Alas, another day has folded. Class 1-A was now located in a forest field. A crowd of students formed beneath the trees. There were five targets visible from the distance. While rocks were piled beside the trees.
Ceious grabbed a stone. He walked to the crowd as their students fixed their gaze on him.
"Now, since from our recent discussion I've talked about matter manipulation, then everyone must take turns to shoot the target using a stone and mana."
Remember, you must learn to control it, everyone. Remember controlling mana is the key to everything. It will certainly prove useful in the future for you all." He said.
The students chattered after his statement.
"Have you listened to the lesson lately?"
"No, I have not. It was boring."
"Now how will that help us?"
"Tsk,"
Ceious sighed as their voices sank into his mind and he shook his head. "Fine, fine. I will let you all take a five-minute break before we proceed."
The students screamed in chorus as Ceious chuckled in reaction. He leaned down by the tree and played with the rock in his hands, as he threw and caught them briefly.
"Sir," One student interrupted Ceious as he glanced at him.
"Can you please give me an idea of how I can manipulate the stone?" The students begged as other kids stood behind him.
On the other hand, Ceious crossed his arms. "I can't spoon feed you always, class."
"But sir, we... we don't get them." The student added as they played his hands.
"You'd know how this thing works, especially if it was your body. The supply of mana is in your control, you control it yourself. You'd know the feelings when you have the chance to do so, and haven't I shown you this yesterday?"
"We... we forgot." The student lowered his head as the other students nibbled their fingers.
Seyric surveyed the crowd and found Naivet near the tree. His eyes flickered for a moment before he marched towards her.
Naivet raised her head and met his gaze. "Oh, it's you! What is it?"
Seyric bit his lips and took a deep breath. "I would like to thank you... for the... candies you gave me last time."
Naivet smiled as she nodded her head. "No need. I was glad to cheer you up."
She then gestured her hand to her side as she smiled. "Come sit."
If you come across this story on Amazon, it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.
Seyric eyes vibrated as he stood there for a long while, until suddenly... Naivet pulled his wrist and forced him to sit next to her.
"Have you heard about Sir. Ceious lesson?" She muttered as she watched the leaves wave from the distance.
"Yes..."
"I can share with you a small secret," Naivet giggled as she extended her hand as the leaves started to wiggle around and were plucked from the branch. I danced around mid-air and descended into her hands.
"Let your mind clear," she added and blew the leaves away as they suddenly rose from her palms, "Feel your surroundings ... picture them out and...." The leaves then returned to their place on the branches.
"Let the mana flow inside you, relax your nerves and focus." She whispered and giggled.
Seyric squinted his eyes at her as Damier emerged behind the trees and glared in her direction.
"That was me, idiot. Stop acting like it's you." Damier huffed a sigh and sat beside her.
While Naivet slapped his arms and giggled. "Well, Seyric sorry about that. I was bored of my own mana, so I used his."
Seyric glanced at both of them as he parted his lips. "But... How were you able to have a conversation without speaking...?"
"Ah, about that," Naivet glanced at him and smiled, "I used this."
A small green transparent figure sprouted out of her shoulder, her hair curled upwards as she only had a wide pupil in her face, with no mouth and nose present on the face, and her body was a human figure above the waist and a tail below it.
"She is a first-grade wind spirit," Naivet whispered as the spirit glided through the air and nudged to his cheeks. "She can provide information."
Time passed by, Seyric became part of the first team to face the targets and held a stone.
While Ceious stood behind them he scanned their backs, "Everyone, remember to hit the target and for those who failed to do so... would get punished with some assignments."
As the crowd struggled to swallow their breath and swore a serious look on their faces, Ceious smiled. The other students fixed their stance as they held the stone in their hands.
As for Seyric, he also started to get into position. He fixed his stance.
The other's started to throw the stone towards the target and missed them, others almost hit them.
He remained still for a moment, exhaled, and threw the stone. He immediately lost control and it dropped.
The student behind him giggled.
Seyric grabbed another stone and shut his eyes.
While Ceious watched all of the students face the target and thought, 'One must clear their mind and learn to focus, especially on the matter and surroundings —'
Seyric's heart thumped and reached his ears. The beats were constant, his mind cleared.
Seyric started to relax the tension in both his mana nerves and muscles. His nerves had become accessible.
'Next is to relax the body and gather the mana inside you—'
As the mana particles enter Seyric's body. It trailed to the nerves and became distributed throughout his mana-nerves. His mind imagined the scene.
While the wind swept to his face, he began to extend behind him. As the wind touched his fingertips, he released mana pressure over the stone as he threw it in the air.
'Nature is the ideal thing to use. Picture what makes matter float and what holds it... and the key is to understand how you can use them.'
The stone began to glide in the air in a straight motion, as the wind accelerated the stone's path. It wobbled for a moment until it finally struck the cloth target which it ripped from the middle.
Ceious eyes gleamed towards Seyric as he nodded his head with a wide smile across his face. "I could see potential in this kid. It sucks that he has that kind of fate... Nevertheless, he will have a long road ahead of him."
