Ling Chen POV:
After looking at Li Zhou's training and comparing him to his opponents it will be impossible for him to win by ordinary means so I'll just have to be a bit creative first of all with just him using Steel weapons and armor he shouldn't have any problems with ordinary opponents at the qi gathering level but the problems come when he has to face people at the peak of the qi gathering level and especially those few at the foundation establishment level it would be impossible even with the steel weaponry as the power difference is too great. But with me just using a small portion of my brilliance I can come up with a flawless strategy that will guarantee his victory and my pockets being full.
I first had to go back and get Master Zhuang to help me forge some small stuff first of all I created a magnesium-based formula to be used for a flashbang which is key in the strategy to get Li Zhou to win I decided against engineering a way charge the magnesium formula instead I'm going to make this look like some sort of secret technique of the Li household or something and get Li Zhou to set off the flashbang with his qi
Luckily for me sourcing this magnesium wasn't too much of a problem as there is an iron mine nearby and getting some magnesite was easy. it was also quite simple to get the potassium from some granite the real problem came from trying to find the right formula to create the brightest light when ignited I tried many different combinations but nothing seemed to be working until I decided to try using a small amount of chlorine which I was able to get from some salt water which I then used to create a small explosion and that's when I realized that I had found the perfect combination all this experimentation took me about 1 week to complete and perfect and during this time I've been discussing with Li Zhou about strategy and how he can win the tournament.
I've also been creating his tactics and training him on how to use them as well as giving him some other things that will help him greatly.
Li Zhou POV:
This past week has been very intense training with Li Zhou but not in the ways I have expected for one it was a lot more reading about my potential opponents and how the strategies to deal with them and less about learning some powerful secret technique if the reports weren't so well written and the strategies seemingly robust I would be worried but as it is I trust Ling Chen implicitly at this point.
The tactics that he has me using are very interesting and I have to admit they look quite effective, especially against people of higher cultivation levels I just hope that I don't have to face anyone at the foundation establishment level as I'm not sure my equipment will be able to stand up to that sort of power.

The other thing Ling Chen has been working on is some sort of strange powder which he tells me is a key part of the plan but he won't tell me what it does or how to use it which is very frustrating but I trust him so I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
Until finally after a week he came to me looking all enthusiastic saying he has finally completed it and that my victory is guaranteed after a week of working on it he showed me he told me to set it off using my qi and when I did my mind was blown the entire room became so bright that I couldn't see a thing and it was so loud that my ears were ringing.
Ling Chen then told me that this was a magnesium-based flashbang and that it would be very useful in the tournament as a way to disorient and blind my opponents so that I can defeat them easily he also said that he has a few more things up his sleeve but he won't tell me what they are as he wants it to be a surprise.
I just hope that everything goes according to plan as I don't want to let Ling Chen down.
Ling Feng:
It is only two weeks away from the big tournament but training has been intense. Master has gotten much more aggressive with his training and everyone has become tenser and focused in class it seems this tournament is a much bigger deal than I thought "master is there a reason that you want me to win this tournament so bad it happens every year but for some reason, it seems like this year is different." I finally got the courage and asked my master. "sigh, I wasn't going to tell you because I didn't want to add any more pressure to you but the local powerhouse sect the soaring sword sect has announced that they will be hosting a recruitment tournament and every village has received entry tokens based on their size. the Sunki village was given only 2 tokens so me and the other elders in the village decided that the tokens will be distributed based on the results of this year's tournament.
The top prize will get 1 token and the runner-up will get the other one. this is very important for our village as if even one person from our village can enter the soaring sword sect it will greatly increase our status as well as bring in many benefits." Master replied with a very serious expression. "So that's why you want me to win so badly?" I asked with a shocked expression. "Yes, that's exactly why but don't worry I have full confidence in your abilities and I know you will be the one to bring glory to our village," master said with a proud smile.
"I won't let you down master," I replied with a determined expression. "I know you won't now go and get some rest you have a big day tomorrow," he said while shooing me out of his office. I went back to my room and started meditating I need to be in peak condition for the tournament if I want to win.
