Marissa decided on a black leather skirt paired with a bright red crop top revealing her full-grown breasts. She didn't do anything much to her hair because honestly, she didn't need to as her hair was already curly and full of life. She did however put on some makeup which consisted of heavy eyeliner and a red lip that match the color of her top.
There was no doubt she was already beautiful and Ever thought she didn't need any of that makeup, but it made Marissa happy and she didn't want to ruin their friendship already by voicing her opinion.
Marissa changed into a completely different girl — style-wise — than what she saw earlier today. She went from a nerdy bookworm to some gothic party girl. Ever had a bad feeling about this party, but tried her best to be excited.
Ever was in her closet which was already filled with clothes trying to find something her style. She found a lacey, white dress that hung slightly off the shoulders, the dress came down to her mid-thigh which she thought was appropriate to her standards for a party. She decided to take out her braided hair which created long waves that flowed down her back.
"You look like a little angel!"
Ever turned around to see Marissa admiring her.
She felt her face blush, "Thanks. You look beautiful yourself."
Marissa chuckled, "I was hoping you were going to say hot, but thank you." Ever laughed with her and turned back towards her closet mirror.
"You want me to do your makeup? You don't have any on, of course, you don't need it, but it's just fun to do."
Ever looked at herself debating to try on some of her makeup, but seeing what Marissa had done to her face she thought she would pass, "I'm good actually. Maybe next time?"
"Yeah, for sure! You ready to go then?"
Ever nodded her head and Marissa smiled at her and put on some black, thigh-high boots while Ever slipped on some lace wedges she found.
Marissa linked an arm around Ever's, "Well, don't we look like an angel and a devil." Marissa laughed to herself as Ever smiled thinking — if only you knew.
Since the fraternity wasn't far from their dorm rooms, the girls decided to walk arms linked together. Marissa spent the whole time telling Ever about her life and how she met her boyfriend. Her smile stayed strong the whole time, which made Ever have doubts about her ability to pursue her towards her side.
Anxiety seeped through her engulfing her entire stomach and turning itself into one twisted mess. Ever took deep breaths to try to hide her nervousness not only from Marissa but from herself. A soft pounding of a bass entered their surroundings and as Marissa felt excitement, all Ever could feel was dread. All the time she spent at the Academy, learning about the different strategies on how to deal with demons, she never thought the day would come so soon since she knew for a fact she would meet one here — tonight.
Marissa's long monologue was blending into the sounds of the music as they moved towards the front door of the fraternity house. Ever looked around at the many boys and girls that crowded the outside porch, all had red solo cups in their hands, sipping the night away, their laughter intensifying the sound. Ever squeezed Marissa's arm tighter as to not lose her once they stepped into what was waiting for them inside.
The door opened and all Ever could see was a room filled with different colored lights that didn't help with the overall lighting. It was too dark to even make out anybody besides seeing the outlines of their bodies. Their sweat lingered around the room causing the temperature to be an uncomfortable warmth. Ever's breathe quickened once more as she felt out of place, her white dress lit her way through the piles of bodies and she could feel the eyes pulling away from their partners to watch her as she went with her arm linked tightly around Marissa's, guiding her towards some stairs. They made their way up passing by the many students making out as if they were in a classic '90s movie. Ever was then led into a room where a circle of people were sitting on the floor laughing while passing a glass container around.

Ever studied the beautiful glass design being passed into a guy's hands. He put one of the ends to his mouth, sparking up a flame to light up the small bowl that came out on the side of the figurine. Bubbles began to appear and pop, clouding the insides of the transparent glass. Then all of a sudden the bowl that was lit was pulled out and the smoke disappeared as quickly as it had formed, Ever watched as he sucked it all up with ease. He lowered the glass down and rose his head up in the air to blow out the smoke he consumed in his lungs. He lowered his head slowly still blowing out the remainder of what was left in him and stared right into Ever's eyes full of pure curiosity.
His eyes were dark, not only the appearance but in a way that if eyes could speak his words would be wicked. He passed the glass along the circle still staring at Ever, his eyes slowly sliding down from hers, running along her body. She could feel his gaze caressing her slowly, eating away at her that made her shudder slightly. He brought his attention back to her eyes and smirked. He then broke the attention to give it to a girl on his left, laughing with her as he placed a hand on her thigh soaking her in now. Ever knew instantly that this boy was the demon she would have to deal with — and he knew who she was too.
Marissa unlinked her arm from Ever, leaving her standing in front of the doorway. Her face was full of excitement as she tackled one of the guys sitting on the floor. Her boyfriend — Ever assumed — had light brown hair that was lighter than his tanned skin. Tattoos covered his muscular arms and although he was sitting down she could tell that he was tall. He grabbed Marissa's waist and pulled her down to him, kissing her lips. Ever felt slightly uncomfortable at the scene, so she looked away down at her feet, fiddling with her hands.
Marissa called to her bringing her attention back to the couple. She was now sitting on top of his lap looking happy as ever. She motioned for Ever to come to take a seat next to them and as she stepped around the formation she noticed the demon boy sitting right next to them, she met his eyes and he gave her another one of his menacing smirks scooting over to make room for her.
She gave him a fearful smile and could tell he was just eating her up that Ever started to question herself if she really could face a demon. Her doubts crowded her mind like a fog so thick you weren't able to see two feet in front of you.
She shook the thoughts out of her head as she wasn't going to let anyone down, including herself. Ever knew her heart and knew that nothing could ever make her a fallen angel, no matter what kind of demon was in her way. Ever took a seat down next to Marissa and the demon boy. She could feel the tension of their knees almost touching each other, but neither one of them moved.
"Ever, this is my boyfriend, Chase." Marissa hugged him even tighter and he looked down at her with what seemed to be just pure admiration for her.
Chase looked at Ever and pulled out a hand from Marissa's waist extending it out to shake Ever's hand, "Nice to meet you Ever. I like the name." He gave her a firm shake, complimented with a charming smile.
Ever pulled her hand away and brought it up to her hair, tucking a piece behind her ear, "Thanks. It's nice to meet you, Chase. Marissa was so excited to see you today."
"Was she now?" He pulled Marissa in closer and she let out a small giggle as he begin kissing her cheeks.
Marissa pulled gently away from him still giggling to herself, "Well, let me introduce you to the whole friend group!"
Marissa went around the circle introducing each member of her friends. Jay was almost the exact copy of Chase — tall, built well with many tattoos all over his arms, the only difference was he had blonde hair and blue eyes.
Bret was next — he was on the shorter side compared to the other guys and less built than them too, but he was sure funny. Bret had a great sense of humor that got the whole group laughing when it was his turn to be introduced. Ever felt something warm about him that made her feel like she could easily get him on her side.
The only girl besides, Marissa, was a girl named, Veronica. She was a shorter girl with long, pin-straight black hair and an olive skin tone. She was the girl that the demon boy was laughing with earlier. Ever assumed that they were probably a thing since demons loved playing with humans anyway.
Lastly, was the boy who she already knew so well. Their eyes met again and she could tell he was excited to finally introduce himself to an angel. His hair was black and was long enough to slightly cover one of his eyes. His eyes reminded her of the void that Ever had to walk into that was so black it seemed out of place — noticing hatred, agony, and pain within them. This demon was also very tall and he had some strength to him, his muscle was defined on his arms that were covered in tattoos. She also noticed a tattoo on his neck and she caught herself wondering just how many he had. He was also very much pale almost the same color as Ever making his dark features stand out more.
A smirk slowly pulled across his face as he extended his hand towards her, "Nice to meet you, Ever. I'm Blade."
