Elijah’s body made a stir.

“You are in a subterranean cavern about 10,000 feet below the surface. Directly above you is the Bermuda Triangle. You all will travel by the TEVE…”

“TEVE?”

“Short for TErrestrial VEhicle. The transparent sphere that I used to bring you here?”

“Oh, the bubble?”

“That thing?”

“Interesting.”

“Yes, the TEVE is an engineering marvel. I only know how to use it. As to how it works, I have not the faintest idea. I will program the TEVE to drop you off at your respective locations.”

“You said the TEVE can go through water?”

“Yes, very well.”

“Can you program the TEVE to negotiate the underwater caverns and bring me as close to the back door of the compound as possible?”

“I don’t think it can drop you in front of the back door, but it can carry you at least to sea level where the underground stream flows out. From there, you will have to hike inside the cavern.”

“Fair enough. I can do that.”

“What equipment do you need?” Elijah asked.

“A couple of AK-47, grenades, plastic explosives...” Kristin said.

“I don’t think I can provide any weapons or explosives.”

“Too bad.”

“I just need my laptop and some climbing equipment like ropes, compass, and flashlights.”

“I would need some metal cutters to get through locks and fences.” May-Ling said.

“Do I need any diving gear?”

“No, the TEVE will get you above the sea level?”

“Then I will need some torches or lanterns. Can you provide anything that I can use to defend myself?”

“Sorry.”

There was another brief silence as each reviewed their task and requested items that they thought they would need.

“I will provide a communication device so that you can communicate with each other. The device will fit inside your ear. To activate the device, just speak to it. It functions like a miniature wireless telephone.”

“Incredible.”

“Right now, it is evening over there in Glybiana. I suggest that we take a rest for a few hours and we will begin our mission then.”

“Sounds good.”

“In the meantime, I will make sure everything you wanted is loaded on the TEVE. Have a good rest.”

Elijah stood up and the rest followed.

They each went back to their room. It seemed that as soon as they lay down on their beds, they fell asleep immediately.
