Improving On The Spot

Yun Tian’s fastest movement technique was the Wolf’s Lightning Skill. He had already reached the perfection level with the skill and just kept on getting better with it, improving it to an even greater state than described within the skill itself. But!

“It’s still not enough. I can do better! I can use the skill better! I can improve the skill even further! I can go faster!”

His qi rushed out of him in waves covering his body and transformed into lightning as he moved faster, expending even more qi than he ever had before. His widened meridians were stressed to their utmost pouring out qi at the highest rate they could handle.

Besides this, he reached inside himself bringing up all his insights hoping to reach a higher level with the skill just to go even a little bit faster. If he was going too slow, he would just find a way to go faster, even if that meant improving his movement skill right then and there.

He brought up all his comprehensions about ferocity and his qi turned more erratic as the lighting on him looked more aggressive as it flashed all over him. It constantly sparked all over him and it looked like it wanted to escape his control and destroy everything around him. At the same time each step he took contained a much greater force than before and he slowly resembled a ferocious beast covered in lightning more and more. He inherently grasped where to step and how much force to apply to get the best results.

His speed increased as the lighting on him flashed about. At the same time, the path he went down was completely destroyed. With each step he took, a small crater would be created as if lightning had struck there.

He wasn’t done yet though. The Wolf’s Lightning skill had two core components like the skill’s name suggested. His comprehension over ferocity that he integrated into the skill had recently increased by a large amount and so did the strength of his body which also had a large impact on the skill, but his comprehension over lightning had not increased by much. And, he felt that his comprehension over lightning influenced the skill more than anything else.

‘How do I become lightning? Lightning is fast. It is erratic. It is bursting with energy. It destroys whatever it touches. However... It is also fuel. It can be my fuel.’

With that final thought, the lightning surrounding and flashing all over his body retracted somewhat. It still sparked all over him, but it now seemed to seep into him instead of just being around him. As this process happened, his speed increased massively, it was a much greater increase than his previous increase of speed, greatly shocking him.

‘Woah! It seems I was right about lightning being the core component that influenced the skill the most. But, I guess it also has to do with the fact that I completely changed how lightning is used in the skill though.’

He caused less destruction as the lightning stopped flowing outward as much. He felt he had much greater control over the lightning now, although he could only better contain it to his body, stopping most of it from spreading outwards. Some still escaped his control and destroyed where he stepped as he travelled. Still, he was happy as now much less qi would be wasted while using the skill.

It wasn’t all improvements though, he felt some pain and felt the skill now had somewhat of a burden on his body as he was basically using lightning to supercharge himself, instead of just surrounding himself and using it to propel himself forward.

He thought, ‘Only I should be able to use the skill this way. After all, no other cultivator’s body would be able to sustain using the skill this way.’

At the same time, he was also expending considerably more qi now when using the skill, both from his dantian and his demonic core as he was using his demonic qi to heal and strengthen his body while using the skill.

Still, it was all worth it. His speed had increased once more, but he didn’t stop his thoughts doing his best to increase his comprehension over his movement skill even just a little bit to go even faster.

He moved extremely fast while also creating craters in the road as he went. His only companion’s Bolin in his arms and the extremely loud booming sounds he would occasionally create.

Many beasts heard the loud commotion he made and most instantly ran far away as nothing weak could make such a huge commotion. However, there were also some stronger demonic beasts who went to investigate the commotion he made.

He didn’t care about any of that though. After all, as soon as something heard him, he would already be very far away from his previous spot.

With his speed, he was now going over a hundred times faster than when he traveled with the wolves. While this was partly because they moved slower to conserve energy and weren’t exactly in a hurry, it was mainly because he was just that much faster than the wolves.

He just broke through with his dantian and then he also greatly improved his fastest movement technique which he didn’t even use when travelling with the wolves before. So, when he went all out now, the speed they were going at before just couldn’t compare.

With his great speed he traveled extremely far in a short amount of time and it wasn’t long before he eventually spotted something up ahead.

A smile broke out on his face for a second before immediately disappearing afterwards. What he saw wasn’t a town or anything like that. It was merely a horse carriage surrounded by several people on horseback.

Quickly though, his mind was also filled with a little confusion and wonder. The carriage in the middle of the men on horseback was being led by something different than the horses they were riding on. It was being pulled by two somewhat ethereal and ghostly looking horses.
