Chapter 27 Fangs of Gluttony

Chapter 27 Fangs of Gluttony

Fortunately, the front paw only scratched his chest, and he kicked it away with his foot.

The Ravenous Hound shrank on the ground, twitched twice, and then slowly stopped moving. A Spiritual Source appeared from its body, like a white lightning bolt, and instantly entered Harry's forehead.

Harry felt a surge of heat in his body. The wounds on his shoulders, legs, and chest immediately began to alleviate, and the wounds shrank. The bleeding also stopped. These three wounds were wrapped in a large amount of heat, and the speed of their healing was visible to the naked eye.

"It's incredible that this Spiritual Source can increase the speed of wound healing by ten or even a hundred times."

Harry looked at the shrinking speed of the wound on his leg. Although he had seen it before, he was still amazed.

A message appeared in his mind.

"Level 2 Spiritweaver: Spiritual Source 2/20"

Feeling the message in his mind, Harry's strength slowly recovered. He sat up from the ground and said, "It seems that killing the elite breed of this Level 2 Spiritual Source beast can obtain two Spiritual Sources at once. I wonder how many Spiritual Sources can be obtained by killing that one-eyed frog now."

Harry slowly stood up and looked at the body of the Ravenous Hound. He suddenly noticed that the claw on its left front paw, which was nearly ten centimeters long and sticking out, began to contract and peel off. He felt a slight movement in his heart.

The claw on the left front paw turned into a white line and suddenly shot towards Harry's left hand. The white line penetrated into the back of Harry's left hand, and at the same time, new information appeared in his mind.

"Acquired special ability: Fangs of Gluttony (left)."

Harry immediately felt that there was something new growing in the back of his left hand, which felt itchy and tingly, as if several new fingers were growing in his left hand.

This feeling was very strange, and he felt a connection with the newly grown thing in the back of his hand, as if it was part of his flesh and blood.

Unable to resist, Harry clenched his left hand into a fist, and four small bumps appeared on the back of his fist. Soon after, white claws broke through the center of each bump and emerged from them.

The white claws, made of the same material as teeth, continued to extend outwards. When Harry felt that they had reached their limit, the four white claws had already extended to about ten centimeters.

He could feel the power contained in these claws, as well as their sharpness.

"So this is Fangs of Gluttony?" Harry took a deep breath and slowly dragged the four white claws across the concrete floor of the corridor.

There was a harsh sound, and four white marks appeared on the concrete floor.

Harry raised his left hand again and looked at the four sharp and pointed white claws that had emerged from the back of his hand. He thought of Wolverine from X-Men.

Afterwards, the four white claws slowly retracted into his hand, and the four small bumps that had protruded from the back of his hand disappeared. His hand returned to its original state.

Although Harry had some lingering fear and was injured, he had gained a lot from killing the Ravenous Hound. He looked up at Olivia, who was slowly standing up. Her small face still showed some fear, indicating that she had not completely recovered from the shock.

"Don't be afraid, it's over now," Harry comforted her. He wanted to ask her if this Ravenous Hound was the killer who had murdered her father, but he decided not to. He didn't want to upset her anymore.

Olivia's face was pale, and then she nodded slightly. She walked to the body of the Ravenous Hound and suddenly kicked its head with her little leather shoe. Although she didn't use much force, it showed her anger towards the Ravenous Hound.

Harry smiled, thinking that this little girl looked fragile but actually had a strong personality. For now, food was not a concern, and since the Ravenous Hound was so unappealing, Harry decided to abandon the corpse. He took Olivia to the first house he had entered and began searching for useful items.

"Remember, we need everything that's edible, drinkable, and useful, like nails, wires, and ropes," Harry explained to Olivia.

Olivia nodded in understanding.

"By the way, when did you first realize that the outside was flooded?" Harry had been curious for a while but had refrained from asking in case it upset Olivia. Now that she seemed more stable, he couldn't resist asking anymore.

Olivia lowered her head slightly and replied, "The day before yesterday."

"The day before yesterday? So you woke up early in the morning and found the city like this?" Harry asked.

Olivia nodded in response.

"After you woke up, was it just you and your dad left? What about your mom and your neighbor?"

This time, Olivia shook her head. When Harry looked puzzled, she added, "Gone."

Harry sighed inwardly. He wasn't sure if Olivia had trouble communicating or if she just didn't want to say much. He realized that he would have to ask questions and make guesses to communicate with her. "You mean your mom and neighbor are both gone?" he asked.

Olivia nodded again.

"Okay," Harry said, not wanting to ask her more about what had happened. It was difficult to communicate with her.

From the scene, Harry guessed that the father and daughter had been attacked by the undead. Olivia had hidden in the closet while her father was killed by the Ravenous Hound.

Seeing Olivia still looking at him, as if waiting for him to ask more questions, Harry smiled and said, "Let's go find some things."

They split up to search for useful items. This time, they had a good harvest. Harry found a bag of rice that was at least thirty pounds, half a bag of flour, and some noodles, which made him very happy.

Olivia found several boxes of nails, a bundle of thin wires, and two bundles of electrical wire.

The house had been recently renovated, and these were probably leftover materials.

"Great," Harry said, his eyes shining with appreciation.

Next, he planned to find a more suitable place to settle down and further reinforce the raft, and these things would come in handy.

Through the window, Harry carefully moved all the items they had collected one by one onto the raft, which was tightly anchored outside the window.

Although the raft was not small, as more and more things piled up on it, it began to sink deeper and deeper. Harry knew that for now, they couldn't add any more items to the raft.
