***** Vol.5 Chap.19 Occupant in Room C *****
Kristin walked into her room and surveyed the room. There was a nice comfortable bed on one side of the room. It was soft and inviting. On the other side of the room were a table and a chair. There was a fruit basket on the table. The other two walls were bare.
She lay down on the bed and tried to sleep, but the images of the underwater cavern, the cubicle, the conference room, and the discussion haunted her when she closed her eyes. After turning and tossing for a few moments, she decided to get something to eat. She already had her fill of fruits for the day and would like a nice T-bone steak.
Speaking aloud, “I want a 16-ounce T-bone with A-1 Steak sauce, a tossed green salad, and a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. For dessert, a slice of key-lime pie with ice cream on top.” She felt rather awkward speaking to thin air like this.
A thought materialized in her head: how do you want the steak cooked?
Medium rare.
She answered in her thoughts. She was not expecting anything to happen and was quite dumbfounded when the food, hot and steaming, and the silverware materialized in front of her, cooked to perfection as ordered. She sat down and enjoyed her meal. When she was done, she felt a little better about her environment, though she still had not decided whether this was hell or heaven.
She thought she would think about the problem and so she called up the layout of the Lab in Glybiana and studied the terrain. One of her walls in the room lit up just like the conference room. She immediately thought of a frontal assault. She knew that it would be costly and dangerous.
The narrative has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the infringement.
Then she remembered Elijah’s rule of engagement knowing that the rest of the team would never go for the assault idea. Perhaps she could hide in the supplies truck and gain entrance into the compound. She did that once and was able to smuggle on board the Mayflower. Then she could blow up the lab in the middle of the night.
If she could not gain entrance into the lab, she would put sleeping gas into the air intake. Then when everyone is asleep, she would march in unhindered and took the samples. That would be a safe and viable option with no contact with the people if they were all asleep.
After formulating her plans, she decided to see what else she could see from her wall video show. She asked the display to show her apartment. She wanted to check on her fish. They were swimming quite happily in their little world without a worry and without a care. She knew that George would take good care of them. Somehow watching her aquarium in her apartment had calmed her down a little bit. She thought there were some good things happening on this planet earth.
Then she thought of the dolphins, in particular, her tagged dolphins. The wall image changed and showed a pair of dolphins swimming side by side near the Bermuda Triangle. She could see her DRDs still attached to them. They were frolicking in the vast ocean freely and happily singing to one another.
“Translate.”
Subtitles began to appear on the wall. The dolphins were talking to one another admiring the beautiful sunshine and the warm water all around them. Then they began to hum and sing songs to one another. They were so carefree.
Kristin wished so much to join them in their life journey. In fact, Kristin got jealous of her dolphins. What a species she had here. They were cheerful. They had no worries. They had no predators. They had an ideal environment. The more Kristin watched them, the more Kristin had the urge to save them from the impending doom.
She may not care much about the human species, but she certainly wanted to see her dolphins inhabiting the earth. If the human species failed the planet, she wanted her dolphins to succeed and inhabit the earth.
With such a happy thought and being too elated to rest, she strolled to Room A.
