Ch. 13 - Training Grounds (1)

Ceious sighed as Damier rolled his eyes and he stormed off.

As he thought to himself. 'It's supposed to be nobles using proper seats.' He clenched his teeth as he glances at the students from the central parts over the training ground.

Their eyes judge over the crowd say from the dirty stone ground and laughed out of their stomach.

Which made Damier grip his hand tightly as he looked away. 'I should ask father about this matter.'

As more students came out front to show their magic, it didn't take long before Seyric was finally called.

"Mr. Seyric Cloudflaw, please show your performance." Ceious gestured his hands over as he glanced over the paper in the folders, and re-read his surname.

'Cloudflaw is a bit familiar... I wonder where and when could I possibly hear it...?' As he scanned the papers precisely, his eyes fixed on his elemental core status which is unclassified.

On the other hand, Seyric confidently extended his hand as a small amount of mana gather over his hand, in a quick pace he managed to build mana out of his hands as an ant size fire formed above his hands.

The crowd of children started to laugh in the chorus as they pointed fingers at him, they shook their heads and clapped out of reaction as they couldn't keep their composure.

As Ceious raised his head as he glimpse over the laughter of the crowd and glared, "Silence, all of you!"

Ceious started to march over as he glanced over his hands, which hovered a bare minimum fire. He fluttered his eyelash for a moment before he slowly nodded his head, "Not bad for trying at least, please sit."

Seyric lowered his head as he bolted away from the crowd in the back, as others giggled silently from their seats.

Ceious sighed as he started to write from the folder, he used the quail and stated. "It's a shame for you, you all at the age of seven, yet most of you struggled to create a ball of fire. Seyric is only 5 and he could do it better than you."

Silence fell over the crowd as they wore a smugged look on their face and lowered their head.

As Ceious continued to mention students' names for minutes and seconds.

Seyric only hid behind the pillar, his back leaned over as he sat by the cold stone floor as stared at the palm of his hands. He squinted his red eyes which are in the deep sea and a gloomy look plastered over his face.

"Hey,"

He raised his eyes to meet a familiar face of a young lady, she had a very decent pair of uniforms in silver patterns and she had a crest of a reindeer.

"You did well there," Naivet smiled at him as he remained silent.

She suddenly offered her hands in front of him as he glanced over her closed fist.

"Cheer up, Seyric. Don't let others get to you." She giggled.

Seyric slowly extended his hands and she grabbed his wrist as she leaned closer and placed over a piece of candies.

"Here, take it." She then wrapped her arms around her back as she turned away her body from him and place her index over her lips, "Please don't tell them that I gave you some sweets... I'm not allowed to eat it. I'll be off then. See you!"

Naïvet ran off and Seyric was only left in that corner as he glanced over the candies in his hands and surveyed the place.

Naivet stood closely near Damier as he leaned over the wall and glared looks over his face.

"Stop being mad, now! I'm sure we'd be the next time to use the seats." She laughed as Damier glanced in her direction.

"There won't be next time. I will tell, father." He groaned before he crossed his arms and looked back in the direction of the second-year students. "Besides we got here first. They have the audacity to steal our place!"

"Do you want sweets?" She pondered as she showed him her palms full of candies as Damier glared at her hands.

"No, I'm not a child." He rolled his eyes and looked back before his pupils dilated and face her gaze.

"Wait, hasn't your father forbidden you to eat this? Give me that!" He took all the candies in her hands.

"You still have more of this?" He pondered as he tried to check her pockets.

She could only giggle as she took out a sack filled with candies, as Damier glared at her and grabbed the sack away. "Your father would kill me for this. How many have you eaten?"

She started to count with her fingers as she began to exceed ten fingers and counted for more. "20? I've lost count..."

Damier sighed and suddenly smack her with her fist over her head.

She groaned, "That hurts!" As she patted her head where the impact took place and massage them gently.

"Mr. Damier, what are you doing?!" Ceious called out as he gave him a death glare. "You can't smack a lady's head like that!"

"So, what. Would it break?" He scoffed as Ceious crossed his arms over him.

"It would!" Naivet pouted as Damier glanced over her as shook his head.

"Shut up, it wouldn't."

"That's it, leave my class. Now!" Ceious gestured his hands over the gate.

"Whatever, I know about it already," Damier muttered as he left the training ground.

Ceious paced towards Naivet as he checked over her head. "Does it hurt?"

"No, sir. Thank you." She bowed her head and giggled as she noticed Damier as he stood by the gate.

He started to shake the sack in his hands as he mouthed. 'I'll tell your father.'

Naivet's face become stiff and her complexions started to pale as she bit her lips.

"What's wrong now? Are you feeling sick?" Ceious asked as he scanned her face.

"Ah, no... no sir." She shook her head.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes sir. But… I kind off need to use the restroom, can… can I go?" Her lips tightened as her nose started to sweat.

"Okay, you can go."

Immediately, Naivet bolted towards Damier's way as she glared at his back when he suddenly walked away. She followed him and turned into the corner.

The sky started to blend with orange and pink, students are finally gone from school. Ceious marched down the hallway before he arrived at the end and entered the room at the end of the hall.

He bowed his head at the man as he sat by a fine-wood table.

The man violet eyes glanced over him as he scanned him from head to toe as smiled. "What brings you here, Viscount Ceious?"

"Good afternoon, headmaster," –he greeted as he marched towards the chair– "I would like to ask about the background of a student Class A-1..."

"Yes, who of them?" The headmaster raise his brows as he tapped his hands over the table.

Ceious pressed his lips as he cleared his throat, "It's Seyric Cloudflaw, headmaster... It seems like there's something familiar about 'Cloudflaw'. Can you please enlighten me?"

"Hm, very well." The headmaster nodded as he turned his back a bit and shuffled into the pile of documents until finally, he grabbed one file and pulled it out and he placed it on the table.

"Read."

"Yes, headmaster."

Ceious slowly extended his hands as he picked it up and scanned the contents as his eyes grew distant and his face turned into full gloom. After a long pause of silence, his pupils suddenly enlarge and he shook his head quickly and face the headmaster's gaze.

The headmaster smiled from ear to ear as Ceious handed the documents back to his hands.
