Retribution

"Thunder Raeiqa!"

A massive flash of lightning struck down at Ataron, who instinctively raised a blue flame barrier around himself.

The bright lightning split around the barrier as it continued for a moment, then stopped, followed by loud thunder, ringing the skies.

Ataron smiled seeing Osei's stunned expression.

Hundreds of blue fire balls manifested around him, then launched at Osei at sonic speed.

Osei dodged them with ease, blurring with electricity within his vicinity, then blocked the remaining barrage with floating orbs of electricity.

The explosions lit up the sky around them, as they stood some distance apart, glaring at each other in midair.

"What's the point of risking your life for this planet anyways? Your hands are stained with the blood of millions. Do you think atonement will bring you closer to God? To defeat us?"

Osei unsheathed his sword.

"I was powerless back then... However now I am free to do whatever I can, to stop you from unleashing another tragedy on this world.

Osei leaped at him, unleashing a flurry of light jabs at Ataron.

Ataron countered each strike, unsheathing his own sword with quicker reflexes, than Osei anticipated.

He caught Osei with a left hook, after blocking his last attack.

The punch covered in blue flames sent Osei crashing to the ground.

He quickly got up dazed, however he had no time to recover himself, only enough to put his arms back up, to block an uppercut from Ataron.

Sending him flying into the sky with blue flames bursting out of his fist.

Then he flew up and caught up right beside him and kicked Osei flying, hundreds of kilometers until he crashed into a hill, forming a crater.

He coughed blood and tried to gain a hold of his surroundings.

He could feel multiple bones broken and his body already reaching it's limit.

If it wasn't for the new and improved armor, he knew he would have been done for.

His instincts immediately told him to raise his guard.

He formed the strongest electric barrier he could muster and called lightning strikes in front of him.

At the same moment, Ataron appeared in front of him grinning, with a blue sphere of fire hovering above his left palm.

"Byza Fire."

The sphere cut in and dispersed Osei's barrier with ease.

Ataron followed up by crushing the ball, setting his hands on fire and punched Osei, deep into his gut.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Flames exploaded around Osei, completely vaporizing the hills behind him in an instant.

Osei coughed, falling down into the rubble and clinging to his stomach.

His transformation fizzed out.

"Don't whimper, I missed your organs on purpose. You should be able to survive that."

He walked over and crouched beside him, smoke still trailing out of Osei's mouth.

"I want to see what Atlas would do to you, once he gets his hands on you."

Osei glared at Ataron, but he couldn't fight his consciousness fading.

Suddenly Ataron stood up.

"There's no way... No... They managed to kill two of my siblings."

His expression turned to anger, as he looked towards the directions of Stresci and Aku.

Rings of fire crushed the ground, sending Osei rolling over.

"Unforgivable! I planned on taking their lifespans myself, in due time."

He turned his attention towards Osei, who was still fighting to stay awake.

He reached for his medicine booster.

"No, you can stay put."

Two cool bars of fire wrapped around Osei, locking his arms and legs.

He was completely trapped.

"I'm going to go kill all of your little friends, have some fun with the humans that live here, then I'll come play with you some more."

Osei growled.

"No you won't! I won't let you!"

Dozens of lightning bolts rapidly fell out of the sky, each being blocked on moments of impact with barriers of fire, several meters above.

Osei struggled to get out of his restraints, but they showed no signs of tear, even with millions of volts running though them.

Suddenly there was a sharp lash of heat, produced by the restraints.

Osei went quiet.

Ataron smirked.

"That's better."

He then looked off into the distance.

"I can sense that a few of your friends are wounded after their battles. They don't seem to be leaving that area anytime soon. Hmm, I may be able to save a trip."

He put his right hand out and flew steadily above Osei, then stopped after about a dozen meters.

A massive sphere of blue fire manifested and super condensed once, after growing larger than him.

Osei looked up, feeling intense heat and a bright light, however his eyes grew wide.

"Stop it!"

Ataron started to laugh.

"Why should I? What are you going to do? Last prince of Rennaya! You and your family failed your people. Just like you did on Haldwyn and exactly what is going to happen now to Earth!"

His eyes grew cold, as he smirked creepily.

"The failed prince... Didn't I tell you this before? The weak don't deserve to speak."

Osei's blood pressure skyrocketed.

A snap faintly went off deep within himself, leaving him in a trance.

A string of electricity raced from his finger, into his belt and pulled out the booster.

Then injected him with it.

Ataron noticed the syringe moving and instantly blasted it away from Osei.

It was too late.

The nanites were at work, repairing as much of the damages he's received so far.

He took a deep breath, then opened his eyes, looking straight at Ataron.

Lightning strikes fell like rain, starting with several, then hundreds, then thousands.

"Aww don't tell me I struck a nerve. Hmm, then what would your expression be like, once I let this go?

The sphere he was building, launched at sonic speed, leaving cloud trails.

Just like lightning, Osei appeared in front of it, his sword returned back to his hand mid-flight, thanks to innovative tech made by Sarah.

Streaks of silver glowed, popping up all over his hair.

He flowed tons of energy into his sword, then cut down, splitting the ball in half as it sailed past him.

Erupting in a parallel explosion, behind him.

He instinctively summoned an electric forcefield to protect him from the blast.

The sky split with a trail of lightning racing towards Ataron.

He put one arm up, as the lightning shattered through his last barrier, singing his arm and leaving a burning cut.

He was ecstatic, swinging his arm back to his side as it repaired itself and unsheathed his sword.

Just in time for Osei's strike, which sent electric shockwaves throughout the land below them.

"Looks like you've still got some fire in your eyes, don't you?"

Osei snarled and broke the contact by pushing Ataron back.

Then he swung as fast he could aiming for Ataron's neck.

Lightning struck down helping him carry the blade forth.

Ataron dodged at the last second, burning large quantities of fire through his feet, to escape back down to the Earth.

He looked behind him.

Several hills and mountains were sliced clean in half, crumbling in smoke and debris.

He turned his attention back to Osei.

Osei, looked down at him preparing himself.

"Trust me, that fire will be the last flames you'll ever see."
