replied, "I estimate the Gemstone Festival has just begun. If we go now, we should still make it in time."

"Alright, let's go now." Thinking of this as his opportunity to strike it rich, Bidegla couldn't help but feel a bit impatient.

"No, with the weather so hot now, your wound shouldn't be exposed to the sun like this. Come, I'll take you to buy some clothes first." With that, Jennie decisively took Bidegla's right hand without any explanation.

About half an hour later, in front of a huge shopping mall, Bidegla struggled to swallow his saliva, looking at the entrance of the mall. "Jennie, the clothes here probably cost thousands each. I think we should go somewhere else."

Although Bidegla was now wealthy, his mindset had not completely changed. He still thought the items here were too expensive.

Giving Bidegla a sidelong glance, Jennie naturally understood his thoughts and said, "You got injured for my sake, so what's wrong with me buying you some clothes? It's just returning the favor."

After saying this, Jennie regretted it, fearing she had hurt Bidegla with her words. But when she noticed that Bidegla's expression hadn't changed, she breathed a sigh of relief.

On the surface, Bidegla had not changed, but how could Jennie possibly know that when she said those words, Bidegla's body visibly trembled.

Return a favor?
