CHAPTER THREE

President of the war college

“Ok now that you peaple finished the first quarter at the war college there is going to be some changes. For one there are going to be some classes that will be taking you off campus. Some other changes are going to be more college like then war college. You are going to be getting your own houses that you are going to have to take care of till you leave. That means setting it up how you like and getting a staff for your house.”

“It has been discussed with your parents that these people that you will be getting to take care of your house here will be going back with you when you go home. So before you go and find some people to take care of your house make sure you are going to want to keep them.”

“They are slaves or employees so you can get rid of them if you want. But the point is that you should be looking to acquire long term help.”

“Also since you are going to start staying in your own house you are responsible to get to your classes on time. Also there are a few more classes that are mandatory then you get to pick which classes you would like to attend.”

“You are going to find on your tablets which house you have been assigned to. Don’t bother complaining your parents picked them out for you. So you are going to leave now go check out your house and find out what it needs. Then you are going to come back here to your suites.”

“The next few mandatory classes will be about helping you set up your house. Then when those classes are done you will move into your house for the rest of your stay at the college. Now all of you get going,” said the war college president.

WOLF

“Jacob I don’t think we have to see what the house needs. Because it needs a lot and I have no idea what it needs to start. But let’s head over there and investigate the house.”

By this time Jacob was alread connected to my mental network. The mental network was usually gotten from a crystal. But I don’t know where I got it from just that it is part of my DNA. The mental network helps run big associations. So I’m not really sure how I got it considering it is very rare. But I think it could go with everything else that is weird about me. Like memorizing pages of a book then reading from my mind to understand the book.

The only person who knew how weird I was, was Jacob. So when I said let’s head over to the alien castle to see if we could fix it up he didn’t even blink. He just said let’s head over.

When we got to the mansion nothing looked different. But I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something different. We were walking through the basement when we went into a lab.

“Jacob I have this feeling like I should lay on the bed.” I got onto the bed and I fell asleep when I woke up only a second passed. I sat up on the bed then I heard a voice in my head.

“Hello my lord” I heard in my head.

I shook my head to clear it but I heard it again. “Hello my lord.”

So I decided to answer the voice inside my head. “Why do you call me my lord, I thought.”

“I call you my lord because that is what you are” said the voice.

“How can you tell that I’m your lord” I asked.

“Because my sensors can tell that you have royal DNA. But I can’t tell how close to the royal family you are. To do that I would need to fix my sensors. Oh now is a good time to ask are you taking control of this property” asked the voice in my head.

“I would like to live here while I go to college is that a problem” I asked.

“It’s not a problem if you are taking control of this property. So again I ask are you taking control of this property.”

“Yes I’m taking control of this property. I have a question why is it that I can hear you in my head” I asked.

“You can hear me because we have a temporary connection. It won’t last long and I can’t make a permanent connection until some of the systems are brought on line. To do that stuff have to be fixed cleaned and repaired. I sent a list to your tablet it will have the order in which the stuff should be fixed. Then when you finish we will be able to establish a permanent connection should you want to.”

“Now it’s time for you to leave your friend is getting nervous and I can’t hold the connection any longer. So I will see you again some time, have a good day.”

When I spaced in again I saw Jacob looking nervous. So I told him to relax everything was going to be fine.

“Jacob let’s head back to the college campus and I will fill you in on what happened while we get there.” So while we were returning to the college I filled Jacob in on what happened.

COLLEGE AUDITORIUM

“Ok peaple I’m sure you have list that has all the things you think you need for your house. Now let’s see what you have on your list compared to the one I have in my hand.”

There was a discussion about what peaple had on the list and what people didn’t have on the list. It went back and forth for a little while till the president spoke again.

“Ok so you all have lists of what you think you need. But what was the difference in my list compared to what you have” asked the president.

One kid answered that the president’s list was much more detailed then everyone else’s.

“That’s correct” said the president. “Now let me tell you where I got that list. I got the list from the head maid in my house. So to take care of your houses you are going to have to find a maid. Which leads to the question of who do you get for a maid. The answer is dependent on your situation.”

“If you are only one person by your self you would want a maid that you trust. One that won’t run away or stab you in the back. But if you have more people then you could get someone who isn’t trust worthy and break them. Or have other peaple watch the maid. But it still comes back to trust do you trust the watchers. We will discuss trust at a later time.”

“So now you have to find at least six peaple to take care of your house.but don’t get to many or they will be tripping all over them self’s with not enough work to do. You should get one person in charge then however many more you want again we are recommending six peaple one person in charge and five people following orders. You guys have a week to find the peaple you need. You could buy slaves or not but remember it’s your house they are working on. Now everyone get going you don’t have much time” said the president of the war college.

“What do you have in mind for getting people to work in the castle?” asked Jacob.

“I think we should go see Kalnas and look through some of his files” I answered.

“If I’m not mistaken you are looking for butlers, maids and any other people you think you need to take care of the castle. So why are we going to ask Kalnas for a peak into his files” asked Jacob.

“First of all the castle needs work. So the first thing I would look for is a person who knows how to get the job done. That would be for my head of the staff. Now for workers I would take three engineers to help us fix up the house. That leaves two other people to help clean up the house and maintain it for the meantime.”

“Then over time I will get more staff for the house. Or if I find some one I like now I will go over what was asked of us to get. As you well know my castle is much bigger then all the other students mansion’s.”

We went over to Kalnas’s office and his secretary told us he was busy but if we waited a few minutes he would be able to see us so we waited a few minutes for Kalnas to get finished with what ever he was doing. When his secretary said we could go in Jacob walked in first.

“Jacob Wolf it’s been a long time since I’ve seen you come in sit down. Could I get you something to drink” asked Kalnas.

“No we are fine, but I was wondering if I could look through your personnel files.”

“If I may ask why do you want access to those files” asked Kalnas.

“Because we are at the point that the war college moves us into our own house. So we have to staff it and I need three engineers.”

“Why do you need engineers” asked Kalnas.

“I need engineers because you said I should take the old alien castle.”

“Why would the college give that to you no one has lived there since before I set up the mercenary company here. I will get you a regular house like everyone else” said Kalnas.

“I guess you forgot about telling me that that was the only place available. But besides I kind of like the place. So if you don’t mind I think I will keep it. But getting back to why we came can I look through your personnel files.”

“Yes I will tell my assistant and he will take you to a terminal and you could look through the files.”

Kalnas

Once Jacob and Wolf left his office Kalnas thought about Wolf. He never checked in with the president of the war college and it bothered him. So he decided to speak to the president now.

“Computer call the president of the war college please.”

“Affirmative.”

“Kalnas what can I do for you?'' asked the president of the war college.

“I was wondering about the student I sent you at the beginning of this term. I forgot about until he came to see me about something. So tell me how is Wolf doing at the war college” asked Kalnas.

“He is doing very well he gets better every day. The martial arts instructor says he is very good at the exercises that they are doing. He also told me he has never seen someone who has as much potential in martial arts as Wolf does. He also said that if he keeps up his learning and practicing he will be one of the best practitioners in the universe. His academic scores are very high all of his instructors think he will get very far. He listens quietly to everything the instructors say then askes questions for he has any. The instructors say he askes good questions that show he is listening to what is being taught.”

“The only problem some of them have is he is very quiet. But then again who’s to say that, that’s a bad thing. But over all I think everyone likes him and are waiting to see which of the optional classes he decides to take.”

“Also we want to see what he does with the alien castle. There are some bets that he will move out after a little while because it needs so much work” said the president.

“Thanks for the report and I can tell you that he plans on staying at the castle. He just came to me to look through some files to find some engineers to help him fix up the place. So I hope you bet with him staying” said Kalnas.

Wolf

Wolf and Jacob spent a little time going through the files until Wolf found what he was looking for. Then they went back to Kalnas’s office to discuss it with him.

“If I may ask why did you choose these three. They don’t look like they would fit what you are looking for. They look like average ship engineers with behavioral problems” said Kalnas.

“I think they will work for me and you were any way getting ready to get rid of them. So it benefits you because you get rid of them with out there being any problems. So call them to your office and we will see if they will fit for the things I need. Then if they don’t fit you could just get rid them because they are already here.”

So Kalnas made arrangements for the engineers to be in his office the day after next.”

Meanwhile we went back to our suite at the college and went to bed because tomorrow we were going off the moon. We were going to go find some maids for the mansion.

So I took a shower read a little then went to bed. I woke up got dressed then went to breakfast with Jacob. After breakfast Jacob and I headed to his hovercraft and plotted a course to the planet Octor. Once on Octor we started walking around a little then we headed to the slave market.

At the slave market we sat down and watched peaple buy and sell slaves. We were sitting around until I saw something that looked like they might be what I wanted. So we went down to the floor and watched the bidding. The price was one million lycanthrope credits.

It was getting boring for me so I said five million credits for the both of them. The guy selling them was only to happy. I gave him the credits he gave me the slaves then we headed back to where I was sitting.

Once we sat down I connected both of the girls to my mental network. My mental network put one as head chef and the other head maid. I looked them in the eye and the were at peace. The mental network also gave there names so I looked over to Marie.

“Marie I need two more maids tell me when you find some one for the job.” We sat there for a little longer until she pointed out to me two girls. That she said would be good as maids in thecastle. So I went down and bought two more slaves then we headed back to the moon Octor Three.

On the way to Octor Three I connected the two new girls to my mental network. Because my mental network connected to all who worked for me they all knew who did what and what position they held.

“I don’t know how big the castle is I think it’s five floors. But there is a basement or two and the rest of the compound. But I want you to focus on getting the servants quarters set up first. Then the master bedroom and a bedroom for Jacob. So is there anything I missed Marie.”

“I think we are going to need a much bigger staff to maintain the property. But if I understood you right we should focus on the places that you were going to use first. When we finished the stuff that you would use now we should move on to cleaning stuff that would just keep the place looking nice and clean said Marie.”

“Perfect I’m sure I’m going to need a bigger staff but for now you are what I’ve got. But don’t worry in the future I will get more staff to maintain my home. Now I’m going to put some credits on your wrist bands. So you could buy what you need.”

We stoped in front of the mansion and let out the girls. Then we went back to our college suite for some sleep. The next morning we headed to Kalnas’s office to interview the engineers.

KALNAS’S OFFICE

“The engineers are going to be here in a few minutes you could use a conference room down the hall” said Kalnas.

“Thanks for the conference room but I came a few minutes early to hangout with you” Kalnas.

“Oh and why do you want to hangout with me” asked Kalnas.

“Well I didn’t see you in the last two and a half years. So I thought spending a few minutes with you might be good. Also I wanted to ask about a way to make some money so I could buy some crystals.”

“You didn’t get any at the college” asked Kalnas.

“No I thought I would need some money to buy them. I saw how expensive they can be and you can’t pay for everything. You already did enough by taking me in and sending me to the war college.”

“I thought you were getting the crystals you needed but I will find out what’s going on. It’s time to meet your engineers” said Kalnas.

Wolf got up and went down the hall to the conference room.

After Wolf left Kalnas spoke to the president of the war college about Wolf not getting crystals. The president told Kalnas he would call him back in a few minutes after he finds out what happened to Wolf’s crystals.

“Kalnas I spoke to the head instructor and he told me he would give Wolf crystals. But they would do him more harm then good because he wouldn’t learn the skill naturally” said the president.

“We give the crystals out because they help more then not having the skills” said Kalnas.

“That’s what I told the instructor, but he told me Wolf picks up everything he needs without the crystals. So he didn’t see a reason to put a bump in the road especially because Wolf is at the front of his class said.” the president.

“Ok that makes sense but save all the crystals that you would give him. So like that if he has the skill before he channels the skill it will work better when he does channel the skill” said Kalnas.

“The instructor said he was already saving all the crystals he thought would be good for Wolf to have. He also told me now that the students could pick their classes he was wondering which classes Wolf would take” said the president.

“That’s good talking about the classes Wolf is going to take. I think he will take as many classes as he can stuff into the next seven and a half years. But I think it will be interesting to see in what order he goes about taking the classes” said Kalnas.

“Now that I think about you are right it will start getting very interesting” said the president.

“Ok we are going to do the interviews the way I want them if you don’t like that you can leave.” Wolf waited a minute for anybody to leave. “Good nobody’s leaving so let’s get started with what I want from you guys. I’m going to the war college and as you know they give out houses. Because all the houses were given out all ready I got the alien castle. The castle needs work done and you three are the best engineers. So do you want the job or not.”

“I can’t speak for my colleagues but I definitely want the job. But I see one problem and that is I don’t understand alien technology” said one of the engineers.

“That’s not important at the moment what is important is if you except the job. Then I will explain how we will be fixing the castle.So do you guys want the job or not I” asked them.

All three of them said yes they want the job.

“Ok so I will connect you to my mental network. Then you will know what you are going to do for me.”

I connected them to my mental network then we left and headed to the castle.
