Chapter 541

Chapter 541:

“Scarlet Snake, you should know what happens when you cross me,” Amor shot back, her smile frigid as she dismissed the murmurs around her. “A loss is a loss. I admit defeat and will send you the money. But if you continue to hurl baseless accusations at me, be prepared for the fallout.”

Amor was merely stalling for time, hoping her crew could switch out the cards while she planned her escape.

“My hand is hurt; I need to bandage it,” she said, feigning urgency.

But after she took just two steps, several burly men emerged from the crowd, blocking her way.

“Miss Prescott, Kylo has ordered that no one is to leave until the cards are thoroughly examined,” one of the men stated. Amor glanced around, her heart sinking as she saw the casino doors sealed shut.

She turned to her bodyguards, her expression flat. “Are you all blind? Move!”

In an instant, the men in black drew their weapons, a chilling resolve in their eyes.noveldrama

Amor cursed under her breath, realizing she was out of options. She never acted without certainty.

“Mr. Vargas, I just need to bandage my wound. Your people are being quite rude. If they don’t step aside, my men’s guns won’t show mercy,” she warned, trying to maintain her composure.

But Kylo merely smiled, the coldness of his expression sending a chill down her spine. “Amor, you’re clever, but you shouldn’t have come here.”

Before she could fully grasp his words, dread washed over her, an ominous sensation creeping up her spine.

In horror, she watched as her own bodyguards turned their guns toward her, betrayal cutting deeper than any blade.

Amor’s face, which had been a mask of composure, suddenly hardened.

She locked eyes with Kylo, disbelief flashing across her features. “When did you manage to turn my people against me?” she asked, her voice taut with shock.

Kylo’s expression remained indifferent. “That’s irrelevant. What matters now is that you take responsibility for your gamble.”

As Kylo finished speaking, more figures stepped out from the dimly lit corners.

Amor’s gaze swept over the room, landing on her subordinates who had been indulging in the casino’s entertainment. Now, they were under tight control, their carefree expressions replaced with confusion and fear.

“Kylo, what is the meaning of this?” Amor’s voice wavered, the authority she once commanded slipping away. “I’ve been loyal to Muisvedo for years. You can’t seriously trust her over me.” Her previous arrogance had melted away, replaced by a careful, measured tone.

Sensing the shift in power, Fay stepped forward, her voice quivering but determined. “Yes, Scarlet Snake must be lying! We oversaw the dealing of these cards, how could anything be amiss? It must—”

Before Fay could finish, a loud slap echoed through the room.

Fay fell to the floor, stunned, as blood trickled from the corner of her mouth.
