Chapter 551

The person explained with genuine concern, "She just went to the restroom, and who knows what happened, but she came running back looking panicked. Then she just lost it, went completely off the rails."

"The restroom?" Nathalie glanced down the dimly lit hallway, a mix of curiosity and trepidation swirling within her.noveldrama

"What's in the restroom?" she muttered under her breath.

Someone nearby chimed in, "Mr. Dawson had someone check it out earlier, and there was nothing there. Mrs. Dawson has been struggling with her mental health for a while, so it might not have been triggered by anything external. Maybe she just couldn't handle the grief anymore and broke down."

Cameron overheard Nathalie and the bystanders talking. He turned abruptly, his eyes like those of a predator, sharp and intense, as if ready to pounce on Nathalie.

"Why are you giving me that look? This has nothing to do with me," Nathalie shot back, defending herself instinctively.

Right after she said it, she realized how ridiculous it sounded. It was like she'd been falsely accused by Cameron so many times in a past life that she'd developed a knee-jerk reaction.

Cameron fixed her with a fierce glare, "I know it's not about you. But can you be sure it has nothing to do with the people around you?"

Annoyed, Nathalie retorted, "Don't play games with me. If you think someone is to blame, I'll stand up for them. But what if you're wrong?"

Cameron stared at Nathalie, confused by her unwavering trust in Nathan and his crew.

"If I told you it was Nathan, would you believe me?"

Nathalie bristled, "Nathan's been with me the whole time; he didn't have a chance to do anything. Why

accuse him? Oh, I see, you're just bitter because he outsmarted you in business, and now you're trying to smear his name?"

She looked at Cameron with disdain, "Too bad for you, Nathan's always been kind and gentle. If you hadn't bullied him so much, he wouldn't have had to push back."

Cameron shook his head, exasperated by Nathalie's stubborn loyalty. "It doesn't matter if you don't believe me now, but one day, your blind confidence is going to cost you."

His words were so forceful, they left her feeling uneasy.

In the end, Cameron practically dragged Greta away.

With the drama over, the onlookers dispersed.

Only Miranda remained, sitting alone by the coffin, looking utterly defeated.

Nathalie watched her for a while before finally saying, "Take care of yourself." She turned to leave.

But Miranda suddenly called out, her voice

ged with desperation, "Nathalie, can you stay? I need to

talk to you." Content beedel.ne

Nathalie paused, turned back, and slowly walked over to her.

"In your eyes, whatever I do is never enough. So, why do you want me here?" Nathalie guessed Miranda was asking for help with Patrick's funeral arrangements.

Given Miranda's tough-as-nails attitude, dealing with Patrick's final affairs was beyond her. With Greta having lost her grip on reality, Miranda had no one else to turn to but Nathalie. As expected, Miranda got straight to the point, "Help me give him a proper send-off."

Nathalie couldn't help but let out a bittersweet laugh, "Why should I help you? You never appreciated

anything I did for you in the past."

Miranda replied, "Help me with this last thing, and I'll... tell you who your real father is.

Nathalie was taken aback.

If she'd heard this before, it would've been a tempting offer.

But now, after being hurt by those she loved, she wasn't yearning for family connections anymore.

"I don't want to know."

"What if I told you your father doesn't even know you exist?"

Nathalie was stunned again.

If she'd been abandoned by her father, she wouldn't have been surprised.

But if her father didn't even know about her?

Would he welcome her with open arms if he found out he had a daughter?
