Chapter 3: WuDang

Host's note: I'm not the author. The author is Mochi and one his friends from Spiritualnovels.wordpress.com.

----------------------------------------

This sphere is one of the many dimensional worlds that reside in the Passage of Space and Time called WuDang, a world with a total population of 10 billion inhabitants.

In this kind of world, it is made up of roughly 40% habitable land, 50% water, and 10% undiscovered regions.

As it turns out, Jin Xia found that he is currently residing in one of the twelve major cities called Tian City, which was apart of the Tian Province in the Great Azure country. All of these were within the Eastern Moon Continent.

In a basic overview, there are a total of twelve provinces within the Great Azure country. The number of provinces differ by each country. Each province has a single major city, which was their capital.

But these major cities are ranked in accordance to their popularity and the amount of experts residing in their respective city.

The cities can be ranked as follows, from low to high: Lesser, Greater, or Noble city. Naturally, the higher ranking a city has, the more resources it would possess and the more strong cultivators it would have. The city’s popularity likewise also influences the popularity of its respective province. The city rankings are also used worldwide to classify cities in other countries as well as continents!

Tian City was classified as a Lesser city along with five other cities. Among the twelve major cities, only four are Greater cities while the last two can be ranked as Noble cities.

The city rankings are often stagnant, but could change overtime if there is a mass change to its overall composition.

As Jin Xia continued to examine his “old” memories, he quickly organized them in short segments in order to not overload his mind.

The host is a direct blood descendant of the Jin Clan, one of the four super powers in Tian City. The government in this city holds very miniscule power compared to the four major clans.

His father’s name is Jin Liu Dan, a cultivator at Wudan 6th stage, and his mother’s Jia Yue Bing, who’s at Wudan 4th stage. The original host, Jin Xia, was the second young master of the household.

The patriarch possessed no heirs whom the clan can address as the ‘first young master.’

Unwilling to give such title to the son of Liu Dan, with Liu Dan being the second in charge in the family, the patriarch had “reserved” the ‘first young master’ title in hopes he would one day bore an heir to receive this position. The patriarch is around 57 years old now.

Moreover, there are numerous families in the Jin Clan, some related directly by blood, while others not so much. Thus, inner conflicts often arise in the clan.

In the Jin Clan, the host’s father mainly handles the family affairs given by the patriarch, Jin Bao Lei. He did not possess any heirs

In fact, much of the responsibilities of a patriarch are often pushed onto Jin Liu Dan to complete, while Bao Lei usually spends his time in leisure. It could even be said that Jin Liu Dan was more like a patriarch than Bao Lei was.

Except, the external status between the two is like heaven and earth.

Although Jin Liu Dan may feel indignant by the patriarch’s actions, he could not go against the latter’s wish.

And in Jin Xia’s memory, the patriarch’s attitude towards Jin Xia’s family had always been sour, especially towards Jin Xia. Seeing this, Jin Xia concluded that it must be due to their descendant. After all, the patriarch is not a direct descendant of the Jin Clan, while Jin Xia’s family is.

Bao Lei was from one of the five branch families. It was once rumored that Bao Lei had used a despicable mean to win over the patriarch’s seat, but no one could be sure.

After Bao Lei’s ascension into the Clan Master seat, the main family of the Jin Clan have often been neglected, while the several branch families in the clan experienced a sudden rise in popularity and power.

At this point, the five branch families of the Jin Clan held more power than even the main Xia family.

On the other hand, in the Jin Clan there was apparently a genius named Feng Hao. He was a part of the branch families, and was highly valued by the clan for his talent in cultivation, having reached Wudan 4th stage at the age of 16, the same age as the current Jin Xia. But the latter’s cultivation was only at the 2nd stage of Wudan.

The former host was previously crippled by this Feng Hao. And as Jin Xia discovered in his memory, it was because the host’s arrogant attitude that instigated Jin Feng Hao, who was even more arrogant than him. The argument had started when Jin Xia had purposely provoked Feng Hao in the family yard, in hopes of defeating the genius to win over the Jin Clan.

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

But as a result, not only did he fail to accomplish his goal, he was even crippled.

Although Wudan 4th stage is nothing in Jin Xia’s eyes, one have to know that to advance even one stage would require an immense amount of time. Some may even be stuck at Wudan stage one for their entire life, so the difficulty of cultivating can be somewhat imagined.

While the previous Jin Xia’s cultivation was pretty decent already in this world, compared to Feng Hao, it was truly lacking quite a bit.

After probing a bit deeper into his mind, Jin Xia found that the cultivation standards of this world to be quite low.

In the world of WuDang, there is a total of 8 known realms of cultivation, each separated into 9 stage. They are known as follow, from low to high:

Wudan, Spiritual Dan, Xing Profound, Emperor, Heavenly Mortal, Saint Lord, Divine Cosmos, Supreme, True Immortal realm, and Primordial Realm.

To advance into another realm requires a strong comprehension ability and an abundant of resources. Only when these two prerequisites are met, would one be able to go far in their martial arts journey.

According to Jin Xia’s knowledge when he was a deity, one’s cultivation does not stop at the Immortal Realm. There are other higher realms above the 10th realm, such as the Mystical realm, Nether realm, and even the legendary God realm, etc.

But the fact that no one was able to go beyond Primordial realm can be attributed to this world’s lack of resource. Having visited quite a few dimensional worlds in his life as a great deity, Jin Xia had begun to differentiate a world’s “class” based on the number of known realms in that world.

Classifying a world’s quality into 3 simple ranks: first-rank, second-rank, and third-rank, Jin Xia had come to determine that this world is at best a Second-rank world. Without an abundance of high quality resources, it would not be possible to cultivate to a higher realm unless that person is a godly genius, but even then the probability is nearly zero. In other words, the total known realms known in a world is a testament of its quality and quantity of resources.

After all, in a First-rank world, there were at least 12 known realms. Comparing these other worlds to WuDang, they’re simply like giants to a little child. It was not even possible to compare them in the first place.

And in the Jin Clan, it seems the strongest cultivator, the family’s patriarch, was merely at Wudan 8th stage. Adding on to the overall weak strength of the Great Azure Country in comparison to other countries, no wonder Feng Hao could be valued so highly here. In this kind of place, perhaps even the weakest cultivator of a First-rank world may be hailed as world-class genius here!

Craaaacck!

A final, explosive cackle rang from within Jin Xia’s body. As the sound faded, Jin Xia’s body gave off a faint, yellow glow. His skin has become jade-like and his face has become shapely and symmetric. With his picturesque face, if the maid girl Xie Mei was here to see him, even she may temporarily be unable to recognize her own master!

After a few moments, Jin Xia, who was still seated on his bed with his feet cross, withdrew his conscious back into reality.

Woosh! Woosh!

Suddenly, Jin Xia’s eyes fluttered opened as golden lights beamed brightly from within. After a brief moment, the light quickly disappeared as Jin Xia’s eyes returned back to normal.

In the next moment, Jin Xia began to quickly scan over his body. After a while, Jin Xia a “hmph” in satisfaction. After the “body reconstruction”, all of Jin Xia’s meridians were opened, while his bones, muscles, and dantian capacity were greatly improved and strengthened.

In fact, JIn Xia had discovered that from the Twelve Dragon Transformation Pill, his cultivation had immediately jumped to Wudan 3rd stage from his initial empty cultivation after a successful refinement. That was one stage higher than the previous Jin Xia’s Wudan 2nd stage, and it was achieved in one go.

“But this is not enough…”

Jin Xia softly muttered under his breath. Although this world of WuDang may not have extremely tyrannical cultivators, it is still a Second-rank world, home to many high leveled cultivators. Compared to those powerful warriors, the current Jin Xia was simply like an ant; not even worth a speck of dust in their eyes.
