Ch. 5 - The Weak One

Ch. 5 - The Weak One

Euris' body shook violently. He wiped the tears from his eyes and held Ikaria's arm before he gathered a large amount of mana and teleported to the nearby City of Anglesia.

He teleported to the middle of the capitol inside the church.

The ground was filled with a pattern of the seal. Tall pillar structures lined the circle of the seal, and with a pathway, many priests walked over the church's centre.

As the Priest passed over the hall, they immediately took notice of his arrival.

Many eyes caught his attention as he brought 3 bodies with him. His wife and the coachman whose unconscious, and the child from his arms were so pale that his skin turned white as milk.

"Call the Priestess!" Euris yelled from the crowd of priests around them.

One priest member had gestured his hand and summoned a wind spirit. He passed a message to the wind spirit, and she immediately vanished from thin air when it entered a dimensional space.

Moments later, the Priestess and her Husband teleported to the middle of the capitol. The Priestess' face immediately grew serious as she walked towards Euris way.

Her hands were placed over the child from his arms, and a divine light lit from her hands. Her eyes dilated before she moved her hands away and faced Euris' gaze.

Euris's face sweated heavily as he spoke, "What's wrong with her, Keisha?"

"He lost to much power of his mana core. He's body is unstable we need to hurry."

Keisha as she gestured her hands over her husband as Magnus marched towards her.

"Hon, call the other High Priest to the chambers now."

Her husband Magnus gathered large amounts of mana and summoned 5 wind spirits as they vanished in thin air.

"Let's go."

Keisha started to move from the teleportation hall. The Priest immediately took care of Ikaria and the coachman's bodies and brought them away.

Despite a long battle, where he lost much mana, he tried his best to stand, his body shaking terribly as his eyes followed his wife.

His heart clenched deeply as he glanced at his son in his arms. He placed a kiss over his head and patted them carefully. 'Please be safe...'

He thought before he handed his son into the Priestess's arms. "Please take care of him."

Euris bowed her head towards her.

Keisha nodded as she turned her back towards them.

Euris trailed behind the Priest as he gave over his wife and gently caressed her face.

A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.

While Keisha walked the long stretch of hallways as she headed to the prayer chamber.

She finally arrived and placed him in the center of a platform. She set her hands over the child's chest as the High Priest started to chant their prayers as they circled around them.

A divine holy aura erupted, and a beam of light became stronger from her hands as she calmly entered Seyric's body. As she controlled the inner organs and searched for his mana core.

Until she found it. Seyric's mana core was no longer bright, and it only emitted a pale grey colour that only filled inside his core. Keisha's face stiffened when she noticed a weak strength that only held to a thin tread. Her brows furrowed as she continued to preserve his mana core.

For a long time, they continued to chant while the Priestess remained in the middle of the circle.

Time passed while Ikaria lay on a soft bed as Euris sat by the chair next to the bed.

He leaned his head over the bedside as he held hands with his wife.

After Ikaria is put under a sleep spell, they manage to dispel them, yet she is needed to rest after being attacked by a dark spirit. Her body was tainted by the dark mist. Thankfully, the situation happened near the City of Anglesia.

It was a city where people served and highly respected the gods.

Finally, Ikaria opened her eyes, greeted by a sweet aroma. As it entered her nose, she felt warmth and relaxation engulf her as she roamed her eyes around the room.

The white walls complemented the white-golden pattern of furniture around. She noticed a grasp on her fingers as she tried to move her hands. She glanced over her side and found her husband.

With her sudden movement, Euris raised his head and was greeted by her face.

"Honey! Are you feeling well now?" He scanned her face and let out a sigh of relief.

He leaned close to her and placed a kiss on her hair. "I thought I lost you..."

Ikaria held her husband's neck, but her mind couldn't help to ponder, "Honey, where is he?"

Euris pulled away as his excitement vanished from his face. He sighed deeply as he stared into her eyes. "He's fine now, but he was badly hurt..."

Ikaria's eyes started to water from his statement.

Her pupils stared at nowhere before her emotions erupted inside her, her chest bombarded with loud pounds and a million needless that stabbed them.

"I'm sorry, honey...I... I couldn't protect him." She sobbed and buried her face in her palms.

Euris shook his head and hugged her tightly, "No honey, it's not your fault. It was mine. I put both of you at risk... and I couldn't even protect you both."

Ikaria buried her face into his chest, "No honey. Don't say that... you always risk just to save us."

She later then wrapped her hands around his back.

While Euris bit her lower lips and shook his head. "I won't let anything like that happen again, honey. I'm sorry that I disappointed you."

Ikaria didn't respond. Instead, she kept her face still in his chest. Her heart ached so bad as her mental strength weakened as she hugged him tightly, which made Euris hand pat her back as she let herself go.

After a minute, he clothes were soaked from her tears while Euris's face remained emotionless, but he didn't stop to pat her.

Before she finally pulled away, it all wiped up. "How is he?"

Euris leaned away, grabbed a cloth from the table, and handed it to her—"They said he needs to stay bathed by the Divine Aura for a few weeks. He lost so much of his strength... His mana core is...not enough to achieve B tier..."

Euris sighed heavily as he looked away. "It doesn't really matter as long as he is well."

Ikaria accepted the cloth and used it to wipe the wet side of her face. "I'm glad."
