47.The Beauty of Red Wine

47.The Beauty of Red Wine

"Jennie, have you had your dinner?" Seeing Jennie's perspiration, Bidegla took the things from her and inquired.

"No," Jennie shook her head. She had been running around various counters all day and had no time to eat.

"Well, in that case, to treat you, I will personally cook a meal for you today," Bidegla said, surprising Jennie .

"You can cook?" Jennie looked at Bidegla strangely, seemingly very doubtful.

"Of course, in the year after I graduated, I lived alone and learned some signature dishes. Do you doubt my words, Jennie ?" Bidegla laughed.

"No," Jennie shook her head, then blushed and said, "But we have no vegetables at home."

Indeed, since Bidegla arrived, he had rarely seen Jennie in the kitchen; most of the time, she ate out before returning.

"It's okay, we can go buy some now. Anyway, this meal is on me," Bidegla said proudly, patting his chest.

"Then wait for me while I take a shower," Jennie said as she ran up the stairs.

A woman taking a bath was undoubtedly the most troublesome thing, but this time, Jennie did not make Bidegla wait long. In just ten minutes, she had already bathed and come out.

Now, Jennie looked very beautiful, with her long legs wrapped in a pure white dress and a pair of crystal high heels, making her truly stunning.

Watching her swaying long legs, Bidegla almost had a nosebleed.

Even though Bidegla was familiar with Jennie , he couldn't help but stare dumbfounded. A beauty like Jennie , no matter what she wore, always stood out.

"Jennie , we're just going out to buy some vegetables; there's no need to dress so extravagantly," Bidegla said, feeling a little tongue-tied.

"You don't understand. Let's hurry," Jennie glared at Bidegla and then affectionately took his arm.

Caught off guard by her sudden embrace, Bidegla felt his head spinning for a moment. But after a brief moment of hesitation, he smiled and accepted Jennie's intimate gesture.

There was no reason to pass up such an opportunity; that would be foolish.

Jennie's outfit today had a youthful vibe, making her look like an angel. Bidegla now understood why she had changed and taken a shower.

Throughout their journey, the sight of the two of them together turned heads everywhere. Even as they left "Bamboo City No.1," the security guard at the entrance was left speechless.

While Jennie skipped along happily, Bidegla received countless envious glances. But he paid them no mind, as he knew that going out with Jennie would always attract such attention. These people could only envy and be jealous; it was all just a feast for their eyes, with no real significance.

Soon, the two of them arrived at the market, which was still bustling even though it was already dark outside.

"Ma'am, how much is this?" Jennie , with one hand holding Bidegla's hand, asked the seller about the price of a bunch of celery.

Seeing that the buyer was a pretty girl, the seller smiled kindly and said, "Let's say four dollars per pound."

"Oh, can you do three fifty?" Jennie asked, leaving the seller slightly surprised, as she didn't seem like someone without money.

But seeing how sweet Jennie was, the seller smiled and agreed, saying, "Okay, three fifty it is."

The purchase of celery complete, Jennie joyfully hoisted the bag onto her arm. Much of what followed was Jennie once again bargaining with the vendors, leaving Bidegla rather speechless. Jennie had plenty of money, so why did she care about such a small amount?

However, seeing Jennie so happy, he said nothing and instead felt a warmth in his heart. Jennie, in the future, would surely be a good woman to manage the household.

A woman like her, he would never let anyone take away.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Thinking of this, Bidegla smiled and joined Jennie in bargaining with the vendors, thoroughly enjoying the process.

After strolling around the market for about half an hour, they finally bought all the ingredients and prepared to head back.

"Jennie, I never knew you were such a skilled bargainer," Bidegla spoke, causing Jennie to blush.

"Oh, it's nothing. I just didn't want your money to run out," Jennie replied, her words seeming slightly ambiguous, causing her to quickly lower her blushing face.

On the way back, they naturally received the gaze of many people, looking just like a couple on parade.

Now, with each carrying some vegetables, they looked like a newlywed couple, much to the chagrin of many onlookers.

It's as if all the good produce has been snapped up by pigs.

Arriving at the entrance to the villa area, Bidegla suddenly felt a sense of danger coming from afar. He turned around and felt his vision blur, as if a dark shadow had passed by.

But when he rubbed his eyes and looked again, there was nothing to be seen.

"What's wrong?" Jennie asked, puzzled by Bidegla's sudden stop.

"Nothing," Bidegla shook his head, but he glanced in the direction where he had seen the shadow, yet there was nothing there.

Shaking his head, Bidegla attributed it to his eyes playing tricks, as security at Bamboo City No. 1 was very tight, making it unlikely for outsiders to sneak in.

People who lived here were either very wealthy or very important, so the security guards patrolled day and night, rarely allowing outsiders to enter.

"Let's go, let's go back," ignoring the amazed looks of the security guards, Bidegla led Jennie back home, his arm around her soft one.

Bidegla was a good cook, and his skills were quite decent. So, when he brought out the last dish from the kitchen, Jennie's mouth dropped open in astonishment.

"Did you make all this?" Jennie asked incredulously, looking at Bidegla.

"Hehe, try it and see if it's good," Bidegla chuckled and then sat down.

"Okay, I'll try," Jennie became interested and then picked up a piece of celery and put it in her mouth.

But before she could even chew, she spat out the celery and used her hands to fan her extended tongue, looking very cute.

"What's wrong, don't you like it?" seeing Jennie's reaction, Bidegla was also a bit strange as he picked up a piece of celery.

The dish wasn't missing any ingredients, it was just a little spicy.

"This dish is too spicy," Jennie said, her face turning red from the heat.

"Maybe I have a personal preference for spicy food. I didn't know you don't like spicy food. Shall I make another one?" Bidegla said apologetically.

"No need, my family never let me eat spicy food when I was young, so I've always longed for spicy things. Wait a minute," Jennie said, running to her room and quickly returning with a bottle of red wine.

The bottle of red wine was opened, and even Bidegla, who rarely drank wine, could smell a strange fragrance. This wine was probably good.

After taking a sip, Bidegla nodded. This wine really tasted good, much better than white wine, with a lingering aftertaste.

Certainly, it is his lack of knowledge about the price of the wine that has led to such thoughts. If he were aware of the exorbitant cost of this bottle of wine, he would not entertain such ideas.

He has everything - the wine, the beautiful woman, and now only the candles are missing. However, this thought was never voiced by Bidegla; he had to suppress it within himself.

In the dim light, the sight of the blushing beauty left Bidegla somewhat dazed. Jennie Laura was undeniably stunning, and no matter how long he looked at her, Bidegla never felt repulsed. In fact, he found himself wanting to gaze at her like this for the rest of his life.

As the meal drew to a close in the romantic atmosphere, Bidegla returned to his room feeling a heaviness in his head. He knew the effects of the wine were starting to take hold. Without any training, he collapsed on his bed and fell into a deep, drowsy sleep.

The next day, he awoke early as usual, although his head still felt heavy. This was his body clock, unwavering and unchanged.

Using his insight, he glanced at Jennie Laura's room and saw that she had already left. However, when he looked into the living room, Jennie Laura was nowhere to be seen, and there was no sign of breakfast.

According to their routine, Jennie Laura should have been back by now. This strange thought made Bidegla shake his head and step out of his room. Before he could even reach the bathroom, he noticed a note on the living room table.

"Get some rest. I'll bring breakfast back when I return."

The note was written in elegant script, signed by Jennie Laura, and adorned with a cute smiley face. Being doted on felt good, and as this thought crossed his mind, Bidegla couldn't help but smile. However, before his smile could fully form, his expression suddenly changed.

According to their usual routine, Jennie Laura should have been back by now and would have left a note if she had gone out. If she had something to attend to and couldn't come back, she would have called him. With these realizations, Bidegla's smile vanished, and he immediately took out his phone to call Jennie Laura.

The phone rang repeatedly, but there was no answer. With each unanswered ring, Bidegla's heart sank a little more. After making two calls without a response, he abandoned his morning routine, rushed out of his room, and opened the front door.

Thinking back to the dangerous aura he had sensed upon returning the previous night, he regretted allowing happiness to cloud his judgment. After practicing the Concentration Technique, his senses had become much sharper, and the feeling of danger was not unfounded.

The thought of not using his insight to see what had disappeared into the darkness tormented Bidegla. He felt his heart clench with anxiety, and all he could think of was, "Jennie Laura, please be safe."

The same thoughts kept echoing in Bidegla's mind, and he finally made his way to the security office at the entrance.

"Have you seen the young lady who returned with me last night?" he asked the guard, his expression filled with distress.

"Yes, I have," the guard replied, puzzled by Bidegla's urgency. "She left the villa about half an hour ago."

The guard found it odd but didn't press for more details.
