Sora: When is he coming home?

Vince: He told me two hours.

Ruby: Knowing that old man, he's probably going to surprise us with stupid gifts instead of returning straight home.

Ryder: I don't see the issue, Ruby. Let the useless father do something useful. He's hardly ever at home, the longest time he stayed was two weeks that was when Sora was born.

Sora: He said: "I might just be done being a mage for the world. I need to step up and be here for you Sora."

Ryder: Pops keep on saying that. Don't allow this man that we call dad to disappoint you. He let us all down, Blue. Let me give you a list.  Pops only came to one of my birthday parties. He missed all of Sapphires and Rubies birthdays. For Vince, he only came for three birthdays. Dad promises a lot of things but never come through on his word.

Sapphire: That's why we give all the terrible nicknames.

Ruby: At least he was here when Sora turned four.

Vince: He was there all right!

Sapphire: Didn't father showed up for five minutes. Then he just took off.

Ryder, Sapphire, Ruby, Vince: The moral of the story don't trust dad when he's giving his word.

I heard the sliding door open and I see my dad's tired but happy face. He's holding one big box that was the size of a fridge.

Rex: Hello to my wonderful children! I'm back!

Ryder, Sapphire, Ruby, Vince, Sora: Hey dad. (Said in a monotone voice while in unison)

Rex: I did it, I'm retired! Say hi to your new staying home father!

Ryder: Hi dad! And goodbye, dad!

Sapphire: Like we ever trust your word!

Vince: Pops, just leave, if you're going to break our hearts again.

Ryder, Sapphire, Ruby, Vince, Sora: Mom!!! (The five us ran from the picnic table to hug mom while passing by dad)

Maina: You guys miss me!?

Sapphire, Ruby: Of course!

Ryder: Why wouldn't we miss you!?

Rex: Kids, can I get a hug!? ( he crouches down and open up his arms waiting on somebody to hug him)

Sapphire: I was about to go to the living room before you arrive.

Ruby: I just go with my twin.

Ryder: Since everyone wants to go, I guess I go.

10 minutes later

Rex: Well kids! Do you guys believe me now?

Ryder: I kinda believe.

Ryder: Give me a year then I might trust your word.

Breaking News! Maina Hestia is fighting Laughing Mama again in the city of Atlanta.  

Brandon Tucker: Good Afternoon! My name is Brandon Tucker, we have multiple reports that Maina Hestia is fighting the former WMA member Eleanor Richardson now known as Laughing Mama. The last time these two fought,  Maina was eighteen years old, and not the god of mages yet. But Maina is 27 years old and doesn't look like a day over 21 years of age. If you're in Bacon County then you are advised to leave the area.

Rex- I have to make a phone call.

Ryder: I knew it!

Rex- It's just a phone call!

Do you feel guilty old man? You still are a mage, you can never be retired from that. It's in your veins, but you have to let this go before you go to an early grave! Why am I even nervous right now!? I know what happens! These are just memories. I can't change the past, it is impossible!

Rex: Are you alright, Commander Cody? I just looked at your text.

Cody: We need you! The World Mage Association can't send us back up. It looks like a new powerful group as emerged they call themselves Kamui. We need you! I know you walked away from this but we need you, boss! You said to all our families that we would arrive safely back home. Help us! We are losing Washington D.C!

Rex: Cody, you know that I would come! But I made a promise to family and I intend to keep it if I can! I can call the god of mages for you and she can help you.

Cody: She has to stay in Georgia because Georgia doesn't have the power to keep criminal mage organizations in check.  

Rex: Let me call and check then I will let you know my answer.

Cody: Please don't take too long sir!

Father, I wish I could stop you but I can't because this is the past.

Rex: How long will it take you to be finished with your former master?

Maina: The way she's looking for a good hour or more, why you ask?

Rex: I need you to help my ex-squad mates out before they die.

Maina: You have to tell them to hold on. I need all the mana I have to beat Laughing Mama. The old bitch may be old but she still powerful and clever as hell! She's going to make me fight honestly. I hate that, I know I can overpower her but she's tricky as hell. So I won't send a clone over there.

Rex: Can you send a projection of yourself? Many mages fear and respect you. I don't think these new guys calling themselves Kamui will try to take you on.

Maina: Alright, but if this plan doesn't work, I will try to make it there on time.

Rex: Thank you!

Maina: No problem! Gotta go bye!

Why didn't this work!? People should fear her! Not fight her, what went wrong, I can't remember!

Rex: Cody, Maina will come to your aid. But she will send a projection hopefully that will scare them off. But if it doesn't hold on as much as possible, okay?

Cody: We see the projection! Let's see are they scared?

Rex: Who wouldn't be scared!? (Laughing)

I see all the concern looks of my brothers and sisters. They have the same worried expressions on their faces like me. All of us sitting here not being able to do anything.  

Cody: One of them just called out the projection!? What do we do!?

Rex: Retreat then we group at headquarters. As long you can make it at the spatial portal before the mage gets tired and rest.

Cody: That's the thing, sir! I called it off! It looked like we had this secured. But I was a poor leader, I was too cocky!

Rex: Can you wait for Maina!?

Cody: No sir! The more we run, we lose more and more. But if we stop then we would be ambushed.

Rex: I'm on my way!

Cody: Thank you, Vice Admiral!

Ryder: I knew it! You can't keep your word!

Rex: You guys are right! But I can't let them die! It's not like one of you guys will die right if I left.

5 minutes later

Rex: If I don't come back, I left you guys with gifts for every birthday that I might miss! Ryder, I love you son. Sapphire & Ruby, you will always be my little girls forever, Vince, you're my favorite so you know I got much love for you!  Blue, I'm giving you something, someday, you will be a far better mage than I ever was, keep this headband with you. Let it remind you of me. Wear it with pride, because you will be going to Rowan Academy. Join a mage club that has strong young members. And Blue I love you! ( Rex, was heading out to the front door but he ran back and group us all up and gave each and every one of us hugs)

Dad, you just sealed your fate.

Rex: Goodbye! (He left with a proud smile on his face)

I know what happens! Why didn't you just stayed here! Mom, why couldn't you just kill Laughing Mama then went on to D.C! If you were really the god of mages then Father would never have died! Then Vince would've been alive!  This is your damn fault! What kind of god of mages are you! You should beat her with ease! I bet you'd played around with her then decided to beat her! This could've been avoided! You are the one that is responsible for my father's death! You left me fatherless, you go to a family I didn't want to be with!

Mom! When I see you again, I will beat you and take that god of all mages title away from you! I will be the world's champion!

Zea give me your training!  I want to be the strongest mage! I will do anything, I will become whoever you want me to be!

A big flash of light appeared. I see that I'm back in the field. I look around and I see no one.
