I was sort of surprised hearing drew go crying all of a sudden,I didn't spent a lot of time with her to know her better rather she is a person who I had only met a few hours ago.I never even put her in my eyes since I already had someone stowed into my heart,she was simply the one bar maiden who had helped me get a proper room to rest,maybe this encounter was good for her,nothing good comes out of affection such as this,after all this is her home not mine I wouldn't stay here if I had the choice and I had whole lot of other things to do that needed my attention holding a proper relationship wasn't in my fortune right now even though hestia accompanies me most of the time making our daily interaction blossom on each other..

Thinking like this I turned my attention back down to scar her heart was pounding furiously as she kept tight in my embrace her head was fully flushed almost making steam come out of her ear holes.

With these words I opened the wooden door and swiftly made my way down stairs I couldn't see the bar maiden anywhere she was probably still upstairs inside her own room,I felt bad for her and had the impulse to just go and apologize tell her the truth,but at the same time I wasn't obligated to do that it wasn't even my fault so feeling guilty is unnecessary.

Scar followed me nimbly she had sort of a bored and passive look on her face while walking behind me until we finally got to the dining table and started eating.

The cook was another woman pretty big and beautiful at that sort of old which still gave her a natural charm nonetheless she closely resembled drew in a way with long black hair and faintly sparkling eyes making me believe that she is indeed drews mother.

She came in personally and delivered us our food looking at me she apologized to me about what happened that her daughter had barged into my room,from the way she was looking at me I could guess that her daughter must have told everything to her,I accepted the apology and gave her my own paying the price of both me and scar for the food and the stay in the hotel adding a few more silver coins as compensation to make myself feel better.

The woman said giving me back 6 silver coins that I had mixed in with my original payment,I didn't take it and closed her palm staring at her with my golden eyes.

Something in the woman must have struck when she gazed at me it made her shiver,but in the next moment I revealed my kind smile and shoved her palm back to her.

The woman was surprised showing a thankful smile she respectfully bowed at me and left the hall.Scar who was up until now wolfing down her food stopped momentarily and raised her eyebrow at me,she understood why I had given such amount of money,but she didn't call up on it and rather looked at me amused.

Taking a piece of hard barley bread into my hand I slowly took a bite and raised my gaze up towards scar a bit cold.

-Finish fast we won't be staying here for too long

Scar got my cue and quickly continued to wolf down her food,in a sort of weird aspect she was very close to hestia unladylike aspect I mean even though she refers to herself as a "Lady" it made me sort of like this person not in a intimate way,but the way she resembled hestia slightly.

The dinner was fast we didn't have conversation not that I wanted it to happen after finishing and leaving the tavern bar,I asked scar of a essential supply shop from where we could get traveling items that we would need scar quickly navigated and showed me multiple shops in the area that had different prices for different items some quality high while others were outright useless.

Scar new the city like the back of her hand and lead to all kinds of shops buying the most necessary items for traveling it was pretty medieval there weren't any pills of that sort only raw herbs and ointments that could be used as medicine the tools also ranged from simple knives to hand axes,rope,tents and dry food.

I ended up buying all of these items and when scar offered to buy a backpack to store them,I did,but just for the disguises sake actually putting everything into the clavicula.

The cost for these items weren't cheap,but they seemed sufficient for most people since they were essential to a traveler.

-Ahh i forgot to ask...where are you actually going ?

Scar asked,we had already bought everything we needed and were making our way towards the magicians association,I asked scar about some money exchange place were I could convert silver into gold she understood and quickly lead me towards a shady place where I gave 100 silver and got a single gold coin in all reality my money was only a silver and a gold coin which I could infinitely rewind to make more of,dollar bills on the other hand were ore tricky since they didn't work in most places with their serial number.

Not that I every wanted to try of course.

I coughed clearing my thought and turning my thoughts back to scars question in hand.

-The capital I am intending on participating in the tournament...

Hearing my words scar suddenly snorted almost fitting into laughter really.

-You...ahhaha...seriously want to participate in that ? What ? Is your dream to marry the princess or something ? You know that every participant is going to fight to death right ?

Scar mocked trying to scare me off with her words,but I wasn't fazed to the least and just smiled at her darkly.

My advise made scar sneer for a moment as we continued walking through a wide empty alley way,we were taking a short cut towards the association scar had gone through this passage multiple times and assured me that it was the fastest route,but while walking through I felt something incredibly wrong stinging on the back of my head.

The alley way it was sort of dead...deserted even,the reason I am so sensitive about the issue is because any other alley way I saw had at least 3 or 4 people in it standing and looking as if they were about to pounce on something there never was a single alleyway where I couldn't see anyone,but this...it was weird.

I looked up,increasing my hearing sense I could pick up massive amounts of footsteps above our heads coming from the roofs of the building hidden away.

A voice came booming at us from behind,I already heard him approach a few seconds ago and turned around showing a blank look on my face.

On the other hand scar was startled she quickly reached for her waist,but discovered that she didn't have her weapons anymore since I stripped them from her because of this she glared at me angrily gnashing her teeth almost demanding her weapons back with her eyes,which I was not going to do until we finish our deal.

Looking forward I could see a familiar face approach us...it was the blonde haired guy with muddy green eyes that I met inside the tavern bar what was his name again...zulian was it ?

Scar also immediately recognized this person it hadn't been long since she had hired him to cause trouble for me which ended up in a failure.

-What do you want zulian its over your services are no longer needed...

Scar growled she didn't seem to like this person all to much.

-Hey hey I am true to my word missy and I am not gonna fail like I did last time I admit I had a little too much to drink,but this time its going to be different...hehehehe

Zulian laughed madly raising his hand and snapping his finger loudly as he did dozens of people started revealing themselves above the roofs scar raised her head and looked astonished by the sheer number of people there were,holding all kind of weapons that ranged from sling shots,daggers and bows aiming all of it towards us with a malicious look in their eyes.

I looked up into the sky feeling a bad premonition rise inside my stomach,the sky was changing dramatically from the light blue color a grey fog was building up rising a faint shadow over us which no,one seemed to have noticed just yet...something was wrong very wrong.

-What are you doing ! Zulian I hired you why are you aiming at me !

Scar shouted angrily towards zulian who simply snorted at her laughing cruelly at the situation.

-Haahh ? What your unsatisfied employee ? You should have thought about that before you hired me to do your dirty work assassin ! Yes,I know who you are did you think that I wasn't going to look at my emplyees before I do the job ? I know that you work for almon and that he had send you to steal something from someone and that someone is most probably that guy right ? So what do you think I am going to do now ? Its simple I kill you and your friend and then take everything you have and give it to almon I am sure that he won't miss a stupid assassin like you hey maybe he will let me join him ? Anyways just shut up and die already !

Zulian said cruelly his eyes completely crazed as he gave the command to mow us down.Frightened scar tried to run away from the onslaught of projectiles that were about to hit us,seeing her about to run away I quickly reached my hand forward and grabbed her collar stopping her on her tracks almost making her trip.

-Whaa...what are you doing let go ! I am not going to die here !

She shouted anger and despair rising in her eyes as she glared at me trying to break free of my tight grip with no success.

I was continuing to look up at the sky the grey clouds were now concentrated the energy that was building from them was enormous,I had only ever seen one person who had this much energy to his disposition....Chronos.

-Stay if you want to live..

I spoke coldly scar was immediately frightened by words and only now realized that there was giant grey cloud above us,the others were also starting to get aware of that cloud and looked up confused.

-Hey you dumbasses what the hell are you doing shot ! kill them already why are you staring at a goddamn cloud you idiots...

Zulian shouted not even realizing how odd the cloud looked after all...

It was only at this place where the cloud had gathered.

(Whump)

A loud thunder could be heard coming from the cloud hearing the loud thunder I quickly pulled scar over to me and embraced her tight the sudden action made scar surprised,but she didn't refused and instead stayed like this shivering with fear.

(Whump)

I jumped carrying scar in my arms I charged forward dodging the thunder bolt the place were me and scar stood originally was now a deep and charred crater with flames surrounding it from the aftermath that came from the thunder.

The people standing the roofs were startled and a bit more the frightened looking at where the thunder had struck some even tumbling down on their butts because of the loud sound as they stared up into the sky again.

I could feel a incredible amount of energy gather once again the sensation was dangerous we needed to escape...

I decided and quickly tried to stop time,but just as I was trying to do something weird happened...

-It...it didn't work...I can't stop time..

I muttered shocked quickly trying again,but with no avail.

What was going on ? Why can't I stop time anymore ? I wondered putting my hand into my pocket and breaking a coin and then rewinding it.

I could feel my powers stream and recover the whole coin into its original state meaning that my powers weren't gone only my ability to stop time was disabled.

-Dawn ? What is going on ?

Scar asked very frightened while staring at me hopeful.

I looked at her,I wasn't sure what to answer her,hell I don't even understand it myself,but I do know one thing..

Looking up into the sky I raised my sight for a bit the cloud was thick and strong the energy was collective,but looking closer I discovered that the cloud was only the center some of the energy was forming a giant sphere...

-We are trapped..

I mumbled to myself now really starting to get worried the thundering wasn't stopping and the energy was still loading itself about to do something that would most likely be horrible.

And without a doubt it did after the next second a brilliant light shone from the gray cloud as it electrified further and after that a booming sound came which was able to make your drums exploded followed by thousands of lightning spears falling down on us.
