CHAPTER NINE

Wolf’s spaceship

It would take us a month to get to Vikra so we kind of spent our time relaxing. I found martial arts very relaxing so I did that for hours each day. As we neared Vikra I wanted to know what Jacob thought I would learn at this school. So I decided I would ask him when we sat down to eat later that day.

Once I finished eating dinner I asked Jacob what was the point of the intelligence and assassin school he was sending me to.

There are a number of reasons for you to go to the school. You know some times you act so mature that I forget how old you are. Then there are times like now that you act like a sixteen year old. You now you have to grow up all the way you can’t be mature sometimes and then act like a petulant teenager. You are going to be special some day it would be good for you if you grew up already and stopped reverting to a teenager. Said Jacob.

Ok I’m sorry it just feels like you are getting rid of me and I’m going to miss you. Also you are the last person part of my mental network and it just feels wrong not having you around. I’ll try to behave better but it’s very hard knowing you won’t be there to talk to.

That’s fine but you really have to start relying on your self more that’s one of the reasons that you are going to this school. Said Jacob.

I asked before what the reasons were for sending me to this school do you mind telling me what they are now,

Sure I will tell you a few of the reasons that I think it’s a good idea that you go to the school. Let’s start with the first one and this one is the most important one at the moment. Now the first reason is you have to grow up. Now before you go and jump down my throat let me explain what I mean. Even though you may have thought you were acting like an adult or a mature person when you were dealing with Goron or Baku you weren’t.

You never treated them right you always treated them like you were better. You weren’t doing it on purpose but it came though and the only reason they didn’t say anything to you is because they wanted your money more. Also you may think you did good at the war college you could have done better. The way to that would have been to review the books you learnt as an adult would have done.

Even though Jacob didn’t know that I memorized the books that were used in class and many others he was still right. Even if I remembered them if I would have reviewed them I would have known them better and I would have a much better grasp then I had at the moment.

That was one reason there are more so let’s move down the list until I decide to stop giving you reasons. Then there is the reason I told you before of the government coming after me. You should understand that if you were with me they might kill you also. Which does bring up the point of why the government thinks that I was Kalnas’s second in command but that’s for looking into later. Also I don’t want them thinking me and you are connected so we are going to have to have a clean break. Which means don’t take anything that could be traced back to Kalnas and the clothes you where when I drop you off you should burn right away.

Now I think I gave you some good reasons that we should separate. Now let me give you some reasons that I chose this school to send you to. Number and I think is very important you need to get a killer instinct. Now let me tell you what I mean by that before you try to understand it and mess up what I’m trying to say. You learnt about business at the war college and you think it’s nice and pretty it’s not it a dirty and filthy place. It’s full of criminals cheats assassins and any other bad person you could think about. Now to be able to deal with them you have to be feared because these peaple will eat you otherwise. To deal with it you have to be able to stand up to them and take them out if you have to.

Now before you get the wrong about what I’m trying to tell you let me continue. As you grow you will be faced with hard decisions and you will have no good options and you will have to pick one. Also in your future you might have to kill some one to save your life. Not everyone will be as easy to manipulate as Karnas was. Don’t try to deny it I know it and I’m pretty sure Kalnas knew it.

At the end it boils down to you will be safe here and I won’t have to worry about your safety. So go to the school and learn as much as possible and you might even find that you enjoy what you are learning. Maybe you will be able to apply what you learn there to other parts of your life. Ok so let’s stop talking about it and enjoy the time we have left. Said Jacob.

Ok I won’t talk about it anymore but I really will miss you. Now let’s go enjoy the rest of the week before you leave. So it was we spent the rest of the week enjoying our time spent together. When it was time to leave Jacob I knew I really would miss him.

A week later we arrived at the planet Vikra it looked like it was a nice and busy planet a good place to hide. I thought Jacob would take me where I was supposed to be. But no he said he would drop me off and the school would pick me up when they wanted to. So after the hovercraft landed at a college parking lot where we were told to go I said good buy and walked out with the clothes on my back. I watched as Jacob flew back to the ship with the hovercraft and hoped he enjoyed where he was going.

Now the instructions that Jacob gave me were that I would be found. So I decided to go check out what this area of the planet had to offer. There was one thing I noticed right away and that was this place was one big university. It was like a miniature city with everything that came with a city. After walking around for a while I was hungry but I didn’t have any money so I went to the meditation garden I saw before and sat down to meditate. The reason I was doing this was so I shouldn’t focus on how hungry I was and also it would help pass the time. I sat down and started slowing my breathing and clearing my mind until I fell into the zone. Unbeknownst to me I was being watched and my watchers found me interesting.

Pakas

Pakas got a call from Jacob asking if he would take a student. Pakas didn’t have a student at the moment so he thought it would be a good way to get a favor that might be useful later on. So he gave Jacob the instructions then when Jacob dropped the kid off he watched the kid. Right away Pakas could see he moved without a care in the world and he wasn’t careful about being followed. That would have to be worked on or this kid would have a very short career as a assassin. Pakas was following the kid for a while and he thought the kid should be getting hungry. So he was surprised to see him go back to the meditation garden. He watched the kid start meditating and thought maybe he could see how strong and persistence the kid was. Because it took a lot of both to meditate for more then a few minutes.

The kid had been meditating for ten minutes already and it didn’t look like it would stop. So Pakas watched until it got to a hour then decided to give his second test because he failed the first. The first test was that he didn’t notice he was being followed. So he walked over to the kid and sat down next to him and waited to see what would happen. When nothing happened he struck the kid in the ribs it wasn’t supposed to damage it was supposed to hurt. Just like that the kid failed the second test but there was still this feeling he had and that was this kid would be his best student. So when the kid asked Pakas why he hit him in the ribs Pakas answered him.

To teach you the first lesson of the many lessons that I will teach you. The first lesson is always be aware of your surroundings never let your guard down. Well except for special occasions which we will discuss at a later time. Now come on it is time to go so I can start your training. Just like that Wolf met the person who would make one of the biggest impacts on his life.

Wolf

While I was meditating all of the sudden I felt a stab to my ribs and I lost my control. When I looked up I saw some guy and when I asked him why he did it he told me to always be aware of surrounding and just like that I met Jacob’s friend. He told me to follow him so I did and we walked into a building nearby that looked like a official university building. That was confirmed when we walked into a office that said president and the guy I was following said to cancel the rest of his day then we walked into his inner office.

The guy I was following motioned for me to sit down in one of the chairs opposite him. Then before he could say anything I asked him his name since I still didn’t know it.

My name is Pakas. You can call me president and in private master. Now let me tell you how this is going to work you are going to become my assistant and do as I tell you to do. Slowly I will teach you what Jacob wants you to learn. Now come on let me show you where I live so we can get started. So we went outside and went to Pakas’s hovercraft and he flew us to his house. House isn’t the right word when it looked like a mansion.

We went inside and headed to Pakas’s office and we sat down and that was when the speech started.

Let me tell you what you are going to do while you’re here. You are going to do as I tell you when I tell you. Now let me tell you what type of place you are in. This is a regular university I just happen to be the president. In my previous line of work I was a intelligence agent and part time assassin and I will be teaching you about that. That means I will teach you all the basics you need to know. Then I will move on to the tips that I’ve learnt from actually doing it.

Now I usually have an assistant that goes to the university and usually takes one class so pick one. I would recommendation science biology,chemistry, or engineering because they seem important but once you start talking everyone ignores you. We will discuss what’s good about that later.

For the next week you will follow me around and learn everything you can about how the university works. Then we will discuss it at the end of the week. Now let me show you your room because it’s getting late.

That was how my first week went I followed Pakas around and I tried to learn everything that I could about how the university worked. I’m pretty sure I missed stuff but it looked like Pakas had his days full of meetings. The meetings could be about fundraising to new curriculum to anything in between.

After the first week was up we sat down for dinner and after dinner is when the grilling started.

Ok so tell me what you learnt about how the university works? Asked Pakas

Only that it’s very complicated and that you run it.

Ok now this is why you are here for me to give you some advice. Now let’s talk about your mistakes. The first one is that you followed me around and didn’t look elsewhere. Basically you were to focused on me that you didn’t see what was going on around you.

Now let’s talk about you focusing on me and after we discuss it you will see what your mistake was. You were so focused on what I did that you didn’t see that there are a lot of other peaple that work here also. I might be at the top of the hierarchy but there are still other peaple in the hierarchy. Now you have to watch it all to succeed. So we are going to try this again but this time you have classes as classes start on Monday. So get ready and watch everything and we will discuss it at dinner on Saturday.

So that is what I did I tried to watch what happened and when and for what reason all while starting classes. I decided to take engineering as the class I would take. So I had to take a whole bunch of math classes also. Some physics and a few other classes as well but it didn’t look like it would be all that bad. It looked like it would be interesting and I tried to keep a low profile while in class.

Before I knew it the week was over and we were sitting down to Saturday dinner. Just like last week when dinner was over Pakas asked me what I learnt about how the university works. This time I actually had what to tell him and I told everything I could remember and thought would be relevant. Once I finished talking that is when he started explaining what this was all about.

Ok you did a great job. Now let’s discuss what the point of this exercise was. The point of it was to show you that everyone does something and it’s important to know what that something is. Because with knowing what they do you could make plans about how you would accomplish something.

Now let me tell you why it’s important to know everything about the person you are going after. If it’s an assassination you want to be able to get in and out unseen and be able to blame it on some one else if you want to. If it’s for intelligence you have to know who has access to what you want.

In both cases it’s important to know the players. Now let me give you a tip and that is when watching something or someone you have to watch it all to understand what’s going on. Then after watching it all you could start looking at particular things because now you have a better chance of not getting caught.

Now let’s talk about the next thing I want you to think about. That’s how to blend into any environment. You are going to start learning this now and from time to time I will send you for a specialized class. Your training starts now I will teach you different stuff and you will learn it like that you don’t get killed. Now get to bed because you better be up early in the morning for training to start.

So I got up from the table and went to my room and took a shower and went to bed. I woke up early Sunday morning and had a light breakfast with Pakas. Then I followed him to the basement. The basement looked like a training room I thought we were going to start training right away I was wrong. No it had to start with a speech.

You are going to start training in a lot of different stuff and you are going to start going to classes like I said. But now we are going to see how you are at martial arts. I will train you a little then I will get someone else if it’s needed. Now let’s get started said Pakas.

So we both moved forward and so started the dance of martial arts. We were going at it for an hour until Pakas won.

Ok let’s go eat some breakfast and we will discuss this at the table. Said Pakas.

So I left went to my room got undressed took a shower. After the shower Igor dressed and headed to the dining room to eat breakfast. After breakfast Pakas started talking about how the martial arts training went.

Ok I think I’m going to have to find someone to take over for me in your martial arts training. You did very well but you just don’t know enough. You could also move quicker with the right training. So let’s stop sparring but you should continue to practice. Now let’s head over to the university. Said Pakas.
