Chapter 9: Do All Things with Kindness

Author’s note: Sorry for the late release; some “problematic” barrels in life came rolling my way, so I had to spend some time clearing over them. Anyways, this episode was sponsored by Dominique D! One more queue to go…

Host’s note: Donation disabled and this is a rehost by a reader, not the author. Last update here until tomorrow… which is in 20 minutes for me hahaha.

After leaving the Azure Sky Auction House, Jin Xia had a wide smile underneath his Asura Fox Mask. With a huge sum of money under his belt, he could now enjoy the city’s life as he pleased!

While Jin Xia walked down the street, he was not worry about if any of the people within the auction site might try to investigate him. For a person who’s able to pull out a Jade-grade item for auction was by no means someone with a low status. No one would want to take the chance and risk offending such a figure by rudely investigating them. It was not worth the consequences.

A black-cloaked figure with a fox mask could be seen quickly entering into a hidden alley. Moments later, a handsome youth in blue clothes stepped out from the dark alley. No one noticed as the youth easily blended in with the streaming crowds of people.

As Jin Xia played around the city and consecutively ate at several restaurants, the sun quickly went down to sleep. The day was nearly over. Right now, inside his Space bag, there was still 4,949,995 Crystal Coins left after spending them on the highest luxury dishes he could find in Tian City.

Noticing that the sky had become orange, Jin Xia, who was holding a severed beef in his hand, decided it was time to head home. He had ate a satisfying amount today. He had never felt so free and relaxed while being in the Mortal Domain without having to worry about the Jade Emperor suddenly summoning him.

Walking through the now-quiet street, just as he was a few yards away from the Jin mansion, two silhouettes stepped towards him from out the shadow. It was two young males, one wearing a green clothing and the other one wearing a light brown chang pao. While both had an average identical appearance, each one held an arrogant expression on their face as they faced Jin Xia.

Meanwhile, the latter had already noticed the duo hiding in the shadow. But he did not bother with them as he just wanted to head home. Yet, the two men had actually confronted Jin Xia when you was almost home. This irritated him a bit, as Jin Xia disliked people obstructing his way, be it metaphorically or literally.

Moreover, Jin Xia recognized the two. They were his Jin clansmen, Jin Dong with the green clothes and Jin Rong who was in light brown. They were twins, who were from the branch families. They were often at loggerheads with Jin Xia, seemingly unable to go a day without bringing trouble to the previous host.

With an annoyed expression, Jin Xia asked, “What do you want?”

“Hmph! Jin Xia you trash, even now as a cripple you still dare to be so bold before us two brothers!”

The one in green chang pao named Jin Dong, who was the older one of the twins, had spoken first in response.

Jin Xia snorted as he looked at the twins, “Cut the crap and go to the main point already.”

“You!..”, Jin Rong, the one in light brown clothes, gritted his teeth as he furiously pointed at Jin Xia. “Jin Xia, don’t forget that you are now a cripple without any martial arts foundation. You are now not a match for us two brothers who are in Wudan 1st stage! And don’t even count on your family. The main family is practically powerless before our branch families. Your family is doomed to be kicked out sooner or later!”

Jin Xia remained calmed as he turned to face Jin Rong and uttered a soft phrase.

“So what?”

Jin Rong’s eyes immediately went red, but before he could lash out at Jin Xia an arm stretched out to stop him. It was Jin Dong.

“Hehe, you do not have to act tough in front of us brothers, Jin Xia. We know you are scared. But don’t worry, Big Brother Jin Feng Hao had ordered us to not touch you until the Jin’s family inner competition.”, Jin Dong sneered as he rubbed his chin in an arrogant manner.

“Is that all you wanted to tell me? If so, please scram. You’re blocking the way to my house.”, Jin Xia replied apathetically.

“Hmph! Let’s see you try keeping up that attitude when I challenge on the family stage!”, Jin Dong said as he glared at Jin Xia before swiftly turning around to leave.JinRong gave one last death stare at Jin Xia before following his older twin brother.

“*Sigh*…just what have this world come to. Even a mere Wudan 1st stage brat dares to challenge me…”, Jin Xia cried out bitterly in his heart before shaking his head and entering his yard.

Upon arriving at home, Jin Xia headed towards his room. When he opened his room’s door, Jin Xia immediately saw two heads swerve abruptly towards his direction. A middle aged man and woman was standing in Jin Xia’s room. There was an anxious expression on the two persons’ face.

“Ah! Xia’ Er, you’re safe! Thank goodness! We were beginning to worry that because of yesterday’s event and the shock, you were going to do something rash…”, the woman figure rushed over to Jin Xia and began inspecting his body for any injuries. She was talking about the previous Jin Xia’s crippling defeat at the hands of Jin Feng Hao.

“Mmm, mmm, as long as you are back home it’s fine, it’s fine. Don’t make your mother worry so much, Xia’ Er. A man must be able to bring a sense of security to his family. Not worry them.”, This time the middle aged man spoke as a relief expression replaced his previously strained one.

(Note: “Xia’Er” is an affectionate tone used to address Jin Xia. The “Er” means child.)

These two persons were precisely Jin Xia’s parent, Liu Dan and Jia Yue Bing.

Seeing how worried his ‘parents’ were, Jin Xia gave a faint smile before speaking.

“I apologize, mother, father. I went out today on a short notice because I wanted to calm my heart. Don’t worry, I am completely fine now. If there is nothing else, your filial son wish father and mother would depart early to bed and not harm their healthy for me any longer.”

“This…”, Jia Yue Bing’s eyes widened as she listened to her son speak. This was the first time that she had heard her son sound so courteous and sensible. The previous Jin Xia had always cursed and went on tirades when his mother had tried to comfort him, so it was rare that it was the other way around. This time, Jin Xia was actually comforting his mother!

Even Jin Liu Dan, who was next to her, slightly widened his eyes in shock. Was this really their son?

“A-…ahem! As long as Xia’Er is fine, let us not bother his rest now. Let us go, my dear wife.”, Liu Dan quickly reacted and took the initiative to gently wrap his arm around his wife’s shoulder as they departed from the room.

“Ah, yes, well then, be sure to take care of your health, Xia’Er! We will come visit again.”, Jia Yue Bing smiled as she was led out the room by her husband. The door closed with a light “kacha!” sound.

After his parents left, Jin Xia turned around and leaped onto his bed, landing in a cross-legged position.

“This Liu Dan and Jia Yue Bing are quite the caring and easy-going parents. Haha, their son was crippled yet they showed no signs of being depressed and instead, acted as if everything was fine. They truly do care for this ‘Jin Xia.’ Too bad the previous host was too blind and useless.”, Jin Xia thought as he entered a meditative state.

“I may not be the benevolent Buddha, but I do reward others who treat me well. In this lifetime, count this as your lucky star. I, Jin Xia, will make sure you both live a luxurious life a few days from now!”

In approximately two months, it will be the Jin Clan’s inner family competition. Jin Xia remembered his brief conversation with the Dong-Rong twins about the upcoming battle competition.

That appointed day will be the moment the world inside the Jin Clan gets flipped upside down.
