The Cloaked Fallen Chapter 7

Chapter 7: bottleneck

After a year of eating the hearts of early first realm beasts Sechs had reached the peak of his previous life. But this would not be enough for him to survive in this new much more dangerous world.

The only thing that slightly irked him was that his appearance didn’t change much, to others he still looked like a small, thin, and frail boy. However this also had som advantages, if an enemy underestimated him killing them would be much simpler.

Having reached the age of nine he was told a couple of things by his mother in regards to the clan, including the fact that he would have to fight a savage beast when he turned fifteen. For him this would be a simple matter.

In just one year he recovered his strength from his former life and if he was given six more reaching the peak of the mortal realm should not be difficult. Other than his improvement he also helped Nixie with more runes, her runes where almost the same color as her snow white skin and the only clearly discernible ones were the five on her back.

The patterns however were not letter like runes and instead looked like lovely swirls of ice that grew with each addition of a rune. Seeing as how she needed help with her runes Sechs had a slight worry that he would not be able to produce the same effect when he used his three techniques simultaneously.

Having eaten two hearts a day also gave Sechs a greater appreciation for the power of savage beasts as it had taken him at least ten years of constant killing and devouring to reach the strength he had now.

With the use of the pure energy Sechs now made full use of the [Six winged angel] and [Undead King] techniques allocating all the energy he gathered to the two techniques evenly.

The [Heart devouring] technique was only a method of gathering pure energy and would slowly disperse it through out the body but with such great body refining techniques such as the [Undead King] technique he didn't have to patiently wait for it to slowly course through his body.

As for becoming an aura warrior although he understood it to an extent he did not have a solid way to reach the aura realm while at it strongest form.

For this he decided to wait until he could roam about freely and find a powerful school, sect, clan, or tribe he could join in order to receive the best aura warrior cultivation techniques. For this reason he also instructed Nixie not to proceed in the direction of becoming an aura warrior.

‘Now it's time I started to practice fighting techniques, Nixie has already chosen to follow the path of the sword but I don't have any particular weapon I like.’

Thinking this Sechs crafted a variety of weapons swords of different lengths, spears, war hammers, maces, bows, and daggers. Previously he only practiced his hand to hand combat techniques but one could not fight everything empty handed, some beasts had hides as tough as steel and a person would need a greater weapon in order to kill it.

Having crafted all the weapons he began picking them up one by one and began to perfect their use. Outside the tent Lumi could see her son picking up ever weapon he crafted out of wood and use them as if they were an extension of his own arm.

“Good although he still looks somewhat week his real strength is already at the early mortal realm.”

When she saw that she no longer had to worry about him and next year he would be able to name himself all she could feel was joy, her other children were also her biggest pride but she never worried as much for one as much as she did for Sixth.

That was because all her children were exceptionally strong and capable of looking out for themselves at the age of twelve, and even before then no one would dare look at them in scorn as they were the brute future of the tribe.

And now with the improved [Ragging Mammoth] technique they were on their way to becoming peak aura warriors, with a little luck and some insights they might even reach the artifact realm. Leaving she went to go find her husband and inform him of the good news when she stumbled across Nixie.

Having turned nine she already had the appearance of a lively young girl at the age of fourteen, from her conjectures it was due to the techniques she trained in.

In the tribe she was considered a beautiful treasure that all parents wanted for their sons, those of the age between sixteen and eighteen would constantly watch her and send their parents to ask the head butcher for her.

But all were rejected completely by her before her father eve had a chance to speak, even one of her own sons made a foolhardy attempt to impress her. Others believed that she was being stubborn and wished to marry into the highest ranks but they didn’t have the information that Lumi was privy to.

Despite her fairy like delicate appearance she would most likely be the strongest in her generation from the few things that Lumi was able to pry out from Tekone even a top mortal realm aura warrior would fall to her blade.

What made Lumi laugh even more on the inside was that her son had won her about a year ago without knowing, after half a year of teasing Nixie about her relationship with Sixth she found out about the runes.

“Nixie come here, are you headed to your husband’s house?” Her teasing had worked and Nixie’s face turned slightly red, as Nixie grew her reactions to teasing lessened but that was only on the outside Lumi knew what her real feelings were and how to poke her in those sensitive areas to get some fun reactions.

“Shaman Lumi, I am not yet married and will only do so after my partner and I have reached an appropriate age.”

“Ah but you also have so many suitors who want you now they may grow rather impatient and try something if you don't announce something quick.” This was actually a worrying matter for Lumi as some of the more spoiled children who desired Nixie have already made cases of them deserving her for their excellence and contribution to the tribe.

The only thing that kept them back was her husband Glyn who had given a stern warning to the older generation not to get involved.

“humph let them come I'll let them have a taste of what true fear is.” In reality she did have little to fear as only someone of the aura realm could subdue her even a peak mortal real cultivator would not be able to stop her from escaping unless he or she was prepared to pay a great price.

Having only seven runes she should be considered an early first realm runic warrior but she already had the strength to fight off a top first real cultivator.

“Haha good and tell my son not to over work himself, although he hasn’t gotten any sicker his complexion is still bad and he is still rather thin so he shouldn’t over exert himself.” Today Nixie felt pure joy and bliss as her grandfather was coming back home for a time, normally he stayed at the edges of the tribe in order to defend against any savage beast that attacked.

Now that her whole family would be assembled she would show them her true power and tell them about her engagement to Sixth, her family was considered small as her dad only married one wife and she was their only child.

Normally a family in a tribe would consist of at least sic or seven individuals but her father devoted his whole into his profession and would not have time for a large family but with a smaller one it would be simple to spend an adequate amount of time with his wife and daughter. As she walked she heard a small commotion and decided to take a look.

“You trash what have you done to Nixie that she refuses my big brother, I've seen her go into your tent multiple times.”

“Yea tell us what dirty tricks you used to get your filthy hands on her!”

“The tribe doesn’t except the week and the strong make the rules, we are the strong and we say that she doesn’t belong to you.”

Seeing the children they were almost the same ones who ganged up on her some years ago. The leader of the boys was was the same large boy who Sixth had brought down in one hit previously.

“Then the answer is simple if those are the rules, she can make her own choices.”

Hearing that she smiled taking that as a cue that she would be allowed to revile her strength and show that she was the strong one and could make her own decisions. But as she got closer she was stope by Tekone.

“The young master has stated that he would be able to deal with this on his own.”

Hearing Tekone speak Nixie was confused, in all her time with Sixth although he had grown healthy he never cultivated in any technique or trained any fighting arts. So how was he going to beat a group of children who had already entered the early mortal realm.

“She isn't able to cultivate he tribe’s technique even if she does look better than the average girl she isn't strong and cannot refuse to marry my brother he has already reached the top mortal realm and will soon become an aura warrior, in the tribe his talent is the greatest in his generation so he can do whatever he wants with who ever he want.”

Sechs sighed looking at the children they really matured to quickly in the savage lands, no child at the age of nine would be thinking of beating another so that his older brother could have his way with a girl.

“Then stop this pointless rambling and come I have things to do.”

Seeing his unfazed demeanor the other children were agitated as they felt they were being looked down on by someone weaker.

“Four years ago you beat me but I've been cultivating since then and today I'll break all your bones!”

With a load roar the large boy who towered over Sechs by at least two heads charged. Seeing the simple charge Sechs jumped over the child while flipping in the air when he was just above the head of the boys who’s name he never learned Sechs’ heal landed a solid blow on the child’s head and knocked him out completely.

The other children were now wary of Sechs but did not disperse immediately like the first time when they were five.

“There are more of us charge together.”

Seeing the wave of children rushing at him Sechs shook his head and moved forward throwing out casual punches as he dodged anything that came his way.

To others he seemed to be taking a stroll maids the chaotic charge of children while casually swinging his hands but after a couple of seconds all the children were on the floor groaning in pain while he stood triumphant against them.

Sechs did not stay for long and continued thinking as he walked.

‘I've reached the bottleneck and will need to store energy in order to brake through to the five runic warrior realm. For now I can't make any progress with any techniques so I will continue storing energy while practicing combat arts.’

From afar Glyn looked on at his son feeling proud, previous to this incident he could only feel that his son would die at the hands a a weak savage beast.

Even though he contributed the new [Ragging Mammoth] technique the clan would not recognize that as talent only when one could fight and defeat his opponents would one gain recognition. And today his son stood against multiple enemies and won without so much as breaking a sweat.
