***** Vol.5 Chap.4 The conference room *****
While Frank was left waiting for Elijah to return with another guest, he took the time to inspect the ‘conference room’ that was constructed exactly like his ‘prison cell’ that he was in earlier. Or was that the reception room that he was placed before. He had no idea.
As before, there was no furniture anywhere in the room, no tables, no chairs, no refreshments, and most important of all, no coffee!
Nothing.
He stood, he sat on the floor, he walked around till he was tired of standing and sitting and walking. He had no idea how long he had to wait.
Mindlessly, he said aloud, “How about a chair and a table and a cup of coffee please?
Nothing.
He backed up and almost tripped. Turning around, he jumped! There in front of his eyes were a chair, a table, and a steaming hot cup of coffee.
This must be a trick or an illusion!
Cautiously he approached the table and touched it. It seems solid enough. He pushed down on the seat of the chair. It seemed capable of supporting weight. Still apprehensive, his thirst and his olfactory organ took over his caution. The steaming cup of coffee was just too hard to pass, especially when it had been days since he last had a cup of coffee.
Throwing all caution to the wind, he took a sip of the coffee. Ah! It was good with just enough creamer and sugar to his liking.

Gingerly, he sat down on the chair. He did not fall. Then for the next 15 minutes, he was enjoying his recliner and his coffee while wondering about this ‘conference room.’
Coffee was good, but that only whet his appetite for food. He thought for a minute, then said aloud. “I like to have some shrimp cocktail, a one and a half pounds lobster and an 8 oz filet mignon, rare…Please.”
This time, it took a few minutes, but what he ordered appeared on the table complete with silver ware, napkin, and a lobster bib. While the fruit basket provided earlier was good to tie him over. This is real food. He figured he probably had lots of time, so he took time to enjoy his meal.
He had no idea how long he had to wait. So, he thought he would pass the time with a nap.
“How about a bed to take a nap?”
As he stood up to walk around, the chair and table and everything on it disappeared.
“Yippee! No dishes to wash!” He exclaimed!
He turned around, a nice bed materialized in front of him. Not believing his eyes still, he went and pushed on the bed with his hand. Yup, it is soft. He sat down on the bed. It felt plush.
“Uh, a pillow and a blanket please?” he said aloud again unbelievingly.
There it was, a soft pillow and a blanket folded at the end of the bed.
He felt the blanket but was unable to identify what material it was made of. But that did not matter, the pillow was nice and soft and the blanket was warm. With all the excitement, he fell asleep quickly.
He was sound asleep until an alarm sounded in the room.
Expecting fire or some other atrocities, he jumped up and looked around. Everything was as peaceful and sterile as before.
The alarm sound like an alarm clock. He wondered.
“Dr. Abdulcizi,” a mechanical voice came on echoing from the walls. “Elijah sends this alert to inform you that he will be arriving in ten minutes.”
“Thank you?” He muttered, though unsure to whom or what he was speaking to.
After a minute or so to gather his wits, he stood up and said, “Remove bed and give me a leather recliner.”
No sooner did the words came out of his mouth and the bed with all its belongings began to disintegrate into thin air. He turned around and noticed that a leather recliner appeared at the corner of the room.
He walked over there and planted himself in the recliner.
Now who is this second person that Elijah is bringing?
