Chapter 14 Giant Frog

Back in the living room, Harry opened the fridge and found two bottles of mineral water and a bottle of drink, all unopened. He put them in a plastic bag and took them away.

Harry had hoped to find a more effective weapon, but he didn't see anything better than a kitchen knife and a hammer. For now, he would have to make do with those.

Apart from the bottles of water and drink, Harry's biggest discovery was a large plastic storage box, 170 liters in size, filled with clothes. He was delighted to see it and quickly took out all the clothes.

"I was just wondering what to use to carry water, and this thing can hold a lot of it."

Harry was already planning to leave, and besides food, he also needed to consider water. Although there was water all around, no one knew if it was clean enough to drink. Harry decided to boil more water with the kettle while he still had time. Because he lacked insulation, it was not practical to carry a large amount of hot water, but he could take a large amount of cold water, which was at least more hygienic.

The biggest problem now was the lack of bottles to hold a large amount of cold water. Although there were some cups and water bottles in the house, they could hold very little. When he saw the storage box, Harry was naturally overjoyed. The large storage box was enough to hold over a hundred liters of cold water, enough for him to use for many days.

In addition to the storage box and three bottles of water, he took the oil, salt, and rice he had found in the kitchen back to his room.

He was overjoyed at the sight of the half-bag of rice, as it meant he could cook rice. For him, who was short on food, this half a bag of rice was more precious than anything else.

After carefully moving the oil, salt, and rice into his bedroom, Harry continued to boil water with the kettle while cleaning the storage box.

He didn't know if the storage box could withstand the boiling water, so Harry didn't pour it directly in. Instead, he waited until the water wasn't so hot and then poured it into the storage box.

For the next period of time, Harry continued to prepare more hot water while keeping an eye on the outside. He was hoping to encounter a few more mutated monsters so that he could collect ten spiritual sources, but unfortunately, there was no movement around him, and he didn't see any new mutated monsters. The whole world seemed to have quieted down.

Bored, Harry thought of many things, even the idea of climbing onto the roof with a rope, and then using the rope to enter the neighboring house through the window to see if there was any food.

After thinking about it for a while, he still felt it was too dangerous, so Harry gave up on the idea. After all, when he was using the rope to descend, it would be difficult to defend himself. If a mutated monster suddenly attacked him, it would be troublesome.

The day ended with the storage box filled with cold water. Harry tightly covered the lid and carefully moved it into the bedroom, along with all the other important supplies.

The sun had disappeared on the horizon. Harry looked out from the balcony and saw the distance painted red by the sunset, like a burning fire. Harry understood that this was called a fire cloud and it looked so brilliant and dazzling. However, his heart was filled with suppressed emotions when he looked at the distant red sky.

Suddenly, there was a sound of glass shattering in the corridor outside.

This sound startled Harry, and he shuddered, but then he was pleasantly surprised.

After waiting for so long, had the mutated monsters finally appeared?

He had been waiting for them, and now he only needed four more mutated monsters to collect ten spiritual sources.

Harry picked up his knife and hammer, but did not immediately open the anti-theft door. Instead, he stuck his eye to the cat's eye and looked out into the corridor. He wanted to see how many mutated monsters were outside.

As soon as he looked over, he saw a pile of corpses. They were the bodies he had previously moved and piled up on the side of the corridor. At this moment, with the sound of glass shattering along the side of the corridor, a huge monster was slowly crawling in through the window.

Harry couldn't help but take a deep breath and didn't dare to make a sound for a while.

What he saw was not a corpse monster, but an ugly monster he had never seen before. This monster looked like a giant frog, with a triangular head and a wide, flat body. There were many granular warts on its back, and it was nearly two meters long. It was as big as a round table, and its whole body was jade green. In the middle of its head grew a large single eye. It was a creature that only appeared in books or movies, and Harry had never heard of such a terrifying and bizarre creature in reality.

Harry remembered watching on a science channel that the largest frog in the world was the African giant frog, which could grow up to 30 cm long. If its hind legs were stretched out, it would be almost one meter long. But compared with the monster with one eye in front of him, it was nothing. Harry held his breath and watched as the giant frog opened its blood-stained mouth and stretched out a blood-red tongue, curling up one of the corpses' thighs and dragging it out.

Harry saw the frog opened its bloody mouth with dense fine teeth, the blood-red tongue curled around the thigh of the corpse a tug, this mouth a bite this tug over the leg, the upper and lower two rows of fine teeth bite the thigh of the corpse gnawing, flesh was turned up, revealing the face of the white bone.

"That's right." Harry's eyes slightly narrowed, and his hands holding the knife and hammer couldn't help but exert force, the veins on the back of his hands bulging out. Obviously, he was very nervous because he had confirmed that this giant frog with huge eyes was the unknown aquatic creature that had made him uneasy before.

Judging from the appearance of the thigh of the corpse that had just been gnawed, all the previously gnawed corpses were its work.

How dangerous is this giant frog? Can he deal with it now? Should he take the opportunity to kill it when it crawls ashore? Otherwise, if it returns to the water, the danger will be much greater.

Countless thoughts flashed through Harry's mind in an instant, but he didn't have full confidence. He didn't know the strength of this giant frog and didn't have the courage to open the security door.

"Now it's too risky to rush out and fight it. The safest way is for me to get four more spiritual sources and become stronger before thinking of killing it. Since it was able to climb up today, it should be able to lure it up next time."

With this idea, Harry couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief and his tightly clenched hands relaxed a bit. At this moment, the giant frog that was eating the corpse suddenly turned its head, and the huge eyeball in the center of its flat head turned and looked towards the security door. "
