"By the way, Jennie, do you have any adversaries within your family?" Bidegla spoke, leaving Jennie Laura momentarily stunned and somewhat perplexed.
"Indeed, before he died, that man claimed that there was a mastermind behind him, and the true orchestrator of it all was someone from your Laura family," Bidegla's gaze flickered slightly, shocking Jennie Laura as she stood up from the sofa.
"How is that possible?" Jennie Laura exclaimed, clearly incredulous.
"Don't get worked up. We don't know the specifics yet. Just think back to your time in the family. Who might have targeted you? Or who had the strongest motive for such a crime?" Bidegla's words echoed in Jennie Laura's ears.
"I don't know," Jennie Laura buried her head in her hands, slumping back onto the sofa.
Clearly, Bidegla's words had a profound impact on her. The thought of her own family members coming after her, and even allowing others to rob her, was unthinkable.
"If you don't know, then don't dwell on it. As long as I'm here, I won't let anyone harm you," seeing Jennie Laura in distress, Bidegla gently embraced her, speaking with unwavering determination.
"Bidegla, do you believe that someone would truly forsake their family for the sake of personal gain?" Jennie Laura's voice could be heard from within Bidegla's embrace, as if she had already realized something.
Upon hearing her words, Bidegla hesitated for a moment before replying, "Human desire knows no bounds, so there are certainly those who would forsake their family for personal gain. It's just a matter of to what extent."
Bidegla's words were true. For ordinary people, forsaking their family might lead to a distant relationship, but what was truly terrifying were those who were willing to resort to murder.
"I've always been law-abiding within the family, never bothering others. If there's someone who has truly targeted me, it's only one person - the same person you saw last time, my second uncle," Jennie Laura spoke, her voice filled with pain.
After all, he was her blood relative, and she was reluctant to speak ill of him.
"Explain," Bidegla prompted.
"Well, before I went to university, there was an attempt on my life within the family. I didn't die, but I was gravely injured. The person my father suspected was my second uncle," Jennie Laura recounted.
Afterward, she continued to divulge details about her second uncle, undisturbed by Bidegla.
About ten minutes later, Jennie Laura had finished recounting everything, her face worn out and her eyes slightly red.
The reason for suspecting this middle-aged man was because he had previously vied for the position of family head with Jennie Laura's father, who ultimately succeeded, leaving him as second in command.
His motive was substantial, and his ill treatment of Jennie Laura had been widely known since her birth.
According to the family rules, the direct descendants of the family head were entitled to inherit the family business. Despite being a woman, Jennie Laura was still eligible to inherit.
Furthermore, when Bidegla last saw him, she witnessed his brashness and utter disrespect, behaving as if he were above everyone else.
Bidegla couldn't fathom that this man harbored no hatred in his heart.
After Jennie Laura's account, Bidegla finally understood how she had sustained the injury on her abdomen - it was from the assassination attempt she had survived.
Although Jennie Laura's wounds had healed and she had survived, the emotional scars left behind had lingered for years, still not fully healed to this day. Subsequently, lacking tangible evidence, the matter had been dragging on, unresolved and forgotten.
"Jennie, rest assured, by your side I will protect you. Anyone wanting to harm you will have to go through me first," Bidegla spoke, then tightly embraced Jennie Laura.
This beautiful woman would now need him to protect her. He could not allow Jennie to suffer any harm, no matter how small.
In his embrace, Jennie Laura's body trembled slightly, clearly crying. However, Bidegla did not offer comfort, as he knew this would touch her tender heart, and crying might be the best release.
In less than five minutes, Jennie Laura slowly stopped crying and fell asleep.
After carrying her upstairs and tucking her in, Bidegla left her room and dialed Stuart Buzer's number on his phone.

The call was quickly answered by Stuart Buzer. "Buzer, I have a favor to ask of you," Bidegla began, getting straight to the point.
"Go on, what is it?" Stuart Buzer's voice came through, tinged with weariness, likely already in bed.
"I want to investigate the vice president of Laura Group. I need all of his information. Do you foresee any difficulties?"
"Oh, it's just a small matter. Don't worry, I'll have it for you by tomorrow morning," Stuart Buzer said before hanging up.
Holding the phone, Bidegla glanced back at Jennie Laura's room. He then proceeded to the bathroom, took a quick shower, and returned to his own room.
Today, he had witnessed Stuart Buzer's power, and thus, he was eager to enhance his own strength. Only by becoming stronger could he protect the ones he cared about.
Bidegla spent the entire night practicing his Qi Gathering Technique. When he woke up, he felt refreshed, even more so than if he had slept. He was even considering whether to pass on this technique to Jennie Laura. If she practiced it, perhaps she could protect herself in the future.
In the living room, Jennie Laura had already bought breakfast, as had become her habit. She would wake up earlier than Bidegla every day and prepare breakfast.
As Bidegla walked out of his room, he made his way to the kitchen without freshening up. "Jennie, from now on, don't go out to buy breakfast alone. I'm afraid something might happen to you again," he said helplessly, looking at Jennie Laura's smiling face.
"It's all right, I've developed a habit, and besides, last time, you caught the villain, didn't you? Nothing will happen," Jennie Laura shook her head and then glanced at Bidegla. "You should wash your face and then eat."
"Okay," unable to persuade Jennie Laura, Bidegla sighed inwardly and then rushed to the bathroom to wash his face.
It seemed that he couldn't afford to wake up after her anymore; otherwise, if something happened to her, Bidegla would truly regret it.
"Jennie, I won't be going to the jewelry store with you today. I want to visit my brother," Bidegla said during breakfast.
"Very well then," Jennie Laura acquiesced, understanding Bidegla's intention to comfort Mordhadi. She didn't say much, knowing that someone going through heartbreak can easily experience emotional breakdowns, and a little comfort is always better.
"Oh, by the way, would you mind taking the bottle of red wine I have stored in my room and giving it to your elder brother as a gift?" Jennie Laura suggested, catching Bidegla off guard.
It was clear that Jennie Laura had misunderstood. Bidegla did indeed want to visit his elder brother, but it was not for comfort. After all, the jewelry store opening was still a long time away, and Bidegla hadn't seen his brother in a while. He was curious about his brother's activities.
During his time at university, Mordhadi had often taken care of him, even cleaning up after him on numerous occasions. Whether or not Bidegla could have completed university was a matter of debate, so Bidegla was truly grateful for his elder brother.
The flimsy excuse he had made up a few days earlier, which Jennie remembered, left Bidegla feeling somewhat ashamed.
Finally, Jennie Laura and Bidegla left home in a car, and Bidegla was holding a beautifully crafted box with a fragrant aroma, seemingly made of sandalwood.
These wealthy people truly knew how to indulge, even the packaging of their wine was so exquisite, Bidegla couldn't help but smile wryly.
Halfway through the journey, Jennie Laura let Bidegla out of the car, and after getting out, Bidegla called Mordhadi.
The call connected, and Mordhadi's somewhat groggy voice came through, as if he hadn't woken up yet. "Bidegla, what's the matter?"
"Elder brother, don't go back to sleep. Tell me your address, I'll come find you," Bidegla said, with a strange look on his face. In his impression, his elder brother had always been very diligent, waking up earlier than him.
Perhaps he hadn't been working for some time, which is why he seemed so dispirited.
"Come over then, my home is..." Mordhadi gave the address and then hung up the phone.
Bidegla flagged down a taxi on the side of the road and said, "Driver, please take me to 20 Red Bamboo District."
"Red Bamboo District?" Upon hearing Bidegla's request, the driver clearly hesitated and turned to look at Bidegla.
"Is there a problem?" Bidegla asked, puzzled by the driver's strange expression.
"No, I just saw that you are well-dressed and don't look like a poor person. Why would you want to live in Red Bamboo District?" the driver said slowly after scanning Bidegla.
"What, is it that only poor people can go to Red Bamboo District?" After hearing the driver's words, Bidegla rolled his eyes. It seemed that the driver was reluctant to do business.
"No, I mean Red Bamboo District is known as a slum in our Bamboo Sea City, it's dirty and disorderly, and there are often murders happening. Even some people have been attacked by thugs inside and haven't come out of the hospital yet," the driver said with a troubled look on his face. Although he was a driver in Bamboo Sea City, he really didn't want to go to Red Bamboo District.
Many of his colleagues had had trouble there, getting robbed in broad daylight. It was a common occurrence, and some people were even stabbed by small-time criminals and still hadn't come out of the hospital. It was an area where law enforcement turned a blind eye unless something major happened.
So, seeing Bidegla was heading there, he was both unwilling in his heart and also kindly reminding Bidegla.
"Drive without worries, if anything happens, I'll take responsibility," Bidegla said, taking out two hundred yuan from his pocket. "Will this be enough?"
"Very well." Seeing Bidegla throw out two hundred bucks without hesitation, the driver couldn't be bothered to say much and simply started the car.
After about half an hour of driving, Bidegla was finally brought to the so-called Red Bamboo District by the driver. Initially, Bidegla thought the Red Bamboo District was filled with skyscrapers, but upon arriving, he realized the driver was right. The entire area was made up of dilapidated houses, all seemingly on the verge of collapse, truly a place of danger.
Even the roads were full of potholes, making it feel as if this place did not belong to the city of Bamboo Sea.
"Brother, I can only take you this far. You'll have to go in on your own." The driver stopped the car, unwilling to go any further.
"Then you may leave." With that, Bidegla pushed open the car door.
"Thank you." The driver spoke before turning and walking away. He didn't want to stay in this eerie place.
Strange glances kept coming from all directions. Bidegla was dressed head to toe in designer brands, clearly a wealthy person. As he moved, many people cast envious looks in his direction.
In their expressions, Bidegla could feel their envy towards him.
