--------------------------------------

As Roland got dressed and Morrigan left, he remembered two things.

One, he didnt speak to anyone who asked for him yet.

And another thing, something very important: How did Reina get past his barriers?

Morrigan, she got past because some deep part of himself, his sub-conscious mind, recognised her on some level and therefore his barriers had no effect on her.

But then what of Reina?

His barriers only encompassed his room, so no one could step over the doorway without Roland allowing them in or him letting the barriers down momentarily.

Although Roland found himself fond of her due to their inherent compatability with one another, that wasnt enough to grant her the ability or permission to get past his barriers.

Wait. . .

Could this be related to the fact that she has a fair amount of my blood running through her now?

He remembered how just before her training began, he let her drink some blood to establish a stronger link between their minds.

She drank more than she should, and his blood was very potent to begin with.

Not to mention they had an unusual affinity for one another.

So, could the effects of her drinkning his blood be showing now?

At first her eyes changed to a color matching his own, but he covered that with a spell and never told anyone about the change. He hoped that was the extent of it, but. . .

If true, I wonder what else she has been experiencing since then. . .

Hold on, what was it she was saying as she walked in? Something about dreams . . .

Roland considered going to find her, but given what she saw just now he thought it would be an unwise choice.

He heard a loud, rapid knocking on his door. He was still putting on his clothes, and Morrigan had just left.

Reina wouldnt be here again, he was sure. So who . .?

He opened the door curiously.

He found Fenris, naked as day, with a strange look on her face. Her obsidian black har had a lustrous sheen to it in the well-lit hall, falling in waves just shy of her shoulders.

Her cat-like eyes stared at him intensely.

"Roland, that woman who just left, you know her?!" She blurted out.

He scratched his cheek. "Yes. Why?"

"WHY?! Didnt she just leave your room?! No, also, she smelled like you! Also, she smelled pretty damn hor--!"

She took a sudden sniff and found a peculiar scent. It was one she knew well from men who looked at her human form.

But this one was much stronger, more heady and invasive than the others. Her head swam with the force of it.

Then she looked with both horror and fascination at his nether regions, slowly backing away and feeling suddenly very vulverable in her current clothes-less state.

Roland frowned at her actions and pieced the information together quickly. " Calm down, girl. This isnt for you." He frowned again at his word choice.

From her words it seemed that she could smell arousal, and considering what he and Morrigan were about to do, but were interupted in, he was still fairly excited.

Seems she picked up on that and grew a bit wary. But it really wasnt his fault.

It would be odd if he could calm down so fast, right?

And since she was naked, the cold air made the peaks of her two bountiful mounds stand erect, nearly staring up at him.

That, combined with her slender waist that led to the small ravine between her thighs, well, ;et's just say it didnt help things.

He sighed. " Dont just stand there. What if one of the others saw you? Come in. Here put this on. " He grabbed a shirt from his closet quickly and let down his barriers so she could enter and then he promptly shut the door, turning his barriers on once more.

This damn woman, didnt she say she wouldnt leave her cat form while she was here?

Fenris hastily put the shirt on.

She understood that with the scent she picked up on, him and Morrigan were probably. . .She couldnt finish the thought.

She also knew that he was probably still aroused and her nakedness didnt help.

However, she was very in tune with her senses. And the sexual energy she caught with her nose made her a bit lightheaded, the scent swirling all around her.

It probably was good for him that she wasnt naked anymore, but for her who could still strongly smell the raw sexual energy in the room, this shirt of his simply didnt help at all. However, she forced her self to be calm.

"Alright, now tell me, Morrigan, what is the relationship between you two!" She demanded.

" Nothing. " He replied calmly.  " Why do you think there is any relationship between us? Just because I know her, doesnt mean we--"

"Bullshit, I already said, she smelled like you! My nose doesnt lie, and you, you have her scent all over you!" She launched to her feet and came up right in front of his face, taking in a deep sniff.

Roland felt the move was a breach of privacy and pushed her back onto the bed with a hand.

"Aha!" She rolled onto all fours and sniffed the bed, then looked at him in triumph.  Previously she thought she may have been mistaken, but now. . ." Now I know im right!" She exclaimed.

She paused and took another, lighter sniff of the air. " Eh, isnt this that red-haired girl's scent?" Her eyes suddenly widened, " Dont tell me. . ." She muttered.

Roland peered at her. " He, dont be getting any weird--"

" Dont bother. I already know everything. Ah, really, I didnt think that you would be able to pull something like that off. I dont know whether im disgusted or impressed with a slight bit of curiosity myself, but--"

Roland hit her with a gentle, 100% harmless  flick to the forehead. " AH!" She cried.

" What the hell was that for?!"

"For being nosy?"

"Dont say that like you had to think of a reason for doing it!" She frowned and rubbed her wound.

" Look, since you seem to know the majority of what happened here anyway telling you wont serve any purpose."

She refuted. " Maybe if it was another woman, but this is Morrigan we're talking about. Since you claim to know her, then you should understand why this is so astonishing! You clearly have a special relationship with her, dont try to lie to me about it. "

"Why do want to know?"

"Im curious! " She said. Then, "AH! Again?! Why?!" She touchedher forehead tenderly, glaring at him with slightly moistened eyes.

"Your answer annoyed me. Anyway, i'll tell you since Morrigan wouldnt want to keep it a secret now that im here. But first, why do you even care what our relationship is in the first place?"

Fenris looked at him blankly.

Now that she thought of it, why did she care?

If she had to say, it would be because. . ." Animal instinct?"

Roland looked at her, not comprehending. " What?"

She put on a thoughtful expression. " Well, its this room. Other than you, Im the only one to sleep here. That night you picked me up, before you knew who I was. So, this place is mine too? Of course, this whole area is yours but this small space at least is jointly owned by me. It's my  territory too. And Morrigan intruded upon it."

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Roland sent an incredulous look her way. "Do you understand how insane that sounds?"

" . . .Yes. But it isnt just that. . ."

" Then what is it?"

" Well. . .for a few years now, Morrigan has been saying a certain thing that's pretty unbelievable. . ." She hesitated, watching him.

"Go on. " He prompted calmly, waiting. Knowing.

"Well, she's been saying that she has, uh, gotten married. . . I just thought she was joking, or using that as an excuse to reject advances. But looking at her face as she left, and knowing that you two were just, well, you know. . . I just felt everything was a bit complicated? " Fenris finished.

"I see. "

" Well?"

"Well what" He asked.

" Who is she to you exactly?"

She shook her head mentally. No, even though they were just going at it, that was likely just a bit of fun to them, nothing serious or complicated at all. Besides, Morrigan, how could she have any feelings of that sort? That girl, Grace, she makes Morrigan smile, but something like this?

Impossible.

But Roland merely shrugged and replied, perfectly nonchalant, " Oh, she's my wife. "

Silence.

Roland looked at the girl with worry. She appeared. . .frozen?

"Hey, girl, you okay?"

He snapped his fingers in her face.

Suddenly, " @#%^$!!!"

A young boy's voice rang out in exclamation.

Loki appeared in the room, coming out of the form of a fly that he turned into and used to hide behind his daughter's head to avoid detection.

He was bored that morning and went to look for his daughter, concerned how she was adapting to the change in environment.

He followed his daughter ever since he saw her heading towards Roland's room. He, worried, followed her and found Morrigan leaving his room with flushed skin, bright eyes and a slightly annoyed look.

Though his senses were dimmed in the fly's body, it was still superior to most people he knew and he caught the scent of sexual energy in the room and found it still rolling off of his friend.

He almost couldnt believe it. Those two, they really did have such a relationship~!

Loki, when his daughter changed form and his friend opened his door at her knocking, was about to reveal himself as he noticed the direction his friend's arousal was now headed.

Ah, I really have to teach her how to fix that problem of hers! he had thought.

When she backed away from him as she noticed Roland was still "ready", he was amused. But worried, as well. He knew exactly where such a situation could head and was going to step in but he held back and was rewarded by being able to sneak past his barriers when he let them down for her.

Naturally, he held his silence because he, too, wanted to know what the specifics of their relationship was.

But to think it was this!

He lost his fly form and fell on the ground, his mouth agap, staring at Roland like a dead fish.

Roland narrowed his eyes. "Loki! How--? No,  before that, what do you think you're--!"

Loki stood up and grabbed the collar of his shirt. "Bullshit!  That-that-that, how the hell could that be true?!" He stuttered, ignoring Roland's dangerous looks.

He went on, shaking his friend. " Impossible! That woman, there's no way she would agree to be anyone's wife!" He absolutely couldnt believe it! That woman, no way!

" Dammit shut up and let go!" Roland broke free.

"Ah" Fenris suddenly noticed her father was here.

Hm? When did he get here though? Why did it feel like there's a small gap in my memory?

She thought numbly.

Roland smacked his friend's head with a closed fist. " Loki, explain yourself!" He demanded.

"No, you explain yourself! Since when were you and Morrigan even an item? I knew that you two may have had a certain relationship, but marriage?! When did that happen! Ah, wait, that girl! I knew she reminded me of someone!" Loki turned to look at Roland in horror. "Dont tell me that little girl is . . .!"

Roland, a twitch in his cheek, said, " And if she is?"

Loki seemed to want to cough blood. " How! Morrigan cant, she cant even . . .! Gah, This-This is. . . Just what the fuck is going on!?"

Fenris watched them serenely, as if this all was just some dream.

Loki pointed at her, his eyes widening "LOOK! You broke her!  Ah, my daughter, she went into shock! Roland, hurry up and fix her!"

"Me? I dont have anything to do with that. Look, cant you two just calm down? I know all this probably comes as a surprise--and Loki, you're going to pay for snooping later--but I'll explai--"

"Surprise? Bullshit! This isnt a surprise, its goddamn lunacy! I know you're 19! That Grace, she has to be at least 11! I known you since you were like, 12 or 13! You hadnt even gone to the Higher Planes yet back then!  How could you have met Morrigan before then? How could you have a child with her, one so old? How could you two be married?!?!?" He shouted the last words.

He suddenly went quiet. He pulled out a small crystal tablet and tapped on it.

"Loki, what are you--?"

"What  the hell do you think? I m calling the others! Mephisto, Aries, Solomon, I have to tell them about this!" He yelled.

A smooth, friendly voice entered the room. "Yo, Aries here. So, what's up?"

Loki shouted out, " Aries, i'm  in a hurry here, listen to this: Roland and Mor--Ah!"

Roland snatched the tablet from his hand.

The voice rang out again, panicky. "Loki? Loki, you there? Shit, you okay man? Speak! Roland and who? What's happening?! "

"Aries, listen to me, they're--!" Loki tried wrestling it from Roland to no avail. "Kah!" He screamed out after a punch to the stomach from Roland.

"Fuck, Loki, hold on, I'm coming! Where are y--!?" The voice shouted, but was cut off as Roland smashed the thing to the ground.

Loki looked at the shards with dismay. " Why?!" He asked, accusatory.

Roland looked at him coldly. " Shut up. Look, I'll tell you a bit about what you want to know but this is my life and I wont have you announcing this for everyone to hear. Now, calm down! Do you want to hear me out or what?"

Roland would tell him about how he had a past life with Morrigan but nothing else.  Not yet. Someday, he would let them all know.

But not now.

He knew he would have to tell them, they were people who could live for eons to come and the chance that they would meet in a later life were fairly high if he went to the Higher Planes in a future lifetime.

He was surprised he had not met them before, actually.

So, he had to tell them. They would recognise him by his energy pattern, so they would piece it together eventually anyway if they found him again later.

But he dragged it on. He didnt want them to know just yet.

It wasnt as if reincarnation was their specialty either. They couldnt help him, who had been trying to find a workable spell or method for who knows how many reincarnation cycles already.

Loki, hearing his words, sat down quietly and listened along with a still-shocked Fenris.
