Time. It’s the flow of the world…Of everything. Everything that is there turns around time.
Maybe the strongest thing that is created is, time.
The most important thing that exists is time.
The thing that is the best cure and the worst poison is, time.
Time, everything is created to follow time. There is nothing that can intercept it.
But the only thing that can change time is, someone his mind. Their thoughts, their way of thinking, their feelings.
It can never stop but it can feel like it is slowing down drastically like it just stopped.
That arrow that is almost inside my forehead, just stopped moving but so did everything else.
I’m in what feels like my own little space, my own thought.
I can do nothing but I can thing about everything I want. I got the time for it if I want and… and what. I can’t do anything else except slowly waiting for that arrow to hit me in my forehead.
If that arrow hits me and I die, will I get reborn?
Or will I live on as a ghost and seeing by body lying here?
Maybe I will transcend into another being.
I also can live on in another world. A world where people go when they die.
All those things are maybe to think about later, I didn’t live my life like I want it to.
But how will I live my life? Do I want to become the strongest in the continent.
Or maybe I want to become the ruler of this world.
I don’t know what I want to do with my live. Is that strange when you not know what you want in life?
Of course that little light wanted me to save this world but does that really needs to be me? Isn’t there someone else in this entire continent who would take the honour of saving this world.
Even if I go save the world, against what will I save the world there isn’t a treat at this moment that wants to destroy the world.
So against what do I need to fight then even? And do I even need to fight or does someone else that while I just support them?
“Save the world that is fated to be doomed.” That was the thing that that little light said, but what if he told me that I just could change fate and by that save the world.
Like if I am fated to be killed here, what if I manage to survive and live on.
Will the whole flow of the world change or will it stay the same.
Or when I chose to take a step with my left feet instead of my right feet, will it matter?
If it matters, is everything that happens been planned out by some higher deity?
I don’t want to.
I don’t want to die.
I…I don’t want to finish this life without knowing what I want.
I want to live on and explore my own life.
I-I. want to live on.
I want to be surrounded by people that I love!
By people that love me.
A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
I’m not done yet!
The arrow slowly comes closer to me and I can’t move fast enough.
Until.
White? Red? Or is it Yellow?
I don’t know I can’t really see it. It is bright, really bright.
What am I seeing? A star or is it something else.
I don’t know.
But my sight, the time, everything looks like it just was like a moment ago.
“Orvar! Keep your head in the fight!”
I snapped out of my confusion and looked around.
Arora just screamed to me but what happened to that arrow?
Where is it and how am I alive.
Or what saved me?
Is that really what I need to think of at this moment?
I’m still in this battle with death around every corner.
No one also seems to notice what just happened.
But I have a strange memory, that I have never happened before.
When I concentrate about it I just hear a voice.
‘Orvar please just be a bit more careful. You are fated to be the saver of this world, you can’t die yet. You still have a whole future before you, so be a lot more careful about your decisions.’ The voice said I didn’t see anything or sensed anything.
‘to make your fight a bit easier I gave you a new weapon this one is a bit lighter then your previous sword.’ The voice slowly faded away.
‘remember Orvar your fate is a mystery for everything so be careful.’
The voice completely faded away and I had a woman screaming in my ear.
“Orvar! What are you doing we are fighting!”
I jumped away out of reflex.
“you don’t need to scream into my ear, Arora.” I hold my hand on my ear.
She shakes her head. “Then you needed to be in the battle instead of standing still drifting away in your thoughts.”
“B-B… Yeah okay you are right I need to keep my head with me.” I answered to her.
After the battle not now, this isn’t a good time to tell them what happened.
I looked down at my right hand where my sword is, and it directly feels more comfortable.
My sword it is a lot lighter but not only that it is totally different.
I hold it up to get a good look at it and.
Only one part of the metal is sharp, and why is it curved?
This is a totally different weapon then before.
I saw a assassin running at me. It isn’t a important assassin it is just one of the ground troops.
He is holding a long sword next to his body while he is running.
This is the best time to find out what this weapon can do.
I bend my knees a little to stand better so that I won’t fall as easy.
As the assassin is coming closer am I calculating how he will try to hit me.
He holds his sword against his left side on is body, so he will try to hit me from my right.
I lifted my new sword a little and attacked it on the place where he would try to hit me.
But to my surprise, he is nowhere to be seen.
Where did he go?
Did he jump over me?
I desperately looked around me to find the assassin but he was no where to be seen in first sight.
But then I felt something strange about that rock before me, that rock is new and wasn’t here in the first place.
I carefully walked closer to that rock before me.
When I came closer the rock exploded and the assassin that I was fighting jumped out of the rock.
He attack me with his sword from above me but I countered his attack.
I attacked him with a slash from his feet up to his head that he needed to block.
The assassin turned mid air using my sword to jump away.
When he landed on the ground he scratch his head.
“You are more annoying than I thought.”
“What did you expect then?” I genuine asked.
He thought for a moment. “I don’t really know but I didn’t think you would be this skilled. Now I have to be careful to not kill you.”
“Ahaa you want me alive. That is a good detail to know.” I replied.
I saw him frowning his brows because his masked moved.
“Can you already give up?” He asked.
“And why would I?”
He looked at the ground. “Just so that I can capture you and then you don’t need to get hurt. It is as easy as that.”
“I decline your off-“
The ground suddenly moved upwards into a ball around us.
What is this did he just conjure this while he distracted me?
The ground around us was now completely round and there where a few small holes in it for light.
I couldn’t see much in this sphere, the only thing that I am able to see is a shadow moving around in here.
What do I do? What can I even do? It is not like I can create light in here, I don’t have anything to make light…I know it, Fire!
I conjured a small ball of fire in my hand.
To my surprise that small ball of fire lit up the whole earthen sphere.
I could see the assassin clearly now.
I was just in time with making the fire because the assassin already jumped at me to attack me.
I hold up my sword and our blades clash against each other.
I felt that his body is shrouded in mana.
So I don’t have the choice but to do the same.
I shroud my body also in mana and I directly feel the strength in my arms.
We both keep attacking each other no one able to hit the other.
I can keep up with him because of this sword!
If I didn’t had this sword I couldn’t keep up.
After some time I heard some heavy crashes from outside the sphere where we are fighting in.
We both looked at the way where the crashes come from.
The sphere is shaking with every crash.
I didn’t waste time and attacked the assassin before he could react.
I slices open one of his legs and he directly fell to the ground.
When the sphere was shaking more and more, I can see a small hole that is created from outside the sphere.
I saw a fist hitting it from the out side making a bigger hole.
The fist got through the sphere and broke it more open.
“Orvar be more careful next time. I can’t always save you.”
Arora opened the hole with a smile on her face.
