Chapter 3: Head butcher? Perfect
Having rested Sechs now began looking through the [Savage Beast Encyclopedia]. The beasts in this book were only the ones that the Raging Mammoth Tribe knew about but even then it contained knowledge of hundreds of beasts.
Having read the first couple of pages Sechs now had a general understanding of beasts. Savage beasts were also divided into five realms but we're not given a specific name simply being known as first realm, second realm, third realm, fourth realm, and fifth realm.
The other important thing he found out was that the runes a shaman engraved onto a person were slight variations of runes savage beast were born with in their bones.
According to Tekone the founder of the raging mammoth tribe was a shaman who killed a large earthen mammoth and inscribed a slightly changed version of the runes on the mammoth’s bones onto his younger brother who was an earth aura warrior. Together they were able to survive in the savage lands and start a tribe.
The runes on Tekone were also a variation of the earthen mammoth’s bone runes. The reason for the need in variations was the placement of the runes, savage beasts were born with the runes on their bones, humans on the other hand would engrave the runes onto the surface of their skin because their bodies would not be able to bare having the runes on their bones.
Having spent a few weeks memorizing the encyclopedia Sechs came to a conclusion about the beasts in the savage lands, these beasts would not exceed the second realm and for some reason any beast that reached the third realm would disappear.
Thinking about it that meant that his tribe’s strongest warrior would only have reached second realm of their path be it shaman, runic warrior, or aura warrior. This sparked a different idea in his mind, how different were the cultivation manuals he took from the facility and what the tribe had available.
The warriors in the tribe were stronger than he had ever been, but earth lacked the vast amounts of elemental energy so none of the martial arts manuals or techniques could reach their full potential.
Sechs had taken four useful martial arts manuals from the facility, a manual would consist of everything from cultivation techniques to movement techniques that would cooperate with each other to help in the growth of a martial artist, these four were from different elements.
The [Ice Jade Blade] manual of the water element, [Blaze Wolf] manual of the fire element, [Six Winged Angel] which did not corespondent to an element but was to temper ones heart and soul, and the [Undead King] manual which consisted of methods to temper one’s body.
His [Heart Devouring] technique on the other hand would be considered a cultivation technique and not a full manual. In his previous life aside from the [Heart Devouring] technique Sechs also trained in [Six Winged Angel] technique and the [Undead King] technique, these were what allowed him to live for ten years after being poisoned.

Sechs sat in his tent meditating. Today he would go see an elder of the Raging Mammoth tribe to determine his future. According to what he heard from Tekone, he would be tested on his potential to be either a shaman, runic warrior, or an aura warrior and whether or not he had an elemental affinity.
His tribe only had one earth element technique but he had more than enough considering the martial arts manuals he took from the facility. Five other children would be joining him, those five children were the one’s born in the same month he was.
These children were the sons and daughters of higher ranked members of the tribe. Standing up he headed towards his mother’s tent. His mother looked at him with worry in her eyes when she saw Sechs he was skinny, short, and had unhealthy pale skin from how things were progressing he would not be able to live past fifteen.
“Sixth today you will test your potential, with some luck you could even become an aura warrior.” Sechs looked at his mother seeing the concern in her eyes he couldn’t help but feel moved.
“Mother don’t worry even if I don’t have any luck, I will become strong through hard work.” Lumi smiled, her son might not have a strong body but his intelligence and heart were unmatched, that would be a great benefit to him in becoming a powerful figure one day. The two walked towards a large tent not to far from Lumi’s.
Today Tekone would not be following Sechs as he was being accompanied by his mother. Inside the tent were eleven people. Five children and six adults, two of the children were female and three were male. The adults were each child's mother and the elder who would record the outcome of the tests for the tribe.
“With shaman Lumi and her son here we can begin.” The elder began speaking and pointed towards a table with a clear square crystal resting on top.
“This will be a quick and easy test just place your hand on the crystal and that will tell us if you have an elemental affinity of not. It will change color if you have an elemental affinity. Yellow will represent earth, red fire, blue water, green wind, purple lightning, and white origin.”
All the children looked at the crystal with a mix of fear and excitement. If they had an affinity for the earth element they would have the full support of the tribe in cultivation, however if they had any other affinity the tribe did not posses a way for them to cultivate.
“Now that will be second test, first we will test your potential as a shaman, runic warrior, or aura warrior. This will be simple I will send some elemental energy into you and if you are able to manipulate or retain it you can choose your path as a shaman or aura warrior, after you have completed the mortal realm of the five realms of power. If you can not then you still have the option to become a runic warrior.”
This time not only did the children look excited but also their mothers, as a parent who wouldn't want their child to have a promising future.

“Okay there’s only five of you, hurry and line up in front of me and I'll begin.” Sechs made his way slowly to the elder while all the other children ran as fast as their little legs could move.
The first three to arrive were the other boys following them were two girls and the last to arrive was Sechs. The Elder placed his had on the head of the first child to arrive in front of him. “Runic warrior.”
The child looked somewhat disappointed while walking back to his mother. The Second and third boys both had their choice of being a shaman or an aura warrior. The next to go up were the two girls, they were both told that they had the choice to be whatever they desired but as the two walked to their mothers they seemed to glare at each other.
As Sechs moved in front of the elder, Lumi clenched her fists, if he could become an aura warrior and train in the [Raging Mammoth] technique he would have a chance to overcome his frail body.
The elder looked at the sickly boy in front of him and sighed knowing that this child would not be able to do much in his life.
Feeling earth elemental energy rush into him Sechs quickly guided it into his stomach and began circulating it according to the [Heart Devouring] technique.
Normally he would have to eat a heart and take the elemental energy stored in it to strengthen himself but if someone directly put elemental energy into him without causing him harm, he would be able to store it in his stomach to be digested later. The elder looked wide eyed at Sechs then at Lumi.
“This child is an exceptional talent. Shaman Lumi he has completely taken in my elemental energy the chance that this boy will be a remarkable aura warrior is high.” Lumi had a radiant smile hearing the words of the elder, with this she wouldn’t have to worry about his future in the tribe as long as he didn’t have any elemental affinity.
Sechs walked back to his mother while circulating and digesting the elemental energy. What Sechs desired was not the earth elemental energy but pure energy and for that he would most likely lose at least seventy percent of the energy in getting rid of the earth element portion.
“Next all of you walk to the crystal and place your hand on it one at a time.” The children didn’t care much for the previous praise that Sechs received and immediately ran to the crystal. The first four children that went up to the crystal left with disappointed faces they as they didn’t have an earth elemental affinity.
But when the fifth touched the crystal it finally lit up, sadly for the girl it changed to a blue color, the Raging Mammoth tribe didn’t have any cultivation techniques or runes for the water element making it impossible for the girl to cultivate in the tribe.
While she walked back to her mother the girl looked as if the world had just ended, while the other girl had a triumphant smile plastered on her face. Seeing this Sechs shook his head, thinking that children could be rather mean at times.
Placing his hands on the crystal an immediate reaction occurred, it turned white. This signified the origin element and would mean that if he reached the second realm in cultivation he would manifest a random ability and he would have to come up with a cultivation technique of his own if he wanted to become an aura warrior.
The elder looked somewhat disappointed as he had some hopes for Sechs but this wasn’t the first time something like this happened and it wouldn’t be the last. Out of the six children that underwent the test three had good prospects while the other three ran into some form of bad luck.
Sechs however wasn’t bothered by any of this as he knew other cultivation techniques. His only dilemma was how he would kill and eat the hearts of various creatures.
His first idea was to tell his mother that he stumbled upon a technique but that wouldn’t make much sense and he had no desire to share his technique with the rest of the clan that looked at him as if he were walking sin.
The only people he felt good will towards were Tekone and his mother. Walking back to his tent Sechs continued to refine the earth elemental energy silently and taking the portions that became pure energy and merged it into his own heart.
His mother took his silence as worry and tried to console him, telling him he would one day be able to sore in the sky and dive into the depths of the ocean because his origin element would be a tremendous gift from the heavens.
Once inside his tent Sechs closed his eyes and began to focus all of his attention on refining the elemental energy.
Seeing her young master this way Tekone was both worried and proud, sixth from a young age was the smartest child she had ever heard about and she believed that he would one day create his own cultivation technique but the origin element would always be a worrying thing.
Not to far from the tent a small commotion was occurring. The other five children along with some others had gotten together to make fun of the girl who had the water elemental affinity. The group would not harm her physically but did surround her not letting her leave as they mocked her.
After five minutes Sechs completely digested the elemental energy but it didn’t do much to help him, he still believed that eating hearts would be the best way to cultivate.
Hearing the small commotion he decided to check it out. Once there he saw fifteen children lead by one of the girls he saw surroundings and mocking the other girl.
“Hahaha didn’t you boast that you would be the strongest warrior, now how do you plan on doing that.”
“You’r just the head butchers daughter your not meant to be a warrior!”
“You’re a failure of a warrior.”
“Failure!”
“Failure!”
“Failure!”
Sechs smiled as he heard the jeers of the children, ‘head butcher?’, wasn’t that a perfect way to get close to beast that he could kill, they might even give some to him if he helped this girl out.
