--------------------------------------------

Somewhere in a dark forest.

A wounded figure leaned against a large black sword, clutching her chest upon which was a long, meticulously done slash.

Out of the shadows stepped a tall young man with boyish features, neatly-combed chestnut brown hair and a pair of eyes that were sharp like a snake's, full of both disregard for life and a faint light of merriment that was sickening.

The man wore a set of light black armor that morphed into block suit with a green tie that gave an air of refinement to his lean figure.

The wounded woman raised her violet eyes at the man with loathing.

"Loki." She spat. " Are you sure you should be in the same planet as one of your other halves? Do you not have a kitten to kill or candy to steal from a baby somewhere? "

The man laughed as if he found the taunts amusing. " One step ahead of you, my dear." He pulled out a piece of candy from his breast pocket and waved it smugly in front of her.

"Then leave!" She shouted. Her breathing turned rough.

"Oh? Why so angry? Trouble in paradise? Have you not reunited with the one you sought for all these years?" He grinned in a glib, provoking fashion.

He slapped a hand to his forehead as if in realization. " Oh! I know! You're angry because he's already moved on from you, am i right? Haha~" His laugh was long and drawn out before he let out a small breath. " Ah, I am! Look at that face! So easy to read~!"

The woman snarled at him, her eyes flashing dangerously. " Can you tell what im thinking of doing now, Loki?"

The man waved a hand. " Please. It gets confusing when one of the other are on the planet as well. Call me Hermes here, if you will. I prefer that one anyway."

The woman repressed her anger. "What do you want?" She enunciated each word sharply

The man pulled out a small crystal tablet from empty space and presented it to her with an air of extreme self-importance.

" I simply wanted to share with you this touching scene. Oh, look at them, dont they  seem so happy and content together? Why, it makes even my heart feel soft and gooey inside!"

The tablet showed an image of three people, a snow-haired pair, one a small adorable girl and the other a curvaceous young woman. The last was a tall, very handsome young man with midnight black hair.

The young man held the two in his arms in a firm, warm embrace as the beautiful woman planted a quick kiss on his lips.

The wounded woman looked, entranced, with a strange expression on her lovely face. She grabbed hold of the tablet.

Soon, drops of water blurred the image, yet there was no sign of rain.

Hermes looked at her with a small, almost cruel smile and his eyes seemed to eat up the scene, gazing at her with a twisted joy.

Ah, how much it must hurt, to watch the object of your obsession hold another woman in his arms! Yes, what a wonderful expression you have!

" Oh, look at the time!" Hermes exclaimed, looking at his watchless-wrist. "Well, I have quite a busy schedule that I simply have to be getting back to. Keep the tablet to yourself. Enjoy~" He laughed.

With that, the man vanished into the dark once more

However, his voice called out to her even so.

" Dont fret too much, my dear! We will be seeing each other quite a bit more from now on, you can count on it! And dont do anything extreme now, my compatriots have quite a bit of plans for you and that young man of yours! Fear not, follow our directions and soon the two of you will be as close as peas in a pod once more~! Till then~!"

The last words echoed in the dark forest for several long seconds.

Now all that could be heared was a series of soft sobs that was carried by the wind and accompainied by the rustling of dead leaves.

-------------------------------------

A brightly-lit circular chamber.

Upon the center of the room rested a large round table with tall-backed wooden chairs. Two people currently resided in the room.

The first was a black-haired man with two  iridescent wings who was standing while peering down at a large book with six-letter name upon it's cover.

The other was a woman,  hair like fire that ended in lush waves just as it touched her delicate shoulders.

She rested on top of the table and held an almost unreal charisma and charm that left one stunned upon meeting her.

Upon her forehead was a golden seal and she played with a golden fire on her hand, her deep emerald eyes seeming ageless and unfathomable.

She turned to the man. "What are you reading?" She asked in boredom.

The man replied without looking away. " A autobiography, in a way. " He said shortly.

"Of who?"

"See for yourself." He pushed the book at her.

She scanned the contents.

The words were hand written in excellent, majestic penmanship.

" Hmm, I see.  I take it this is his?"

She asked.

He nodded

" I dont see why you kept this. For sentimental value I suppose?"

The man didnt reply.

She shook her head at him. "Well, it seemes Hermes and the Crone are going to be late, as usual."

The woman paused. "Why do you let the crone be part of this?" She asked suddenly. " That person, are you not worried she will follow her own  plans? Because you're a fool if you think she has none."

" Yes, im aware. A few of the others warned me as well, but as long as the crone keeps her plans from interfering with ours it doesnt matter. "

"  Very well. Ah, but do take heed to not allow any missteps at this point."

The man showed the ghost of the smile. " Your concern is touching. If my father were here, he would jump in joy at the improvements in your personality."

The woman laughed. " You say that as if he were dead and gone. "

" He may as well be "

"Oh? Is that a hint of bitterness  I detect?" She commented. She got no response once again.

" Honestly, where are those two?"

"I fear Hermes has gone out of his way to rile up Gehenna. A bold move. Or a suicidal one."

"Lets hope she kills him and spare us the trouble. "  She stretched her arms.

" We wont be that fortunate. And besides, still need him. For now. "

"Hopefully not for much longer then."

Suddenly a laughing man teleported inside the room, followed a second later by a grey-robed figure.

"Oh look, they're here at last. What an honour. " The woman said drily.

The man put the book away. "Hermes. Crone. Glad to have you join us, finally. No, dont speak." He stopped the young man with a hand.

Hermes sniffed in indignation. " Well, are we going to call them or what?"

The man nodded. He snapped his fingers, the sound echoing louder than it should have.

Instantly the idle chairs were occupied by several shadowy figures.

Hermes, the Crone, and the woman took one of the few empty seats.

The man took his as well, saying,

"We have much to discuss, everyone. Its time to begin our plans in earnest."
