Chapter 4: [Ice Jade Blade]
Nixie left the test feeling depressed. She was the daughter of the head butcher but that was not the path she desired. She wanted to be like her grandfather an aura warrior. All her life she had been told stories by her grandfather about people who reached realms far beyond that of what the Raging Mammoth Tribe was capable of.
Her dream was to lead her family out of the savage lands and into greater places where they wouldn’t have to constantly move from fear of attracting the attention of savage beasts. Prior to today she had always boasted that she would be the strongest warrior and leave the savage lands.
But all her dreams were shattered when the elder told her that she had a water elemental affinity. Her mother knowing how devastated she was after the test tried various ways to cheer her up but had little success.
Nixie decided to take a walk and hopefully clear her head. ‘Ahhhhh’ in her head she could do nothing but scream away her depression. Around the time when she was at her lowest, Saill the daughter of her uncle came with a group of children.
The two girls had never gotten along and some arguments even came to physical blows. Being surrounded by children Nixie had no way to escape the encirclement.
While the children around her kept calling her a failure she began to crumble under the the thought that everything she had ever dreamed about would never come to be. It was then when a soft voice called out.
“Stop this pointless mockery.” Although the voice was soft and somewhat weak everyone could clearly hear it as they stopped. Looking towards the one who spoke Nixie was surprised as it was the sickly son of the Shaman Lumi.
He was the one who had the origin element, from what she knew some with the origin element would be able to become powerful figures. She looked at him with a bit of envy, although his chances were astronomically low he could still become an aura warrior unlike her.
“Leave her alone and disperse.” The young boy had a commanding tone which left no room for arguments, some of the other children even subconsciously stepped back opening a path for Nixie. But some of the leading children would not back down so easily.
“You can’t tell us what to do. We will be warriors that protect the tribe and you will only be a burden that will live because of your mom.” Although nixie hated to agree with them, in her mind the children were right the young boy in front of her had little chance to grow even now he looked like he was too sick to be walking around.
In the tribe the strong made the rules even the chief could be replaced if a stronger individual surfaced so it would be impossible for the sickly boy in front of her to hold match authority.
“Fine then why don't I show you why I can “tell you what to do.” Come” seeing this sickly boy provoke the children into a fight Nixie wasn't the only on surprised but the other children were quick to accept the challenge.
Nixie wanted to fight instead of the sickly boy but had no chance, currently none of them had begun to cultivate so all their strengths were more or less the same the only difference being who was better at taking a hit so she had some confidence in being able to fight off some of the children.
But there was apparently no need to worry as the first boy who reached the sickly boy quickly fell to the floor unconscious, the boy that fell was the son of a guard and at least half a head taller than the sickly boy but he fell to the floor none the less.
The rest of the children stopped their charge at the sickly boy from fear of what he might do to them, they were children not brave warriors when they saw one of their biggest companions fall they would naturally back down.
“So what you can beat some of us now, that won't last long we will become strong warriors and you will still be weak and frail.” Saill said her piece and left with the rest of the children following her while dragging the boy who had fallen to the floor.
Nixie couldn’t believe this development and just sat dumbfounded for a while before finally coming to her senses.
“Thank you for helping me. I'm Nixie daughter of the head butcher.”
“No problem, I'm Sixth. Did you want to become a warrior?” The subject was still a sore spot for her as this was exactly what she wanted to avoid thinking about but he had just helped her so answering a couple questions would be fine.
“Yea but now that not going to happen. You saw during the test I have a water elemental affinity.” Nixie looked Sixth wondering why he wanted to know about her.
“Good that's perfect.” Hearing him speak she wanted to beat him to a bloody pulp, how was her not being able to become a warrior perfect.
“I came up with a water element cultivation technique and although I can't guarantee that it would be one hundred percent successful it will be better than nothing.” Nixie’s eyes went wide, he created a water element cultivation technique?, even Sixth’s attendant’s eyes went wide looking at him.
“Really!?” she exclaimed in shock. Sixth just smiled and nodded.
“But you have to promise not to tell anyone about it and cultivate it secretly, you can only tell your immediate family. And you can't share the details about the cultivation technique with anyone under any circumstances.” All the conditions seemed perfect for her if she could increase her strength and fight savage beasts then even if she had to wait a while to reveal her strength would it matter.
“Okay I promise.”
“Okay first can you read?”
“Yes” from a young age Nixie wanted to be a warrior and to become one she would have to read the tribe’s cultivation manual so for the last two years she worked hard on being able to read and although her proficiency wasn’t great she would be able to read the cultivation technique.
“Good then follow me to my tent, I'll write down the cultivation technique and help with any parts you don't understand after you memorize it completely we’ll destroy the written version so that no one can steal it.”

Sechs walked back to his tent with Tekone and Nixie feeling happy. As for taking care of a couple of kids, even with a weaker body he had much more fighting experience and knew the best places to strike a person. In helping Nixie he would be closer to accomplishing his goals.
First he would be able to see the difference in potential of the martial arts manuals from earth and the ones from the savage lands and second if Nixie told her parents the he helped her they might let him kill a few beasts and take their hearts.
From what he knew the people of the tribe didn’t put any special meaning to the organs of a beast and looked at them as simple meat.
Inside the tent Sechs asked Tekone to get four things for him some animal skins to write down the [Ice Jade Blade] technique, writing utensils, a large wooden stick, and a knife to shape the wooden stick into an appropriate blade for training in the technique.
When Tekone left to gather what he asked for Sechs began to verbally teach Nixie the [Ice Jade Blade] technique. The technique consisted of four parts, the first part is what he intended to teach Nixie for now it was the process of tempering the body with ice elemental energy.
“First follow the instructions I have given you then we will start on the sword forms when you get the hang of this part and I have completed a wooded sword for you.” Looking at Nixie, Sechs wondered what the difference between the cultivation techniques of the tribe would have offered her if she didn’t have a water elemental affinity and the technique he was teaching her.
“Okay then I will continue and practice gathering water elemental energy and turning it into the ice element.” This was the first part of the first step of the [Ice Jade Blade] technique, being able to turn the water element into the ice element.
Ice and water were the same thing the difference lied in the movement of molecules following this thought the [Ice Jade Blade]’s fist step was to slow down the movement of the energy until it became ice and began freezing the water elemental energy around it.
Nodding at Nixie's determination Sechs sat and began meditating without elemental energy all he could practice was the [Six Winged Angel] technique to strengthen his mind and soul.
Sechs thought about passing on this technique to Nixie as well but decided against it thinking that with some time he could modify it to integrate the ice element.
When Tekone returned Sechs thanked her and immediately began writing down the information on the [Ice Jade Blade] technique and drawing all the sword forms for the first part.
The sword forms served two purposes one was to build a foundation for the next level of sword arts in the later parts of the technique the second was to tire out a person and make their body thirst for energy which would come in the form of ice elemental energy.
Recalling his previous thoughts Sechs asked for one thing, a copy of the tribe’s [Raging Mammoth] technique to compare it to his own techniques.
“Young master I will have to ask Shaman Lumi for the technique as I am not allowed to take a copy.”
“That's fine please ask mother for it.” Tekone left once more and Sechs began working on a wooden sword for Nixie according to the details of the [Ice Jade Blade] technique. For the next five days Nixie continued to have no success with transforming the water element into ice.
“Think of it in small pieces slow them down but not just their movement, slow the energy in it’s entirety Then allow that frozen piece to freeze the rest of the elemental energy you gathered.” Finally nixie was able to gain some insight into the freezing of water elemental energy and slowly converted very thing she gathered into ice elemental energy.
But she wasn’t able to take in any of the energy as her body would not withstand it without tiring herself out first. Seeing her accomplishment Sechs smiled.
“Here take this sword and preform all the sword stances repeatedly until you have perfected them or fall from exhaustion.” Saying this he handed Nixie a double edged straight sword with a three foot long blade and no guard. Nixie was ecstatic, for the last five days she worked hard on transforming the water element and after her success she would be able to start practicing the sword arts.
What she was given was a way to reach her goals from Sixth with him never asking her anything in return. The only thing that annoyed her was that her parents didn’t have much faith in a technique that a young boy made and she was now made to help her dad in butchering small savage beasts that were brought up as live sock.
“Nixie for your house work do you help your father?” Just as she was thinking about it sixth seemed to be able to read her mind.
“Yea if I could finish faster than I would have more time to cultivate with you but I don't.” She sighed cultivating would go slowly as she was just five and her body would not be able to handle the strain if she cultivated at full force. At most if she regulated her cultivation to the more extreme points she would be able to enter the early stage of the mortal realm by the time she was ten.
The mortal realm was divided into four stages early, middle, top, and peak. An early stage mortal realm warrior would be able to lift 300 pounds and move extremely fast, the mortal realm focused on training the body.
After one reached the peak of the mortal realm he or she would decide to follow the path of an aura warrior of a shaman.
A shaman would focus on the manipulation and application of elemental energy in its raw form while an aura warrior would convert it into an aura to cover themselves in elemental energy and strengthen themselves or use it to excite martial techniques.
“Although I can't do much or for a long time I can help you finish a bit faster.” Hearing him say that Nixie was delighted.
“Okay I'll tell my father that you'll help me with some of my work and then we can come back here and continue training.”
