Chapter 11 Martial arts competition?

Ling Feng POV:

It's been a week since I broke through the Foundation establishment level and I feel like a new person my powers have grown significantly and I'm now able to sense the qi of others and even follow their movements. There is going to be a competition in 3 weeks to test the strength of this year's group of youth cultivators the village elder told me that every important person in the village will watch this tournament so it's my opportunity to show the people of Sunki village how much of a talent I am.

I've been training every day with the village elder to try and increase my strength as much as possible. Because I just broke through recently the village elder told me to work on improving my cultivation techniques because that will give me the biggest boost in strength in the shortest amount of time.

So I've been working hard every day to try and learn as many techniques as possible. The village elder has also been teaching me how to use qi in combat which is proving to be very difficult but after a few days of training, I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. There will be 100 youths in this competition all from the village who are between the ages of 15 to 18. The strongest people in the competition will also be in the Foundation establishment level but they have been in that level much longer than me and have refined their techniques to a higher degree than me so realistically speaking I shouldn't have a chance of winning or well that would be true if I wasn't a legendary Indigo level talent but with my talent, it means that the qi I refine is going to be more abundant and it will be of a higher class than everyone else.

I'm not sure what the prize is for winning this tournament but I don't care because my goal isn't to win a prize it's just to show off how strong I am and show the rest of the village that there is a new prodigy around and that prodigy is me. There are 4 people I have to especially watch out for and that is Ji Ning who is an 18-year-old of the Foundation establishment level even though he has cultivated to an impressive level they say his sword techniques are unimaginably profound

Then there is also the other 18-year-old in the Foundation establishment level his name is Xiao Yuntian he's a very proud person and comes from one of Sunki village's most powerful clans it seems like everyone expects him to win as he was born with an innate powerful body so he. The third person I have to watch out for even though she has only just reached 1 7 years old her cultivation talent was assessed as being unexpectedly high they say that she can rival Ji Ning when it comes to comprehension skills. She uses a spear and comes from the Chen clan her name is Chen Fan.

The last person I have to be careful of is an 18-year-old his name is Li Zhou he comes from the Li clan and they are a powerful blacksmithing clan in Sunki village. They say that even though he is at an early stage as well he isn't that powerful and mainly focuses on his blacksmithing techniques he has been gifted some incredibly powerful equipment from his clan so he can fight at an equal level to the other geniuses in the village. Luckily there is a rule that no immortal weapons can be used in this competition to make it fairer.

Ling Chen POV:

The big thing going on in the village at the moment is that there is a martial arts competition going on in the village in about 3 weeks for the young cultivators to test their power and for the geniuses to rise to the top. But while all the preparation for the tournament is going on I've just been working on improving the design of the gun when we finally got word from the Li clan that our first payment for the steel weapons has arrived so I'm on my way to the Li clan grounds to pick it up. When I knocked on the large door frame of the Li clan house a young man approximately 2 years older than me opened the door to let me in "Hello, what's your business with the Li clan?" he said to me with a cold expression. "I'm here to pick up the payment for the steel weapons we delivered last week," I replied.

"Oh, you're that blacksmith from Zhuang's workshop I'll go and get my father," he said while walking away. A few minutes later Li Zhu walked into the room "Ah, you must be Ling Chen from Zhuang's workshop I've been expecting you," he said. "Yes, I'm here to pick up the payment for the steel weapons we delivered last week," I replied. "Of course, of course, please follow me," he said while leading me to a large room that was filled with stacks of gold and silver ingots as well as some precious stones. "This is your payment please count it to make sure it's all there," he said.

I started counting the spirit stones and found that there were exactly 650 spirit stones. "Thank you very much for your business," I said while bowing. "It's no problem we were very happy with the quality of the weapons being created from the steel," he said. "Of course, please let us know if you need anything else," I replied before turning to leave.

While I was about to leave the Li residence I once again saw that young man who was training his martial arts "Oh that's my son Li Zhou he is training very hard for that upcoming tournament." Li Zhu told me with a proud expression on his face as he looked at his son training very hard. "Oh well best of luck to him in the competition," I told him as I was leaving the house. On my walk home I kept thinking about the competition and I feel there is an opportunity to make incredible amounts of spirit stones from it all I'd need to do is give someone with low odds of winning some of the equipment we make and help them with some cheap tactics and winning a local competition like this shouldn't be too hard. So then because I know that the underdog is likely to win I can then just bet all my current spirit stones on them and I can reap some crazy profits I thought with a huge grin forming on my face
