Chapter 6 Water Cut Off

Chapter 6 Water Cut Off

After realizing all of this, Harry unexpectedly found himself much calmer than he had imagined.

Looking at the bloated and ugly female corpse lying on the ground in front of him, he felt as if he had gained some insight.

This world had become completely different, not only could a flood engulf an entire city, but there could also be corpse mutations, even this mysterious "spiritual source".

"Everything has changed, is this still the world I was in before? Now everything that's happening in front of me cannot be explained by common sense."

"I don't know if the corpse mutation of this female corpse was just a random example or if all corpses will experience this kind of mutation. If all of these corpses will mutate, then this city will become very dangerous. I don't know how many people were drowned in this flood, and this city...but it is home to millions of people..."

Harry shuddered at the thought of this number, feeling a sense of horror.

He didn't know how many people had escaped from this city of millions, and how many had been drowned and turned into corpses.

"This place seems very unsafe, I must find a rescue team soon." Harry carried his hammer and kitchen knife and glanced at the female corpse lying on the ground again, feeling lucky that although the female corpse had great strength, her movements were somewhat stiff. Otherwise, the consequences would be unimaginable.

Harry realized that the situation was far more terrifying than he had imagined. He quickly returned to his home, closed and locked the anti-theft door, and went into the bathroom with his kitchen knife and hammer to look at the wound on his forehead in the mirror.

He found that the wound was slightly red and swollen, but fortunately, it was only a small cut and not serious. The wound had a slightly cool feeling, and in a short time, the cut had already closed up, and the speed of recovery was somewhat astonishing.

Harry took a towel and carefully wiped off the blood that had almost congealed on his face. He then cleaned the kitchen knife and hammer, but found that the water from the faucet was getting smaller and smaller until it was just dripping.

"Water cut off." Harry sighed, not surprised. Fortunately, he had boiled a lot of water in advance, filled several bottles, and filled two large and small basins with water, so he didn't have to worry about running out of water for the time being.

As for the water outside, which was all water, Harry didn't dare to use it because he didn't know if it was clean or not, and if it contained parasites and bacteria.

Carrying the clean knife and hammer, Harry walked out of the house with a bundle of clothes.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

On the rooftop, Harry put the clothes on the ground and looked around. With no obstructions to his view, Harry could see the vast expanse of water, which was as wide as an ocean and had no boundaries, as if the whole world had become a world of water.

"How terrible must the flood be to cause such a result?" Harry couldn't help but clench his fists.

He looked out again towards the other building that was closest to him, which had surfaced from the water. It was also a thirty-story tall building, only forty to fifty meters away from him. Harry looked at the thirty floors that had emerged from the water and wondered if there were any survivors there like him.

"In any case, I have to find a way to go and see." Harry thought silently.

Afterwards, he lit the clothes on fire, creating a lot of thick fog.

Looking at the rising fog, Harry thought that if there were survivors in that building, they would definitely be able to see the rising fog and might react.

Unfortunately, he waited for half an hour and didn't observe any signs of life or reaction from the building. He could only give up waiting and return along the stairs.

When he descended to the thirtieth floor, his eyes suddenly caught something that made him stop.

The stairs leading to the twenty-ninth floor had been completely flooded, and the water level was about to reach the ground of the thirtieth floor.

"I remember clearly that when I first came here, the water level was four to five centimeters away from the ground on this floor. Why is it about to reach the ground now? In just a short time, the water level has risen several centimeters, and it's still slowly rising?"

This discovery made Harry's scalp tingle. This meant that the thirtieth floor where he was staying was not safe. The water level could change at any time and even flood the thirtieth floor.

This made him anxious.

"No, I must make a raft as soon as possible. No one knows what changes will happen next."

Feeling the urgency of the situation, Harry couldn't afford to delay. He quickly rushed back along the corridor, ready to start making the raft.

Apart from the door of his own bedroom, he dismantled the other two wooden doors in his home and decided to combine them into a makeshift raft.

He estimated that these two wooden doors should be able to withstand his weight and not sink in water.

He remembered when he was a child in the countryside, someone stood on a wooden door and held a bamboo pole in his hand, and could float on the water. Combining these two doors should work.

Then he lifted the mattress and placed the wooden boards horizontally on top of the two wooden doors, nailed them with iron nails, and thus completed a makeshift raft.

He didn't have any ropes at home, so he found a bed sheet and a duvet cover, cut them into long strips with scissors, and braided them into ropes.

Soon, the day passed. He braided several long ropes and fixed one of them to the raft, leaving the others for later use.

After he finished his work, the sky became dark, and Harry ate two pieces of bread to fill his stomach before walking to the balcony window.

He wanted to make sure that all the windows were closed. Nightfall was approaching, and the female corpse that had moved and attacked during the day made him feel that this place was unsafe.

When he just walked to the balcony, he suddenly saw a floating corpse outside the balcony window in the water.

The corpse was floating face down, and he could only see the back, floating in the water only one or two meters away from his balcony window.

Harry's heart trembled, and his face suddenly became ugly. He clearly remembered that he hadn't found this corpse during the day. So where had this corpse come from?

"Damn it, could this corpse have mutated too?"

Looking at the floating corpse so close to the window, Harry felt uncomfortable no matter how he looked at it. He couldn't help but pick up the clothesline pole, open a window, and reach out with the pole to push the corpse away.
