The morning after Cindy became a woman of god, a new week had started. It was Monday, a work day. The beginning of the half-elf's assassination endeavors was just around the corner; at least, it should've been. The born again Kristian had other plans, however. Director Ben, with a fresh contract laid on his desk for Cindy and Kai, was left flabbergasted by the half-elf's shocking announcement. Kai, Amy, and Aria were all present in Ben's office as well.
"Oh my. Sooo, you're really serious about this, Cindy?" Ben asked, sipping on his morning coffee.
"I'm afraid so, Director Ben," Cindy said, her voice filled with melancholy as she held a resignation letter to Director Ben. "I'm sorry, but as a born-again Kristian, I absolutely can't kill anymore! No matter what the reason, taking one's life is one of the gravest sins there is. I-It's just wrong!"
"But, it feels so right," Amy said, rubbing her chin with her hands, puzzled by the half-elf's remarks. "You're really just gonna leave us like that? I thought you were having so much fun with us!"
"I'm sorry, Director Amy. I'll miss you all a lot, but... I can't continue this occupation. The Lord doesn't get down like that, you see," Cindy said, pulling a stack of small, black bibles from her bag. "This is how God operates," she continued, handing out bibles to her former coworkers with an energetic smile on her face.
"What the fuck is this?!" Amy screamed in horror, instantly dropping the holy book to the ground. "You trying to turn me into a zombie or something? What the fuck is with you, anyway? Why are you acting so weird all of a sudden? It's really creeping me out..."
"How dare you! You desecrated the holy bible, my precious gift to you all!!!" Cindy screamed frantically, quickly picking up the book and blowing the dust off it.
"Oh right. Cindy did say something about being a good Kristian from now on, if we survived Aria trying to fuckin' murder us. Sooo, yeah. Guess she's convinced god saved us," Kai said, staring at the black book in his hands. "I didn't know she was serious, though."

"I'm super serious about this, Kai! Oh, you all should come to church with me. We can all face our sins together, and strive to become better people in the name of God!" Cindy suggested.
"My dear, you sound like a lunatic," Aria scoffed, squeezing on her stress ball. "You were not saved by any damn god; you were saved by my... shortcomings."
"Yeah, I know," Cindy said. "It was all a test sent down by The Lord, in order to show me the way; and I passed! What's with the ball, by the way?"
"My therapist says it's a good way to... relieve tension, I suppose," Aria sighed. "I'm not killing you right now, so I believe it is working!" she smiled, squeezing the ball even faster.
"Oh, that's great to hear!" Cindy said joyfully. "I forgive you, by the way... for trying to murder us. The Lord teaches forgiveness, and I forgive you, Aria!" she continued, clasping the woman's right hand between both her hands.
"Um, okay... You can let go now," Aria scoffed, lowering an eyebrow, and tugging her hand away. "I never took you as someone who'd fall to fanaticism so easily," she continued, pulling out a small bottle of sanitizer from her pocket, and wiping her hands clean.
"I-I'm not a fanatic! Why are you all looking at me like that? Like I'm some poor, helpless child. I'm a grown woman, dammit. And I've made my decision; I quit!" Cindy yelled.
The room fell silent as everyone present looked on at Cindy with pity. Why are they all looking at me like that? The half-elf thought. I can make my own decisions! I can be my own person! What, just because I'm a holy woman now, I'm some sort of freak?
"Well, say something, dammit!" the half-elf demanded, flustered with a red face.
"Yeah, Cindy. That's cool and all, but... let me tell you why that's not a good idea," Amy said, slumped back in a chair with her hands behind her head.
"W-what do you mean?" Cindy asked.
"Well, ya see... We all totally support you and all, even though it's creepy as hell. Seriously, you disgust me now. I still got love for ya, though. However..." Amy paused.
"W-what is it?"
"Well, how do I say this? Um, you know that Elanor lady? Warden of the State? The woman who funds this place? She wouldn't be a very happy camper if one of our employees just quit, ya know? She's reeeally looking forward to meeting you and Kai at the dinner party soon..." Amy said.
"What are you trying to say?"
"Sooo, what I'm trying to say is... if you quit... Lady Elanor might... sorry, she will put a contract on your head."
"Oh," the half-elf said with a dumbfounded look on her face. "Oh," she repeated with a sense of realization.
