Chapter forty-seven

AN: I gotta be honest, sometimes I wait a few extra days to release a chapter. Finished this like a day or two after the last chapter. Hehehe, sorry. Anyways, after reading, tell me how you think of Mercury. Too....perverse? Too..."unique".... might be the word? Let me know.

That's all. Remember to rate, review and comment on anything.

EDIT: As always, further editing will come later. I already did some though, not long ago.

--------------------------

Nearly an hour later, everyone in the school, including staff members whom Roland had not really interacted with before, had all gathered in front of the main building. The pink cherry blossom leaves surrounded them, blowing gently in the wind.

Aries was by Abigail's side, her long auburn hair tied into a ponytail. They talked quietly to themselves. Roland didn't listen in, as that would be too beneath him.  Interested as he was in their history, he wouldn't stoop to such things. He did watch their expressions though.

Sara had awoken some time ago and sought Aries out once she remembered what happened to her room. She proceeded to coldly take out several Artifacts that shot beams of fierce light at him. Also, the sword made a reappearance. It had stabbed out hundreds of times as she angrily thrust it at his body.

Aries had dodged these with ease and was starting to get riled up, so Roland intervened by smacking them both on the head. Aries was left worse off though. His head went into two inches into the ground.

Roland calmed Sara down with a few words...he may have also bribed her a bit with certain items that he knew would pique her interest. She then quickly forgave Aries and had smiled a bit awkwardly as she learned of his identity. She never paid much attention to anything other than her own research and anyone outside her immediate circle of family or friends.

So she didn't recognize him at first sight. Well, Aries wasn't the type to make many public appearances anyway so that was to be expected to some degree. Sara had frowned and muttered to herself as she learned of who she had so blatantly disrespected.  She looked a bit troubled. Anyone would be when they were in the same situation, Roland supposed.  But Aries would let it pass since she was a pretty female.

That guy didn't really discriminate between genders but for females he didn't hold many grudges unless they did something unforgivable to him. Trying to kill him didn't qualify. If anything it made him more interested in the ones who tried. Roland felt there was something wrong with him in that respect but didn't ever comment on it. Aries had smiled a bit at the girl as he made a short conversation with her.

His eyes seemed to brighten a bit as he looked at her too. Clearly Sara was to his liking. Strong, intelligent, fierce, he favored such qualities. Roland felt that it was due to the slight sister complex he had. Athena, that guy's twin, was a perfect example of his ideal woman...It could be said he sought those who resembled or held similarities in personality with her. Not like he held any romantic feeling for that sister of his, though. Least as far as Roland could tell. Those two butted heads almost every time they met.

It was only when Abigail came and told Aries to continue helping with the repair for the damage he caused that the man allowed the girl to move along. He wasn't the pushy type of person but had a way with holding people up and forcing them to be caught up in his own pace. Sara couldn't exactly just ignore him either. She probably thought it would be bad to simply brush off a person like him.

Not that Aries would have done anything, Roland knew.  Anyway, Aries continued to help out a few others with the repairing of the damage he caused up until they all gathered in the front just like now.

Mephisto, for his part, was a bit different. Roland asked him why he was so pissed off at Michael and laughed as he heard the answer. Apparently the force of the impact when he hit the library was different from what Mercury and Aries faced. Mephisto wasn't able to cushion his fall like the other two had.

Mercury with landing and being caught by Roland, Aries by...well, Roland wasn’t sure what he did. Probably used the rooms he crashed into to do it. They were surrounded by a certain special spell that kind of resembled a soft, bubble-like barrier which increased their room size. Bigger on the inside, pretty much. Aries had likely used them to slow down a bit before forcefully stopping himself.

Mephisto, somehow, was different in that he was a bit too slow in reacting. Roland could only say that the man had gotten rusty, allowing that to happen. Anyway, he hit the reinforced building without anything to help him lighten his impact. Being thrown out of a portal would do a lot of damage even to people like them if they didn't try to do anything about it.

So, once he hit, he blacked out for a minute or two. When he awoke, he was surrounded by wide-eyed students wondering why such a feared, respected and easily-recognizable individual like Mephisto had come crashing into the library.

What's more, Michael, panicking, thought that Mephisto was in need of help. He didn't recognize him as fast as the others since he was way too young to know much regarding the power structure of Hell and it's more famous figures. Also, Michael was a bit wet behind the ears due to his age and sheltered life...meaning he didn't know that races like Mephisto's didn't need much air to live on.

And their hearts didn't beat all that much, so it was hard to tell if they were alive. When Michael thought his heart wasn't beating he immediately tried to do CPR and whatnot. Which was right when Mephisto woke up, just as Michael's lips were just an inch from his own.

This annoyed him. And so he started a rampage which grew because the rest of the students kept screaming and running away. Mephisto didn't like the racket and quickly threw a few fireballs at their retreating bodies. It was pandemonium as some enterprising students tried to subdue Mehpisto....which ended badly.

Finally he sought out Michael, who was trying to explain everything and apologize. Mephisto seemed to only grow more annoyed by the boy's blabbering and proceeded to play a bit with him.

Roland conjured the mental image at Michael leaning over an unconscious Mephisto, lips puckered and slowly lowering his head to meet the mouth of the older man.

He couldn't help letting out a laugh and a wide grin as Mephisto recounted all this.

This is what Roland had been told shortly after he first met up with the man.

After this little chat they went to Loki's office, where Roland and Morrigan had that coming out which elicited strong reactions from those present.

Coming back to the present.... Needless to say, no one went near Mephisto when he arrived at the scene filled with multiple students who now bore a few new traumas regarding the incident.

Even now, Roland saw a wide circle around him that was devoid of any student. Word spread fast. Although a few of the women in the crowd looked at the man with blatant interest, none had the courage to approach.

Understandable.

Aries, on the other hand, got the same attention but it was a bit different. The students were not as scared of Aries as they were Mephisto. This was in part due to them not having heard much of all the insane things Aries had done, and because he was the brother of the much-respected Athena.

The males, seeing Aries with the popular Abigail, sent gazes of carefully concealed envy at him.

...Hmm, on the point, Roland had a few similar gazes on him too...

Which was probably because....

" All these girls, look at them, eyeing you like that. You haven't even been here long and you already got a few that seem interested. Honestly..." Morrigan sighed.

Roland looked at his newfound-wife.

She had an arm twined around his almost possessively, her soft breasts pressing against him as she stood close by his side. Her clothing consisted of her usual black dress...only this time it was a deep blue and cut a bit differently, exposing her long and slender legs while emphasizing her pert buttocks.  Her hair was done with two curls that framed her delicate face and her red eyes glowed like polished rubies.

This made every male eye within eyesight stare at her dumbly, entranced.

It matched well with Roland's black suit and blue tie, the clothes that he took out to wear when Mercury's landing ruined his others. It fit him a bit tight, snug. But it was meant to be that way, wrapping around his body like a glove. It was a three-piece suit which consisted of a single-breasted black jacket with several buttons, a similarly black vest, collared shirt and trousers. Yes, all black. Which Roland felt was a bit too much, really. But on the plus side it did make the brilliant, deep blue tie pop more.

Still, Loki, that one who gave it too him, had a fair bit of good taste. It was finely made with expert skill, not some mass produced monstrosity. The material was soft, smooth and airy so it was comfortable to wear....Why had Loki gotten it for him though?

Roland did remember a bit about it but not much. Well, whatever. He liked suits in any case, so it didn't matter. Maybe he should wear them more often.

"Don't take them too seriously." Roland shrugged, " And you aren't exactly unpopular either. I can feel countless murderous gazes on my back right now." he smiled in amusement.

"...I don't like it either, daddy. These women, looking at you like that....They completely disregard the fact that me and mommy are here beside you." Grace chimed in sulkily, not happy at all. Roland shook his head a bit, knowing he was outnumbered.

Both mother and daughter were annoyed at Roland himself garnering a few interested eyes despite the two of them being the focus of many more in comparison.

She glared at the girls, her eyes narrowed in warning.  As if sensing her displeasure, the white multi-tailed fox by her feet also bristled it's fur. It then jumped on top of Grace's shoulder, starting to lick her cheek. Roland knew that the fox wasn't ordinary. He recognized it's species. He should probably let Grace know what it was sometime. If raised right, the thing could become a life-long friend.

" Don't worry about them." He said, patting her on the head....He was doing that a lot recently....

" This is all so tiresome. Where did Loki get to? " Morrigan frowned in consternation

"He went to fetch the ride. Should be back soon." Roland explained.

"Ah, I haven't seen sister Fenris or sister Reina....I wonder where they are..." Grace looked around.

" Fenris, I don’t know....But Reina's packing her things with the rest. I don't think you met them all. You know, there is a girl about your age I hope you can be friends with. Charlotte, I think her name is." Roland glanced at the girl.

"...Eh? But I wanted to introduce sister Fenris to daddy...."

"I met her already though...But what do you think about meeting Charlotte?"

"Charlotte, huh..." She muttered, thinking. " I don't know. I want to play with mommy and daddy ...but If daddy wants, I can at least see the girl...." She spoke hesitantly.

Roland looked curiously at Morrigan.

"She doesn't know many girls her age, so she might be a bit..." Morrigan trailed off, averting her gaze.

This was one of the things she regretted: Grace not being able to play with those her own age. How would she really connect with people who looked young but were in actuality many decades her senior? Fenris was good to the girl, but that wasn't the same.

Morrigan didn't know how she would be able to provide children for her to play with. It was not a truly important matter, and Grace didn't seem to mind, but...

She was a very...sheltered child. It could even be said that the only truly important person she ever had in her life was Morrigan. No great friends, not even someone she would be able to talk with on even ground. She was doted upon by those older than her, but that was pretty much it. Not to mention that she had grown up within Morrigan's Temple where she had legions of servants to take care of her needs.

"Well, who knows, you two might end up great friends. So, later, make sure to try and get along. Alright?"

Grace nodded. "Okay, daddy. But..." A odd shadow came over her eyes and she paused, unsure.

"But?" He asked.

"Daddy, it's just that...the last time I made a friend, I...Because of my powers, she..." Her voice seemed to fail her, going a bit hoarse. She looked at him, then away, her eyes slightly misting up.

Roland saw the expressions she and Morrigan made. He could guess what happened. " Grace, your powers are a part of who you are. If you are afraid of them, even to a slight degree, they will never be fully under your command. Don't fear them, don't reject them. They are not some foreign entity, but a part of your very being. As long as you remember that, then there will never come a time when you lose control." Roland spoke firmly, holding her eyes with his own and trying his best to make her understand.

"Daddy..." Grace's eyes widened, staring at him.

"Well," He continued casually, " Even if your powers do go out of control a bit I'll stop you before anyone can get hurt. So don't worry about it too much and just focus on making some friends."

Morrigan saw her daughter's expression lighten up instantly, smiling and looking up at her father with relief, gratitude and joy, as if a weight had been lifted off her tiny shoulder. Morrigan marveled at the change.

During a certain incident Grace had harmed the only friend she had within the Temple. It was nothing too serious, the girl survived, but Grace had never been entirely comfortable when using her abilities around anyone but her mother.

It wasn't entirely noticeable, but she lived with the fear that she might once again lose control and harm someone. This is also why she hadn’t made many real friends. She put up a subtle wall that she probably didn't even know about herself.

It wasn’t a surprise she was hesitant to meet that Charlotte girl given all that.

Morrigan felt she had failed her daughter in that regard. She should have tried harder to allow her a more normal life. To take that tiny worry in her daughter's heart and make it go away. She smothered her daughter in love, but that alone wasn't enough. Maybe she wasn't a person fit to be a good mother. She hated to think that, though. She knew that if Roland had been in their lives back then he would have been able to help her give Grace a much better upbringing

He was always the more...sensible one. She, as an ancient goddess, lacked common sense in many things when they first met. The person she is today is in part due to his influence. Who knows what Grace would have turned out like had it been Morrigan's old self who raised her.

The short exchange between the father and daughter convinced Morrigan that her husband would be an excellent father. A mere few words from him and the fear, the worry that she might harm this Charlotte just as she did that girl from before, was reduced almost to the point where it was gone.

Not only did he explain the nature of Grace's power, he also told her how she might be able to master them better by accepting that they were a part of her. He even said that even if she wasn't able to do that now, even if she did lose control,  he would step in and stop anything from happening.

And Grace, so trusting and affected by the words spoken with absolute confidence, had responded positively to it all. Perhaps it wasn't enough to completely alleviate Grace's concerns, but it was more than Morrigan was able to do despite all the time she had spent with her.

Morrigan was truly happy that her husband was here, with them.

--------------------------------------------------------

Fenris was resting upon the top of the main building's ledge, gazing down at the students and staff gathered below. She saw Abigail and a person she recognized as Aries, a God Of War, chatting a bit between themselves.

She had heard the entrance of the three. She smelled her mother, Aries and Mephisto. Also felt their familiar energy signatures. She didn't know Lord Mephisto all that well, but she knew Aries. Her other father, Hermes, was in the same Pantheon as Aries. So she did interact with the man a bit.

Due to certain reasons, she had sought them both out for a fight at least once under disguise. But it ended in a close tie with both, which wasn't what she was looking for.

A mere tie, unable to defeat or be defeated...she wasn't satisfied with that. So, she didn't seek out another battle with the two anymore after that first time.

Hm, her father didn't like her mingling with his friends too much. For what reason, she felt she understood a bit. Though the worry was needless.

Lord Mephisto, unlike Aries, was alone. Or rather, the entire space around him was barren, not a soul in sight. Some people did watch him from the sidelines with interested gazes, mainly females, but none was courageous or suicidal enough to approach the man who emitted a very "Don't fuck with me"-aura at the moment.

Fenris also saw some other, more noticeable students. They stuck together, each on wearing an armband. They looked more mature than the others, more powerful too. They didn’t attend classes much but that wasn't a problem as far as her father was concerned. Right now, like many others, the eyes of these were focused on four people that were close by.

She yawned lazily, catching sight of the group. The first one she noticed was tall, handsome man with jet-black hair and lean yet masculine build. She couldn't see his face, but in the past few days his smell was very familiar. Like...spice, almost. A nice mixture of that and other things which was very pleasing to the nose.

This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.

To his side, clinging to him with her breast against his side, was a beautiful woman in a deep blue dress that exposed a decent bit of her legs. Her long, soft-looking strands of snow white hair was familiar to Fenris too, along with the small girl to her side.

The girl was adorable. Unlike the woman's seductive figure, the girl could only be described as cute and angelic. Pure, worthy of protecting. Hmm...now that Fenris saw the girl, didn't she and the man she was currently holding the sleeve of smell kinda....similar?

Ah, on that note, she remembered that even their eyes seemed a bit like each other's too. What a weird coincidence. She looked at them more closely. She now knew the relationship the two adults there...so, logically speaking, the girl must be their daughter, right? They looked and smelled alike, after all.

Fenris felt a bit dazed. She oddly hadn't even thought of the possibility until just now. Wait...that didn't seem right though. That woman, how is it possible that she could have a child....Maybe she was wrong....

This was probably the first time she doubted her instincts.

Lastly, there was a white fox, about the size Fenris was since she was in her cat form at the moment. It held multiple tails, each ending in golden tips. And from these tips they extended several inches towards the base of the tails. There were fire-like patterns to them as well. Very detailed, the lines and curves were without flaw as if drawn with exceeding care.

Going back a bit to the girl, Fenris decided not to think about it for now. Maybe she would ask for confirmation later.

But they did create a lovely sight. Cherry blossom leaves fluttering in the wind, beams of light smiling down on them, the gazes of almost everyone upon them.

The surrounding students even gave them a bit of space, as if unconsciously not wanting to disturb the nice atmosphere between the three.

Women looked with interested eyes at the man, while the men leered at the woman. The girl was stared at too, the people not able to resist her lovely appearance. Combined with the white fox, the girl's adorable-ness reached unimaginable heights.

"Ah, my precious daughter, here you are~ I found you~ C'mere, give mother dearest a hug~" Suddenly a surprisingly annoying voice appeared behind Fenris.

She reacted instantly, leaping away just as two hands reached her previous resting place.

Her mother, Mercury, a very beautiful women with a head full of chestnut brown hair, pouted as her daughter successfully dodged.

"tsk" She clicked her tongue. " Well, I guess I should know better by now to try sneaking up on you." Her mother sighed.

Well, technically she could also qualify as her aunt. Fenris' birth mother was not the woman before her. She had several mothers and fathers but only one of the mothers gave birth to her. It was a unique situation since her real father, Loki, had several different versions of himself that each had their own personalities.

Some, like this one, identified as a female. So...yeah...

" So, mom, how you been?" Fenris greeted casually, changing to her human form. " Molest anyone interesting recently?" Mercury wasn't some floozy who just slept around with anyone, but she wasn't exactly afraid of seducing whatever man caught her eye at the moment.

Hmm....What would you call a female womanizer?

"Nope. Well, not really. I mean, there was this one guy I met recently who had a killer bod, but apparently he's taken. Too bad, really. He seems like the type you want to bring home and thoroughly enjoy yourself with, if you know what I mean," She wiggled her brows suggestively, grinning at her daughter as if sharing some secret.

"Don't know and don't want to know." Fenris sniffed in displeasure. Honestly...

"So, I bet you're wondering why I’m h--"

"Not really. I can guess. Dad called Aries some time ago and suddenly he, Mephisto and you show up? I'm able to notice the clues." Fenris said, yawning once more. "Aries probably misunderstood something, picked up Mephisto, contacted the one closest person that had a suitable Teleportation Array, and came here. That person was probably you, right? You probably decided to come here on a whim."

Mercury looked hurt. " Well, kind of, but I was worried, you know? I learned that Gehenna was here and was afraid that you--"

"I had heard a bit ago that Gehenna was here. Which freaked me out a bit. But I think I can handle myself against her. So, thanks for the concern but it wasn't needed. I appreciated it, I do, but--"

Mercury, her cheek twitching in sudden irritation, smacked her.

"Ah!" Fenris cried out, more in surprise than pain.

"Let me be clear: You can't win against her." Mercury said coldly. " Look, Fenris, your father Loki and most other people don’t know how truly terrifying that woman Gehenna is. I, myself, am not at liberty to say...but there is a very good reason none of the leaders of the pantheons are willing to fight that woman. Not even willing to ban together and do so. Think a bit about why that might be."

Her words were quiet, insistent.

"Just know this about her: Even if you win, you will lose. This is the kind of existence she is, my girl. Maybe even she doesn't know, but I and a few others do. No matter what you do, in the end, it won't matter against her. I suggest you question exactly why she is called a walking disaster, an abomination, and who were the people that first called her that."

Mercury then seemed to lose her serious expression to adopt her usual air of playfulness. While Fenris was still mulling the strange words her mother spoke of, Mercury conjured a cream colored off-the-shoulder sweater for her now naked daughter. It was made of knit satin, soft to the touch, revealing her collarbone and shoulders. It was long, too, reaching far enough to be worn in public if it came to it.

"Thanks." Fenris muttered.

"No probs. But, you still haven't fixed that transformation issue of yours, eh? Well, I’m not a great teacher, so unfortunately I can't help there." She replied with a small chuckle. " But that aside..." She looked her daughter over. " Man, I got great taste, don't I? Heh, that sweater totes shows off your feminine appeal. I have a real gift for fashion~" She gushed, making a laugh.

"....."

"So, what were you looking at?" She turned her gaze toward the direction her daughter was looking at previously, completely disregarding the  effect her words had made on Fenris.

"Nothing." Fenris said, frowning. She held up a hand to block her mother's sight.

"Eh, c'mon, let me see~" She moved her head, trying to get a better view.

Fenris didn't think it was a good idea to let her mother know what she was looking at. Not that it was bad, but...She was a bit worried about how this lascivious mother of hers would respond to seeing--"

"Ah, so it was him~!" Her mother exclaimed suddenly.

The younger girl bristled. " I don't know what you're talking about. Him, who?" She played innocent.

Mercury grinning at her daughter knowingly. " Acting dumb, huh? Hehe, you can't fool me, daughter of mine!" She then pointed to the group of four Fenris was watching moments ago.

" ...You know him?"

"Yup. Met him today for the first time, though. He's the one I was talking about. Mmm, that man....You know, I believe that the heavens want us to jump on top of each other. Probably several times, until we pass out, before going again. Several of those times will probably have to involve some oil as well. Or bubbly water. Maybe some ice cream. Perhaps spread evenly throughout " She nodded. "Nn, indeed, this is most likely the case. This is what my instincts tell me. " The lascivious mother stated, making Fenris think that it was a certain other part of the woman which had told her all this.

"After all, I did first appear to him pretty much naked. So was he. Is this not some sign? "

These words caused Fenris to stare incredulously at her mother. This woman....she was just.... why did both she and Loki have to act like dogs in heat all the time? Fenris sighed inwardly.

"...Is what I'm saying, but sadly he's married. And to Morrigan!" She shook her head in wonderment.

She glanced at her daughter. " You don't seem surprised.

"I already knew for some time."  Fenris explained.

"Well I suppose that's to be expected since you've been here all this time. Loki knew, so you probably would as well. But it's such a waste!" She spoke up with great regret. " Does that woman even have any sex drive? I never saw any indication of such from her. Hell, even Artemis and Athena, those prudes, indulge in a bit of self-pleasure from time to time!" She shamelessly revealed one of the most well-kept and darkest secrets of the two goddesses. "Binding such a man to you, yet not enjoying him, too lamentable! Is that not akin to having a Ferrari in your garage but never taking it out for a ride? If it were me, such a thing wouldn't be allowed. Ah, truly too wasteful." The woman shook her head sadly.

Fenris tilted her head a bit and looked at her mother curiously.

Hm? Ferrari? What was that?

Probably something stemming from some world or another.  Fenris didn't visit all that many worlds, so she wouldn't know.

"...But such a fine specimen, perhaps even that cold woman would melt once things got all hot and steamy." Mercury laughed perversely. " Now that I think of it, shouldn’t that be the case if they were able to make "that" together? That would have to be the case, yes?" She muttered, Then peered over the ledge and looked at the small group once more. Speaking louder now, she let out a smirk.

" Ah, indeed, look at that! That expression, that sensuous dress...." She took a quick sniff, using her enhanced senses,"...That slightly sweet yet spicy smell...Ho-ho, so I’m right!" She declared.

"That woman, so even she can really have such desires. Extraordinary!" She shook her head in wonder.

Fenris was finally able to get a word in. " Since it's like that I suppose you don't need to worry. They seem pretty content." She looked at her mother with some contempt. Seriously, that woman....

"That's true. Well, it is against my morals to go after a married man....But with our first meeting being like it was, I can only assume it is my fate to have a taste, at the very least. Do you not think so? Also, that one red head from before seemed a bit close to him. A mistress? Oooh, it seems they don’t mind such things. I wonder if they would consider a fourso--"

"Mother!" Fenris angrily cut her off, her cheeks slightly reddening. She felt like hitting the woman. She and her father, was there anyone as shameless and perverse as those two?

"What?" Mercury asked defensively, "Little girl who has yet to know the carnal pleasures between men and women, you have no right to speak. Hmph, I can tell, that man should be quite fun to play with." She asserted. " Besides, it is a natural thing, you know. Nothing wrong with it. You simply cannot understand, poor thing. I really need to find you a good man. I can't let you end up like those two stuck-up prudes I mentioned earlier."

Fenris nearly choked, " Shut up. Damn perverted old hag. I can find a mate if I wanted to. You think I, this stunning goddess, can not find a partner? Let me tell you, the number of suitors that hope to be with me are enough to make a line from the Northern Regions of Hell to the Southern Regions." She spoke arrogantly, with much indignation. "...I simply haven't found someone worthy enough." She finished a bit weakly.

"Gah, worthy enough, listen to yourself. Pathetic." Mercury spit. " There isn't any such thing! Hell, even Cupid has been known to cheat on that wife of his from time to time. Even Manannan Mac Lir hasn't always been faithful to that Fand woman! Worthy? Oh please." She mocked.

Looking again at the group they had been discussing. Her eyes brightened. " Hey, you know, he seems pretty experience from what I've heard. Why don't you just get it over with and play with him a bit? I'm sure that if you asked nicely, then it would be fine!" She chuckled.

Fenris' head hurt. She couldn't deal with this one. She was too much. She never quit, ah. Always amking others get caught up in her own pace, she was too formidable.

" Unlike some people, I don't find something like that appealing at all." Fenris said, sighing with weariness. This talk exhausted her, and she didn't even say much.

"Oh, what's that I smell? Could it be...bullshit? " Mercury made a little sniff. "I mean, you cant tell me you aren't at least a tiny bit interested~"

"....."

Fenris knew that whatever she said would just encourage her. She wouldn't give the woman anything to use.

But she was too naive.

"Ah-ha! Your silence says it all~"

....Fenris really just couldn't win, could she?

" This is why I never visit anymore..." She muttered.

"I know, and it saddens me that never do these days. But hey, this is a good bonding experience. Well, It would be weird though..." Mercury held her chin, trailing off.

Fenris didn't know what she was talking about, and didn't want to know.

"Meh, forget it. Too kinky, even for me. Besides, it would make things awkward. Oh well." Mercury shrugged. " Well, if I ever get the chance to sample him, I will, but all good things come in time. I can be patient."

"Are you seriously planning to molest him?" Fenris didn't think there was another word for it. He probably wouldn't agree to it willingly. He didn’t strike her as particularly lustful....She thought back to the time she met him just after Morrigan had left his room. Fenris started to remembered how pungent and heady the smell of sexual arousal was in the place.  Enough to make her slightly dizzy.

...Well, at the very least he didn't seem to have loose morals.

"Nonsense." Mercury said. " Well, I do seem to wanna pour chocolate on his naked body and lick it off, but that's nothing bad."

Fenris' cheek twitched in irritation.

" However, I don't know. I'm not against taking him against a wall, but to be honest I think I’m going to treat this kind of casually. If it happens, great. If not, it would be truly regretful, but no real loss."

"...You're going to try enticing him, aren’t you?"

" Who knows, maybe. " Mercury laughed. " But as I said, I do have some morals. Plus I have no intentions to tear up such a lovely-looking family. I really think I might have to take the high road on this one." She sighed mournfully. " Well, whatever."

Fenris sighed too now, but with relief. Such words signaled the end of this dreadful topic.

"But I still think you should just pick someone already. I would like several grand-children, please. I've been feeling an influx of maternal love these days and have no one to dote on.  You know, since my dearest daughter has chosen to forsake me."

She conjured a handkerchief and wiped at imaginary tears.

"Then why don't you go get yourself knocked up and become a mother in truth. "

"Go to hell. Me, a birth mother? Please. There is such a thing as a bad joke, my dear girl. You know I don’t have the skills to raise a brat."

"...You're right. The thought is too disturbing."  Who knew how any child raised by this thing would turn out?

Fenris felt a strong wind blow. This wide-necked sweater was surprisingly warm. Felt good too.

She inwardly thanked her mother.

Suddenly another strong wind blew.

The sky darkened.

"What the..."

"Look at that..."

" It's blocking out the sun..."

"A...ship...?"

Numerous conversations sprung up from the students below.

A loud, cheerful voice filled with mirth resounded throughout the area.

"Everyone get on, hurry up! Let's go, let's go, let's go! The last person to board has to clean all  the bathrooms with their tongue!" It laughed maniacally.

Roland looked up and saw a giant, monolithic ship that was made of pure gold. It glowed brightly like the sun. It's size was truly enormous, blocking out the sky.

It had several levels, and it was roughly 1,900 feet from bow to stern. It had multiple "districts" held within that contained things like a Central Park  filled with grassy Plaines and running streams, an Entertainment  Zone that held multiple arcades, theatres and other such things.

It even had a Shopping Area which allowed you to buy goods produced from a wide variety of places. any given time, there would be at least a few thousand people running around it's halls or deck.

Why did Roland know this despite only seeing the thing from far away?

Well, that was because....

"Mommy, that place looks familiar? I think we've been there before..." Grace looked up, her eyes shining. The fox at her should looked up too, craning it neck.

"Isn't that Apollo's personal cruise ship....?" Morrigan asked with not a small amount of shock.

"...He stole it, didn't he?" Roland narrowed his eyes.

"How rude. I borrowed it sometime ago."

Loki, in his kid form, appeared in front of them, grinning wildly.

"He probably doesn't yet know I have it, though"
